Everything was perfect. The only problem was when a customer came.in with a disability dog, they were stopped and and frisked. It was disgusting. If the manager thought that was OK, she needs to resign. She was discriminating the person, she was very rude. As far as I'm concerned the elk has gone downhill because the manager discriminated. Great pub, foods always nice. Love the table app where you can order your drinks online and get presto they are at the table.

It’s never going to win awards for exceptional food but maintains a certain standard and is a good Wetherspoons . Pleasant interior, friendly, helpful staff and good value for money

As always the food was lovely. We were 15 mins early to have the main menu so we had to order from the breakfast menu. Yummy all the same We don't think the staff were impressed in having not one but two stag parties in, waiting to go to the train station. They weren't rowdy, in fact quite the opposite but one particular staff member was walking round with a face like thunder. She was the duty manager as well I believe.

First time in this pub and it was a great experience,very clean pub and nice atmosphere,great service by a young man who was very friendly and chatty which is surprising for a city fan. Would definitely come again

Wonder when the Poulton Elk are going to realise , that during the winter, it might be a good idea to turn the heating on. Light the fire and . Here is the bizarre thing. Dont have the air conditioning going full tilt blowing cold air out. It's 1 to 2 degrees outside and it feels warmer than The Elk. Only happens when certain managers are on.

We come here every Christmas Eve as a family of 10 so our order at the bar is always immensely complicated! However, everything went to plan. Ale and food alike were excellent and Rebecca's patience and friendliness at the till as well as the rest of the staff's service was impeccable. Made our day :)

Has anyone else noticed that suddenly the chicken in the chicken tikka Marsala is now sinewy ,hard and cardboard like .. has there been a change of supplier. Or what? Please change it back. Used to be so good

Got asked by a cheeky guy called Charles who thought it ok to have booze sent to his table non gratis and that gullible people would happily get him pissed for nowt.

This is a common place for us to visit, it is always extremely busy- so expect a loud area while eating- but understandable so as the service is quick, staff are very friendly, and the food is good too! The only problem we have had is on one occasion where I ordered the burger and chips and the burger had a weird taste to it, my boyfriend managed to call over a waiter and the lady was very kind about the situation and went to the chefs to get me a fresh burger. Service: 5/5 Food: 4/5

Have eaten here on many occasions and always found the food excellent, hot and plentiful. However today I went for my usual fish & chips the battered fish was saturated in rank oil the chips burnt again tasting of used stale oil virtually inedible. So disappointed in the whole meal.

A lovely lad on the 19/4 just finished his shift at 10 as he was clearing up tables around us and he had gone to help another staff member who needed help even though he wasn’t on his shift. He was very kind and welcoming whilst i was here. You’re so lucky to have such a nice team member.

A early afternoon sat lunch, couldn't believe how busy it was when we went through door, still a few tables available, the problem was they were all stacked up with plates etc, folk were clearing their onto unused ones. Could see there was a constant stream of food and drink coming out but they weren't taking anything back, looked like well understaffed. The few that were there were just rushing bringing food out. The carpet was awash with old food an napkins etc where families had been sat. If it hadn't been cold out I would have sat outside. We'd paid for parking so determined to get something to eat. Ordered off the app and didn't wait long. Food was ok and typical spoons scran.

Friendly and helpful floor staff, man who took the food order messed up, but the kitchen staff rectified this, free of charge....free coffee, tea, hot chocolate on offer....child friendly....£1 parking for 3hrs, can be used in other carparks, but read the board next to the machine carefully...Take a photo... our food was great, plenty of seats, quite a big place...outside dining available ....definitely go back...all day breakfast served until 12noon

Place is fine, no complaints about it at all.. Just watch out though if you leave your car in the adjacent council car park because you don't want to drive home. The council traffic warden is there before 9am every sunday morning ticketing cars that have been left overnight, they know no-one expects it and there are rich pickings to be had. I'm in a scooter club and we meet for breakfast every sunday, every sunday it's the same old same old. You have been warned!

