Been a regular here for a while now. Artur and co are always welcoming,wonderful,well cooked food,lovely people.

Splendid place, friendly and do a cracking veggie breakfast with hallumi. I spend far too much time here, and regret none of it.

First time Trying food from this place and honestly It was beyond what I expected. This place is like a hidden gem. Friendly people ,food was very nice and clean 😁

The food was brilliant and really well priced, the decoration inside is so lovely AND the member of staff in today ( Arta, I hope I spelt that right! ) was the nicest guy we ever met!!! Really made our day! Thank you so much ♥️

Frozen Sausage quality zero. Frozen mushrooms and store bought back pudding. Laeft half. Cost 30%more than anywhere else. Disappointing all round

The decor, the ambience is top notch. Hands down the best English brekkie I’ve had in Manchester, food presentation is also top tier.

Had breakfast here on a Sunday morning and would absolutely recommend. Both the waitress and chef were really friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. I ordered the Omelette with chips which was ready within 10 minutes of ordering. The food was served hot and tasted great. Portion sizes were quite big and prices are reasonable. The atmosphere inside the place was really nice too. There's indoor and outdoor seating available plus a customer toilet. My only critique would be that the canned and bottled drinks are not refrigerated and I think they should change this. Would be nice if they made a kids menu too

Awesome find!! The BEST vege English breakfast I ever had, the mushrooms and vege sausages were exceptional!! It’s now called Levens, former Friends cafe. The owners Leila and Arthur were adorable, super friendly and generous! There was great chilled Latin music playing, and as a Brazilian person I felt at home! Definitely a new hang out in Levy!

A regular haunt of mine. Wonderful fresh food, reasonably priced and beautifully cooked. The staff are amazing too and nothing is too much trouble. What's not to love?!👍😊❤❤

First visit, nice welcome, great food and a great vibe.

It was my first visit there and for an unknown reason the owner/staff wasn't pleased with me there. I arrived and they didn't bother to say "hello". Two ladies were talking to each other, one of them were holding her phone and I was there as I wasn't. For seconds I thought I was invisible and they didn't see me. I bought a full English and a bottle of orange juice. No even a glass wasn't offered me. I had to ask for a glass otherwise I'd drink the juice from the bottle. When I was leaving, again I was the one to say "goodbye" and by lucky the lady replied me with a cold "thank you". I wasn't expecting she'd reply me, to be honest. The place is great, the food was very well presented and tasty, but there's no customer service standard, unfortunately. Sadly they are not friendly as the name of the cafe suggest it...

Wonderful friendly staff. Atar & Leyla are so welcoming and provide really lovely service. Food is great. They do an amazing BLT with really nice hearty bread. Lovely atmosphere, clean and nice layout. One of the best cafes Levenshulme if you want nice food at a really reasonable price.

Best breakfast in Levenshulme. Nice to be able to pay with CASH only ... The food is of a high quality in presentation and the ingredients are used well. Delicious and to the music of 'salsa'. Have a break away from the greyness and go and eat at the friends cafe for really personal and professional service and a little salsa sunshine!!!!

Until last year I always enjoyed coming here, however since the leaseholder has changed, every thing has changed. She is not as helpful as the previous holder, which I found unusual as she has been working there for years in the kitchen. There was an incident where I politely gave her some constructive criticism over finding a pool of butter underneath my jacket potato. I suggested that she could look at asking customers whether they want butter. The food was greasy, which I didn't appreciate, so after that, whenever I went in she kept coming over and talking about it. I thought it was rude, so I no longer go in.☹️

I came to the café and it is very nice the food is outstanding I ordered a cooked mega breakfast and it was gorgeous especially the mushrooms

This place has undergone a refurb and looks to be under new ownership since I last visited a few years ago and I can highly recommend it. Had a great full English this morning, lovely surroundings and friendly staff. Only minor criticism is quality of the sausage could be better but still 5/5 and will be visiting again. Be aware it’s cash only at the minute.

