Service slow, staff not very pleasant. Won't be going back.

Lovely cafe with friendly staff and a good choice of reasonably priced menu items

Cheap, but not Cheerful. First time visit as a local to Seaham, ordered a bacon and egg breakfast brioche and a sausage brioche. Both were nice and good value for money. However, the server was rude, no hello as we approached the till, so we stated our order. Asked if they sell iced coffee and she just shook her head, despite multiple google review pictures showing iced coffees here. Asked for an orange juice instead, didn’t have any. Would expect better stock for a weekend.

Had a delicious bacon butty & good cup of tea. Not my first visit. Definitely recommend it.

Hungry after an early start on the beach I googled options for breakfast and found The Pancake Kitchen which ticked all our boxes! We were lucky with the weather so had a sunny walk down the hill in to the harbour and located it tucked between a few small shops. In no rush (as we were on a special trip) we took our time debating our choices and ordered 2 lots of pancakes and a poached eggs, cant fault the staff working here we were served with a smile and our food was delicious and the added bonus of a really good cup of coffee!!

Visited this on a quiet Monday afternoon. There were no customers in the establishment at all when we visited around 3.45pm. (They were still serving food when the other little cafes weren't at this point) Absolutely stunning location with dining inside and outside. The view from outside is beautiful of the marina, and it would be gorgeous to visit on a warm summer day. The staff in the venue were extremely friendly and polite and welcoming (so would definitely return based on that alone). Ordered a cheese and ham toastie and a breakfast bun, which wasn't too bad

Fabulous place to look out on the harbour. Delicious food fairly priced. Staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. Another big plus for me is that it is dog friendly inside and out 🐶🐕 Thank you

The sausage bun and bacon bun were lovely the pancakes on the other hand were undercooked and that was very disappointing as we went for the pancakes and it's meant to be what they are good at it was busy but that is no excuse

Came here with the in-laws for pancake day treat.we waited 45 mins and the girl serving us could not have cared less.No sorry for your wait nothing.Absolutely shocking service won't be back The man who used to run the place was lovely so I am assuming he's gone now.What a disappointment...

I don't tend to leave negative reviews however I felt I had to mention my terrible customer service experience this Wednesday morning. This morning I stood at the counter for 10 mins waiting to be served and eventually left The Pancake Kitchen as could no longer tolerate the ignorance and rude treatment from the staff. It wasn't very busy this Wednesday morning, the four people sat inside and two people sat outside had already been served. Whilst I waited patiently at the counter to place my order the two female staff members stood at the back chatting about their children's homework. One staff member looked at me three times during my long wait and didn't have the decency to even acknowledge that I was waiting or apologise that I hadn't been served and simply continued to gossip. They did actually stop talking for a moment when their McDonalds breakfast delivery arrived and the delivery driver stood next to me. To my absolute amazement I was still not acknowledged. I wasn't even wearing my Harry Potter invisibility cloke this morning and being 6ft 2 you can't really miss me. The absolute ignorance shown and total lack of customer service was astounding to be honest.

Oooh so good and really good price too. We had sweet and savoury and they were huge! Staff were lovely too!

Belgian waffles were great lots of fresh fruit, the rest of the group enjoyed the pancakes and coffee. would happily visit again.

The waffles are very decadent and delicous. Ordered a bacon and egg sandwhich, which was on a brioche bun and was probably one of the best I have had. The hot chocolate is pretty decent. The staff are very friendly and quick at making the food. The prices seem reasonable.

Just had a take away pancake breakfast, when I opened the box I found the pancake burnt the bacon and scrambled eggs was fine....☹️☹️

My wife and I had two of the best pancakes ever at this eatery. It was an absolutely gorgeous day, and so nice to sit outside this place, taking in the scenery and enjoying a perfectly made pancake. Definitely worth a visit if you are down by the harbour.

well we made a special trip out to grab lunch here as they advertised Gluten free pancakes on their site. However when we got there we waited for about 6 minutes for the two girls working there to notice us. When they were done chatting and filling their faces and finally acknowledged our presence we asked about the Gluten free options we were told... we've run out. Must have been a sudden pre-lunch rush of coeliacs. Well we left, won't be bothering to return to try again. I'd add a photo but I ran out.

