Booths in Fylde

This was by far a most disappointing visit. My wife had the smallest piece of quiche I have seen with salad and coleslaw. I had the toughest baked potato with just enough cheese to recognise the filling, again with a very small salad. I struggled to cut the baked offering and only persevered because we had waited that long to get the food our tea was nearly cold. I could not recommend eating here. Why did we eat it ? we had waited that long after a long walk I could have eaten a chair, that might have been better. A total waste of time and money.

Oh dear! What a long wait for our lunch! Ordered our drinks and lunch at 12.25 on Thurs. 30th Jan. 2x coffees and a baked potato with prawns, coleslaw and a few lettuce leaves, partner really fancied the ham and eggs with chips. Then the long wait started……. 35 mins later, no meals yet and coffees drunk, so I went to the till assistant, Rowan, who initially served us. She apologised for the long delay and went to enquire in the kitchen what had happened to our order. The cafe was not too busy, however, I noticed that the people after us in the queue had received their sandwiches and chips already! Over 35 mins we waited for the food! Very disappointed when the 2 plates arrived! As you can see from the photos enclosed. One baked potato with a spoon of prawns, a few side salad leaves and toms and a spoon of coleslaw, Hubby got one slice of cold ham, a few chips, a small tub of peas and 2 poorly fried eggs!! Not rocket science to produce! Anyway, as Id complained about the 35 min wait, we got a complementary drink, which again was luke warm by the time our meal arrived. We have eaten here previously a few weeks ago, and again wasn't too happy with the service. However, I would like to praise Rowan for enquiring about our lunch and her good customer service at the till, a very pleasant attitude.

All of the staff are friendly however there are other things that weren't right. We ordered quiche of the day x2 from the specials board but there wasn't any prices on this board. We were asked if we would like it warmed and we said yes. The smokey bacon quiche was very slightly warm in parts other areas were cold. It was a slice from a bigger quiche but it looked sad. The accompanying salad was a handful of baby salad leaves and a couple of small tomatoes and a spoonful of coleslaw. A hot chocolate and flat white. The cost was a shock mid £30's. It wasn't anything special at all and rather dull. We'll visit local businesses for eating when in the area again.

The northern Waitrose but without the gross corporate ethos. Local business and predominantly local suppliers plus better value than people realise.

Booths always delivers on quality and choice, this visit was no exception.

Large selection of quality food and drink items, household and beauty products. Cheese, Deli, hot food, butchers and fish counter. Quality licensed drinks area, magazine and newspaper section. Cafe and wine bar. Customers toilet. A lift to cafe and toilets (stairs are a tad steep.) Flowers and plants. Ample carpark.

Has nowhere near the threatening undercurrent of violence as ASDA so makes for a relaxed but unexciting shopping experience. Nice upstairs café.

Tried this Booths for a meal for the first time yesterday. I thought that the food was good and at a reasonable price. Staff were friendly and helpful. The seating and general layout was pleasant. Despite the restaurant being pretty busy, we were served promptly. There are a lot of places to eat in Lytham but the ones I looked at seem to be overpriced to me.

Good quality produce and good selection. Prices generally not cheap.

Great cafe team very funny and efficient! Delicious food.

Another great example of this excellent regional chain of stores. As you would expect from Booths the store was clean, staff helpful and wonderful selection of high end produce. An added bonus being an EV car driver is having two Instavolt chargers.

Good store, I especially loved the alcohol section, brilliant selection of beer, ales, cider, wine and spirits. Good fruit and veg, freshly squeezed orange juice, all round nice shop. Also has an excellent cafe upstairs.

Visited Booths cafe (lytham) at lunchtime today and our experience of ordering and waiting was the worst we have ever encountered. This was echoed by a few people queueing behind my wife. The management of the cafe simply didn’t exist at all and excuses that the till person was covering multiple roles was weak (as there were many staff standing around). Took 30 mins to order 2 bowls of soup and 2 cold drinks and another 20 mins to have them served. Servers have to walk round looking for a table plastic number you get from the counter. The elderly couple behind my wife in the queue waited over40 minutes to get a toasty. Suggest you change the management, designate permanent table numbers and at least try to improve. We had a similar experience 6 months ago, so nothing has changed. Let me know when you change it and I will be delighted to review your improvements.

Very slow service in the cafe. Scones are very dry and need jam and cream to make them edible .

Always a treat to shop in a Booths store when visiting the Preston area. The stores stock all your favourite items plus lots of local brands that offer something different, both in taste and price. A great range on beers wine and spirits that you will not find elsewhere.

