Booths in Trafford

Served breakfast which was beautiful. Staff were very nice and the restaurant area was spotless. Reasonable prices. Tea and coffee nice and hot. We then did shopping. Fab cheese counter. Spoke to Carol who recommended some fab cheeses.

Ah, Booths. For 9 years it's given us great quality products and great quality service. Overall, it's provided something for all who visit. At the end of its era, I'd like to say thank you and will be sad to see it go.

Hi a great place for quality food and everyday shopping. Its a shame it will be closing its doors and becoming an Asda store.

Five star shop, always has been. Not just a general supermarket. Shame on Trafford & Hale to lose this.

A reasonable small shopping area along with Booths in center. Good for local needs of Hale Barns.

Quality supermarket and cafe in an upmarket area where the residents are too frugal when it comes to supporting their local shops. I'll miss Booths greatly.

Mortgage was declined at check out,so was unable to buy anything, currently collecting trollies to pay off my bill. Apart from that decent food.

Very sad that Booths will soon be leaving Hale Barns a huge loss for the area😥 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another great trip to Booths yesterday made ever better by the excellent tasty Cheese & Wine stall run by George & Julie. So helpful loved it. We see produce in the store that no one else stocks. The staff in this store are absolutely Brilliant they are so helpful. We love the Cafe the Food is so tasty & well presented and the Staff are excellent. Our go to store with lovely walks down to the River Bollin. Love the place. Highly Recommended 💖

Brand new store. Cafe. Easy parking and lots of choice.

Ben the guy serving is completely ignorant!! Shouting responses and questions at customer in a very abrupt aggressive manner. A good deal of customer service training required.

Nearest Booths to Oldham. Went to get some nice local produce for a Christmas hamper. We got everything we needed. Nice store with enough parking. No cafe.

Medium sized supermarket a little more expensive than the bigger stores. Delicatessen looks good. I shopped very early but car park looks like it may get full at peak times.

My wife loves this supermarket chain. Staff are awesome.

This place is the marks and spencers of waitrose it's brilliant. The gin selection is brilliant. There's all sorts of cheeses and it's full of snobs. The best bit is the cafe where Ben runs the show. I hope you enjoy your visit as much as I enjoyed mine 😊

well set out although I feel some items could be displayed better . Perhaps they could store a higer percentage of healthier items particularly fresh salads ect ,handy car park . Friendly staff. Good choices.

Best quality of food and amazing cafe

Always a great experience. I was looking to put up a poster for my local U3A & Booths were very helpful. Bought a few treats whilst there too.

Not sure why the self service tills were removed. Had to queue behind shoppers with full trolleys to buy 1 item.

Love the cafe at Booths, Hale Barns. Stays open until 7pm with a good range of tasty, hot food at reasonable prices. Staff are very friendly too. Nice to go with a friend, sit in a window seat and watch the world go by. I had lamb Koftas with couscous, salad, pitta bread and a cucumber and yoghurt dip. Delicious and £6.50

I was completely humiliated when I presented a “voucher “ in the cafe. Apparently, even though it is clearly a tear off slip, and it says on the face of it that I can get a coffee and a cake for £5 , it is not a voucher. It is merely an “advertisement “.

Is it possible that Booths can both increase staff numbers in the cafe and that they are well trained! One poor person trying to take orders and serve drinks whilst another looked on! Also hardly any sandwiches on display Surely at lunchtime the cafe should be well stocked with sandwiches and oh by the way we couldn't buy any that were outside the cafe and pay for them in the cafe when none in the latter It's a joke ! Further more only about five knives out in the cutlery section, some spoons and no forks!! Who is checking this??A big queue too.Very poor.Has Booths given up?!

We had looked at a few other places for a late lunch, as an alternative to Booths, but after lack of success. we realised we might as well as come to here first! For our late lunch we wanted a Big Breakfast and we weren't disappointed. We had dietary needs that were met perfectly and the food was cooked to a perfectly too. The tea to drink with it was spot on as well, so that can't be bad. The café environment was nice, staff friendly and patient and the food came in good time. No problem!!!

Nice friendly shop with produce not quite as expensive as one would think

I took my wife here for breakfast. I have to say that as a local, it was the worst breakfast I think I have ever had! The eggs were hard on the bottom, the toast was from the end of a loaf (2mm think and only half the size of the piece that my wife had. The tomato was all soft and clearly over cooked. The black pudding was quite frankly disgusting. Hard and cold! The bacon was no better than a piece of cold leather. The only nice part of the £8.50 breakfast was the sausage. Not value for money in the slightest! When I mentioned the toast, the guy just picked it up off my plate and walked off with it! Shocking experience

Ordered a veggie breakfast as previously done in the past. Same excellent standards of food, tasty vegetarian sausage, beautifully cooked fried egg (no sign of oil), toast with plenty of butter to use. Tasty mushrooms too. Friendly, helpful and polite staff. Plenty of napkins available with clean cutlery. Restaurant was clean and tidy, no clutter or uncleared food. Regularly bring my family and my daughter, as a chef we both love the fact the food tastes delicious especially the veggie sausages, bread used for toast and meaty mushrooms. The drinks are served in clean white crockery and always filled to the top. Their service is always above and beyond, especially when providing sundries such as sweeteners. Lovely calm atmosphere and never “hurried” out.

Very good range of products, especially free range and locally grown. A bit more costly than your standard supermarket but well worth the better quality. If you visit after 7pm there are many bargains to be had as, with most farm fresh produce, the sell-by-dates aren't usually that good for keeping fresh so are there are normally 70-80% reductions. There are lots of good restaurants such as Balchau there too!! Still good bargains there now, even after 6pm!

