Sainsbury's Cafe in Lancaster

Very disappointed, bad service . No communication

Very clean...recommend a visit .service good, enjoyed my meal .

I've been to the cafe many times. My friend and I had double egg and chips, eggs were over cooked (crispy) and chips under cooked. Cook needs to be trained on how to fry an egg. Chip quality was very poor. In future, I think we will go to Morrisons. I've downgraded my previous score to reflect the poor quality of the food.

No atmosphere but it feels open & light. Food was served quickly, all day breakfast, it was hot & tasted OK but bacon was fatty. Coffee's good.

Once more Sainsbury cafe Morecambe fails miserably .So we're shut for 24hrs over Christmas,no hot chocolate,no decaff coffee,no hash browns( the cafe is inside a supermarket 🤣).... can't anyone go and get it...??? One member of staff on the counter again.......merry Christmas.

Had cod and chips and just couldn't eat it. Frozen square fish was tasteless and batter was soggy. Peas looked and tasted like they'd been on the boil for 6 months and chips were just horrible. No-one came to ask how food was after it had been served so didn't have the opportunity to ask for something else so putting my feedback here. £13.60 wasted.

What has happened to this cafe. 3 weeks in a row.No . oat milk for my coffee. Despite being a supermarket with shelves stocked with it .They can't get it from there.. Tha staff are friendly just not enough of them.They didn't seem very well organised with no Leader. Tables always need cleaning and the floor a good regular sweep. Sainsburys need to get their act together and bring bring this cafe back up to the standard it used to be.Also get the stock ordering correct with a system were if they run out they can purchase from the supermarket. After 3 e mails to Customer Service the same problem still there..

Lightning quick. Ultra weak coffee exchanged and came back 10x stronger. Perfect value for money.

First time here and what a surprise. Really friendly staff, great inexpensive food, and plenty of room between the tables. There is a lift from the ground floor so ideal for disabled. They even offer a service to fill your water bottles.

Bad food cold chips I would never recommend coming here again for dinner

Ordered a large breakfast & was told they had no sausages. I said do you not have sausages on the shop floor you could use? The assistant said yes but they can’t use them but offered to swap sausage for bacon. I asked if I could have black pudding instead but this was a no as they don’t offer it despite selling it on shop floor and it being part of a full English. My wife asked for extra hash browns instead but this was also not possible because apparently you can only swap protein for protein. You would think it being a supermarket cafe and it being their fault they had no sausages they would make more of an effort to make it up to the customer. We decided to take our custom elsewhere namely weatherspoons where we got a full English which included sausage, black pudding plus more eggs and toast than we would have got at sainsburys for a similar price. The stupid thing is we were also going to do a family shop there after so they’ve missed that sale too through stupid policy bull****

Went for 2 half shot lattes ... staff behind the counter were great .. very friendly and working very hard. Coffee was perfect,cup was full and was hot. Well done cafe counter staff ,we will be back.

Me and my family were expecting a lively dinner however when we went up to order, the coffee ☕ machine was brocken which is fair enough, but then we asked for the English breakfast and the kids sausage and chips, they told us there were no sausages which is in furiating if this wasn't bad enough there wasn't any steak and ail pie. After being told this we had lots our patience and left .

Fast service amazing staff lovely food just amazing

Just awful. Jacket potato skin scorched, cheese, breakfast bowl of thawing coleslaw and unwashed, dirty salad(lettuce only). Fish, Chips and garden peas. Oven-cooked Fish was like rock hard, Chips - small ones cooked larger one's raw and garden peas cold. Wanted Scampi but fryer was broken. Staff just couldn't be bothered like they were somewhere else; Wished we were too. Won't ever be returning.

Not the best sorry. This breakfast has changed, not as nice as it used to be. Staff were lovely.

What has happened to this cafe, it used to be so good. My daughter asked for a baked potato with tuna but they hadn't got any tuna even though there's a shop full of it so she had cheese, the menu said it came with side salad but arrived with only lettuce. Now for my grandsons meal of sausage, baked potato, beans and peas, the peas and potato were so dried up he couldn't eat it, not even a butter portion for the potato. This place isn't the cheapest of super market cafes and certainly not value for money

The tables in the cafe were filthy despite it not being busy when we arrived. Staff were thoroughly miserable which didn’t help create a welcoming environment. I had to request clean cutlery twice as each time they had food on them, rather worrying that the hygiene standards are so low in the middle of a pandemic..We decided to try the Christmas dinner, it was inedible. Absolute waste of money!

