The best coffee and pastries in Sunderland!

This used to be a cracking pastry bakery with always delicious treats. I’m not sure what had changed in the last 6 months but the quality of the desserts is shocking. I got a small mocca cake and a caramel croissant , both not nice to eat. If I had those in the coffee shop I would have returned them immediately. Really disappointed paying £10 for those two desserts.

We sat at the bar as we called in by chance without a reservation. The bar staff are great, very friendly and the guy serving us made a real effort to make us feel welcome. Drinks are fairly priced and the place has a good atmosphere. Live music with a good variation of songs. Only downside was when a gentleman came in asking for a cup to be filled with water for a homeless girl across the street, the man who was greeting and seating ushered him out saying he would take it out but didn't. 10 mins later another person came in and asked and he ushered him out but then did eventually take some water out. Not sure why he just couldn't help the first time.

Great night live music .nice to try the different beers and nice and warm room.The locals are great and made us feel very welcome

Best hot beef sandwich in Northumberland. You will not be disappointed! Excellent service fabulous atmosphere. We will be back!

It was the best coffee in town. Not a long of spaces but if you come to the market, make sure you get a coffee from here

I was disappointed in the lack of tuna and cheese filing for £8.45 but the panani bread, coleslaw and salad were nice so 3 is a fair score. Usually you get plenty so I'm not sure what happened today.

Nice.i like this place i would go again

I last wrote a review of Chadwick's six years ago. That was a five star. We regularly visit and there isn't anywhere, in our experience, which comes close to the meal quality offered here. In my last review I praised the coffee (americano for me) and the scones. They're still superb. Yesterday my wife and I both had home made corned beef with two fried eggs on top with a salad and chips. It was absolutely brilliant. This was followed by a baklava and a Greek dessert, the name of which eludes me, but it tasted of delicate vanilla. These two dishes were halved and shared. Superb. Finally another excellent coffee. Yesterday's meal was so special that I just felt another review was long overdue. According to Google's rules I had to delete my earlier one. I must also mention the staff who are really friendly and efficient. Thank you, everyone.

Buena comida, realmente disfruté lo que tenía. Había unas 4 señoras trabajando y siendo súper amable con los clientes. Mientras me abría paso en la cola me di cuenta de que un miembro del personal era tan inteligente y miserable que temía ser servido por ella! Por supuesto que la entendí a ella y la expresión miserable, las pestañas falsas horribles gigantes y el hecho de que ella estaba llamando a todo el mundo compañero era solo poner para mí personalmente. Vergüenza porque ella era el único problema destacado