Visited tonight and ordered drinks to the table. Order arrived, very quickly and efficiently. However my drink was wrong. I ordered absolut vodka.. and received vanilla vodka. I wwnt back to the bar to challenge it, a very rude member of staff argued I'd ordered vanilla vodka. I said .. I don't think so? He checked with the manager who said they wouldn't change my drink as id 'tasted it'. So.. I checked the app at what I'd ordered. It clearly said absolut not vanilla..just absolut. I challenged again to the same bar staff who argued 'his system said vanilla' well.my app did not so i insisted on talking to a manager. Another member of staff pointed out that I was right. !!! Oh'yes sorry about that I'm dyslexic' . Rubbish excuse. A dyslexic would not confuse vanilla vodka with vodka. If you want to discuss disability, I have high blood pressure and anxiety. So thanks for dragging me through that humiliation because the arrogant bar staff GOT IT WRONG. Poulton elk... sort out your bar staff. They are awful, and need to go on customer training. What happened to 'the customer is always right '? Even the guy who rectified my order rolled his eyes about the arrogant bar member. Yes I got the right drink eventually, with a 'sorry bout that' but I had to bloody work for it! The guy with the glasses... you need to go on a customer relations course or find another vocation as you're clearly in the wrong job

Brilliant pub, food was excellent. The value is astonishing. Great place to meet up in Poulton. I would 100% recommend this spoons.

Visited as a family just after Xmas, after a few days of hard cooking it's nice to just head out and order instead. Nobody was really impressed, personally I have had better at a tesco cafe. The food on everyone's plate was just about warm, the toast well, it wasn't toast at all. It just seems that for the kitchen to be able to produce the food, which I must say, is rapidly delivered, they must just bulk cook and plate when the order comes through. I'd rather wait a little and get a decent warm breakfast. We ordered through the app, this is a brilliant system I must stress, and the servers who delivered the food were great. The unlimited tea and coffee is good however, one machine was not delivering milk so a cafe mocha and hot chocolate was a watery mess, I understand things break but then put a notice up, save another complaint. I would say for breakfast items a better warm holding is required but as for something as simple as an egg, surely anyone can fry one of these to order? Also ordered one vodka and coke as its Xmas, this came drowned in flat coke, couldn't taste any vodka.

Each visit has proved consistent with the service speedy the food piping hot and freshly cooked. Attentive staff and the tables are cleared and disinfected rapidly. Probably the best Wetherspoon the Lancashire just a shame local council charge to park

I come here all the time and have a couple of drinks around 4pm whilst doing a bit of work on my laptop. As our area has now gone into tier 3 the rules state that you can only drink if you are having a "substantial meal". This is a form of words used in the 2003 Licensing Act primarily for restaurants that allows them to serve drinks if people are eating. This means that all pubs that serve food are now effectively restaurants. Now, if I go to a restaurant I dont expect the proprietor to restrict me to THREE drinks with my meal.Don't get me wrong, I only have a couple of pints but it's the principle. There are perfectly respectable people having a meal but are being told when they sit down " you are restricted to 3 drinks". This isn't a legal requirement but a policy decision by Wetherspoons. I would say to Tim Martin, if you aren't prepared to operate as a restaurant then close but make your mind up how you are operating. You are putting the staff in an invideous position whereby they are saying a three drinks policy isnt the law it has just been imposed on us. And ironically you can buy three bottles of wine if you want !!!!.

You can’t really fault this place. It’s really well kept (a lot of spoons can become quite tatty). The food is cheap and cheerful and so are the drinks. There’s never any bother in there and even when it’s packed you only have to wait a few minutes to get served.

Great prices as you would expect from a Wetherspoons but cleaner than most that I’ve visited. Great atmosphere for drinks or food with some outdoor space (although not terribly picturesque as it’s in the car park!) lots of tables inside so even when busy you are likely to get a seat.

Went for breakfast with my family on New Years Day; was told when ordering that there were no poached or fried eggs as the cooking machine had been broken for over two weeks. There was no signage advising customers of this so that they could make a different choice while still at their table. Opted for scrambled eggs for two of our group but when they arrived they were stone cold and inedible. No member of staff came round after we had been served to check if our food was ok- my only recourse to complain would have been to leave my group and go and wait in the queue at the bar to tell a member of staff and in the time that would have taken the rest of my food would have also gone cold and my family would have finished their breakfasts when I returned to the table! Very unsatisfactory

I have to say as a chef this is the worst place I’ve been to in a very long time, staff were amazing very helpful and courteous but the food was absolutely appalling. It was a family get together so I thought it would be ok. But it was not . Ithink outof our party 1 person enjoyed

I had the fish n chips special for £4.99---fantastic---white haddock that just flaked on your fork----golden crispy batter--perfect and for a fiver---normally about 8 or 9 quid with a drink---my wife had the all day brunch which was also very good and to top it off an extremely well kept pint of ruddles for £1.69----CRACKING

Great range of breakfast served promptly. Restaurant well maintained and clean, only slight improvement: coffee machine keeps breaking leading to extensive queues for a drink. Other than that fab!