I found always dirty sticky tables

Came with my friends & their two children, we ordered four breakfast ( with variations to two of the breakfast ) & a kids sausage, mash & beans, the lad on the till ( oli I think he was called ) served us very well & made a note of the variations we wanted, even read it back to us! After a 45 minute wait our food came out & the kids meals had chips not mash, the variations of the breakfast was completely wrong, it was asked they got the plates mixed up and just sent it out regardless, the eggs were over cooked & grey looking, the beans tasted burnt. Usually we cant find a fault with the food in the cafe but today we was all disappointed, considering we spent around £30ish with food & drinks, it lacked its usual charm! Hopefully this was just a one off

Nice food but not much choice and they never offer new meals or change the menu

Food good takes awhile to get served but we'll worth the wait. Meals cost about £5 without a drink. Good food a lot of it good choice.

Nice food hot and not too expensive

While waiting for a coffee I noticed a hot chicken baguette with gravy for £3.50. Decided to try it. What a disappointment. Turned with no gravy as they didn’t have any. Really. It is a supermarket. A dry baguette with 3 slices of chicken. Not buttered either. A bland tasteless snack. Don’t try it. A total waste of money. Fortunately the latte was ok

Not enough staffing in the restaurant to keep the tables clean with plates being left for age's before being moved after having to complain

Very disappointed with the standard of food, cleanliness, and service in this cafe. Very wet and greasy breakfast, loads of tables cluttered with previous customers plates, cups and food, and very slow service. I expected more from Sainsburys.

Pretty average food and drink. Has an accessible lift to get to it and the staff are very good. Bit bleak in outlook and set up but does the job. (Watch out for the parking, you need to get a ticket and have it reimbursed in the store)

Very slow service only one girl serving bless her I felt sorry for her she coped well under the pressure the restaurant was busy. They were short staffed in the cooking area coz I over heard a lady who was delivering the food we was told it would be a twenty minute delay I wasn't too concerned coz I quite like to sit n read one of the news papers n take my time, but a few customers with kids were getting agitated, the staff couldn't appologised enough n offered a fresh brew whilst the customer was sat waiting. The staff looked tired but were as cheery as can be under the circumstances.

No Sourdough bread served with Advocado which was hard and inedible no mushrooms served with Haloumi breakfast half an hour wait

Nice suprise to find such a varied menu on offer, my first choice had sold out so opted for a sweet potato curry very enjoyable, It's clean with friendly staff, definitely recommend

A 25 minute wait to pay for a sandwich and ask for a coffee was outrageous. The staff were slow on the tills and the person making the hot drinks was clearly new- bless him! and was trying to work the coffee machine without luck. A female staff member kept coming out from the back with the the same response to him "ok love?" then disappearing again. Clearly he wasn't ok as the queue wouldn't have been so long. Two people behind me in the queue went to The Toby Carvery saying that they would be sat eating before they reached the till. When I eventually reached the till to pay the girl couldn't find the right buttons to press to take my money. Another 5 mins until the coffee was made it looked disgusting black frothy mess. I decided to cut my losses and chose a sofa by the window. The sofa was ripped and dirty. I cleaned it myself using a napkin! I then sat to have my lunch feeling emotionally drained from the wait and frustration. I sat watching the staff bringing out the hot lunches- they walked aimlessly around the tables at snail speed trying to find the numbers. It looked like a scene from Acorn Antiques! Hilarious! COME ON SAINSBURY'S TOP BOSSES - have your lunch at Morecambe- then sack the lot of them- especially the management for being unable to run a bit of a cafe efficiently.

I visit my mum regularly and on most of my visits I take her shopping and more often than not this is Sainsbury’s because it’s close by. We had bought an awful lot more than the three items on mum’s list and as I am pushing her in a wheelchair as well as trying to manage her purchases it gets pretty tiring. On this occasion I decided to take mum up for a coffee and I wish I hadn’t bothered, the customer service is not only missing but it’s downright rude!!! The female individual serving behind the counter finished serving the person in front of me and then proceeded to Busy herself with unnecessary jobs not even acknowledging my presence waiting by the coffeee area waiting to order my two lattes, this individual continued wasting time on nonsense until a young lad came through with a tray full of clean dishes and then asked if I was being served!!! The young chap took my massive time-consuming order of two lattes and then I had to wait forever while the milk heated, the difference was though that the young chap told me and didn’t ignore me as the bespectacled female person had. I had left my mum at a table and that was an easy enough job, but the place was quite grubby, I think this was due to the clientele as much as the staff and tone honest I did not expect Sainsbury’s Cafe to be this poor and as I previously said the difference between the store as in the quality of the staff, the helpfulness, pride in their job and cleanliness of the busy store and the cafe upstairs is like night and day! Suffice to say I will not take my mum back there and I certainly won’t go back. I can not recommend Sainsbury’s Cafe!

