Being after Christmas it was a little quiet but it still felt like there was a lot going on friendly staff loved the music gin served in a gin glass! Big screens to accommodate all sports that was available to watch. Enjoyed it wish I could have stayed longer

Didn't eat here, but if the staff and atmosphere are anything to go off, it would be a 5 star rating. Very handy for the Academy shows, being only 4 minutes walk away. Recommended.

Superb service, friendly and welcoming. Accommodating for our large group of friends post gig at the academy for 3 nights. Made us feel back at home - we'll be back as often as we can!

Visited in the 'Twixmas' period 2024 (27-30 December) whilst staying locally in Manchester for a series of gigs at The Academy (Lottery Winners, Burning House Parties) Needed somewhere to be able to meet with friends before and after going on to various events over the weekend. From the first trickle of people coming in, to when it was standing room only and 5 deep at the bar, the manager Shannon & her staff couldn't have been more friendly, welcoming & professional, perfect hosts in my opinion. Ensured everyone had somewhere to sit when it got really busy & even helped punters by carrying drinks upstairs when they'd ordered more than they could carry! This also goes for the regular punters who might not have taken to over 100 people turning up 'en masse' in high spirits after the gigs too. The first good experience kept us coming back for more, and so it was over the long weekend. Appropriate music played downstairs (Lottery Winners) and the chance for people to have a song-along upstairs when young musician Jonny Blade arrived with his guitar & entertained the 'troops'. Good drinks offers, & good prices. Great staff, understanding & accommodating. Thanks again, we shall return. Shannon, you were an absolute credit to the pub and the pub company. Lovely to meet & chat to you when the chance arose (it got VERY busy at times there! 😉) best wishes for the future.

Molto carino e grande questo locale da noi trovato per caso mentre eravamo dalle parti dell' Università a Oxford Road. Si articola su ben tre piani, è ben curato e pulito ed offre una vasta scelta di bevande alcooliche e non. Si può giocare a biliardo e, se amate lo sport in diretta TV , qui troverete tutto visto che ci saranno una ventina di maxi schermi.

Fantastic couple who run this amazing pub, great atmosphere, great bar prices, a must vist if your in Manchester 5☆ +, love it, for Guinness lover's, you won't find a nicer pint, also get a surprise touch to your pint of Guinness

Went on at lunch time on a Saturday and we were the only ones there. Possibly because it was out of term. The beer choice is somewhat limited too.

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the Turing Tap. Was easy to book online. I made an error of forgetting to state I wanted to watch the Formula 1 race, so we were originally sat away from that screen, but the bar staff worked some absolute magic and moved tables and bookings around to sit us right by the TV showing it. The staff are so kind and helpful, customer service is top tier. We had a great bottomless brunch which was brilliant value for money, £33 for 2 hours, all cocktails included with a bottle of Prosecco on the table. A KILO of cauliflower wings with the most delicious hot honey buffalo sauce, I couldn’t even finish it! Service was great, drinks were replenished with no waiting for the next ones. Cocktails were delicious! Special mention to Lucy who went over and above to make our experience really special. Thank you x

A student pub a stones throw from the university. They do cheap deals on certain listed beers. The pub itself is quite tidy with fairly nice decor and furniture. I enjoyed a quick pint. A nice up and down stairs sitting area. Not a bad place to drop in.

Surprisingly a really nice pub as assumed it would be bit dingey but was great. Food awesome and big selection of beers. Lots of specials on as well and screens to watch sport

The upstairs bar was closed so you have to go downstairs to buy your drink and walk up the stairs with. Not a problem but being drunk and carrying drink up stairs is no fun and not appropriate for health and safety reasons.

It's ok, 3 handpulled beers and 6 craft/keg beers. Food was ok, nothing outstanding.

I had pizza, it came as a whole pizza, so had to ask for a pizza cutter. The bottom of the base was burnt, and rock hard. The food wasn't good, and expensive for what it was. Atmosphere was OK

Came in last night before the Corey Taylor gig for food with my family for my sons birthday,I personally ordered the burrito bowl priced at £10.50 and added on chicken at £2.50 extra cost,I was presented basically a tortilla filled with slop,,3 of the ingredients stated were missing there was a teaspoon serving of rice then just sour cream guacamole cheese sauce about 4 jalapeños and the cheapest chicken which I can only presume had came in frozen and defrosted,,I literally felt someone was playing a practical joke when it was brought over to our table!,,other family members ordered burgers which were very poor and overpriced,service from a guy was pleasant but a girl bringing our drinks when I told her I ordered 2 for 1 cocktails had the biggest attitude and was rude,,safe to say we would never return to this establishment,,,but it didn't ruin our night we laughed so much about the garbage that was served to us.

Ate here pre-theatre before visiting Contact over the road. The pub might be fine for drinks (we were driving) but the food offering was lacking in lustre. Wouldn't return, unfortunately.

Super quick service and really good prices for some nice pub food. Good selection for vegetarians too which was nice! Quick visit before a concert, plenty of seating and served very quickly.

