Wonderful food, great atmosphere. A real gem in West Didsbury

Decorated well. Great selection of beers. Staff let the establishment down. Poor awareness and very poor service. The gentleman behind the bar today 15.03 had a poor attitude, was super rude and dismissibe when asked where the facilities where, very occupied on his mobile. The young lady's speed of service was slow. I hadn't even finished my sentence to let her know we were going to sit outside to order, she remained preoccupied with her conversation and giggles with the other member of staff. I had to go back in to order . Won't be visiting until the staff have a refresh on great customer service.

Came for drinks after work, really glad I did. Thank you to the staff for being so accommodating it really makes a difference. Mia and and an Irish gentleman sorry I forgot to ask your name! You’re clearly very good at your job. Just meant a lot especially after a stressful day. I’ll be back!

Very good food and drinks, service was lovely. Accepts dogs which is always a plus for us. Only downside was that food took long time to arrive even on a Friday lunch time and not packed. Still we would love to come back and try other plates.

Brought our newborn here for lunch on a Monday. Friendly staff. Great food. Came before the slight lunch rush so had good space and felt like we could take our time

Have to come here to tell people how bad the cocktails are. The refurb has made the bar look really smart but the cocktails here are absolutely horrendous. We had to send two back because they were undrinkable and they did another two which were even worse. Worst margarita we’ve ever had which was garnished with table salt around the rim - absolutely amateur. One of the girls on the bar gave us a smarmy look when we spoke to the person who served us even though we were polite. Do better and people won’t complain! Don’t waste your money people.

Visited today for brunch. Great menu, so much choice especially for non-meat eaters! Food was delicious, service excellent and staff lovely. They made an extremely kind and generous gesture to my friend who had just finished her chemo and radiotherapy treatment this morning! Go visit now for some top scran!!

Food consistently good but service inconsistent. Some of the people who work there are absolutely lovely, some treat you like you’re a nuisance for daring to enter. Brunch food is lovely (potato hash was a stand out and full of flavour) but just be prepared that we didn’t seem to have the ‘wow’ experience so many others seem to have had.

It was alright, not really my scene. It seems good for rich hipsters that was seemingly the main crowd. The staff were nice my drinks were decent but again not really my scene. Definitely a decent place if you’re into this kind of thing.

Restaurant is very cute, and in a good location in West Didsbury. Food was OK, although roast dinners were a bit cold but the vegetables were very well cooked, and the giant yorkshires were cracking. Service was poor; very slow and disinterested. Recognise that it’s close to Christmas but it was not very busy, and staff seemed more interested in chatting to each other. Gave us incorrect menus then our waitress looked at us like we were daft when we tried ordering from this incorrect menu. Asked for more time to look at the correct menu before we ordered, so she disappeared for 20 minutes and we had to find and ask another person to take our order. Had high hopes as it came recommended, but overall disappointing unfortunately. Ironic service charge that couldn’t be amended or removed too…

What a place, great bar staff, great drinks selection. Variety of entertainment and inside and outside option. Tonight's experience was a festive choir!!

Love it here! Service is always great and food is lovely. One of my fave brunch spots outside of the city centre.

The new menu here is amazing and the staff are so friendly. Troy looked after us so well! I recommend the chicken schnitzel and the steak. Also the Golden Delicious cocktail is unreal.

They've got the glass teardrop Oranginas, a rare offering I last happened across in France. Endangered? Maybe, maybe not. But need I say more my sober friends?

Food was decent, service not so great. Very disorganised. Customers came in and helped themselves to a table and therefore "jumped the queue" whilst we were sat outside waiting for a space inside to be freed up. They even took us over to the table, then when they realised another customer had taken it, walked us back outside... When we finally got inside at a couple of seats at the bar and asked for a drinks menu, one of them barely looked up and said "they're behind you" - I had to walk over and fetch my own menu.

Sunday Brunch. Absolutely fantastic. Staff are so pleasant and friendly. Excellent coffee. Great menu - caters for everyone. Dog friendly. If we lived nearby this would be a regular haunt. Thank you for a real treat.

