Caffe Nero in Lancaster

Having put a lot of steps in around the city we were in need of this and the staff absolutely delivered. Great coffee and lovely atmosphere. Reasonably busy as well which is always nice to see.

Went in with my wife for a coffee. She is allergic to caffeine but they had no decaffeinated no apology offered. For a coffee shop not to be able to serve coffee is a joke

Disabled toilet no paper at all bins overflowing generally neglected the interior of the cafe needing decorating. The access doors need modifications

Awful staff. Walked in with a flatmate to get coffee, wearing masks, but we were immediately and rudely told to leave as there were apparently too many people in the shop. There was no indicator of how many people should be in at once and though there was enough room to social distance, we were made to feel as though we had purposefully done something wrong. If we had simply been told that too many people was the problem instead of being yelled at it would have been fine. Didn’t get the coffee and never will from here again, unless the staff learn how to interact with basic human decency.

Pop in today for a quick coffee. Mask on 2 meters apart slow going only one young lady serving. The 2nd person was bobbing around clearing tables. After about 5 mins in queue the lady in front of me in her 60s was joined by a second lady off about the same age not a problem as she was with her partner who was sat down at a table with 2 small quite dogs. She then told the first lady that the guy who was bobbing around had told her partner to leave the coffee shop. Why she asked because he did not have a drink or food in front of him. But how could he as the first lady was buying there drinks and food. The 2nd lady and man tried to explain this fact to the manager as it turned out to be but he was getting more aggressive towards them. The next thing was a guard turned up he was stood next to the manager as he demanded they left. This was going on in front of the whole cafe. Why should they leave was the question when they were queuing to buy food but he would not have it and being more aggressive towards the older couple. His next move was he walk up to the counter and instructed the young lady behind the counter to refuse to serve her which she did. Now with no food or drink and a more aggressive manager with his side kick they were kicked out of the coffee shop. In all my life I have never seen anyone do such a bad thing to older people. And I told the management as I walked out with them that he was disgusting and total out of order the way he had been to these people. We if cafe Nero gose bust it serves you right Plesea avoid this place

The manager refused to serve our group of 3 adults because my husband had sat down at a table before I had bought our drinks and food. Due to COVID restrictions I had been waiting outside for the queue to die down and then stood in the queue for almost 8 minutes as there was only one person serving. The manager told my husband he could not sit down before we had our drinks and was very rude and argumentative, he would not listen as I calmly explained I was waiting to be served and we couldn’t all stand in the queue (we also had our two little dogs). He was obnoxious so much so three people In the queue behind me left citing his attitude toward us as the reason. Another man behind me (Also Unknown to us) confronted the manager and asked him on what grounds was he Refusing to serve us and the manager told him to zip his mouth. The man also left telling him he was out of order and would also leave which he promptly did. We have been regular customers at this cafe for years and although I reminded the manager of this he was uninterested and dismissive. We will never go to this cafe again - his behaviour towards us was despicable, the other customers were horrified by his behaviour towards us and other customers.

Ordered a frappe that tasted like 10% coffee, 90% disappointment. The “frappe” was gloopy (something like raw egg like texture) and was mostly coffee flavoured foam. I suspect they didn’t put enough ice to blend it. Also ordered a round coffee cake that was so dry and stale it was unpleasant. I usually love Nero, not sure what went wrong there.

For me to catch up on the previous week`s papers in comfortable surroundings with a great coffee is heaven.Caffe Nero ticks all the boxes for me in Lancaster.Unlike the other chains in town,the staff don`t change each week,are well trained,polite,friendly and actually remember your favourite choice of coffee and your name!! From the regular faces each week that keep on returning,its a winning formula for me. Many congrats to Kerry,Diane,Amy,Syreeta and team for their enthusiasm and customer service.Costa and Starbucks could learn so much by sending their staff to Nero to see how its done!!

Completely miserable pair of women working here on Sunday morning. No greeting, no smile, no goodbye, nothing. Dreadful. Go elsewhere - Lancaster has plenty of independent coffee shops.