Food came 45 minutes late and both items were wrong. Barely even warm and were missing items. The service was slow but the staff were welcoming and friendly. Would come back for drinks but not for food.

Found this place on the off chance while looking for somewhere to eat before a show, on our secret wedding day. Didn't expect much ordered a sharing platter. The biggest disappointment was actually having to share. The nachos were delicious, halloumi fried to perfect and all topped off with great vibes and lovely service. Will be returning when back in Manchester

Terrible experience in this place.... - Visited on a Sunday morning (11am) for brunch and they were out of everything - no egg, no hash browns, nearly out of bread - Ordered a breakfast buttie for £6 and got the joke of a sandwich as below! Better to go to the Wetherspoons 2mins away than this.

This place should be way busier than it is! The food is fantastic, the cocktails, even better. The staff are wonderful as well. Had such a good time our first visit that we came back the next day for a repeat dinner and drinks before I leave Manchester tomorrow.

Lovely pub. Showing sports on numerous screens. Good service. We ordered pizza pretty expensive for what you got. (Stone Baked oblong pizza not your traditional pizza) we also ordered cauliflower wings but chicken wings were served - luckily one of us wasn't vegetarian!

One of the best pubs I’ve visited whilst visiting Manchester, the staff were really helpful and welcoming and the atmosphere here was really good! Enjoyed some drinks whilst watching the football Was very tempted by the food so will definitely be visiting again to try when I’m back!

Please do NOT advertise yourselves as a pub that shows the RWC and sells its official beer if you can't even be bothered to show matches on the big screen. It's one thing to favour football over rugby on a normal day but when you have people sat down having paid for drinks from your establishment waching a WORLD CUP game and then you change it to football in the middle of the rugby game. BURNLEY Vs Man U over a tournament that only happens every four years. People had called ahead to make sure you were showing it on the big screen, promised it would be and then get 10minutes was all they got. Absolutely disgraceful. If that were the football world cup you'd have turned it back on in a heartbeat. Staff could not give a toss. Do NOT come here if you're a rugby fan wanting to watch a match. Not the first time it's happened either. Foos is mediocre at best and seriously overpriced (I've tried several options from the menu).

A specific complaint: don't go for the rugby world cup! With all the bunting and merchandise proudly displayed as well as saying they would be playing big games in advance on the day, you would expect a them to play the match between the top 2 teams in the world on the big screen and audio; apparently Burnley Vs Man U is more important. Really disappointed with the service and organisation

Overall disappointing now. Nothing to shout about. Main disappointment is how they seem to change the channels partway through games after people have settled in and bought drinks. They've done that to me twice with other fans getting very frustrated as well.

I booked a table for the South v Ireland match. It was promised that the match would be played with commentary. I paid a £20 to reserve the table. 30 mins they switched the channel with no commentary. If you are a rugby lover. Don't come here.

What a lovely pub! Greeted by happy team at the bar & venture upstairs to the second floor which is my new favourite place! Food is top notch & they serve a good pint - Highly recommend!

Third time trying to get a meal and third time they failed. We wont be back. The pizzas are like cardboard…. And they brought completely the order wrong out and blamed me the customer for getting it wrong. Appalling, rude and clearly dont care about service.

Went in for drinks and food on a Saturday afternoon. The loaded fries I ordered were advertised as containing 'shredded chicken' which was pretty disingenuous considering they were clearly just frozen chicken pieces. For the price the quality just wasn't there. My girlfriend attempted to order two separate vegetarian meals (they didn't have the ingredients) - so ordered the pizza cone and reasonably asked for halloumi and mushrooms on it - considering we only ordered it as it was the only option on the menu... the pizza was dry and not good, and they didn't put mushrooms on as requested. Poor experience for the price... Menu sounds great but is very misleading

Wednesday night pint, a Neck oil and a pint of cask. Both good pints and had a few wings for 30p each (l think that's just Wednesday) they were really good too. Pretty quite and a good place for a quite pint with some friends. Probably much busier at weekend. Overall a solid pub that does good food. Well worth a visit and close to the Academy so we'll placed for post or pre gig pints.

I Don't like it as much now they changed the food menu. It's too much. You can't get simple stuff there anymore which you would expect from a pub. It's still good for drinks and the area is spacious

Good food, very reasonably priced. Friendly fast service. Rather lacking in atmosphere when we went - I gather it is a student pub, and we went in the vacation! Our experience therefore probably not representative!

Sick bottomless brunch, bartenders was very attentive, Liam was sure to make sure that we had enough drinks

Me and a friend booked the bottomless brunch to watch the Lionesses and the place was decorated in an England fan zone style! The staff were incredible, mimosas were on the table ready and the lovely lady couldn’t do enough for us! Food was delicious and drinks were constantly flowing:) Highly recommend! Thank you so much!

Not happy about the cheaper drinks for students only.

Bought 2 burgers @ £12.50 each. Tasted and looked like microwave burgers. Worst burger I've ever had in a restaurant, irrespective of the price. Barman was friendly and place was clean. I'd have a pint in here but not a meal.
