DH9 Cafe in County Durham

Great cafe however the problem why can't visit again is one and half hour silly parking times we received £100 fine for being 20 minutes over our time so sadly won't be visiting Stanley again

Been here a few time and Cakes have been stale a number of times. Asked for some squirty cream with mine and the cream tasted like it had gone off. Definite concern if they are serving expired food. Staff are also generally very unfriendly and rude. I've went in once and nobody was there. I will not be going back.

Great cafe. hard to get a seat as its popular. Seems a bit pricey but I dont mind because they're always really nice and independent. I always call in when I'm in Stanley.

Amazing cakes and paninis. My son felt thoroughly spoilt by the staff and loved his brownie.

1st visit for me,we had lemon meringue cheesecake, wow the best I have tried in a long time,great service and reasonable prices.

Lovely little cafe with delicious cakes and coffee. Sandwiches were good too, brilliant service from the girls serving. Coffee and cake for £4.50 brilliant value, yummy too, will be back!

DH9 cafe is a lovely little spot with treats galore. Super warm, with a 45-minute limit on how long customers can sit it (meaning you’ll always be able to snag a seat!) and lots of outdoor seating. They also had soya milk which is great for someone lactose intolerant like me! Staff were friendly and there was some nice music playing with a mixture of festive and pop tunes.

Wonderful coffee wonderful cake and pastry selection

got a peach melba and a chocolate éclair and they where both off. they tasted very bitter. tow weeks before I bourght my mam a slice of cheese cake and she has since told me that was also off. I was shocked as they looked fab.

First time trying this little gem of a place today and I'll definitely be back. Bought a box of cakes to take away and everyone commented on how delicious they were. Go hungry because the portions are huge! Lovely helpful staff too.

Up here for a family wedding staying at Hotel52. Decided to walk into town and came across this gem of a coffeehouse, nice coffee and huge homemade cakes which you can see being freshly made. I had a cherry scone which was warmed in the oven and served with jam and butter, very very nice indeed. If you are up here then this is well worth a visit 👍

The food is to die for. Wonderful staff with a great atmosphere. Spotless, definitely recommend.

Best hot chocolates in county durham

I bought a piece of cake costing £3, when i got home it was stale, so i took back the next day!! She literally screamed at me , and said how dare i bring it back. and she just kept on screaming at me, i left the cake on the counter. so that's £3 down the drain i am a disabled lady in my 60's i was so embarrassed. will never return. Horrid staff.

My wife and myself went into Dh9 cafe today to purchase some scones & cakes for my parents. While we were there, we decided to choose cakes for ourselves. My wife seemed satisfied with her choice, however, my Apple Turnover, had a lot of cream, but not much apple. For the price charged, I won't be rushing to get another (9/8/2021).

Just popped in for a cuppa ,had a pork pie ,best I have tasted anywhere , took one home, the corned beef pie looks amazing,and all the cakes were amazing too ,the coffee and tea was fantastic as was the service I live in hebburn but will definitely be back,the staff are friendly and the place is spotless must try if you are visiting Stanley ,

I had a really tasty bacon bap and a cup of tea, my partner had a sausage bap which he said was delicious and a cup of tea. The cafe was really clean and the staff were very friendly. The bill came to £7 for both of us total bargain. I will visit again to try the scrumptious looking cakes.

What a hidden treat this place is!! My mate and I called in last week for a quick coffee and bite to eat - polite and friendly staff with a quick and efficient service - I ordered a large latte and a sausage and egg breakfast bun. A very generous portion size was a delight for me, quality products too which I could tell by the quality of the sausage meat, coked to perfection too!!. My mate ordered the same and was equally as impressed. A surprisingly cheap price too - for what we paid as well it was 100% value for money. Well worth a visit and we will be calling back for sure. Keep the good work!!

They have a amazing range of choices, fantastic atmosphere and customer service! Best coffee i have had in a long time! Dog friendly that’s suits me perfectly for when I finish a walk with the dog! Cream cakes are to die for best value for money! 10/10 recommend!

I often go to DH9 Cafe in Stanley for many reasons that go beyond eating their delicious, hand-made cakes and drinking their coffee. It’s a social hub of the North East, where people from all walks of life have the opportunity to connect. I’ve met so many different people and heard so many stories. It’s a place that turns strangers into familiar faces. Although I don’t get to go as often anymore, every time I’m greeted as if I’d only been gone five minutes with the warmth of a smile and steaming latte. I absolutely cannot fault the place, the staff are great, the food is great and the atmosphere is even better. Just can’t wait to be back!

We visit this little gem every time we are in Stanley and will be back again! I personally love the homemade specials and pies. If you have a sweet tooth or like a treat they have plenty of sweet choices so it's nice to have a little treat. The girls that have served us always have a smile on their face which makes it an enjoyable experience.

Amazing cakes best in the north east... only topped by the friendliness of the staff. A must visit if you are in the area.

We go all the time. Definitely recommend. Toastie/paninis are great, homemade cakes are amazing and we ordered some pies for Xmas which were gorgeous.

Ordered 2 afternoon teas for Christmas Eve for collection, lovely friendly staff & the food didn’t make it until the next day, very very tasty & great selection.

Super friendly staff. All the cakes an pastries look and taste great and I love the quiche. Most importantly though, as the title says, the best coffee in Stanley.

I've visited this cafe a few times now and have not been disappointed. They sell a variety of cakes, breads and icecream as well as toastie and paninies. The covid measures are being adheared too so all good. Can't fault and would highly recommend.

A lovely friendly cafe, full of regulars and dogs welcome. A homely environment. A good menu with specials breakfast deals, e.g. bacon or sausage sandwich with Americano/tea and £3 selected cake and coffee deal. Selection of pies, quiches, panini etc. Very pleasant staff.

A great little out of the way place in Stanley last visit was a few weeks back and as always the food was delightful. Everything always looks so delicious. The place itself is clean and tidy throughout and the staff are exemplary. The prices are fair and servings ample. Nice place to stop for a cup of tea though the place is a bit small.

I came across this oasis of a place quite by accident. Had a fab soya latte and scrummy key lime pie slice. Above the quality of the food that is excellent value for money were the exceptional staff who are clearly passionate about providing excellent customer service. Well done ladies. In the words of Arnie "i'll be back".

Coffee was alright, but the key lime pie was delicious!!! Nice atmosphere there too.

Absolutely amazing! Very cheap for good quality food! A large and by large I mean huge cappuccino for just £2.20! Also, they did a coffee and cake deal for just £3! Lunches looked very good too, quiches, toasties and paninis! Thoroughly enjoyed it and staff were lovely! I highly recommend you go here.

Cakes not covered on counter is reflected in their taste. Had the flapjack caramel shortbread and it tasted stale, however 2 other cakes purchased were fine. 3 cakes & 2 coffees for less than £10. Very small cafe, struggled to get in with travel system.