Great little café. Tucked upstairs. Friendly staff. Spacious feeling. Staff on the ball with clearing and cleaning tables. Lovely relaxed feel. Good coffee. Very reasonable prices and good food. Will definitely be returning!

I have to be honest I was a little disappointed when myself and a friend went for lunch in sainsburys a few days ago. Usually it's lovely and reasonably priced but the prices have gone up and everything was microwaved. I would still go to the cafe for a coffee but not sure if I will be going for lunch anytime soon. The staff were lovely and helpful and it was very clean and tidy and the toilets were clean.

Went with the lads and I was disappointed to say the least. Customer service was awful and the toilets were disgusting., The chips were cold and the apple’s were warm. Fair to say I won’t be visiting here again. Onto Morrison’s. #Morrisonsaway

I have visited the Cafe of numerous occasions and have found the food good and reasonably priced, then if the fance takes you do a little shopping after....

This Supermarket cafe is easily the best in the area. The place is always clean, the staff are really pleasant, and the food is good. It's a great spot if you don't won't to cook at home and don't won't to spend a lot of money. The coffees are as good as the high street coffee shops.

Popped in for a latte, how they can call what was produced coffee defeats me! A lukewarn bitter cup of seriously nasty stuff topped with cold froth, it was truly revolting!

It was ok busy lots of things on tables

Fish and chips were good, served with garden or mushy peas, accompanied with tartar sauce and lemon. Staff excellent

We visited for breakfast at midday on a Sunday and it was very busy. The round tables were small for 2 with plates of food. The food was delicious and the service good but the atmosphere and small table were a bit irritating!

Sainsbury's Cafe provides lovely food, the Salmon is especially good.

We use the place so much that we are on first name terms with the staff. When we walk in and don't need to order as they know exactly what we are going to have each time. Superb.

The food here today was freshly cooked and looked lovely on the plate. My granddaughters meal of fish fingers and chips and beans wasn't over cooked as most children's meals look as if they have been In a deep fryer. Mine and my daughters were well presented. The only negative thing I would say Is, there were some tables far too small. Our first table could not have accommodated 3 meals, so we moved when someone left. The staff were pleasant and kept the tables clear. Ordering the meal was efficient and the staff lovely. This is appreciated.

Very expensive latte that doesn't even resemble one. Literally a watered down milky coffee. Why do they charge such prices for something that you can make better yourself.

Very disappointing, not up to standard of other sainsburys, a long wait for a mediocre meal

We thought we would call in for a light bite near lunch time 1.15 pm, the choice of sarnies was terrible, hardly anything left. We joined the long line only to be told food would be 25 mins or so.

Not so good recently. The food was not to the usual high standard. Hoping things get back to normal.

A nice little breakfast this morning. It’s not a bad cafe but nothing special. Prices are ok and the staff do their best to be helpful. We did have one incorrectly order meal and sadly, health and safety meant that boiling water couldn’t be brought to table (but a tea is ok). However, overall, we couldn’t complain and everything else was nice for the price. I wouldn’t urge people to come here but I wouldn’t advise you avoid it either!

Just what i needed after shopping a good cup of tea and coffee meals are average quality and can sometimes take a while when busy ,staff are friendly and helpful but a bit limited menu .

Of the three supermarket cafes available in Morecambe,Asda and Morrisons being the others, this is comfortably the best in terms of the staff and food.It is not perfect by any means,staff numbers at times but overall is good.The toasted teacakes at Sainsbury's are in a different league to any other cafes anywhere in Lancaster or Morecambe.

Supermarket cafes generally leave a lot to be desired but here is one that offers fresh acceptable food at competitive prices. Always maintained clean and with helpful staff the cafe is quite pleasant at quieter times allowing you to relax and enjoy a drink or a simple quick meal.

Called in for breakfast, service very good and efficient, the staff pleasant. Food was of decent quality at a decent price. Clean and tables cleaned and cleared quickly, good disabled access with clean toilets.

