Never to be repeated. Paid £14.95 each for our Golden Wedding. The picture on line was nothing like we got. On the picture for 2 people were 4 finger sandwiches, 4 rolls, 2 cornbeeef pie and 2 quiche, a number of crackers, and 3 types of sweet, strawberry tart, brownie and cheesecake, and 2 scones and jam and 2 teabags. We received, 6 small sandwiches, 2 buns, 2 very thin slices of pie and quiche, 2 crackers and cheese with grapes, 2 orange brownies and 2 cheesecake that fell to bits. The base turned to mush and it looked dreadful on plate. We got 4 scones, 2 fruit and 2 cheese, who can eat or want 2 scones, you want a variety.and no tea bags. Paid £29.90 for what should have been a treat. Ended up doing sausage rolls, pizza and chicken wings to fill us up. You can get an afternoon tea at Morrisons for £10 for two and it puts this £30 one to shame. Definitely won’t order another or recommend this one.

We visited the cafe today (3/9/22) at around 12:15. We were the only couple in the cafe at the time of ordering (& throughout our stay). Our order was for Olivia's Special Breakfast Butty & a Tuna Toasted Sandwich + 2 coffees. After 15 mins from ordering we were told they had no large rolls left & offered bloomer bread in lieu. It then took another 15 mins (30 mins in total) before we got our food. Whilst our coffees did come quicker, they were now cold by the time the food arrived. The toasted sandwich was dry and, one of the forks had dried egg on it. Also, no sauces were offered or visibly available. Overall it was a very disappointing experience & we would not go there again.

Wasn't impressed to say the least, when I visited olivias today. Only asked for a latte and one cup of tea . Waited up to 15 mins (there were only 2 customers inside), to be told they had forgot about us. Waited another 10 mins, my latte was cold, had to ask for sugar, spoons and remind them a drink of water for our dog. I asked for my latte to be heated up but was told she couldn't and brought me some hot milk.!!!??. Me and my daughter were disgusted at the service, and we just left leaving our drinks .. the young girl was training, but where was the manager teaching her.??? Won't ever be back !!!!

Very friendly and welcoming, not able to do enough for you. Even when I went today I was told my company would be welcomed just as much if not more than this time. A place you're very much appreciated every time you go. A friend of mine wants to meet me to learn craft work. I think this would be the best place to go as there's a very large window where all the tables are. If we don't go for our crafts I know it's a doggy cafe too so we're fine to take our dogs with us. As a friend and daughter would like to learn crafts I rang the girls to see if we could spend some time there. I was told we'd be very welcome so please don't hesitate. We decided to give this place another try, as the tea room opposite on the village green was absolutely packed. It was 2.45 pm when we went; duly scanned the QR code, sanitised our hands, poked our noses through the door, to be told, "sorry we have had to close early today." In the immortal words of Victor Meldrew, "I don't believe it." Been there twice and same response both times. No wonder the tea room opposite was packed. I really don't know why this place bothers. Once again the door was open and the lights on. If you are closed, shut the door and lock it. Once bitten, twice, never again. They don't deserve the business.

Gasping for a drink, we thought we would give Olivia's a try and support local businesses in the community. Called at 3.15 pm on Wednesday, only to be told that they were closed. The door was open and all the lights were on, so it certainly looked open. What is it with tea shops? None of them appear to like working. I wasn't impressed with the steep disabled ramp, taking up the whole of the entrance. Whilst the intentions are clearly good, the severity of it would require some serious muscle power, either on the chair user or whoever was pushing. I didn't have my chair and would have found the slope difficult to walk up. Considering the nearest safe parking is some distance away, it does seem to defeat the object of catering for the disabled and becomes more of a lip service to the cause.

Fantastic, friendly, coffee shop. Excellent coffee and the white chocolate cheesecake was excellent. They do cooked food too - the Full English breakfast which wafted past me heading for another table at 2:30pm looked amazing with its perfectly fried eggs, not that I'm envious in any way, oh no. Any suggestions to lift it another notch? Only to ask for a fork as well as a spoon with something like the cheesecake as it would make eating it just a mite easier, but, otherwise, it's absolutely great and thoroughly recommended!

