Sunday Brunch. Absolutely fantastic. Staff are so pleasant and friendly. Excellent coffee. Great menu - caters for everyone. Dog friendly. If we lived nearby this would be a regular haunt. Thank you for a real treat.

Told staff when I went in that I was there for food and drink. Brought coffee but no menu. Two other customers came in and sat near me - they were brought menus straight away - I had to ask for a menu. Staff member came and took their order - I was ignored. After another ten minutes I paid for coffee and left. Went to Thyme Out - should have gone there in the first place!

Called in by chance and we were lucky enough to get a table, would definitely recommend booking though. We all had a different dish and each plate was emptied. Just delicious food, will be going back next time I’m in the area

Had a lovely experience today at Folk - the atmosphere/decor is stunning and so are the staff! Iona specifically was amazing, she served me a perfect margarita and we had a great chat:) she’s so smiley and warm, I will definitely be returning!! Thanks iona!

Not jam packed on a Sunday. Staff took their time to seat me (as requested by team who was not at the door but wondering around), after being sat it took them 15 minutes to get my order. While waiting I had to head to counter land ask for a jug of watergʻ would have to wait until a staff member remembered how to host people. It did felt personal and xenophobic as staff kept resisting to give me a good experience until I started writing this review.

Flat beers and sticky surfaces. When I asked about a specific beer what type, I was told 'larger' with a face. I'm visiting home and I'm not understanding how people can not smoke out side with their pint, but big wet dogs are allowed in 🤷🏼‍♂️

I visited this restaurant today and while I found the coffee and setting quite nice, the customer service was absolutely appalling. A young staff member was the rudest I've ever encountered. We waited over 30 minutes to place our order, even after politely asking a couple of times if we could order. Instead of helping us, he continued doing everything else but taking our order. This level of rudeness is unacceptable, and unfortunately, it has completely ruined the experience for us. We ended up going across the road to Mary and Archie, where the customer experience was far superior. I won’t be returning here.

We ordered tea, coffee and smashed Avacado. Drinks never came until we asked the question when we saw staff giggling over a wet smashed piece of paper with our orders lying on the floor. They never apologised for it and when it came the food and coffee was terrible to the extend that I had to reorder a cup od tea( to replaced one of worst coffees I had tasted) and banana loaf since I was terribly hungry-otherwise I would have just left. I paid 45 quid for the entire shambles whilst we could have a most amazing at the old bakery next door at the third of the price. Awful, place and they never asked if we were happy with the food although I passed the whole thing back and reordered

Went on Sunday for a roast, unfortunately they don't do them any more. So we decided to eat anyhow I had the cheeseburger and fries my partner had fried chicken and fries. Both really enjoyed our meals the service was brilliant and the atmosphere was great, the sun was shining so we could enjoy the terrace.

I’ve just had the BEST chicken burger from Folk ❤️ I’m now officially obsessed! Its a burger and a drink £12 absolute bargain! I am a chicken burger connoisseur and I have tried lots of places and I am certain folk is the best! I don’t know what you guys are doing but keep it up! I will be spreading the good burger news 😘😘😘

Love love love Folk. Best burgers in Didsbury, and when they do the Frozen Margaritas it's impeccable. Great cocktail selection, lovely and friendly staff and amazing food. Every time we decide to come out to Burton road for food and drinks we end up coming here.

