Out to Lunch in Liverpool

Popped in for a takeaway order sandwich and was not disappointed by the variety of choices available. Reaching later int he day there were still plenty of sandwich options to choose from including hot and cold options. Great little place really enjoyed the food!

I have been a customer of this sandwich shop since it opened many years ago. However, a few weeks back one of the employees was standing waiting to serve customers with her fingers in her mouth biting her nails. Luckily I managed to get someone else to serve me. I did phone up the shop and report it and the supervisor was very understanding and said she would have a word with the girls as it was unacceptable. However today I went in and got a spicy lentil soup only to find a jet black hair in it! You need to so improve on your hygiene especially due to covid. I won't be returning.

Opted for breakfast here instead of at Hotel Indigo. Staff service was excellent - friendly and accomodting.

Called in and had a lovely breakfast and breakfast bap was delicious . Would recommend it when you are in Liverpool best meal we have had in last couple of days . Staff are really quick in serving you and are so friendly excellent .

Called into this local shop for our breakfast while on our sight seeing tour. Food was amazing and I can certainly say the bacon and sausage in white toast was to die for. Very friendly and what a local shop is all about in the city. Will definitely visit again.

Gutted that we only found this place on our last day. The sandwiches were fresh, tasty and filling . Staff were polite and friendly. The prices were clear and great value for what you get. Thoroughly recommend this place!

I love this place and have been for lunch & breakfast fast many times but disappointed last week when the person serving breakfast did not wash their hands after taking money then handling food. This should be basic hygiene regardless of the current circumstances. Hope things improve.

Mostly good lunches and breakfast sandwiches, when they listen to you. Four times this morning they asked if I want sauce on my sandwich and four times I said no - I still ended up back at the office with ketchup on it! Not the first time! And it wasn’t busy!

Popped out of my nearby hotel to grab a spot of lunch and stumbled upon this place. Amazing selection of fillings with good quality ingredients used. Staff are really friendly and had a good bit of banter with them.

This has got to be one of the best sandwich shops in Britain. The range and choice is fantastic.....even have anchovies! You can make your own combinations if their own don't provide enough choice. Staff friendly and helpful.

This sandwich shop is round the corner from my flat and have to admit it’s the best sandwich shop around! They offer a huge menu of a variety of sandwiches which you can add salad, change the bread etc basically make the whole sandwich your own! They also have a salad/fruit bar and hot meats, jacket potatoes and hot soup I’m still yet to try! The service is great as you order your sandwich it’s made right in front of you then you go to a different till to pay (this is a very efficient system!) they also offer many drinks and snacks too!

Always pop in here in the week for breckie. Do cracking toast, egg on toast and porridge. Always friendly service with a smile especially the small white haired older lady with the glasses, she's a gem.

Ordered a jacket potato with baked beans. Just after I placed the order saw one of the kitchen staff poor water in to the beans obviously because they had been there so long they were starting to dry up. When I got back to work and opened the box saw that the skin was completely burnt and when I was trying to eat it black bits were coming off and mixing with the beans, not a nice taste. On the plus side the potato and watered down beans were hot and you got plenty of them

Panini, sandwich, baguette di tutti i tipi con possibilità scegliere la farcitura. Staff molto cordiale e prezzi veramente convenienti per tutto quel che mangi. Purtroppo pochi sgabelli se vuoi consumare subito il tuo panino.

This is an excellent sandwich shop right outside Moorfields station. The range and choice of fillings is wonderful, providing lots of choice. Service friendly but a bit one paced

The sandwiches and salads that this sandwich shop sells are excellent. There are a few seats but it is very convenient from my office

Really enjoyed chicken and sweet corn soup today for dinner. It's a bit cold and robotic but the grub is good.

Jacket potato barely lukewarm. Mexican cheese didn't have the slightest hit of extra flavour - not sure where the 'Mexican' bit comes in. Coleslaw was cheap tasting. And quite dear compared to other lunch places. Avoid

Looks like a great set up but just thrown hot turkey bap away as dry and tasteless. Recently returned to work in Liverpool I will not be going here again.

Horrible Experiencia en esta tienda, sin guantes gastados de una determinada altura, agradablemente mullidos señora con pelo oscuro me sirve, además de su voz casi reventar mi oreja drum. Venga aquí para un descanso del trabajo, pero he experimentado un almuerzo del infierno. La comida sabía a que había estado allí por unos días (no estaba fresca) y el pan estaba duro además me encontré un pelo en mi pollo que era horrible. Aconsejo no ir a cerca de aquí.

Solía ser un habitual en salir a comer cuando estaba ubicado en la calle Tithebarn yo trabajé al lado de la carretera. Eso fue hace 20 años y que no había regresado desde que me habían cambiado de trabajo. Solía ser el mejor lugar para conseguir una buena calidad de sándwiches a precios razonables.

