We attended Thyme Out today. We ordered our favourites Veggie Burrito and Meat Burrito. I'm sorry to say they were disgusting. I m not sure if you have a new chef but they made us both feel ill. Its a shame really Thyme Out is one of our favorite places to eat. Not sure if there is a new chef ? Usually the food is perfect..... It was a take Away meal !

As strangers in town, we stumbled across Thyme Out for breakfast and what a lucky find! As aficionados of the Full English, this was the best we could recall in a long time, with the homemade hash browns the absolute standout item. However, this is no greasy spoon as evidenced by the array of high quality plates arriving at neighbouring tables. Highly recommended, but get there early!

Food was pleasant enough but was shocked to have an "optional" service charge added to our bill this sort of behaviour is becoming more common in restaurants but surprised to see it in a cafe type operation. We declined a service charge I pointed out that this is England not U.S.A.

Food was nice. We took a few things off the breakfast and were offered extra bacon/sausage as an alternative which was nice. Sadly the hash brown was inedible for both me and my partner. Hard and strange taste. Service was okay and fast. Over £40 for two breakfasts and two juices.

Not a great vibe here. Walked in today at lunchtime to a woman with short brown hair staring at us blankly as if we’d just walked into her home… no greeting or warmness, no offer of a table just a look to say “what do you want?!” We had to ask if there were any tables and told there were pods outside and I’m not sure who would want to sit inside winter pods in the blistering summer. Walked back in and all three staff again too interested in themselves and their conversation to notice 2 customers just left. We went to folk instead and were greeted with smiles and great service. A shame because I just moved to the area but I will not go back and will not be recommending this place.

A very lovely place to get breakfast or brunch! We arrived mid morning and there was a spare table outside, with plenty of spare tables inside. This is the kind of place you could easily visit many times, working your way through the menu! I liked that the server brought complementary water to the table - I wish all restaurants would do this. Portion size for the price was good. Cappuccino was wonderful.

Been coming back here on numerous occasions. I find the brunch culture in the city centre to be quite intense and full of tourist nowadays. Thyme Out offers something very relaxed whilst matching high standards of food and drink. Some of the best coffee I’ve tried matched with a stacked menu that always delivers. Staff are always warm and friendly. Want to give a special shout out to Adam who looks like a young Martin Scorsese. If you’re ever there and want to talk films, he’s your man.

Came for breakfast with our 2 young children, brought our drinks over and our youngest nudged the table slightly and the coffee spilt everywhere as the table was so wobbly, they asked if my husband wanted a new one and of course he said yes as it was half gone, I said I think it’s because the table is so wobbly it’s split and the girl said it’s just one of those tables. The food came and it didn’t look the best nor did it taste the best, the ‘homemade hash brown’ looked like burnt fried bread and was mushy inside! We came as it was recommended by a few people but I believe it has recently been taken over by new owners. Will not be returning and don’t recommend.

This used to be my go-to place for breakfast and lunch in Didsbury. Food was really good/ service was usually decent and the place was packed out. Went back with a friend for first time in months last week and it had been transformed - and not for the better. First of all, there was only one other person in there, which I thought was strange, not realising there had been a change of owner. We ordered the full didsbury, but it came without the advertised sausages and had an incredibly salty and soggy hash brown, cheap bacon, big salty mushroom, toast and beans. Wasn’t nice at all, for £14, and we complained and got money knocked off the bill. The waiter just looked resigned. Used to have a good, positive atmosphere and was always busy but now feels sad and neglected. Big shame.

Recently visited here on a Sunday for brunch and it was really lovely. A small wait for a table but they managed to accommodate us inside fairly swiftly. Food was excellent, husband had focaccia with chicken and stuffing which he said was excellent, I had halloumi toast from the specials menu, which was okay but unfortunately not as exciting as the other meal. There is a kids menu and son had beans on toast from that. Coffees were really good. Overall a very pleasant visit and on the whole excellent food. Would certainly visit again at a quieter time and try something different from the menu. Limited parking (unless you pay at the hospital across the road).

