Such a shame to find this iconic traditional hostelry is still closed. Fantastic interior, great beer and great food. Sam Smiths pubs are always very well kept and this was always a destination pub whenever we visited the Fylde. We've now moved into the area so we're really hoping it will reopen soon.

The previous Reviewer Antony N is quite insulting of the local people that drink in the Vic I moved up here 18 months ago and met a lot of good Friends in there. The comment about ages of people is wrong there is a broad spectrum of ages especially on a Friday night he states about the Mobile Phones made me laugh if you get a call in the Jolly Tars(Wetherspoons) you would not be able to hear anyone as the pub is Loud and always busy. You need to step outside to make a call. As for the Tramway it chucks you out at 10pm when they stop serving food its not a proper pub. The biggest problem with the Vic is the Interference from Humphry and not being open they have had people apply and turned down for stupid reasons as for smiths prices I was in Bispham hotel yesterday and got 4 pints for under £16 that's not bad. Closing comment Humphry get your finger out find a manager maybe offer higher wages.

Last time l went it was nearly empty, No wonder! , Sam Smith's put their beer prices up, by 50 %, And let's be honest, it's only mediocre at the best of times, And you have to go outside to use your phone! , All devices are banned from all Sam Smith venues, Phones, tablets etc, & When you consider the Tramway next door, always busy, Wetherspoons just down the road, will the Morgue ever reopen? With an client average age of nearly dead, and the atmosphere of The Moon, Ain't looking good, Be honest,it makes Blackpool's Devonshire Arms, look like Partying Club Ibiza. I cannot see it reopening, Unless it changes hands, Serves decent beer, and remembers that customers are crucial, Not moneybags to be ordered to go outside if they want to take a phone call from their grandchildren, Seemed a good idea to ban mobile devices at first, but the phone ban, & 50% hike on beer,it ain't working, It's enough to drive you to drink John Smith's,now that is an insult! .

We called for Sunday roast and was pleasantly well fed! We have lived near by for 12 months and don't eat out often, but last Sunday we decided that we would try the Victoria pub as it's such a grand beautiful building it looks very inviting. The pub is exactly what pub's used to be like warm friendly no TV or music just people chatting. We ordered roast beef dinner and when it came the plate full! Beef, mashed potatoes roast potatoes, carrots, cabbage all fresh with a huge Yorkshire pudding! With a gravy boat each. It was delicious excellent value for money. The bar is well stocked up and the girls are lovely and polite. Well done to all the team. See you again soon

Owner of the Sam Smiths chain seems to be determined to scare off every last punter. If he had banned phone calls and playing youtube vids on full volume, that would be great, but he's banned even texting and using headphones - totally harmless to everyone else. This was tolerable when prices were low but he used covid as an excuse to raise prices 50% so now you may as well drink elsewhere. There's hardly anyone in on an evening for the size of the place, so he must be running it at a loss.

A wierd pub. It is very large but always almost empty. Sam Smith's Tady ales are good & cheap enough. But you are forbidden from using any technology in there - mobile phones, games consoles, Kindles, etc. We go in about twice a week because it's local. That's the only reason. Once again the owner Humphrey has disappointed his customers by banning dogs from the premises. One of life’s simple pleasures taken away yet again and for what reason? Sam smiths pubs down south are still allowed dogs in. Why only ban dogs in the north? The pub is Managed by a great couple and they try really hard to make it as welcoming as possible. Food is good, beer is good. The loyal regulars (that haven’t already gone elsewhere) are fast losing patience. The only thing letting this place down is Humphrey the owner. Sell up, shut down or live and let live Humphrey.

The Sunday Roast dinner was excellent. The turkey and veg were done to perfection, with lovely moist stuffing and a huge Yorkshire pudding. Given the “traditional” values of this place - no mobiles etc - we thought the food, only served on weekends, may be good quality traditional fayre. How wrong we were! All credit card facilities have been withdrawn so I paid cash for two Sunday roasts, one beef and one gammon, and a scampi and chips. Firstly, two beef roasts arrived. One was immediately removed, then around five minutes later so was the second one - and was promptly served to another table. Then a single beef roast arrived - the beef looking dry and barely edible. The other two meals hadn’t appeared after another ten minutes, so we asked for our money back and left. It’s a shame that a good looking building is being held hostage to what appears to be an ambition to be the most joyless, desperate place possible. The decor is really old and the place is grubby and the staff have a vaguely apologetic tone to everything they say and do, they almost feel like hostages too.

I recenly visited this bar with some friends. It is a very large room with wooden divides set around the area, which enables groups some privacy. However it is almost devoid of atmosphere with what amount to threatening notices that customers who use their mobile phones will not be served and asked to leave. Whilst I am very happy not to use my mobile in public places the tone of their notices is not good. I suggest that they inform guests who decide to sit outside with their dogs sitting on the tables is more important than using mobile phones. Fortunately there are many other places to enjoy a drink in the Cleveleys area so I do not have to visit the place again.

It was a tad overcrowded, the layout doesn't work, as tables block walkways that cause issues with disability access. The staff are generally friendly with the exception of one young lass that looks at customers like they are dirt, so she needs teaching about customer service.
