Sandbar is always a favourite whenever we travel to Manchester. Amazing pizzas, great beer and spirit selection, and a jukebox full of great tunes

Quiet on a Thursday afternoon but good beer selection and maintained well. Average prices at around 5 for an ale.

Visited after a gig at the O2 Apollo, fantastic range of beers on offer and excellent pizzas

I love this place. Been going for years and it's retained it's charm and everything I love about it but simultaneously kept it up to date. Find myself back there whenever I'm that side of town.

One of the best places in Manchester, the food is Michelin star quality the chefs and there food are out of this world.

Just a great place to relax after a hard day's work. Great service and drinks. Over many years I have had pizza only once or twice, hence I cannot comment on it, but they look very appetising.

Staff always friendly, tunes are always good and vibe is chilled/busy but good layout. The food is amazing, some of the best pizza!

Loved it here so soo fantastic Bartender with dark hair absolutely served it up in a pint glass and was giving big pints of boots the house down craft beer. Slay 10/10

Great find - solid pizza at a pretty good price with a very solid beer selection. Couldn't really ask for much more. Clearly a popular place. Nice outdoor seating for the rare sunny Manchester day. Would certainly come again.

Value for money and great atmosphere

Nice IPA beer, trendy post hippie atmosphere. Worth a visit.

The manager disappointingly didn't welcome us in our natural attire after the World Naked Bike Ride finished in the park opposite. He said "someone might be offended"... The whole pub cheered when we walked in lol! I think he was the only one offended but didn't have the balls to say so. Hey ho, we were welcomed on canal street :D

The pizzas are fantastic with lots of vegeterian options and the beer choices are amazing. The lunch deal is so so worth it!

A classic and traditional cool pub. Great options of beers, nice atmosphere, retro vibe. The staff isn't the friendliest or proactive I've seen but at least they're not rude.

A student bar with old man pub vibes, the best of both worlds possibly. Always has a decent range of ales and I think still does pizza (not eaten there for a while though)

Always a friendly welcome here. A good choice of beer, wine, ciders and whiskey. The pizza menu has reverted to a couple of meat options alongside a selection of veggie/vegan options -- everything we tried tasted great.

Quirky bar with terrific pizza, but both of the two staff members I interacted with on a Friday lunchtime were astonishingly and needlessly rude, which puts me off wanting to come back.

I really like the place. The beers are very decent with varied choice from normal lagers to more niche ones like gose and IPA. The star of the show though is the pizza. It’s on par with Noi Quattro and Ruddys, but what makes it stand out is their deep fried calzone! What a treat! It’s absolutely delicious. The fries are great as well.

AMAZING pizzas with great choice of vegan variants. Crust is sooooooo good! If you think Rudy’s is good (which it is) this is next level.

Beer choice is very good. Pizzas have gone really bad and undercooked - the cheese hadn’t even melted.

Very busy upon our arrival on a Friday night but managed to order a beer at the bar. It was busy and people were coming and going but then the young bar person with black hair came and told us to move ! Not could you move because? but get out the way, move. Very disrespectful when he only said it to us and not local people stood next to us .Very poor customer service and won't be running back soon

We discovered this bar on the way to/from the Deaf Institute for a gig. It was quiet at the time but the bar staff were very friendly and the vibe there was good. There were 4/5 Real Ales on and the pints we had were really good, and well priced too. There were even games and cards behind the bar and a juke box in the other room. Great bar, I would definitely visit again if nearby

Love the Sanbar! I've been going here for over 20 years and its been a consistently fantastic experience. Very cozy, great beer and lots of seating.

Sitio muy grande y con un ambiente muy British. Buena variedad de cervezas y una pequeña terraza exterior. Recomendable para ir a tomar unas buenas pintas.

It is a good place for hangout after work but I probably would not choose to go there on a weekend. It can get pretty busy and it's a bit dark for my taste. BUT I hear very good things about their pizza so I will be trying that for sure.

Great bar. Pizza looked good, but i could not have any as i'm coeliac. They made up for that, though, by having 2 gluten-free real ales on tap. Card only!

We really love this pub and pizza place. The beers are expertly kept and the staff are very friendly. We had a couple of pizzas when we were there last and they were exactly what we wanted and needed. Good atmosphere, great bee, tasty food. What more do you need?

One of my favourite pubs in Manchester. Great range of beer and whisky (including whiskey), and the pizza is to die for. Good mixture of larger and smaller tables, too, to suit different-sized gatherings.

Really a great place I only had to wait 15 minutes for my food. I am in a wheelchair so I thought it would be difficult but they helped a lot.

Sandbar has been around for over 20 years and it's easy to see why. Great drinks selection, including craft beers and specialist whiskeys, excellent pizza, friendly, helpful baristas, interesting regular events and always a good atmoshere. Never change, Sandbar!