Really incredible food here, something for everyone, if you're a meat eater or vegan/veggie. I love how their hash browns are so different from others I've had. The food is always fabulous and great quality ingredients. Brilliant coffee too! The food never dissapoints. The service was very fast and efficient, the staff were clearly working hard and doing a thorough job. HOWEVER - I genuinely don't think I saw any of the team smile once during our time there. A friendly, warm waiter makes all the difference. That's just about the only con to this fab cafe.

Very dissapointed with my Sunday Brunch experience here. The staff seemed to be miserable and I found some of the servers to be rude. The food was OK but definitely not worth the price. We sat on one of the tables near the toilets / kitchen and it was as pokey as ever, the atmosphere felt as though we should have been sat out by the bins. One postive is that the coffee was nice. Went to get coffee for take away on the 20th of January for my gf and me. I asked two flat whites and an almond croissant for take away. The staff who took my order asked me to wait outside. In mid January it was raining cold and very miserable outside, felt a bit discriminating, because there was nobody waiting or standing inside so there was plenty of room for me just to wait in a corner. I was waiting outside freezing alone, when they brought me a latte and a flat white, not what I’d ordered. She was aware of it and told me she’d made me the wrong drink yet she still brought it out for me and offered that I could get a flat white instead as I ordered. I said I needed to go and left. The almond croissant was stale tasted like a day or two old. It Wasn’t a great experience at all.

Not sure what's happened to this place, but last two visits have been particularly poor and probably won't go back which is a shame because this was a reliable, local place to go. The breakfast I had on my last visit was genuinely inedible - think something had gone off and I couldn't work out what so left most of the meal. What's strange is I ordered a dish that's been on the menu years and has always been good - it looked quite different to before, but tasted noticeably worse... Has this place changed ownership or chefs recently?

Really gone downhill.. Seated at a table on a Thursday afternoon when it was extremely quiet with my 11 month old. Brought out a high chair when I was seated but following that , 27 minutes passed and not a single person came to my table. Unable to get up and chase someone so we could even order a drink as it was just myself and the baby. Left after this point as baby started screaming and saw a waitress en route out who apologised and said she had multiple tables. It was extremely empty inside - possibly 3 tables at most and other couple outside with me were also ignored. Unsure what she was doing. Used to be a weekly visit.. Now I’d rather the George Charles where the service is excellent. What a shame. The visit the week before, we also had to listen to loud swearing and arguing coming from the kitchen. It’s awful now - avoid.

Unfortunately Thyme Out seems to have gone through some changes, food-wise it has been plagued by change rather than blessed, menu items that were worth just going for are now complete failures, seemingly batch cooked scrambled egg and hash brown patties steamed and underseasoned, combined with watery coleslaw and brown expired guac gave me heartburn within minutes and had to run to the toilet after leaving the establishment. Glad I didn't finish the whole burrito as I knew I was going to regret it. Being a chef myself I felt second hand embarrassment that someone was happy sending that out to a paying customer. I've been a regular customer here for nearly a decade and I must say it will be very difficult to convince myself to return after this experience.

So full disclosure, I have been a long standing customer of Thyme out for a number of years. I don’t want to tell you that it was always perfect and now it has changed hands that it just isn’t any good anymore. What I want to point out is that I have had 2 bad experiences there in the last few weeks and when I decided not to go back I wasn’t going to leave a review but I asked the few staff that have just left why it has turned so sour there and they have told me the new owners are a toxic bunch. From telling the staff that they are not going to get any more than minimum wage because “You get paid enough!” In a cost-of-living crisis this is a pay cut on minimum wage. Not learning any of the staff’s names. A grown man (the owner) shouting across the café at a 22 year old female member of staff when the room is full of customers eating breakfast. The father and son ownership duo insulting and berating another young woman cornered in one of the igloos in the garden for more than 30 minutes Finally accusing the people that work there, long hours, on their feet without breaks for minimum wage of stealing with no proof. This is a toxic environment, and they should be ashamed of themselves. I would suggest they have no experience but they do own other venues. I am also told similar things go on there, but I have no idea if that is true or not. They bought Thyme out and have redecorated it but a quick look and you will see they have thrown it together with as little care as they treat the staff and the customers. The furniture is ill made, and the painting looks like it was done by a child. It wasn’t perfect before, I have long waits for food, drinks could take a while, mistakes happen but the atmosphere was good and it felt wholesome. Now its cold, dark, empty and soulless and that table in the middle of the room directly in front of the door is a ridiculous place to seat someone.