We visit this cafe usually for breakfast which is good and very cheap. However this visit was for lunch we both chose ham egg and chips and were told there was 20 mins wait which we didn't mind as they were busy and it was between 12 and 1 00 pm. We only waited a short while but the chips weren t that warm there was plenty of ham which was very tasty but overall a bit of a disappointment after the fab breakfast they serve.

Called in for a coffee and a scone with a friend. Good coffee and food in clean relaxing environment. You can watch the world go by outside.

We called in to Sainsbury’s ,and decided to have something to eat ( I wish that I had gave it a miss ), we ordered the Mushroom and Stilton bake , and the Turkey baguette, there was no baguettes, so were given the option of 2 rolls , we opted for one rolls with some chips , when it arrived there was 2 rolls ,which were like balls of dough ,no chips , theTurkey was dry ,the sausage hard and the stuffing hard , un edible. The Mushroom and Stilton bake was dry ,the vegetables were dried out felt like both meals had been prepared and ,left under headlights for some considerable time . We will certainly NOT be eating here for the foreseeable future.

Have eaten here regularly,but recent visits have provided higher prices and reduced choice,and you have to clean your table!

Kept being told how good the fish and chips were so it was about time I tried it for myself.Best fish and chips I have had for a long time and the ham egg and chips,delicious and about a fiver.Go before you shop them you may not buy so much.

A great full English breakfast had by my wife and I.A good price and very tasty. The only drawback is that I had to clean my own table.

OK Cafe, staff were friendly and attentive...tables cleared quickly so we could eat in comfort... the scones were a little dry but the jam was very tasty...

Early start to shopping so decided to try breakfast. Cafe, clean, warm, with fresh newspapers and smiling staff.Reasonable choice of items with hot drinks that are really hot. One of us had the full breakfast( hold the beans please), whilst I had eggs, toast, fruit and an excellent cup of tea.Cafe smells neutral , no greasy smell but no smell of invasive cheap disinfectent which can occur after tables are spray cleaned.I am disabled and use a wheelchair, all around access scores high , easy to use lift with plenty of space for the wheelchair to get between other tables. We will definatly go again, prob. try an evening meal this time as the menu looked as if there would be a reasonable choice for us both. The staff checked that everything was ok for me, good attention to training without being overwhelming.Sainsburys obviously has a good equalities training programme. People learn well if that learning is fun as well as informative and Sainsburys trainers have ensured that their staff have taken on board the equalities message. Your staff provide an inclusive and welcoming venue to disabled and non disabled people dropping in for a meal. Thank you.

Busy cafe great service freshly cooked good food friendly staff clean great prices have been a few times always consistent would recommend any timeof day for a good meal

Me and my Wife went into Sainsburys and called upstairs to The Cafe we had Tea for Two, excellent realy freindly welcoming staff real people, we were treated to some hospitality Cream Cakes by Ross who was a great freindly warm welcoming chap top man well done and thanks to everyone in the cafe for a great experience keep up the good work :)))

Sainsbury's cafe is a welcome site from the hassle of shopping! They make an awesome cup of tea and their English breakfast is perfect!Served Hot not cold and tastes divine. Staff are friendly and helpful too which makes a huge difference :)

I ordered large cappuccino and hot chocolate, cappuccino they served like late and hot chocolate wasn't hot at all.

I've been twice now and both times the food took half an hour to arrive and one accasion one of the meals wasn't what we ordered, also they had sold out of many options when it was only 12 noon. Not a good experience either time, I won't be going again

If you are visiting Morecambe this is a nice place to stop for a coffee or meal and if you wish take advantage of the shopping available on site. It is excellent value for money and a very good basic menu - breakfast type till 11.30 and then meals (others afterwards) The staff are extremely friendly, tables clean and meals served politely with a smile

I went to Sainsbury's cafe with my sister for the vege breakfast. It was really good, my sister eats there once in a while and introduced myself to it. It is well worth it I can assure you

Usually don't have a problem. I pop in most morning's before school run for a takeaway coffee. My one morning my 3 year old son had accidently dropped some stirrers and trying to do the right he went to put them back to have a member of staff shout at him abruptly. Not on

Come here often for just a coffee and a break. Most staff friendly an always helpful, they never fail to help and always willing to assist in carrying drinks to the table (wheelchair customer). Breakfast is very good also have had some early dinners there, never had a problem yet, handy having another disabled loo upstairs as well because quite often the downstairs on is occupied. Keep up the good service.