It was a brilliant braisen steak dinner and my wife had fish and chips absolutely gorges two hugh plates of good quality food, staff so friendly , we would highly recomend friends cafe

Visited twice in one week, that's how lovely this little cafe is. Super friendly staff, who couldn't do enough to make our breakfast experience enjoyable. First visit was a breakfast with coffee, second was just coffee but both times they went above and beyond.

I never usually leave reviews even if i dont enjoy my food but i just had to leave one this time... I decided to go here having read all the positive Google reviews. What a mistake. The food is literally slimey with grease. Poor quality bacon that is wafer thin, the cheapest frozen sausages I've ever seen, neon orange scrambled eggs (no exaggeration), even the fried eggs were bad!! How do you mess up eggs and bacon? Mushrooms were like rubber and just tasted of grease. I didn't enjoy one thing on my plate. I walked out after one bite of everything. I can still taste and smell the unpleasant grease. I feel sorry for the people who think this is a good place to get breakfast.....

Foods nice and fresh. Bit pricey at 7£ for average sized breakfast. Owners/Staff are lovely..

I love this place, it's a friendly old school greasy spoon type of gaff, probably at least half the price of some of the more middle class eateries that have opened up in the area recently. Different strokes for different folks....and all cafes have their differences. This one is great for milky coffee, burger and chips, breakfasts, long may it continue - it's a Leve institution.

Friends Cafe has been a hidden gem for years. Consistently faultless in food and service. One of a few to survive Covid. Hats off to Amir!

Food is great Staff are kind and easy to talk to Nice little cafe Family friendly Cheap food. Cheap drinks £1.25 for a can of pop Free tea and coffee with breakfast Ordered 2 burgers, 1 sausage and bacon sandwich and multiple cans of pop Salad is fresh and crispy inside the burgers Burgers tasted nice Chips were good

I love this cafe more and more each time I visit, the staff are really friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. The food is really tasty and absolutely brilliant value for what you get, the portions are generous too! Would definitely recommend this lovely little place to anyone in the area. Thank you! ☺️

Very unhappy with service , and quality of food , and staffs management skills Im infuriated to say half way through eating I discovered two very noticeable black hairs on my plate over my meal and on the plate which was revolting and immediately put me off continuing to eat such unhygienic food, i then confronted a staff member like any other member of the public would do to notify and show the hairs and they responded with something very indenial and childish & didnt take any form of ownership for there own mistake, the hairs on the plate were clearly black and i have fair hair(ginger) so the man was trying to say the hairs were ginger which was a major lie trying to cover up his bad hygiene and the fact he didnt even have a hair net over his head just increase the fact it came from his head and he is either colour deficient or stupid for the fact he was denying that his own hair had been caught in the food after cooking it. All i would of wanted was a bit of respect shown and decency by him taking ownership and holding his hands up about his maulting hair and apologising and maybe refunding or replacing my meal He did offer me a replacement meal but only after arguing for 10 mins with me trying to pin point his hair onto me which was just a load of rubbish and he was just very incompetent and was very disrespectful pulling dirty looks the whole time Thats the last time i will enter such a low quality cafe with bad mannered staff that cant do there job properly & dont even wear any hair nets when cooking the list of things i found disgusting goes on Gordon ramsey would have that shut down in 5 minutes! And if manchester trade and standard experienced it they would do the exact same!

Very friendly warm welcoming place. Its a lifeline for some locals. Especially elderly. People support your local business. Coffee and tuna sandwich always on form for me.

Out of the 3 of our group that had the veggie breakfast, we all got food poisoning! Was without doubt caused by this cafe, so please be careful.

Good breakfast for the price. Does what it says on the tin. Staff friendly. Always clean tables, etc. Is my go to place in the area for a Sat morning budget fry up. Job Done.

Below average food, very rude and uncooperative staff (think he was the owner). Insisted on arguing about how I asked for tea to be served. Did my best to avoid arguin but he would not let it go

Me and my girlfriend have been coming here for years now and it's by far the most consistent place I've ever been( in a good way) the staff are lovely and the food is amazing. I always recommend a friend or family member to come and eat here.
