Food really nice. I had the hot shot parmo with extra fresh chilli. Wife had the Pepperoni parmo.

It all Tasted fantastic, The staff were lovely, Only thing I didn't like the football was on, But it didn't actually bother me.

Food was excellent, the menu was huge, so spoilt for choice. The ladies serving were friendly and pleasant too. The portions were very generous and everything we had was delicious!

What a friendly pub The black horse inn is ,a great place for families, the food was FANTASTIC i have never seen a mixed grill as large ,the whole family really enjoyed our meal definitely 10 out of 10 i would highly recommend paying The Black Horse Inn a visit.

I cannot fault the place, ticked all the right boxes for quality food, atmosphere and comfort. L was with a party of 7and there is always one meal that looks like a let down, but not here! All really good, too much to eat so l brought what l left home and finished it the next day so made it a really economical night, try it! It won't disapoint.

I had a the garlic mushroom chicken parmo and homemade chips it was absolutely gorgeous and a massive portion. It defeated me but wished I could finish it as I enjoyed it soooo much. My friend had stwak baguette and was just as impressed. Service was great too. Highly recommend!

We stayed in the corner rooms ,didnt go in the pub. Rooms decorated nicely everything you need is in the rooms ,beds very comfortable and very clean. Free parking with lots of space with is always a bonus. Was kept awake at night by other rooms Turing their bathroom light on as the extractor fans are loud. Curtains are slightly too small for the window . We had a family room 2x double beds. £120

Booked in for Sunday lunch, it was the beat Sunday lunch we have all had in a while. Huge portions, fresh delicious food. Amazing for the price too, staff were also lovely. Great atmosphere would definitely recommend to anyone. We will be back 😊

Very good 1 night stay. We traveled up from South Yorkshire to see friends in spennymoor and stayed over. The rooms are very good. A touch on the small side but perfect for a short stay. They are new and you can tell as the bathroom fittings large tv and decor is all up to date. The bed is very comfortable, with very good bedding. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. Very reasonable for the quality. The bar is also good. It has a large tv and 2 more showing sport. It was quite busy as it was a Saturday night, all the locals seemed friendly and the is a good safe atmosphere. Will use again when we are up this way.

Sunday lunch was excellent, will certainly use again

This is a busy pub with friendly staff and good food. The accommodation, although very clean, is not great. Paper thin walls, you can hear the shower door clanging shut next door, the shower motor, people walking around etc. We were woken up really early.

Arrived and found the pub had been booked out for a birthday celebration. But the staff accommodated us because we were eating in the beer garden. Food was very good, and didn't take long to arrive - staff very helpful and friendly

Stayed at The Corner Rooms. Very nice rooms, friendly pub downstairs. No food service when we stayed so ate elsewhere nearby.

We arrived after we had booked in a few days earlier and they asked for the name on the reservation and we told them then it took them five minutes to get us sat down because they didn’t even book us a table in after they finally sat us down it took them five more minutes to ask what drinks we wanted and i asked for coke and they shouted from the bar after five more minutes “sorry ill be back in a few minutes i have to swap the tank over “ so after that i got my drink in another 5 minutes i had a drink of it and it was flat and didn’t even taste of coke my nana then told one of the staff who was very rude to me and my nana and she said okay and took my glass away as she rolled her eyes she walked away brought back a new coke which continued to be dlat I didn’t complain this time because it wasnt worth my time after that incident it took 10 more minutes to ask what we wanted to eat we both got the sunday lunch it came and it was disgusting the yorkshire pudding was hard and dry the chicken was also very dry and bland the stuffing tasted mushy the sweed was not mashed properly and the worst was the mash it was frozen from a bag it was absolutely appalling the staff couldn’t careless about the guests or anything please save yourself and dont come here it is also quite loud and really cramped there is barely room to move around Dont go

Came for lunch with my sister no one in restaurant eating or serving rang the bell twice still no one appeared heard such good reviews of the place but unfortunately we ended walking out and went elsewhere

First time for sunday lunch very good sized portions lovely gravy and mash great muchy peas plenty of veg a bit over cooked for me but that's personal choice. Service was first rate. Wine was very good and all excellent value

Just been for Sunday lunch and oh my how delish it was! Lamb perfect Yorkies perfect Gravy perfect Veg selection perfect (I know people love it but no cauli cheese here thankfully) Pista resistance choppy mint salad made my day!! Only downside for me is they stop serving at 3 and normally I don't finish work till then so would be there every week Thankyou will most definitely return on a rare Sunday off but of course if you change till 4 finish every week 😁😁😁

Stayed for the first time. Fantastic, comfortable and very clean room. If you get chance to eat in the pub give it a try as it is very good. Hosts are fab.