What an abysmal start to 2023. Was looking forward to brunch with a friend having eaten here and enjoyed in the past. Today the staff appeared to be suffering from holiday hangovers. Ordered food from male waiter 1 who appeared very vague. Waited 30 mins or more for eggs/ mushrooms/ toast. Asked male waiter 2 what had happened to our food. He came back and said they had only done part of it (?), apologised and said it would be smashed through the kitchen and coffees would be on the house. Came back and said ‘Are you coeliac or do you just want gluten free ( I had asked for gf bread)’ Er why? ‘They put Worcester sauce in the mushrooms.’ Ok, good legitimate question. Zero for customer service skills. A better approach would have been ‘We’ve noticed you’ve requested gf bread, we put Worcester sauce in the mushrooms would you like us not to add it to your meal?’ Waited again for food to point where I was going to chase or give up when it finally arrived. We both ate a mouthful and remarked how tasty it was. I took my second mouthful and bit down on something hard. It was a stone!! Not a bit of grit, a small pebble measuring at least 1cm+ by .5cm +!! My teeth still don’t feel right. I could have easily broken a tooth or choked on it! Called waiter 2 over again and asked what he thought it was. He apologised, took the food and asked if I would like something else. I said just a coffee as my friend was still eating. Did he make me a coffee? No. Then the lady who appeared to be in charge came over and apologised and asked if I would like anything else to eat free of charge. I said No, I would not trust anything coming out of that kitchen ( clearly given the delays and not spotting a stone that size, the chef was not focussed on the job) but that I had asked for a coffee 10 minutes ago. She finally made this. My poor friend was trying to eat her meal with all this going on although clearly not able to enjoy it. The owner then came out and apologised again and said that they thought it must have come out of a pre washed spinach packet. They were very apologetic and didn’t charge for my friends food or our drinks but seriously abysmal customer service skills, clearly whoever was in the kitchen did not have their mind on the job and it should not have happened in the first place - I don’t know how a cook could miss a stone that big when preparing food, So be warned. Proceed with caution this lot are clearly half asleep.

Went here on Sunday for brunch, got a table fairly quick and the coffee came within minutes of ordering , which was very nice. We then unfortunately waited an hour for the food. When the food arrived I could not believe how small the portion was for the price. Also no apology for such a long wait on the food.

Good place for a brunch, although you can't book, we have to wait a lot. Service is OK, some staff were so friendly, others all right

Had a really nice brunch here, good options like breakfast burritos and larger breakfasts, was a bit chilly outside Id recommend a pod for sure. Didn't have service that often but was good when it did happen.

Too pricey for what you get, we are not in the centre. You need to update your prices on the website as they don't match the till price.

It's not the first time that we have come here but today I was a bit surprised with the price, £11 for 2 normal hot chocolate. I think it's a bit too much!

Food took a bit long to arrive but worth the wait. Way too much cream cheese though. Nice staff. Will be returning.

This popular place was recommended to us. It’s dog friendly so there are dogs allowed inside and outside. We were very disappointed. We waited an hour or more for food to arrive and weren’t advised of delays or even offered a drink in that time. There was no explanation or apology given. Other customers complained and so by the time we left staff were advising new customers of a wait time. Nearly £40 for 2 breakfasts and hot drinks that was of an “ok” standard and took so long to arrive seems crazy when there are so many other places around the corner. I’d find it hard to recommend this place to anyone.

Food is so yummy, but because there is no bookings accepted you can end up queuing outside for a while, we waited about 25 minutes. I would really love if you could book because the food is really nice and unique :)

Sunday Brunch. Absolutely fantastic. Staff are so pleasant and friendly. Excellent coffee. Great menu - caters for everyone. Dog friendly. If we lived nearby this would be a regular haunt. Thank you for a real treat.

Nice place with nice service. The Full English breakfast was delicious. The waitress was very nice and smiling ;) The coffee could be better.