Do think Booths needs to review the Gallery wine bar menu. Few weeks ago they increased prices and reduced the sharing platters by at least 50%. On offer now I would not consider being a ‘sharing platter’. The platters which were on offer before were excellent both in quantity and quality. I would have expected and excepted a price increase but not at the same time such a large reduction in quantity. I noticed that even the Booths staff are embarrassed at what the Booths hospitality team have imposed on this very pleasant wine bar. Think Booths hospitality team need to urgently review and perhaps revise before they loose even more loyal customers to the gallery wine bar at Booths Lytham, they have shot themselves in the foot!

Good store and Cafe, but my gripe is the car park, twice on two separate occasions I've had my car scratched by silly old fool's who can't drive, bang their car door in to your car, they won't take criticism, blame everyone else, but criticise everyone. They are painful.

Always busy in the cafe .Good menu .depends what day you go and time the main shopping 🛍 area is specious so never any problems at the tills and self check outs .they do a bonus card well worth it .

Called in this morning for brunch has usual very busy. No problem getting served but then the problem starts looking for a table .all taken up with people who have obviously finished their meals just sat there chatting .we were lucky has a couple were just leaving. Has usual the meal was excellent. What I did notice is that the same table was still taken with the same four people.still sat there chatting....at least two groups of 4 came in and walked out because they had no table available..

We have loved visiting the wine bar over time. We visited again last weekend with friends and had a pleasant evening. At £8 corkage it’s still good value given the brilliant range of wine but it’s getting to its upper limit in terms of corkage cost. The sharing platters used to be amazing. Now they are smaller with less choice. Whilst a range of hot tapas has been introduced it’s not a patch on the previous offer. And whoever has designed the menu has margined vegetarian diners as the vegetarian platter has been completely removed and not replaced at all with its sub-standard successor. Instead vegetarians can have garlic mushrooms or halloumi off the tapas menu added to by a bowl of crisps for £1.50 which have about ten crisps (this latter point isn’t exaggerated!). It was excellent value previously and probably too cheap. But why not just put the prices up rather than ruining what was a winning formula. We will probably return at some point but maybe just for a drink and nibbles prior to going somewhere that does properly cater for all diners.

As many of you are aware yesterday the 19/7/24 there was a computer glitch that hit many businesses. Some resorting to revert to cash only. It would appear that Booths in Lytham did this . My 86 year old disabled mother-in-law goes into Booths on a regular basis. It just so happened that when she went to pay for her goods yesterday they told her at the till it was cash only. This panicked her as she wasn't sure if she had enough cash to pay for the shopping. It would appear that she almost had enough cash however she was 5 pence short. My mother in law said well cancel my trolley and I will go and get the 5p and I will go through again. The cashier said no don't worry I will wait for you. Mum eventually managed to walk to her car and get 5p and return to pay for her shopping. As you can imagine this took quite a few minutes. By this time the que for the checkout was quite substantial. This caused my mother in law massive embarrassment and quiet upset her So on behalf of me and my family well done booths ! You managed to humiliate and upset an 86 year old disabled lady for 5 pence. Now that is customer service for you......

Good selection of quality food. Friendly staff but annoying that they have removed the self service tills forcing you to wait in line.

We have enjoyed the Wine Bar on many occasions with friends and family Last Friday we took friends that had not been before. We did not realise that the new menu had started. The sharing boards which have always been excellent quality and enough for two people had suddenly shrunk, by half, now not enough to share along with the quality and the range . The bread served was also just cheap white bread not the usually quality brown or flat breads The two Platters we choose had more tomato and leaves on than the key ingredients The fish platter was so small and now contained lower quality as well as tiny ramekins of fish pate It was embarrassing so embarrassing that we did not eat to ensure our friends had enough Looking at new reviews and talking to other people, we will not becoming back As always the staff are amazing So the person/s at Head Office who I presume carried out extensive research,well done, you have just ruined one of Lytham best kept secrets.

They have a good range of food for breakfast, at a reasonable price.

Went to try the new menu in the wine bar. We had the fish sharing platter which turned out to be overpriced for what we got. Talking with other customers it would seem that the prices have gone up and the portions have become smaller. Will not recommend.

I am a regular customer as live near to the supermarket. I go nearly every day to buy some cooked breakfast before I go to work. This particularly morning (03/07) found a very ignorant and lack of knowledge of customer service young guy who served me. I told him what I would like to order he asked me back about 4 times what sauce I would like. when finally got my sandwich and I wanted to order something else too he just walked away without say anything else or thanks...very very rude service...

The shop is great. Good fresh meat counter (their lamb chops are excellent) and an extensive wine sales area. The cafe upstairs is not as good as it used to be. I had the worst fish pie ever, and my three guests were not enthralled. I asked if it had now been contracted out, but was told that it had not. But a great store nevertheless. Plenty of parking.