We had to waste an hour and a half so being lunchtime we ventured off our route and found this pub and inn. The atmosphere was calm, the member of staff was smiling and the food was homemade, tasty and well presented. Do I have to say more?

Disappointed with Christmas Day Lunch Stated on menu - A glass of Prosecco on arrival - we were lucky if there was 2 inches in the glass! The place was beautifully decorated, good service & friendly staff. The starters were superb x 4 Main - Never seen turkey served on a dinner like it - not sliced - all in bits on top of sloppy, greasy mashed potato. A few roast potatoes but no flavour - not seasoned. Very hard carrot battons - hardly cooked Sprouts - overcooked & soft 2 small bits of broccoli Cauliflower- all veg was bland no flavour 1 small Yorkshire pudding - actually was the best bit ! No roasted parsnip No turnip No peas Nothing special or flavourful at all like a Christmas dinner normally is! Desserts x 2 were really lovely, however the cheeseboards x 2 - served on small tea plates were awful - a few thin slices of sweaty cheese, sour grapes, a couple of cheap crackers, thin, lank celery sticks, no butter, no chutney & no knife. All in all a poor show! Over £300 for 4 people inc a bottle of wine & 4 pints

Absolutely loved our Christmas Dinner here in 2019. Not very good today. Lovely meal and very pleasant service

I called in whilst waiting for my car to get MOTd, it was lunch time around ten customers present mostly drinking. The pub has a modern interior with a traditional appearance. A few local girls were eating food at a table just past the bar, they seemed to be local, so must know the standard of food being served. The bar man was friendly and quick to serve me..

Wow we have lived in Spennymoor for 18 years and never been but today we have had the best Sunday Lunch for a long time so good that we have booked again for next weekend. Lovely atmosphere and fabulous food we will definitely be regulars from now on

Walked in on a Sunday afternoon. Customers shouted insults at me and staff were nowhere to be seen. No drink for me... What an unfriendly establishment.

Having failed to book anything in the centre of Durham on Friday night, we looked further afield for sustenance. A short seven miles away, we discovered the Black Hose Inn at Tudhoe and made our way there. Serving staff were a bit on the short side (i.e. there weren't that many of them on duty, not that they were height-challenged), but we were soon served with drinks (the John Smiths ale of which I've not been much of a fan in the past, was surprisingly good), and food was ordered. While my son's pizza was probably more cheese-loaded than it needed to be, I certainly enjoyed my steak pie filled with moist, tender meat slathered in gravy. Desserts were also eaten with gusto.

Nice pub. Plenty parking space.. The pub was clean. The staff friendly and helpful. My negatives was the quality of the food. We both had battered fish with chips and peas We both left most of the meal. I would describe it as moderate. Which is a shame. We might have just called in on the wrong day

Beautiful pub with an amazing view in the garden. The menu for during the week is to die for. However the Sunday roast I would give a strong pass. Roast potatoes hard as hell Yorkshire pud didn't taste right and the parsnips were like eating wood. However loved loved the cauliflower cheese.

I would not recommend this place.! I started off with a plate of chicken strips and when they came I was very disappointed. Some where burnt, chewy and tough. For my main I had a beef burger with chips and onion rings. When the food came out my onion rings where extremely greasy! The burger and onion rings where cold when they arrived And very unpleasant To eat. My burger looked like a hockey puck!, also the chips where kinda decent but some where burnt and soggy. For my last meal I had a brownie with 1 scoop and a half of cheap ice cream with bitter chocolate sauce. The only good thing I had was the glass of Pepsi and Carlin. Very disappointed! Would not recommend.

Enjoyed tea with friends and had the recommended steak pie. It was delicious, served with perfect chips, peas and gorgeous gravy. Friends enjoyed their choices too. Served by a pleasant young lady called Amber who was so helpful and friendly. Covid precautions in place. Highly recommended. Please don't stop serving your pie as we will be back.!

Found this pub to break our journey up from Newcastle to London. Very friendly staff only didn’t give 5 stars because cask ale was off. We ordered starters and mains. Just as well they forgot the starters because the mains were huge. We thoroughly enjoyed...
