Oh dear! What a long wait for our lunch! Ordered our drinks and lunch at 12.25 on Thurs. 30th Jan. 2x coffees and a baked potato with prawns, coleslaw and a few lettuce leaves, partner really fancied the ham and eggs with chips. Then the long wait started……. 35 mins later, no meals yet and coffees drunk, so I went to the till assistant, Rowan, who initially served us. She apologised for the long delay and went to enquire in the kitchen what had happened to our order. The cafe was not too busy, however, I noticed that the people after us in the queue had received their sandwiches and chips already! Over 35 mins we waited for the food! Very disappointed when the 2 plates arrived! As you can see from the photos enclosed. One baked potato with a spoon of prawns, a few side salad leaves and toms and a spoon of coleslaw, Hubby got one slice of cold ham, a few chips, a small tub of peas and 2 poorly fried eggs!! Not rocket science to produce! Anyway, as Id complained about the 35 min wait, we got a complementary drink, which again was luke warm by the time our meal arrived. We have eaten here previously a few weeks ago, and again wasn't too happy with the service. However, I would like to praise Rowan for enquiring about our lunch and her good customer service at the till, a very pleasant attitude.

Saturday 18th December 2021 I visited this propper old-fashioned real ale public house There were ample real ales on, and the beers were locally brewed, and the atmosphere was excellent. The staff are helpful and all in all a must to visit for real ale when in Carlisle Satur This great real ale pub has many smashing great hand pumped real ale pub is a must to visit when here The landlord is a proper dry, humoured top banana This landlord is my cup of tea I give this pub 6 out of 5👍😁😁😁 Saturday 18th January 2025 Yet again, we came into this fantastic real ale pub This through roomed wooden floored pub was a fantastic inner drinking place to drink the lovely lakeside ales on offer today in this great pub The landlord has been here for a humongous amount of years, and he is a legend with his dry, diverse sense of good humour🤣 Whe come to Carlisle drinking real ales this pub is an essential visit to drink in

Called into Cafe Nero around 12.30 for a drink and a sit down after walking round town in the cold. I’ve never been in before. The service was very slow at the counter despite being no queue. There were no free tables to sit downstairs apart from 1. The room was busy with young men coming and going without buying drinks or food. They appeared to be sitting indoors out of the cold in between doing food deliveries on their bikes. The coffee was nice but think for a relaxing non working type of environment we will go somewhere else for a drink in future.

Can confidently say that the bad reviews are nothing but sad Karens looking for anything to complain about - I come to this Starbucks frequently and of the hundreds of times I’ve been there staff have been nothing but polite, (especially the Welsh guy!), attentive and your drink is always made super quickly. These are baristas more than likely on a minimum wage, and they don’t have to do a song a dance for you in order to provide good customer service. My advice to everybody is stop moaning, and do something else is with your life. These guys are ace.

Tired, needs a refresh. Paint peeling in the rooms, bulbs blown that haven’t been changed. Smell of cannabis in corridors. Had been cleaned to the best of its potential, but tired and a fair walk from anywhere worth going. Not even a bargain price. Won’t be staying again.

Fantastic night out at Gilmore girls quiz. What a great format for a quiz! Felt like halfway between quiz and club night! Lots of young people there but I’m in my 50s (with my 25 year old daughter) and still had an excellent night. Such good music I loved every single track s mix of old classics and new stuff. Dj/compare was brilliant and funny. Very professional set up with lots of door staff and staff so felt very safe and everyone really friendly. Food looked gorgeous and really good prizes too. Brilliantly organised and professional events company

Everything was perfect. The only problem was when a customer came.in with a disability dog, they were stopped and and frisked. It was disgusting. If the manager thought that was OK, she needs to resign. She was discriminating the person, she was very rude. As far as I'm concerned the elk has gone downhill because the manager discriminated. A perfetic woman

New to the area so decided to check out a few pubs with my mate. Both of us went in during the Leeds v Sheff Wednesday game and were completely blanked by the guy behind the bar who walked straight past us a few times in a 5 minute period and its far to say he was much more focused on chatting up two women on the other end of the bar. Left and went somewhere else instead Edit, I didn't say the Leeds v Sheff Wednesday game was played on a Wednesday. Sheffield Wednesday is the name of the team. It was a Friday night game on the 23rd August

It's a nice local pub, it's a shame they don't do food any more. Very quiet, definitely only really a regulars pub now. It's such a shame to see a pub on such a main route so quiet now. The woman that works behind the bar is lovely and chatty and smiley. We only live down the road, and have recently started coming here, mainly on a Sunday afternoon, itsbquiet enough that our little one can have a wander around without getting in people's way. It would be nice to see it have a new lease of life, serving food again, new lick of paint. Would still recommend though if you want somewhere quiet to have a little drink and chat. Only problem we have ran into is they don't have gin glasses 😂 but I'm not picky and will have my gin in a normal glass.

Don't know about the food as I didn't eat, but popped in for a drink, it was a locals pub, a nice atmosphere and friendly.