Le dije al personal cuando entré que estaba allí para comer y beber. Traje café, pero sin menú. Otros dos clientes vinieron y se sentaron cerca de mí - les trajeron menús enseguida - tuve que pedir un menú. Un miembro del personal vino y tomó su orden - fui ignorado. Después de otros diez minutos pagué el café y me fui. Fui a Tomillo Fuera - debería haber ido allí en primer lugar!

Called in by chance and we were lucky enough to get a table, would definitely recommend booking though. We all had a different dish and each plate was emptied. Just delicious food, will be going back next time I’m in the area

Not jam packed on a Sunday. Staff took their time to seat me (as requested by team who was not at the door but wondering around), after being sat it took them 15 minutes to get my order. While waiting I had to head to counter land ask for a jug of watergʻ would have to wait until a staff member remembered how to host people. It did felt personal and xenophobic as staff kept resisting to give me a good experience until I started writing this review.

Flat beers and sticky surfaces. When I asked about a specific beer what type, I was told 'larger' with a face. I'm visiting home and I'm not understanding how people can not smoke out side with their pint, but big wet dogs are allowed in 🤷🏼‍♂️

I visited this restaurant today and while I found the coffee and setting quite nice, the customer service was absolutely appalling. A young staff member was the rudest I've ever encountered. We waited over 30 minutes to place our order, even after politely asking a couple of times if we could order. Instead of helping us, he continued doing everything else but taking our order. This level of rudeness is unacceptable, and unfortunately, it has completely ruined the experience for us. We ended up going across the road to Mary and Archie, where the customer experience was far superior. I won’t be returning here.

Pedimos té, café y aplastamos Avacado. Las bebidas nunca llegaron hasta que hicimos la pregunta cuando vimos al personal riéndose sobre un pedazo de papel roto húmedo con nuestras órdenes tiradas en el suelo. Nunca se disculparon por ello y cuando se trataba de la comida y el café era terrible hasta el punto de que tuve que reordenar una taza de té (para reemplazar uno de los peores cafés que había probado) y pan de plátano ya que tenía mucha hambre - de lo contrario me habría ido. Pagué 45 libras por todo el shambles mientras que pudimos tener un increíble en la vieja panadería de al lado al tercio del precio. Horrible, lugar y nunca nos preguntaron si estábamos contentos con la comida aunque pasé todo de vuelta y reordené

Went on Sunday for a roast, unfortunately they don't do them any more. So we decided to eat anyhow I had the cheeseburger and fries my partner had fried chicken and fries. Both really enjoyed our meals the service was brilliant and the atmosphere was great, the sun was shining so we could enjoy the terrace.

I’ve just had the BEST chicken burger from Folk ❤️ I’m now officially obsessed! Its a burger and a drink £12 absolute bargain! I am a chicken burger connoisseur and I have tried lots of places and I am certain folk is the best! I don’t know what you guys are doing but keep it up! I will be spreading the good burger news 😘😘😘

Love love love Folk. Best burgers in Didsbury, and when they do the Frozen Margaritas it's impeccable. Great cocktail selection, lovely and friendly staff and amazing food. Every time we decide to come out to Burton road for food and drinks we end up coming here.

