Excellent menu, very reasonably priced. We had Caprese sandwich and beer battered fish sandwich. Both very nice both reasonably priced. Add in good beer and good surroundings, what more can you ask

We are not ones for going out very often as times are hard, but we came here a couple months back and it was incredible.... it's safe to say they have lived up to there standard, we came back to try the Sunday Lunch, my wife had beef perfectly cooked pink and like butter, I had the Pork, wow the crackling was super fluffy and crispy juicy!!! Amazing selection of vegetables and the crispy but fluffy roasties were to die for, Thank you for yet another Fantastic experience Staff and food was 10/10

We appreciate we booked a 3:30 sitting however…. Service, awful! Food, mediocre at best! Atmosphere, loud! Firstly, we were welcomed to our seats however the helpful service stopped there. No check backs, no service with a smile and no offer of sauces and water was forgotten. Secondly, crispy crackling was non existent (see photo attached). Super sad looking roasted veg (in summer) paired wrongly with over roasted potatoes. Lastly, service! We can accept these people have had a long Sunday service however service with a smile costs nothing, unlike our £100 bill. At this point you’ll be thinking why was it so loud…. Well it was loud because the screaming chef could be heard from the dining room over all of their customers. Our sad experience was topped off by the unprepared popularity of the banoffee cheesecake we didn’t receive. Co op for dessert it was. I’ve had worse but I wouldn’t recommend.

It was a rainy summer day in Barnard Castle so were happy to be able to dry off and grab a bite to eat here. We ordered fish finger ciabatta and chicken goujons. Both were enjoyable, the batter on the fish was perfect. The salad was tasty. The staff were quick and efficient. The place was busy, even though the weather was terrible, so I think other people liked it too. Would be good to come back when weather better and enjoy the town a bit more.

I called into The Three Horseshoes on Monday 8 July 24 at 2:45pm. We only wanted a coffee and cake. I approached the waitress to be told you finish serving food at 3pm. I informed the waitress it was 2:45pm and we only wanted cake to be told you can have one only! Hence to say we didn't stay.