I love this caffe nero. I cant work out why anyone would give it a bad review. The staff are courteous, quick, efficient and helpful. I feel relaxed here and always go here over costa or starbucks, neither of which have the charm that this coffee house has. The food is good and so's the coffee (and reasonably priced). It can be difficult to get a seat at certain times as people tend to hog a table for far too long nursing empty cups. But in saying that i shared a table with a lovely lady last week so it can be a plus. Well done people.

First time in this cafe and I was surprised how busy it was at 07:45 this morning, I had a black coffee and a toasted fruit tea cake and my wife had a hot chocolate. The young lady who served us was very friendly and polite. Enjoy

Very central and just what we needed for a quick lunch. Coffee, chocolate and two sandwiches for under £10. Good value.

Dirty toilets , inconsistent staff just appalled when having lunch and a coffee here , I was with my nephew and this place is far from child friendly at all

Great coffee. Food is good for veggies and vegans too which is always a bonus for me! Always smiling staff. Lovely to come on a day off ☺️

I was waiting in line to get a coffe and i chose a cookie ordered it sat down ,tables were piled with used coffe mugs ,a drunk man was in being abusive and doing explicit hand gestures ,my cookie tasted like it had been displayed on the counter for four weeks and it seemed like they were very under-staffed .not satisfied with my experience wouldnt come again if it was like that.

This branch serves the usual Caffe Nero fayre. If you are a regular, remember to obtain a loyalty card and so every 10th coffee is free. I had a black Americano for £2.40. The branch is in the main shopping area.

Ok service , unclean and the toilets stink just like the management attitude So happy Starbucks is next door !

The toilet stinks, the place is dirty.the coffee is cold and the pastries are either under cooked and raw in the middle or burnt black. What is the point. They only do a few things so they should be perfect!!!The staff mainly seem nice unfortunately the products or delivery of them is rubbish and simply not good enough.

With the new Christmas range of coffee and a warm large mince pie it was a nice break from the shopping.

Me and my family always go to Caffe Nero and as we are a month away from Christmas, they have Christmas drinks and treats. I have my first mince pie of the year and it was absolutely delicious!! On top of that, I had a winter spice hot chocolate which was also very tasty. We always return to this cafe and I would recommend it to anyone!

We called in for a cup of coffee and a cookie before we left on our journey home. Our server was very friendly and quite chatty. The premises were quite busy but we were able to relax and enjoy them in there comfy chairs. It was very tidy compared to some we’ve been to.

My friend and I called in here for a drink today. It didn't take too long to get served, the drinks were nice. Toilets weren't very clean which seems the norm in this chain.

Always choose nero over other chains, love the service,loyalty scheme coffee and food, feel let down on this occasion by behaviour of one of staff members, bespectacled man with dark hair and beard, was carrying sandwich delivery in from front of store dropped one pushed it with foot until reached counter then picked it up and popped it back with others. Nice?? Not. Pleased I'd already eaten mine.

We visit Nero on a regular basis, There’s a range of drinks to choose from and both the coffee and food are reasonably priced, compared to similar rivals nearby. The staff are helpful and they’re loyalty scheme is great. The only downside is Nero deserts are expensive and the portions you receive are more like a half portion.

Friendly service, comfortable seating and a good tasting cappuccino hit the spot. There is only one toilet but it was clean enough.

I went there with a friend on a saturday morning. We got lucky as we got a snow storm in town.

Visited today with my boyfriend. Was in a bad mood and managed to spill my latte all over the table and onto the floor as well! The lovely waiter came over to clean it up and immediately remade two lattes for us even though it was completely my fault! He made my day, thank you very much :)

New Year’s Day ... cold and miserable weather, asked politely if could access with muzzled dog, rather bluntly told that “it was up to managers discretion” hence deemed dog was not allowed, and that outside was only option. Staff had to be asked to dry table, but the face on staff said a lot of what interest they had in making outside seating and tables customer usable. No option than taking our custom else where... great to see a business push away 4 customers, because of managers discretion...thus condemning this establishment as not dog friendly, and rather lacking in tact towards potential and respectful customers.. Not impressed... so Caffe Nero, might want to put a sign on the door, so don’t even waste time in entering and asking.