UPDATE: So not only are you rude, but you are also liars. First of all, it was not a ‘coffee’, it was a chai latte which is a type of tea. Secondly the first chai latte DID make it to my table and I drank it without being told it had dairy. You clearly missed the part where I said: “After drinking it, I was told by another more conscientious staff member (who didn’t take my original order) that the chai latte powder actually has dairy in it”. I only found out it had dairy AFTER going to order another one when one of your team members helpfully told me unlike the first member of staff. Actually you’ll find I don’t leave bad reviews “wherever I go”, I have left good reviews on many platforms (not just Google) - with one being a very helpful hotel manager via Google - the type of manager you are clearly not. I only left this review after a SECOND disastrous visit. I was very willing to give the benefit of the doubt and avoid posting a negative review after the first visit. Also if you have to get personal with a customer just to score ego points, it says a lot about you as a manager and as a business. I also commended one of your staff for actually being helpful - so your claim of me being ‘negative’ does not hold water. My feedback was for other customers like me with allergies - a serious health concern. Not for you. As it is clear you don’t take it seriously at all. Maybe when you land yourself a lawsuit in future due to your carelessness you will learn your lesson. It’s also very telling that out of all the negative reviews left here, mine is the only one you decided to falsify and get personal with. I’ll let other viewers do their due diligence and connect the dots as to why that might be. ———————— If you have allergies - avoid. This place does not take allergies seriously. Unfortunately I cannot give this place a good review. The first time I went there (months ago) I told the team of my dairy and gluten intolerance and asked for an oat milk latte, they instead gave me a cow milk latte and I didn’t realise until I drank some. Once I made them aware the waitress did not seem phased or apologetic - although she changed it (but still charged me for it, despite it being their error). I ended up feeling very ill later on in the day. I thought I’d give them another chance and visit again a few months later. Well, yet again it was a disaster. I was ignored by a lot (not all) of the staff when I sat down. It was not really that busy either. Eventually I was told that almost half the menu (which happened to have a lot of the allergen-safe food) was not available to order from the kitchen. This meant very limited options, and their gluten and dairy free options are already quite limited as it is. I told them about my allergies and I just opted for a chai latte with oat milk. After drinking it, I was told by another more conscientious staff member (who didn’t take my original order) that the chai latte powder actually has dairy in it - a new mix they now use instead. I was very upset by this as I had made my allergies very clear from the start. I should have known they didn’t take my allergies seriously as usually restaurants bring a manager to take an order if allergies are mentioned - but this place didn’t. A lot of the staff didn’t seem that welcoming nor did they seem to show much care about failing to protect a customer from getting ill. The only thing the team did right is to take the drink cost off my bill this time after their error, which I appreciated. Although it doesn’t help me avoid the ill symptoms faced later in the day. I doubt I’ll return. I’m hoping at the very least they learn from this and start to take allergies seriously. My allergy is moderate-to-serious but others may be more severe/life-threatening. In 2024 it is just unacceptable.

Food was absolutely amazing and big portions even though off small plates menu . The halloumi was so amazing! Staff really friendly. Definitely going back and definitely recommend.

Wasn't sure what to expect but really exceeded my expectations! The service was lovely. The two guys behind the bar were an absolute laugh and were so helpful. The food was so spot on, hit every craving we had and tasted really fresh. We live in Manc city centre and thought to venture out for a meal, absolutely worth it and can't wait to be back!

It was jam packed as expected for a weekend brunch, however the servers did look after us and ensured we weren’t waiting for long. I had mushrooms on toast with poached eggs and my partner tried the cheeseburger and it was so delicious and hearty we had to go take a nap afterwards. Service was quick and servers very attentive. I wish there were more hot drinks options. For a brunch place, it seemed very basic. Chai latte I ordered was perfect so can’t complain much!!! Will definitely visit again😇.

Booked and came especially for sunday roast as the reviews and instagram and website all said how great they were. Website still has sunday roast menu on, no mention anywhere that they stopped doing them, but sat down and were told ‘they havent done those for 2 weeks’ so left for the parrs wood instead. Update your website and insta!

Food excellent superb location …soo pissed with visit today… no friendly greeting atmosphere just ignorance!…I love love but not when I want to order drink & food, so much so, that the two working behind the bar had to be interrupted from their cuddling to take our order… they seemed annoyed that they were interrupted, no orders taken at the table anymore! & service … other than bringing drinks individually to the table no spoons, no sugar offered. Plates of food slat on the table presentation ruined eggs slid no condiments offered & back to the hugging!!! Food took 28 minutes to arrive…not like any experience we have had here in 10 plus years… hope this is a one off

I recommend the chicken small plate. My friends and I got all the dips to share and 3 small plates to share as well. There was enough in the dips for at least 4 of us to share and all of them were delicious. The chicken and the prawn pil pil were excellent (photographed) and we also had the halloumi which was served in a tasty sauce. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was great too.