Since removal of self service tills I have always been caught in queues for a few pounds if shopping. Terrible

I dont do a weekly shop here but if i want something special or different i know i can probably get it at Booths , it got a grate cafe very fresh cakes and lovely coffee ,

I shop at Booths store all the time and use the caffe regularly. Recently caffe menu changed for the worse. Alot of food they serve now is not healthy. Sandwiches they serve comes with thick bread even the cheese on toast is on a thick bread. Gluten free cakes have disappeared. When most of the caffes trying to bring in healthy food options Booths caffe seems to be doing the opposite. I no longer invite friends to have lunch there which is a shame. The staff are lovely and friendly it has a wonderful atmosphere but I am sorry to say food is not good anymore 😕

Popped in for breakfast. Don't know anything about the shop but the breakfast was good and reasonably priced but it doesn't cater for passing trade as members get a discount.

OK and quality goods but a bit pricey

It's a nice clean grocery shop. Not the cheapest, but quality is good and speciality goods and spices can be bought here. Not a big supermarket but big enough. Always enjoy shopping here.

New Menu. Very very expensive and not a lot of choice. A bacon bap with two small thin slices of bacon...£4.50p !!! Taking portion control to its limits. Shame really, we used to do Booths for breakfasts every Monday and Thursday then shop in-store. Not anymore now it's costing us £7 more per week for same breakfast as before. Better and less expensive places in Lytham. Bye bye Booths....

Great place with excellent fresh produce and great Booze section and very covid friendly!! This shop has a brilliant meat and counter and the desserts are to die for !! It is quite expensive but they do have some great offers on all the time !I Wouldn't do my weekly shop here however !!

It's great to see that Booths is standing by the exemplary standards set in their 19th century beginnings. It is one of the few places where you can be sure to find many of the very best products - as shown by their commitment to dealing with and displaying some of the best B corp status businesses.

Very nice store with the usual Booths faire. Carpark is not huge however & has priority parking for residents in nearby flats which adds to difficulties parking at peak times.

Just wanted to compliment Ben, on the hot sandwich counter today, for taking the time to cut lean gammon for my sandwich. Thanks Ben, much appreciated :)

Small breakfast enough for an adult but would have liked black pudding on it, reasonable prices £6.50. Drink expensive £4 coffee £5 tea, food hot and served quickly. Can bath busy at peak times. Would like the lady at the till to smile because she’s never appears to

We always go for lunch at Booths when we visit Lytham but we’re noticing a lowering of previous high standards. Lukewarm food, skimpy portions on toasties, unwiped table, dirty side plate, meal arriving in instalments, meaning some family members eaten before some people’s meals have even arrived Very disappointing compared to other local Booths cafes.

Great competitor to waitrose but with a friendlier feel. Staff are lovely and always helpful with a smile.

Very disappointed that the policy of removing self service isn't actioned at this store.3pm on a Saturday and only 2 checkouts open and staff directing people to a massive queue for self service checkouts. My understanding is that booths were publicising how they were closing self service and bringing more staff onto checkout tills. Clearly not a Lytham where they actively point you to self service !

Asking for a scone (correctly pronounced like gone) I was corrected by some arrogant little teen waitress who attempted to correct me and says “it’s pronounced scone” (as in cone). Not only confident in here wrong reply, but you’re working in booths cafe, hardly somewhere that needs to correct customers and the pronunciation of a f**king cake.

Every one is so relaxed. Staff are really polite. Tried loads of cheese at the cheese counter and brought loads of cheese so tasty.

Excellent supermarket. It's not very big but is packed with a diverse selection of products, and I was able to get everything I needed. Added to this is the cafe, really nice choices of food and drinks and plenty of seating. And if that's not enough there's a gallery wine bar to relax in before or after your shopping expedition - awesome!

Booths has turned into my supermarket of choice! It may not be the cheapest, but it is certainly one of the best for quality and choice. The store was clean, tidy, well lit, and airy. The shelves were all well stocked. The staff are always friendly and helpful. If I have one very slight issue, it's with the car park, but hey, I'll cope! Highly recommended! Will call here again.

Always a pleasant shopping experience.

Went here for breakfast. The food was good and freshly prepared, so it was worth waiting a few minutes for it to be brought to my table. Bacon, sausage, tomato, fried egg, beans, and hash brown. There's no real place for beans or a hash brown on an "English Breakfast" so 4 instead of 5 stars.

This used to be such a nice shop. Pleasant staff, nice bakery and great service. Now there is usually too few manned tills open. No bakery staff and the service has gone down. Trying to find anyone on the drink section is also almost impossible.

Used the serve yourself till, was left waiting for a member of staff to override our purchase for over 5 minutes. Over priced supermarket couldn't afford a full shop here.

Some staff are truly miserable, but then so are a lot of the customers! Good range of stuff but expensive.