Food is always what you expect, good value. Staff attentive and pleasant. If there was a niggle some of the upholstery could do with a clean.

Poulton is a nice town, just a short train ride from Blackpool. A very good bar, the staff were friendly, polite and efficient. The food we had was well cooked and served promptly. Everywhere was clean and comfortable. All in all a good visit, recommended

Been a while since we've been, but wasn't disappointed. As usual the food was excellent VFM and the pizzas, I must say are some if the best around.......really scrummy!! However, only one slight down-side, the bar staff could do with a little more customer service training and learn how to smile when serving customers......... On a more positive side, the younger staff who waited-on were very attentive and friendly. All round a good night and defo worth a visit.

Go there every time we visit Poulton on a Saturday night Always busy with food and drinks .Good value for money and a good atmosphere.

I come in here probably around 3/4 times a week and have never had an issue with the food or staff. However today I arrived at the bar after two other customers and pointed the staff in both of their directions. During this time around 6 other people came to the bar and the 3 staff on the bar served everybody else who had arrived after I had and I ended up being the last person stood at the bar. I understand that when it is busy it is difficult to know who is next in line as I work behind a bar myself. However, not once did the staff ask who was next or realise that I had been stood waiting at the bar for the longest which is really poor when it was literally me and two others waiting at first. I am always hesitant to write a bad review because of working in the hospitality industry myself however was really let down on this occasion.

I visited the elk on Monday and I’ve got to say what a great visit staff were friendly and the manager on duty Katie was pleasant we had fish and chips at it was well cooked and delicious speed of service was quick overall nice clean pub will be back

We went out for a family breakfast and would of preferred to all eat at the same time! The first breakfast came 10 mins after ordering and then over the next hour the food came in dribs and drabs, the last breakfast came over an hour after the first. Staff have a cant be arsed attitude and are rude . Food was actually ok but the rubbish service was a big put off ! Sort it out spoons

First the positive point, the only positive point is the heap booze, the food is frozen and more often than not served cold, the customer service is the worst you can experience

Usually rate this as one of the better Wetherspoons, unfortunately today was awful.

Dave popped in for a breakfast whilst I picked up a few items in Poulton. He was tucking in when I got there and thoroughly enjoying it. He refilled his coffee a couple of times so left feeling ready for the journey home.

What a lovely place with pleasant staff The food maybe the same as any other weatherspoons but you must have a good chef who looks after the food and oil properly Would recommend

AVOID this place at all costs. If I could give this place zero ratings I would've done so. Ordered two pizzas and an 8oz sirloin steak. Firstly 2 orders came out, 1 pizza being the wrong order. Then when the other pizza came out it was stone cold and inedible and tasted rank! The steak was still MOOING on my plate. Raw wasn't the word!! I asked for medium rare. Jacket potato was stone cold also. Sent the steak back to the kitchen and told them to employ a chef who knew how to cook steak properly. I was sent £13 back as a gesture as such, and a rose wine on the house. Absolutely appauled at the shocking customer services. Staff need to be re trained. Will not be returning to this disgusting place in a rush anytime soon.

Called for breakfast this morning at about 11.30 prior to shopping. I had a large breakfast and the wife a gluten free one with avocado as extra. The fried eggs appeared to have been kept under heater lamps as they were all solid yet the rest of the food was warm but not hot. We ate part and left quite a bit. Judging by the amount of food left on the plates on empty tables not cleared our substandard servings were not an isolated offering.

I’ve visited this pub on numerous occasions and complained a few times about the under cooked breakfast. Nothing changed so I tend to go elsewhere. In summer tho the beer garden is best in poulton

A very nice Wetherspoons with a large plush interior and large beer garden. Good choice of cask ales at £2.29. The usual food menu is pricier than other Wetherspoons. The service was friendly and swift.