I love to come here for the cafe which serve a reliably good vegetarian breakfast! 🌱 I also like to shop in the main supermarket too albeit the stock can sometimes be unreliable, it’s a really good shop, and one of my favourites for more obscure items, and none-alcoholic drinks

Really enjoyed our visit,this wasn't a planned trip and on arrival the staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. The shop was clean, spacious and well stocked. The whole shopping experience was delightful. I would highly recommend to all.

Best supermarket in the country by a long chalk.

Over priced and poorly stocked with a very limited range of products. The place to go if you've more money than sense. The only saving grace is that some (though not much) of the produce was locally sourced.

I called in the cafe with my brother for a bite to eat on Thursday 11th May. I was served by Vicky at the counter. She was a super friendly young lady, very efficient checking all we had ordered. We entered into a short fun conversation which I thoroughly enjoyed. Whilst collecting the plates and cups later we asked if she did a jug of tap water. She promptly went to the kitchen area to get us two cups which was so sweet of her. She is such a helpful courteous member of the team Thanks Vicky’ Kind regards Jean Burns

Good quality in fresh products as meats and fish. Although, there’s a lack of variety in other kind of products, which compared to other brands selling the exact same products they come quite pricey in comparison.

Usually look forward to a trip to Booths for pre shopping breakfast but this time the trip was overshadowed by a bad experience in the cafe. There were no other customers there when we arrived but still had to wait at the counter whilst the staff were chatting. Had to listen to a whole conversation about the waitress FaceTiming her friends the night before and then her mum not letting her bake a cake but that she would make one next week and bring it in. Eventually another member of staff told her to make the coffees. She made my one shot latte by putting 2 shots in the cup and then pouring some of it down the sink. An unconventional method which left me with about a quarter of a shot, basically hot milk. After waiting about 15 minutes I went to chase up our breakfasts and was told they were on the way. I already knew this as I had seen them on the pass for at least 5 minutes. The same waitress then bought over the plates and informed us with a shrug that standard waiting time was at least 15 minutes. I have never found this to be the case before, even when the cafe has been busy. The food was not as nice as usual which may have been due to it hanging around. Disappointed in the standard of service and attitude, not what I expect from Booths.

The most wonderful shopping weekend I think it's possible to have. Beautiful pastries and fresh bread, a deli counter just how they used to be and a fantastic restaurant with great food and even better service. Why can't all supermarkets be like this?

Thought I was going Boots but this was an excellent surprise, great food and variety, very helpful staff!

Just had coffee but it was lovely. Went with a friend today for breakfast. We had poached eggs on toast. The eggs were cooked just right & they use nice bread , just a pity they don't butter to the edges.

Always enjoy browsing Booths. Lots of fresh produce, fruit and vegetables too. Bought a 'pinkie' pork pie to eat 'on the hoof'. Very disappointing. Dry with no jelly. Pork pies should always have jelly in my opinion. Staff always friendly and helpdul

The shop looks nice, but the food is not. Literally all produce I bought, and yes I check my fruit and veg as much as possible, was not fresh to downright ancient. My white potatoes were already sprouting significantly and my baked potatoes went green, never seen anything like it on freshly bought stuff. The expensive black netted sweetclems, are very rarely fresh, more often than not they are shriffled and taste old and chewy. I used to go to Booths for my fruit and veg because I don't trust Aldi and especially Lidl, as the latter rarely has dates on their produce, but I cannot really trust Booths anymore after this yet another ordeal. Fyi; this does not just apply to this store, it happens in the Garstang store just as much, the latter store looks and feels great, bigger than Hale Barns. As to the staff in Hale Barns, they were all gathering and chatting around the potatoes and seemed quite annoyed when I wanted to carry on with my shopping, in hindsight I should have left the store instead because I wasted a lot of money on the potatoes I had to bin straight away

I love booths and all the Sales advisors greet you with a smile and all the attention you need. They literally take u to the item, and even then ask if you require further assistance. Yes, pls pay for my bill! ;)

We called here on our way home the parking was easy but once inside we found things to be rather expensive and we were not very impressed we had a few items in our basket the lady on the till just shoved my items through and didn't take much care of the 2 china mugs I was buying at £14.95 each perhaps she wasn't impressed either don't think that I would rush to go again.

Always great quality food and excellent customer service. Staff always helpful and friendly. Don’t mind the occasional wait because the food is cooked to order and staff are open about the likely wait time.

Can't really fault this excellent and quality stocked supermarket. Plenty of the day to day products most shops along with a great selection of produce that's more niche and independently sourced. It would be difficult to leave empty handed as I feel all pallets are catered for. My only criticism, and hence a 4 star rating, is its pricing, this is not a cheap place to shop, however definitely worth the visit.

Nipped in for breakfast in the cafe. It was busy but got seated no problem. A short wait for our cooked food but it arrived fresh and hot. Quality ingredients well cooked and at a very reasonable price. Will return for sure.

No organisation. Poor service Just waited 35 mins in a queue of only 7 people. The staff are totally disorganised and incapable of using common sense and taking orders. More training is needed for sure. unorganised and a lack of staff. The staff who were working decided to clear tables ( not busy) and wash the pots rather than take orders

Booths, Hale Barnes has a well laid out shop with an excellent café. There is free parking at the rear of the building.

£3-50 for a bacon roll and a coffee, bargain of the day.

Tried 7 supermarkets for tinned raspberries and Booths had them.Well done.Great supermarket, I'll definitely return.