When we visited we received a warm, friendly welcome and shown to our reserved table. The cafe is nice and cosy with a lovely view of the pretty village green. A great location. We had lunch and some coffees - the menu was offered a fine selection of options and the quality of food was excellent, great value for money too. Both of the people meeting here found it hard to spot, possibly because it's set on an angle to the road, and its pebble dashed side wall makes you assume it's a public loo. If you struggle as we did, stand in front of the Celtic cross with the church behind you and it's over the road. We visited on an insanely hot afternoon which did the place no favours, as it's kitted out with heavy soft furnishings on every seat which retained a huge amount of heat. But the lady behind the counter was really friendly, the tea was strong with a good size cup, not the usual tea shop thimble, and fancy getting extra grated cheese with our cheese scones. The loo had been left in a right state by some foul individual and was immaculately cleaned as soon as the staff became aware of the issue. In 32 degree heat that cannot have been fun, but the lady's good humour never wavered. She's a credit to the place.

The adults had 3 deep filled sandwiches- Tuna, cheese savoury & egg mayonnaise + an extra LOL themed ham sandwich ! The deserts were delicious but just too filling for me! The cheesecake was gorgeous, the brownies yummy & the scone delicious. While waiting my daughter had an LOL colouring sheet to colour with crayons on the table. She was thrilled with her ‘magic’ drink! Her shimming juice! It cost £19.80 in total for the 2 of us, would highly recommend and definitely return. Daughter still talking about it!

I've just returned from here after going for Mother's Day afternoon tea. It was lovely. The establishment itself is nicely decorated and for being just a small place there was quite a few tables to fit a number of people. The staff were pleasant and welcoming and did everything they could to make our visit enjoyable. Having never had Afternoon tea before I wasn't sure how a few sandwiches and cakes could fill you but I was absolutely stuffed! The choice of sandwiches we had were egg mayo, ham, tuna, and cheese savoury. We each had a cheese scone and a fruit scone (with jam and clotted cream to accompany it.) Cakes included profiterole, chocolate brownie and a big wedge of cheesecake. The children were given a kid's alternative of ham and dairylea sandwiches, red velvet cupcakes, rainbow sponge cake and a selection of sweets and crisps. A glass of orange juice and a hot drink each were included in the cost. After the kids had eaten they were asked if they wanted to go into the children's corner and have their faces painted, which they happily did! A lovely little eatery with a nice atmosphere and importantly, tasty food.

The sandwich tree has been a solid go-to for many whenever I’m in the area. The quality of the food has always been 5 stars. The service has always been great. The prices have always been reasonable. They have a great selection of food, drinks, deserts, and everything is great quality. It may be a little bit of a wait at dinner time with all of the local business going there for their dinner however it is worth the wait. I would recommend the chicken tikka sandwich.

Attended a party here last night, Terrible service and drinks. The staff were miserable definitely no service with smiles in this place. I do agree with the last review, the staff need customer service training. Gin with a warm bottle of cheap lemonade for my first drink, Then I got a glass of Warm Prosecco (which I was advised by the staff that the party guests were drinking far to quick so can’t chill quick enough)🥴 Then I received a flat dreg from a different kind of Prosecco bottle which I had to send back. Then I noticed each round of the same drinks I was being charged different prices. When questioned I was told I should be lucky that I have been undercharged the previous time🥴 Good job this place is at the bottom end of the town so it was a 1 off visit, I’ll not have to visit again.

Had been to the Sunday Market at South Shields. We decided to go again to Suzies cafe for a coffee. We found a parking space and my husband went to get them I had a hot soup (vegable) and my husband had a coffee. Both really enjoyable. While were.sitting in the car.a car pulled in a disabled bay, no disabled badge.on. They didn't pay. I'm disabled and .always show my badge. Then another car pulls.up ( we were in a norma bayl as no disable.were free when we parked) along beside us, gets out dad,ma m amdchild. They too didn't pay. When we were coming out spotted two traffic wardens - hope 2 cars get a ticket.