Regularidad semi a este establecimiento. Voy allí cuando trabajaba en la zona para el desayuno o la cena. Fantástica selección de pan, baguettes o barms para satisfacer todos los gustos. Normalmente tienen una de las carnes frescas en el barm o baguette que es precioso. El personal es agradable y hay más que suficiente personal, así que nunca esperando demasiado tiempo. Aconsejaría si local a la zona para entrar.

Tenía un sándwich de queso y jamón Wiltshire pareja cheddar que estaba recién hecho. Nada era demasiado problema para el personal, servicial y alegre. El café estaba delicioso así en tan solo £1. 50 excelente relación calidad-precio. Yo busque este restaurante nuevo

Desayuno en este lugar es bastante desorganizado, por decir lo menos. Visitamos la semana antes de Navidad. Un miembro del personal de los clientes teniendo una orden, la preparación de la orden, teniendo el pago de la orden antes de la siguiente persona es pedido su pedido y el proceso comienza de nuevo mientras la cola se acumula. Incluso si un segundo miembro personal vino a ayuda que ayudó a elaborar el orden actual antes de atender a nadie. Par de veces que he tenido que dejar porque no tienen que esperar 20 minutos de sobra para pedir comida para llevar! Un día la cola era más pequeña, así que decidimos llamar. Ojalá no lo hubiera hecho. Todavía siento náuseas una semana después. El tipo delante de mí pedido bacón crujiente y la chica irlandesa siempre muy servicial, decidimos exprimir el tocino sentado en la bañera de calentamiento en el contador claramente buscando lonchas que fresco adecuado en el plato caliente un poco más. Luego tomó el tocino misma chica en la cocina entonces se plantó en la puerta frotándose la cara y nariz, la próxima cosa que ella era el dorso tostadas frescas sin lavar las manos tostadora. Well located sandwich shop - really for take away but a few chairs are located inside which is good for a quick breakfast on the way to work or a meeting. Good quality food and nice staff

I bought a sandwich here which was £3.80, for that price you would expect it to be fantastic bit it was just ok. The staff did not wear gloves which is off putting and i'm not sure this would be acceptable by health and safety, it did put me off. The staff were quite to the point and weren't very warm or friendly. It's very different to when it was on Tithebarn Street, the staff were fantastic there and food seemed better

Fantastic place which is always really busy but they do have plenty of staff and ensure you are served quickOn this visit i had Sausage & Egg on toast which was superb, cumberland sausage and egg done just right.Ok price at £3I would recommend this place for breakfast take away or lunch

Normally the food from here is great and the service is always great. Today I decided to go for a turkey barm from the hot counter which cost £4.20 so you expect a decent butty, however, after picking all the fat off I was left with hardly any turkey on the sandwich and left hungry in work, very disappointed won't be eating here again ***

Great place for lunch and dined inside too once chosen and purchased sandwich. There was such a wide choice of what to have! Spoilt for choice!!

i visted this sandwich shop last month was highy disappointed, I coudnt believe. the staff didnt wear gloves ,they never washed their hands in between touching meats then cheeses and god knows what else, and they used a manky grey looking cloth to wipe their knives in between sandwitches i found that shocking, also there was bits in the butter which were getting spread on sandwitches, my sandwich got put straight in the bin when I left the shop, i would never ever eat from there id be terrified of food poising , most of the staff were ok abit to fast maybe they should slow down and listen to the customer abit more and definitely be cleaner

This place is always busy, which is always the sign of a good eatery. Prices are not low enough to support en mass eating. The breakfast was excellent, Cumberland sausage et al. Would avoid the mushrooms as tasteless and didn't add anything, but the rest are excellent.

They do an amazing range of sarnies, all different combinations and they are always so tasty. Difficult to choose what to order because they are all so good.

service and welcoming great - pancakes with fruit and maple syrup with coffee were terrific. interesting shop and character lighting throughout. well worth a visit.

Wide selection of sandwiches and salads, bit not cheap and if you ask the staff for anything they make you feel like they are far too busy to help you. Avoid

This is a very busy cafe. The Staff are very friendly and helpful if you want help making a choice. There is plenty of choices and the food is very good. You can eat in or takeaway, from what I saw it is mostly takeaway. You have to queue for your good choice and then queue to pay, that's the only drawback. Still worth a visit though.

I work in various areas of Liverpool, I can honestly say that " Out to Lunch" provides a fantastic and fast service for both Breakfast and Lunch. Their toast in the mornings, both brown or white, is great. The breakfast barms or toast, again will set you up for the day.For lunch, they provide a variety of cold fillings in a simple variety of nutritious breads. The hot plate serves warm carved meats for Sandwiches or barms. Towards the end of the lunch service, these are getting a bit dry and would certainly benefit from some lubrication like ' Gravy' . My favourite however is the SOUPS. Whoever makes these fresh soups, deserves a wage rise ( no I am not related). They are different each day and need no addition of seasoning. However, if you are not used to the final result / effect of lentils, beware. My wife was not amused with me recently.Finally, they have a sensible number of staff, as opposed to another nearby company, which I have also tried and find 'slow and tedious'.Lord G..