UPDATE: So not only are you rude, but you are also liars. First of all, it was not a ‘coffee’, it was a chai latte which is a type of tea. Secondly the first chai latte DID make it to my table and I drank it without being told it had dairy. You clearly missed the part where I said: “After drinking it, I was told by another more conscientious staff member (who didn’t take my original order) that the chai latte powder actually has dairy in it”. I only found out it had dairy AFTER going to order another one when one of your team members helpfully told me unlike the first member of staff. Actually you’ll find I don’t leave bad reviews “wherever I go”, I have left good reviews on many platforms (not just Google) - with one being a very helpful hotel manager via Google - the type of manager you are clearly not. I only left this review after a SECOND disastrous visit. I was very willing to give the benefit of the doubt and avoid posting a negative review after the first visit. Also if you have to get personal with a customer just to score ego points, it says a lot about you as a manager and as a business. I also commended one of your staff for actually being helpful - so your claim of me being ‘negative’ does not hold water. My feedback was for other customers like me with allergies - a serious health concern. Not for you. As it is clear you don’t take it seriously at all. Maybe when you land yourself a lawsuit in future due to your carelessness you will learn your lesson. It’s also very telling that out of all the negative reviews left here, mine is the only one you decided to falsify and get personal with. I’ll let other viewers do their due diligence and connect the dots as to why that might be. ———————— If you have allergies - avoid. This place does not take allergies seriously. Unfortunately I cannot give this place a good review. The first time I went there (months ago) I told the team of my dairy and gluten intolerance and asked for an oat milk latte, they instead gave me a cow milk latte and I didn’t realise until I drank some. Once I made them aware the waitress did not seem phased or apologetic - although she changed it (but still charged me for it, despite it being their error). I ended up feeling very ill later on in the day. I thought I’d give them another chance and visit again a few months later. Well, yet again it was a disaster. I was ignored by a lot (not all) of the staff when I sat down. It was not really that busy either. Eventually I was told that almost half the menu (which happened to have a lot of the allergen-safe food) was not available to order from the kitchen. This meant very limited options, and their gluten and dairy free options are already quite limited as it is. I told them about my allergies and I just opted for a chai latte with oat milk. After drinking it, I was told by another more conscientious staff member (who didn’t take my original order) that the chai latte powder actually has dairy in it - a new mix they now use instead. I was very upset by this as I had made my allergies very clear from the start. I should have known they didn’t take my allergies seriously as usually restaurants bring a manager to take an order if allergies are mentioned - but this place didn’t. A lot of the staff didn’t seem that welcoming nor did they seem to show much care about failing to protect a customer from getting ill. The only thing the team did right is to take the drink cost off my bill this time after their error, which I appreciated. Although it doesn’t help me avoid the ill symptoms faced later in the day. I doubt I’ll return. I’m hoping at the very least they learn from this and start to take allergies seriously. My allergy is moderate-to-serious but others may be more severe/life-threatening. In 2024 it is just unacceptable.

Food was absolutely amazing and big portions even though off small plates menu . The halloumi was so amazing! Staff really friendly. Definitely going back and definitely recommend.

Wasn't sure what to expect but really exceeded my expectations! The service was lovely. The two guys behind the bar were an absolute laugh and were so helpful. The food was so spot on, hit every craving we had and tasted really fresh. We live in Manc city centre and thought to venture out for a meal, absolutely worth it and can't wait to be back!

It was jam packed as expected for a weekend brunch, however the servers did look after us and ensured we weren’t waiting for long. I had mushrooms on toast with poached eggs and my partner tried the cheeseburger and it was so delicious and hearty we had to go take a nap afterwards. Service was quick and servers very attentive. I wish there were more hot drinks options. For a brunch place, it seemed very basic. Chai latte I ordered was perfect so can’t complain much!!! Will definitely visit again😇.

Booked and came especially for sunday roast as the reviews and instagram and website all said how great they were. Website still has sunday roast menu on, no mention anywhere that they stopped doing them, but sat down and were told ‘they havent done those for 2 weeks’ so left for the parrs wood instead. Update your website and insta!

Food excellent superb location …soo pissed with visit today… no friendly greeting atmosphere just ignorance!…I love love but not when I want to order drink & food, so much so, that the two working behind the bar had to be interrupted from their cuddling to take our order… they seemed annoyed that they were interrupted, no orders taken at the table anymore! & service … other than bringing drinks individually to the table no spoons, no sugar offered. Plates of food slat on the table presentation ruined eggs slid no condiments offered & back to the hugging!!! Food took 28 minutes to arrive…not like any experience we have had here in 10 plus years… hope this is a one off

I recommend the chicken small plate. My friends and I got all the dips to share and 3 small plates to share as well. There was enough in the dips for at least 4 of us to share and all of them were delicious. The chicken and the prawn pil pil were excellent (photographed) and we also had the halloumi which was served in a tasty sauce. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was great too.

The beef Sunday roast was lovely. Mariah met us and seated us at our table then was our waitress throughout she was really nice and helpful and even boxed the leftovers up that I could take home for the dog. Thoroughly enjoyed I would visit again :)

I had a lovely morning hike with my daughter and ended up here for lunch. Couldn't have worked out better! A great place to go for Sunday lunch and an excellent price to cap it all.

I’m a local to Didsbury and this is one of my top places, the vibe inside is great and I have eaten here a number of times. I would fully recommend.

Food was good However very limited menu

I had the English breakfast which was good value for money. I found the bread too hard and the bake beans were not traditional beans. I would return for another breakfast.