Had 4 coffees and 4 cakes between us. All of us happy with both coffee and cake. Service slightly slow but each coffee make fresh but only seemed to be 2 staff on and it was a Saturday lunchtime! Toilet was awful, only 1 and clearly both the staff were busy serving. Would go back though.

Usual Nero, busy for Sunday afternoon, mind you it was raining, typical standard of decent coffee, very average food, expensive, pleasing decor. I hope you have a great cuppa.

Went for a coffee. table not clean. staff ok but busy. I was told to sit down and they would bring coffee too me but in the end had to go to the counter and ask for it. Toilet not clean. too few staff.

Siempre me gusta venir aquí, ya que me encanta el ambiente, la comida y bebidas. Sin embargo sería de 5 estrellas es una verdadera pena que tienen siempre la puerta entornada. Viento, lluvia, sol (suficiente), Nieve, nubes, frío. . . Hace realmente desagradable para sentarse allí a veces.

I always use this coffee shop and chain like the way you are look after and the coffee is always good .

Love Nero, especially with the recent refurb. Me and my Husband spend many a weekend afternoon in the window watching the world go by. Always a great choice or drinks and snacks. Great warm welcome and the first place I go when I need a caffeine fix.

Great branch of this chain - great service - many regulars that the baristas know by name and what they order. Delicious latte and the soups not bad either. Nice place to go as a single lady or even with the kids!

Nero is my favourite coffee chain wherever I go and Lancaster is no exception. Coffee is great, thats important! BUT the staff quality whichever Nero I visit is top notch and that is down to great people but it has to be great training and management.

Very friendly and helpful Baristas. I was visiting with my 8 month old and 2 1/2 year old and we were made to feel really welcome.Coffee excellent, as ever, and great to see a return of the chocolate cheesecake.I find your doors difficult to negotiate with a pushchair, though. (It won't stop me coming).

Always great service from the friendly baristas and always welcomed with a smile. Great selection of hot and cold drinks and some delicious cakes.

Nice to go somewhere which feels familiar even if you have never been there before, and that is what Cafe Nero provides. You are almost certain of good coffee, friendly service, efficient wifi, a seat and a paper. All of this is here in a very central location. Perfect place to while away an hour or so.

My wife & I went to Lancaster on Saturday last to have a look around Lancashire's County Town, we are both from Lancaster and we do not go often enough. The market stalls were up in Lancaster City Centre and it is quite pleasant to mooch around them until boredom sets in - well in my case! When it did we headed for Caffe Nero just off the Market square, we both like a good strong black coffee and experience has taught us both that the best way of achieving one is to order two Americanos with only 1/2 to 3/4 of the water added in each OR to order two Double Espressos in slightly oversize cups and hot water on the side. Both work extremely well at Caffe Nero hence the vote of "Very Good" which is well deserved.

Fra tutti i franchising "italianeggianti" è quello con il caffè che più si avvicina al nostro gusto. Ampia scelta di dolci. Una piacevole novità che noi non usiamo sono gli iced drinks ai gusti più strani. Provateli.

Lo cierto es que me he convertido en cliente habitual de este Nero en muy poco tiempo. Ofrece en producto lo mismo que los demás Nero con la excepción de un personal extraordinario, que realiza unos excelentes cafés (para ser UK) y van más allá del servicio que cabría esperar. El ambiente también es muy agradable (mucho cliente habitual debido a un personal magnífico).

I meet a friend in town and went to Café Nero. A lot of cafes now are very expensive and you can never find anywhere to sit. I thought the price was good value and plenty of tables considering it was a Saturday. Good service. I would defiantly return

Particularmente eu prefiro o Nero do que o Costa e o Starbucks. Acho a oferta de cafés e doces melhor. Mas é aquilo, como é franchise, não importa aonde você estará, o Nero será igual.
