Dont order Fish chips and mushy peas the food took a while to come out so I thought it would be fresh and look amazing. The fish batter was brown looked like it had been trodden on about 5 times, mushy peas where just a dry lump of green chips full or grease 🤢 I would of been embarrassed serving that

I came to get some food on Saturday with my partner. At the bar we were informed that the kitchen was closed due to staff emergencies, which is annoying but how could we argue with that?. Me and my wife settled for a few drinks before we were told to leave as they were closing the pub, due to these “staff emergencies”. Turns out, later on facebook it was revealed the landlord hadn’t paid their wages! It’s a shame because their opening weekend was quite decent if i do say so, the food and service has always been good. Just a shame that landlords can think they can take the mick out of young people these days

Sunday dinner could cut through the beef and frozen veg

Come here most weekends for some food and a drink the food is amazing never had a problem with it the salt and chilli chips are to die for !! Nice atmosphere with friendly staff can't really ask for much more.

The pub may look spacious on the outside but very cramped inside. Looked like the pub was being run by young teenagers who were all dressed in casual clothes. I phoned up before we went to check that they were still serving food, with it being Easter Monday. Told them there was 4 people plus a baby. We were put right by the kitchen, who were blasting music. My son was sat at an angle as the TV was jutting out of the wall. The waitress took our drink order. We gave her our order. While we were waiting for our starters another table was seated, served with drinks and food before our garlic bread with cheese was brought out. The garlic bread was pretty hard on the bottom which made it hard to eat, but my 2 teens ate it anyway. The mains were ok, all be it small portions for the price. To be honest I couldn't wait to leave as we felt extremely cramped and didn't feel welcome at all. Don't think we will be returning any time soon.

Popped in for Lunch ..our first visit The Sunday lunch was lovely Staff very friendly and fabulous that our dog Albert was Welcomed with Dog Treats too .. definitely be visiting again

Had the Sundsy lunch, the beef was like leather and I was unable to eat it, also the parsnips were overcooked and hard. Complained but this wasn't dealt with very well at all. I would not recommend eating here

Good traditional English Pub with warm friendly bar staff, good beers and tasty food. Pub really moving in the right direction.

Lovely dog friendly pub. Allowed all 3 of our border terriers in and offered a water bowl. Lovely atmosphere and we felt very comfortable whilst in there. Sometimes when we have the dogs with us we feel uncomfortable or on edge. There was none of that here. We will most definitely be back when we are in the area.

Went with a party of 20 for Christmas mea. Good food, service a bit slow, long time between first and last main meals served with long gaps

We attended the Boxing Day brass band afternoon and were extremely impressed with the service from staff at the pub. We enjoyed drinks and pizza as well as the brilliant festive brass tunes xx we will definitely be back

If I had a complaint it would be could have been a bit more gravy

Ordered pie and mash . Pie crust rock hard when l told the staff she said it’s ok don’t worry about it ! Then said if l had told them they would have done something about it . At no time did any staff come back to ask if everything was ok with our meal . Very poor service

Stopped here for Sunday lunch, £13.95, not the best by any stretch of the imagination, waited, about half an hour, if it was busy, thats fine, but it was quite, when it came, the roast beef was very hard to cut, even with a steak knife, some of the veg was over cooked, some not, some of our party had fish and chips and that was fine, but the Sunday lunch not, one young lad trying to do it all, serving at the bar and bringing out the food out, only cold water in the loos, and no soap, in either the ladies or the gents, not good enough, in places its clean but it does need a face life.

Had lunch not sure if it’s a new chef. But portion sizes have shrunk a lot. To how it used to be for the price. So give it a miss in future

Friendly welcome. Lovely food. Pleasant outside area. Great Guinness and brilliant value, 2 pints for under a tenner! We'll be back next Sunday!

One to avoid, just so noisey that you cant hear yourself think or talk. A bit scruffy too. Tables of lads vaping and swearing and being lewd. Had a single drinks round and left without finishing them.

Went in for a drink. Got bypassed by one staff member to serve someone else. Another staff member (female) dressed very inappropriately in shorts and a crop top helped herself to a drink but didn’t serve anyone. Third staff member served us but was also dressed quite inappropriately (TikTok pants) showed everything! Ordered a Malibu & Coke. No ice offered and served in a small plastic glass. Worse experience ever unfortunately

Basic pub food but was good it's a local drinkers pub, a lot of loud drunk customers swearing loudly so wouldn't recommend for a family but the staff were very friendly

Came here for tea whilst staying at the nearby campsite. This place is not geared up for food at all. The service was really poor. We waited nearly an hour for food when no-one else was eating. I then ordered 2 children’s cookie dough’s for pudding to be told the time it takes to cook is 20 minutes so we changed the order so we didn’t need to wait and then the alternative didn’t come for 25 minutes! The food that was served was just ok. Would definitely not recommend!

Absolutely amazing fantastic food and fantastic staff we fell on this place about 18 months ago we are here most weekends will not have a roast any were else we go some evenings too we live about an hour away but well worth the drive amazing place highly recommended

What a top place. Natasha could not do enough for us. Nothing was too much trouble and Abbey works so hard, bless her. Made to feel like part of the family.