Came here for brunch and was so disappointed with the service. It wasn’t busy but for some reason the staff seated and served 4 other tables before we had to go up to the counter and order as no one was coming to us and we’d been sat there for awhile. We asked for 2 lattes which took 15 minutes to get to us. We ordered avocado to go with the meal which didn’t come out until we’d eaten most of our food. Staff seemed very polite to everyone but we were just forgotten about and had a bad experience because of this. Wouldn’t recommend.

Our experience was ruined by the table across the aisle. A woman with four badly behaved and rude children that she let run riot meant that our evening out was a point. The poor people on the table next to them had an even worse time. The guys behind us were really annoyed too. The kids were screaming the place down, running around the restaurant and being nasty to people. They weren’t toddlers - these were aged between 7&11 I guess - so if they don’t know how to behave they should be told. And we’re talking 7pm onwards so not exactly an early evening start time for kids that age. Irresponsible. We generally like children but decided these ones were the exception to the rule. That they were running around the restaurant is not safe for them or for the staff and yet no one - not the mother and not the restraint team - did anything. What if they’d caused an accident or got hurt? While it’s not for the restaurant staff to deal with the kids directly, if one table is ruining things for three other tables, shouldn’t the restaurant do something in the interests of fairness and customer care? Such poor care from the team that it ruined what could have been a lovely catch up with friends. I think the food was decent but to be honest, we were too fed up to clock the food quality.

The food was good although quite pricey for what you get. Service was slow but the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My one criticism is when we booked a table we weren't informed it would be outside, despite having heaters it was freezing!

We were a group of 5. We were met with a shocking attitude from one of the waitresses to be honest. We sat down and were not given a Menu, weren't sure if we needed to order at the bar (I know we didn't have to before, when we've been a year ago) anyway, I approached one of the waitresses and she was quite rude (same one from the start). Anyway, after we got to the point of ordering our food, she told us all of the things we picked were not available. Not sure why we've not been told any of this during the 20 minutes we've been there before we finally got to order, because we would've gone somewhere else, because we didn't fancy anything else on the menu. It was freezing outside and we were tired so had to change all of our orders, some had burgers and some ended up having a portion of chips or a humus dip because they didn't have some of the bigger dishes. The food we had was good, but the service was very disappointing, all the way to the end from that girl with the reddish hair. I doubt any of us will be going back unfortunately.

Just been in today and ordered the cheeseburger and my wife ordered the eggs florentine with bacon and …..WOW!!! Probably one of the best burgers I’ve had !! Hats off to the guys there you are all doing a top job

Went for Sunday Brunch. There wasn't anything particularly bad about the place, and the food was okay, (sausages were particularly good) , but typical of this type of place, the coffee is a bit like warm, and over priced and the cup too small. I'd love it if they did a bottomless coffee pot with a full breakfast. By the time your breakfast arrives your coffee is either drunk or cold. Also, they don't do decaffeinated tea. Which wouldn't be so hard.

Been to FOLK. a few times now, so thought I would leave a review. Service and food is always the best. Always try something new when I come in and never disappointed! Today I got served by jorj and Curtis. There services was amazing, quick to assist me in any of my needs and asked my how my food was an if I needed anything. I went on the Sunday, so I ordered off the Sunday menu. I got the Cod it was amazing and I really enjoyed it and would get it again. The sauce it comes with was 10/10 ! Highly recommend this place for the service, food and vibes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had a wonderful sunday roast, beef was cooked to perfection. Really nice atmosphere as well, was able to comfortably sit outside on a cold & wet afternoon with it still feeling cosy.

food was fine, nothing special but £3.50 for orange juice and £1.50 when subbing a fried egg for extra mushrooms on a fry up feels like a bit of a joke. main reason for poor review is service was daft. staff hovering around while NOT taking orders or checking in. drinks took 10/15 minutes to arrive, asked for water at the start of the ordering, we were told they were washing glasses, asked twice more during the me before being brought 2 glasses 40 minutes later when there were 3 of us at the table. at the end we asked for gratuity to be taken off because we did not feel that we had had any really special service, waitress/host went 'why?'. when I double checked that was what she'd said, she said she had to ask - we said we'd had to ask for drinks a few times, hadn't been checked in on or really had anyone chat to us or acknowledge us. she said 'yeah we have been busy so we can't provide that kind of service'. the service of bringing us drinks? if you can't provide extra service, why do you expect an extra fiver to be paid on top of the bill? it left a sour taste in the mouth, and while I have previously enjoyed it here, this interaction means I won't come back and will encourage others to go for similar food at any of the other businesses in the area.
