The Sandwich Tree in Sunderland

The sandwich tree has been a solid go-to for many whenever I’m in the area. The quality of the food has always been 5 stars. The service has always been great. The prices have always been reasonable. They have a great selection of food, drinks, deserts, and everything is great quality. It may be a little bit of a wait at dinner time with all of the local business going there for their dinner however it is worth the wait. I would recommend the chicken tikka sandwich.

Great assortment of food at great value, queue can be long at peak time but only a proof of the quality!

Found this little place via google maps on route to a craft group near by - delicious fresh food with plenty of options available. In the short time we were there it was busy with folk coming in and out for their work lunches and I’m not surprised x

Lovely wide selection of food to suit everyone's palate.

Sandwiches and salads always have lots of filling and not badly priced. Good few times we have ordered via app and had food delivered always friendly either in the shop or deliveries. Keep a look out for daily specials too

Ordered a bacon ,sausage ,cheese barm with brown sauce. The barm was big, tasty the sausages and the bacon was frazzled and I mean crispy as f**k don't know how long they'd been there. Also the cheese was just sprinkled ontop. Its best when it's melted on. Shame really as the lunch time food chicken buttys etc are really nice, salad is crisp n fresh .cheese and ham panini is really good too

Been here a few times when passing , had ok'ish food, kinda quickness hole filler kinda place. The last straw was today, asked for a slice of pie to be warmed up , was meant to be corned beef and potatoe. I dare say it was 85 percent potatoe and very little corned beef . But to top it off got charged over 3 quid for a slice of pie which was like eating warmish lumpy mash inside wet cardboard, 1 star food at 5 star prices . Will not be going again

Been a few times normally can't complain the wife work near by and raves about this place. Got a breakfast wrap today n thought there wasnt much in the wrap for £4 but will be returning and will be purchasing again will just stick with the breakfast panini

We have recently started to use The Sandwich Tree for lunches at work. The variety of menu and quality of ingredients are second to none. Would have no hesitation in recommending The Sandwich Tree

Really nice selection of deli stuff. Probably not the cheapest. Bought a salad box, packet of crisps and a small water and it came to £5.15.

We ordered a buffet for a little party for our boss going on baby vacation and it was absolutely beautiful. The sandwich selection suited everyone and we were really impressed with the portion sizes. This has to be the place to go if your hungry or just need a snack. The staff are amazing the place is unbelievably clean and well presented. The food is amazing hot or cold the food you get is tasty,filling and quite simply lovely!!! If your close by pop in you will not regret it !!

Often pop in here on the morning excellent breakfast sarnies with free coffee before 10.30am. Lovely staff, they even know my order without telling them.

Used to go or order from here a lot but recently the food is nowhere near as it was. Ordered a bacon and egg sandwich and when I came to eat it the bun was huge with 2 tiny rashers bacon and an hard egg with very little sauce, before you would get a lot more, filling the bun if anything. For the price you would expect more. Won't be going back in a hurry.

I hate to say it but this Mackem sandwich shop is best in North East. That's coming from a Geordie

Been coming here for lunch 1 or 2 times a week for the last 6-7 years. The deli sarnies are always fresh and plenty filling provided!! The jacket potatoes are a good size and always cooked right, soft in the centre. The morning hot sarnies and tasty and very cheap, £2 gets you a sarnie with a filter coffee. The staff are always friendly and easy to get along with even at packed lunchtimes, but they work tirelessly to move through the queues quickly. Loads of choice on offer for a local deli, will continue to return as a regular customer!

I'd just been to a local car dealership and was so close I had to drop in here to organise my lunch - I used to work at lloyds TSB's contact centre nearby, and was probably their best customer, almost ten years ago. Today, the place has a new vibrance and organisation about it - gone is the newsagenty bit, replaced by an open seating area. Refitted and very pleasant. the same excellent choice, and the baps are even bigger and tastier than they used to be

I order from here to Nissan for my shift at work. Food is very good quality and they have a very wide range of food on there menu, from breakfast items to chocolate brownies to fruit pots, some of us went for a healthy option granola pots, they were layers of granola with layers off natural yoghurt with fruit absolutely awesome :))

There is a good selection Of sandwiches available. I have tried several of their choices and they are ok. I would imagine now that Greggs has opened nearby that they may lose some customers.

This place is a hidden gem. You don't get sandwich shops like it these days. I travel from Newcastle every Saturday to get my fix. From the great value paninis to the variety of tasty local produce sandwiches not to mention the breakfast items that the place has to offer. This blows the big branded mass produced food chains out of the water. The place is immaculate, the staff are well presented and have good knowledge of what their delicious menu has to offer. If only we had a sandwich tree in Newcastle upon Tyne it would save me the tunnel fare . Keep up the good work as always

We had been ordering lunch from here for a number of months. They offer a delivery service which we thought would be a good idea due to the number of orders we usually submit. (10 + people) At first the quality of the food was very good and mostly on time. Lately the quality of the food has gone down hill and the deliveries are erratic, to the point where the food does not arrive until after our lunch break has finished. In some cases some of the order has not been delivered. We will only be going back here as a last resort.

I have been coming here for years, when it was the pantry and now the sandwich tree . The staff are amazing I can not fault them and the food is beautiful especially the brownies 5 out of 5 for everything

A very nice stop off point during the week, quick, clean and very tasty sandwiches. This place is small and is a bit off the beat and track being mostly hidden from passing vehicles, which is a shame as the food here is really good. The sandwiches area good size and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit and lovely staff too.