After a recommendation and good reviews I came here with my wife for our anniversary, mixed grill for myself, steak was a bit tough as it was more well done than rare, that I'd asked for, but I ate it because I was hungry, my wife sent hers back because she couldn't cut it, 5 mins later someone came over and asked if she wanted another one cooking, her steak was meant to be medium to rare, the first was clearly over done the second was only nice in the middle but still tough in places and I'd eaten mine by the time it came , but she ate through being hungry, nobody came over to check if her food was ok, when she paid the bill, she wasn't asked about the food, the worst £35+ we've spent, we ended up going to the ship for a beautiful dessert in a packed restaurant, where the staff couldn't do enough, so if you're thinking of bypassing other restaurants in favour of the coach and horses, think again, I don't normally post reviews, but we were both bitterly disappointed

Visited the pub for a meal whilst staying at a nearby caravan park. The staff were really friendly and the food, although it was your basic pub grub, was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

The food was excellent. The service was fabulous too. Can't fault it at all. They launching a quiz night was was also very good; the only issue is that there were not many people at the quiz; so we are putting the word out, Over all a great evening.

We went for a drink on Friday. I had lunch and the food was brilliant. As the barmaid told us, “cooked from fresh” and it showed. 100% quality. The barmaid was fantastic, friendly, funny and a credit to the Coach and Horses. Recommended.

Friendly service , however the sunday roast wasn't brilliant the veg was to hard to eat the food came out piping hot then went cold very quickly. Expensive for what it is. The coach and horses in Harrogate is alot better.

Popped in for a bite to eat on the way back to Blackpool with the fella. What a lovely place, nice warm cosy atmosphere. Staff were lovely and personable we had a good giggle with Tash who was serving us. Wonderful lady absolute credit to the place. Starters we shared the Stilton and garlic button mushrooms, very tasty, nicely presented. Just the right balance of stilton .. not to overpowering but you knew it was there. Mains I had the Roast duo and you could choose from beef, chicken and pork, I went for the chicken and pork combo. I have to say it is one of the best Sunday dinners I have had out. The chicken was lovely and moist just dropped off the bone, and the pork was so tender it just melted. It was refreshing as well to have what seemed to be proper mash from fresh it tasted amazing. The fella had the Mushroom bourguignon pie, the pastry was lovely and melted in the mouth, the sauce the mushrooms were in was rich and full of flavor. He really enjoyed it. Empty plates all round. Fab food, lovely environment, glad we stopped. Will be back again in the near future

A party of 4, two of us ordered the mixed grill which was £17.50 each for; frozen chips and peas, one sausage, two dried up chicken wings and a 1.5 inch thin disc of steak - part way through we both realised we had no gammon on our plate, we complained and this arrived 10 minutes later. Dessert didn’t fair much better, a slice of dried up chocolate cake with the smallest scoop of ice cream, must’ve used a melon baller to scoop it - but we were lucky, my wife’s rhubarb and apple crumble was still frozen solid in the centre - she returned it and told them not to bother replacing it. Sadly a spoiled Christmas celebration ruined by a lazy chef, we will never be returning again, Freckletom has other and better eateries.

Service was good. Well priced. We were just visiting someone in the area so not our usual haunt. Would definitely go again.

Positives: 1) Decent draught beer 2) Nice decor and cosy pub Negatives: 1) Utterly dreadful service, in fact some of the worst I’ve ever experienced - Asked to order food at the bar, miserable waitress muttered “yeah sure” and wandered over to the till, she then spent at least 30 seconds texting someone on her phone right in front of me. I very nearly told her not to bother!! When the food arrived it was literally slung onto the table by her colleague, so much so it shocked the other four people who were just having a drink and not dining! Nobody came to ask if the food was ok, it was probably a good job because I would’ve demanded my money back. 2) Below average food - Ordered the chicken tikka wrap, what I actually received was bland chicken curry in a supermarket type sauce folded up in a sort of naan bread. Far too much sauce for a wrap, about three pieces of chicken and the bread was thick and tasteless. I left most of it and went to the chip shop over the road which was quite good. This is my first and last visit to this pub, so many better places around and the service was absolutely shocking. 1/10.

Nice little village pub with friendly staff!

Extremely poor service today at this Pub which my sister and I regularly requent when in the area. We were served by a (very) young member of staff who, rather than trying to rectify the situation decided to "argue the toss" with me. We were two elderly ladies who seated ourselves in the Snug and were able to immediately give our food and drinks orders to said young member of staff. It was down hill all the way after that. 15 minutes went by before I went out to the bar to find out where our drinks were - no luck. On a second occasion, I saw our staff member serving other people instead. On a third occasion (very angry by then) I was told they were very busy - 6 other people only in the Pub. There were two other staff behind the counter also. When I pointed out that the other people he had been serving had only just entered the pub the member of staff mumbled under his breath and continued to wipe down the bar counter. I did get an apology from the ? Manager and a free bottle of still water, but by then the damage had been done. Will we go back again? Debateable. The two stars are for the foof which was good and we said so.

Always enjoy going to this friendly Freckleton favourite. Known for decades as Ponky's, the pub continues to impress. As I type this it's £3.70 for a cracking pint of Boddingtons. They say you can't eat value, but you can definitely drink it.

Decent establishment to go to for the main meal of the day or for something lighter. Staff are very friendly and the food is most enjoyable. Nog too badly priced that it hurts your wallet. Nice comfortable surroundings to relax in.

Landlord and landlady looked a little scruffy and not very particular. Food was awful and service wasn't very good. All round a poor but expensive experience. Fancy sounding menu but the food really wasn't very good and restaurant prices.

Fantastic pub with good food selections on menu. Not had a bad meal in the place even though been busy when I've been in. We kept beers also a major plus.

Just had a lovely Roast Dinner, the beef was tender, plenty of vegetables, yorkshire pudding and yummy roast potatoes. The place is kept very clean, and the service prompt and courteous. The meal was reasonably priced. You got plenty. Would highly recommend it.