Was really bust not surprising , waitress brought the wrong number of cups , checked brought the right number threw them n the table no apology . Hubby fried eggs burnt on breakfast waitress seemed surprised we wanted to change them. Breakfast taken away 5 min wait brought the breakfast back new eggs but rest of breakfast cold. Rest of food for everyone else wasn't warm to begin with . Worst spoons I have been in wont be going again. Cold food rude staff and you have to pay for parking !

as a disabled visitor i made my way to a table and ordered drinks on the app. as i am unable to stand or walk far. i waited over 15 mins for drinks to arrive and didnt get them my daughter was busy parking the car in a blue badge parking are (i have a blue badge) after drop me off at the door otherwise she would have ordered them at the bar. when she arrived after about 10mins longer she ended up going to the bar to collect the drinks. if you are disabled avoid this place as the table service is terrible

Sat in the sunshine in the garden, eating pizza which is really nice. I love this place it allows us to have a treat at a reasonable price. Highly recommend for a relaxed drink and food

If you really want to know the quality of the food look no further than the floor and mind you don't step in it. Tables are left uncleaned, greasy and wet. Menus not wiped and dirty. Suffice to say we did not stay and went else where locally.

This was only my second visit here, but I have to say that on this visit both the food and service were excellent. There was no queuing or delays at the bar and our food was served promptly. We all had something different - mixed grill; gammon steak and beef steak and they we all delicious. Will definitely be visiting again - especially of steak night!

8 ladies went to celebrate a friends birthday and if we go into Poulton this is usually our ‘meet and eat’ venue. Although it was very busy most of the staff was friendly and efficient and as usual the meals we had was lovely.

As far as Weatherspoons go the interior of this one is quite nice. Everything else about it, the food and drinks its just like any other Weatherpoons

Use the elk regular really nice spoons but oh what a let down when busy our family of 6 went 4 breakfast used the app to order very good and efficient however the food and service were very poor on my breakfast alone (large one)things missing and cold the only thing that was hot was my tomato see picture had to ask for missing things i.e. no mushroom no butter no proper knives given steak knives as all others were dirty changed the tomato and it came with missing mushroom when i had finished my breakfast, staff didn't seem that bothered not asked if everything ok I think waiting staff avoided that scenario. It won't stop us using wethies but will be more selective with the time we choose to eat bcos we love the 3 for £10 and most things are very good just need a bit of quality control in the kitchen

Often call here for lunch on the way to our caravan or when we are shopping in Poulton. I ordered a chicken breast with chips and veg. The chicken was way overcooked and I only managed to eat a bit from the edge, in the meantime my wife finished hers and the waiter came by and took her plate and I said you might as well take mine this chicken is inedible and he apologised and said he would mention it to someone but we never saw him again again and after 20 mins we left. Poor service and makes me wary about going back.

Very poular...large and great outside area...a vast range of beers and other drinks...food excellent and all well priced. Just what you expect from a better end Wetherspoons.

Always busy, always a good pint at sensible prices. Typical pub food agaon always good. They have the right combination that makes it a busy friendly place to spend some time. Plenty of parking space (have to pay) beer garden big area inside plenty of table space . Gents toilet upstairs although disabled one down stairs.

Although this place is always busy you don’t have to wait too long at the bar Prices are reasonable too

We went in to meet friends on a Saturday at 6.00pm. Clearly it was busy but 25 minutes to get served was ridiculous. The matter was not made any better when people were being served before me....which I complained about only to be told that they were busy and I was being immature! I had not even had a drink to show my true feelings of the service I had received!! The reason they were busy is that they were understaffed and completely disorganised. I put it down to a training issue in customer service and lack of management, Never again will I go there. Guy with beard....you were rude and so were your team who were refused service to other customers just for challenging incompetence.

Went on my wife's birthday for a quiet meal. As with the Wetherspoons brand there was plenty to choose from. My wife and her sister ordered a pizza, a small garlic bread and chips. I ordered steak chips and egg with black pudding. At the bar I was told they had no black pudding so I asked if they had the bread and butter but brown instead of white bread. Sorry we don't do brown was the reply. Both meals came with a free drink so I chose a red wine and a coffee which I drink with soya milk, I didn't see any so asked if they had any. They didn't. This is the third Wetherspoons in a month that despite saying it's available on the menu hasn't had any.