Been calling in here on and off for breakfast or lunch for a few years and finally decided no more. Many times I've gone in for breakfast and walked up to the counter and never been acknowledged even, and stood there for minutes before anyone says hello and takes the order. Breakfast is disorganised and a mess. Last time I went there found a hair in my breakfast? It's a food takeaway and if someone wants to order there food a certain way it's the staff job to serve it without attitude, after all the customers are keeping you in a job!I've never seen or heard any customers being rude to staff but the attitude of staff is appalling......particularly the gobby one who serves breakfast. Vile woman.The food is very fresh. That's one positive.

When I worked in town many several years ago I would go to Out to Lunch every day and was sad that I rarely got the chance to visit once I moved jobs. Whenever I'm in Liverpool town centre on a weekday I drop in for a sandwich. It's moved site and upped its game since I was a regular customer but it hasn't lost the ability to provide a beautiful sandwich and salad. The best for coronation chicken around and very reasonably priced.

Very friendly team and lovely freshly made food. They're not very good with geography though :) Always busy but service is never slow.

I recently got a sandwich from this shop what can I say how this shop has got staff is beyond me manager needs to have more respect for her staff don't no if she goin though the change in life how can you speak to staff the way you do I was getting served by a lovely young girl an the manager came over an had this young girl crying you need to go on a course to improve your customer service skills my love I would not spend another penny in this shop

Stumbled across here recently whilst visiting Liverpool. Had a smoked salmon and cucumber sandwich fit £2.40 I got 3 slices very thinly cut cucumbers and hardly any smoked salmon! More bread than anything! I would have taken it back had I not have saved it for my journey home! On the plus side they wrap it up nice! But that doesn't help when your starving and get a poor sandwich! I expected abit more! The structure of the place is good, place your order and pay at another counter. Won't re visit.

Nice butties and nice staff - but the old woman who works there is so nasty to them (in earshot of customers) that its uncomfortable when you go in.

Love the way they make your sandwich in front of you! The soups are delicious and the sandwich fillings plentiful. Reasonable pricing structure AND to avoid the long queue you can order in advance!They are very good if you need a sandwich buffet for a work meeting

Visited near here for a business meeting, and the sandwiches and service were so good, we went back twice more. All the bread is super fresh, and there is a wide range of delicious and imaginative fillings to choose from. Brilliant value compared to the bland brands nearby! The ladies serving are very friendly, and smiley. i wish I lived nearer, so I could visit more often.

Go here quite a lot. Staff Always Friendly. Food always delicious . I recommend the chilli garlic chicken sandwiches. They are devine.

We popped in here to buy a couple of sandwiches for our trip home on the train after staying a few nights in the Indigo hotel nearby.. This was a great call a fine selection of breads with loads of fillings my husband had the egg mayo with fresh ham, I had the smoked turkey. Both served on wonderful fresh bread ,a good size filling portion and good value..

It's hard to describe this in any other way, you really will be spoilt for choice! The food is all fresh and prepared in front of you but friendly staff. I would definitely recommend.

This place used to be great but has slowed and steadily gone down hill. The food itself is still quite tasty but the prices have been increasing and the portion sizes decreasing. I for one am not happy to be paying more and more for 2 pieces of bread with very little in it, frankly i've seen more filling in a £1 supermarket sandwich.For that reason they've lost a daily customer in me.

An excellent selection of sandwiches and plenty of options to make up your own. A selection of soups and hot food changing each day. Very efficient and even if the queue is long it moves really quickly.Incredible value for money and you usually get the added bonus of a laugh with the friendly staff.

Eat here a few times in a week while away from home with work. The staff are friendly and the food is really good!! I really can't fault it. If you are around and looking for somewhere to go for lunch, i recommend going here.

The title says it all. This place is brill - with no word of lie, they hand make the best sandwich right in front of you. Comprehensive choice too. If you're anywhere this part of Liverpool at lunchtime, this is the one to go for

We walked past Out to Lunch and thought it looked interesting and decided to stop in. OH. MY. GOD. First, the good stuff: I had curried chicken and salad in a baguette, which was delicious. I also had chicken noodle soup, which was tasty and definitely homemade. My husband got curried beef and rice soup, very good. But the sandwich that changed my life was my husband's gammon on a barm (which he was forced to split with me after I had a bite, but I gave him half my baguette). Slices of hot, freshly cooked gammon carved straight onto a buttered barm and topped with English mustard. Definitely a must have. My only wish is that they were open on Saturdays.

We travelled from Canada and stopped in Liverpool for a night. This shop was very close to our hotel so we gave it a try. After a week and a half in England, this was the best breakfast we had! I had the bacon and egg on toast. Coffee is nice too. The service was fast and most friendly to boot!

Used this place when I worked in Liverpool some years ago and it's nice to see that standards have remained high. Now located in a bigger premises on the corner of Chapel St and Old Hall St. They serve a very nice breakfast with proper bacon (thick cut and not much fat), the coffee is good and the selection from which you can have your sandwich made is extensive and tasty. Staff nice and friendly as well.
