Up there as one of my favourite restaurants in Manc. Great food, semi-regular rotating menu, amazing atmosphere, lovely staff / service. Incredibly well priced for the portion sizes too. Great place for a chill lunch or dinner - I recommend lunch in the sun at their outdoor seating area

Love this place. It’s our go to for the perfect Sunday brunch. The all day breakfasts are delicious. I have vegan and my husband has meat so they cater for all dietary requirements. The hash browns are the best! The service is always fantastic, the staff are great. It’s always nice and clean as well. One complaint is the first time we went we managed to snag a table with a large snoozing cat who we obviously refused to move (thems the rules!). Apparently it’s a neighbour and regularly visits but we have never seen him since sadly!! Anyway. Totally amazing and I highly recommend.

Great down to earth, traditional pub, with plenty of screens for sports, very friendly service and a near perfect pint of Guinness. Doesn’t look much from the outside, hence it’s often overlooked. Gents toilets are a bit grim if I’m honest, but that seems to be an essential feature of an old traditional English pub. Also, in case you’re a football fan, this pub, like the city of Manchester itself, is RED! 😛😍 UPDATE: our new local stitched us up today, for the manchester derby. We bagged a table and were enjoying a pre match drink, to then be told that they weren’t showing the united game. (They did tell us when we arrived, but that’s the usual joke from the bar staff). What kind of united pub does that to its regulars? 🤔🤷♂️ Leaving with less than 30 minutes to KO we had little chance of finding a spot in another pub, so we had to watch at home. So, let me take back my comment about this being a united pub. It’s absolutely not! I’m sure they lost a few customers who went today to watch the match. Three here that won’t ever be bothering the City Road Arms with our loyalty and hard-earned money. Adiós! 👋😡 I won’t miss the disgusting gents toilets 🤮

Excellent pizza and a good selection of beers (although I'd like to see them rotate more regularly). The staff are very attentive even when it's very busy. One point off for atmosphere only because it's often full of young children and dogs!

Just far too expensive for people to afford in the present climate. Prices have nearly doubled after the takeover. 2 elderly couples food came to £96 for lunch, you can't do that every week, and don't forget Wetherspoons is 2 blocks down, it was never a problem for previous tenants. The food used to be spot on.

Just popped in for a coupla drinks before an Academy gig. Really nice place, and with big-screen Prem footy. Bit disappointing that you can't see the drinks prices anywhere online beforehand...but it turns out that it's pretty cheap - like, £3.60/pint for Timothy Taylor's bitter (ABV 4.3%)! I could've stayed there all night drinking that, it tastes great, and at an amazing price. Moretti will set you back £5.15 though, if you're only a lager drinker.