Warm welcome. Lots of visitors, so service was a bit slow, but a worthwhile experience. We had Ham broth with a bun and lots of butter! Delicious and well worth the £4.50 we were charged. Other people were having pancakes and they all looked delicious. It was a cold day, so sitting outside (necessitated by COVID!) was chilly, but good to see so many people in Seaham, trying to enjoy themselves! Thoroughly recommended.

We were there this morning, 3 Nov 19. We had 3 lovely (home made) scomes, jam, cream and coffee/hot chocolate. Lovely large portions, coffe was lovely. Cannot fault the service, even dogs are allowed in the cafe, ours was give two biscuits.

Visited with my daughter and my dog. We were made to feel very welcome, we had a sweet and savory pancake which were absolutely delicious. The owner even came round and gave my dog a biscuit. Would definitely visit again.

The Pancake Kitchen offers a good selection process f sweet and savoury pancakes, omelletes, breakfast items, scones, soup and sweet treats. I visit here quite often after a stroll along Seaham beach or a spot of shopping in the town. Some times with my grandchildren and at others with my dog who is welcome inside. The friendly staff always ask if Buddy is allowed a treat before they give him his dog biscuit. Winter months it's great to warm up inside but it's not open Mondays or Tuesdays.

It was good but nothing amazing. The food tasted good although was not a filling breakfast. The place was small and had no toilet. I also didn't like that they allowed dogs barking inside. On the plus side the staff were friendly and where attentive.

We’ve visited here quite a few times now and every time is great the pancakes are delicious and so are the waffles, I’ve tried the soup and saveloy dips and they are delightful and tasty too, the place itself is very clean the staff are pleasant and friendly and it’s dog friendly too which is fantastic as we have a cocker spaniel who we like to take out with us ..... fab 5 stars x

A place with a great view and is pet friendly. The staff are friendly. A must when in Seham. There is free parking and a small beach near the complex.

Loved it .. quaint little place on the marina and great for food intolerant such as gluten etc as had forest of the fruits pancake!! You can get savory pancakes sweet pancakes and waffles and also cake!

We go here every Sunday morning when the sun is shining we take our two small grandchildren, the service is excellent lovely and clean and lovely staff, the waffles and pancakes are excellent and loads of choices of fillings well worth a visit.

I love introducing friends to The Pancake Kitchen either for pancakes or just coffee and cake. They serve the best coffee in Seaham, the staff are always friendly and the fact you can take your dog in is a bonus. Scones are to die for, no WW allowed in there.

Walked into empty cafe at 9.30am and ordered 3 coffees. Asked if scones were freshly made and assured that they were. Ordered 3 cheese scones. Coffee was brought and then told there was only 1 cheese scone. No one makes a fresh batch of 1 scone. Obviously made day before. Took so long to bring scones that one of us had finished coffee by the time they came. Definitely yesterday's scones. WILL NOT BE RETURNING!

Me and my family went there because we fancy something sweet and that place was the place to be:) excellent customer service, lots of choice of pancakes and waffles, generous portions and family and dog friendly place. Will definitely come back for more!

Hubby and me discovered this little gem of a place on Pancake day and we were so impressed we went back 5 days later!!!I had the classic maple syrup pancake which comes with chocolate and vanilla icecream on both visits.We also had cappuccinos which are the nicest coffees in Seaham..we have tried them all..and hubby had the bacon muffin.Delicious food served by the man who works there who is really friendly and chatty.We will certainly be returning when Ive walked some of the calories off!!!

Small but avery nice place for a delicious treat, clean and comfortable, very friendly staff, dogs are welcome too understandably with a few conditions like keeping them under control.

Came here today for pancake day with hubby and granddaughter.Had classic maple syrup pancake which came with chocolate and vanilla ice cream.was totally delicious.We had two large cappuccinos and we are coffee conisseurs and they were spot on.Man who served us was very friendly will deffo be back!!

This is a great pancake house in the harbour development at Seaham, there is a good selection of pancakes, both sweet and savoury, and as they are made to order, it’s possible to customise to preference. It was a bit chilly today so we sat inside, but usually it’s nice to sit outside and watch the harbour activity. It is a short but steep walk down to the harbour development, but there is access for cars and plenty of free parking beside the sandy beach.

Delicious pancakes, we only had savoury ones, as the Chaos Brothers had already decided they wanted ice cream from the shop next door. Staff happy to adapt and leave out or change fillings. I had bacon and maple syrup, boy#2 had the same with cheese, boy#1 had scrambled egg and smoked salmon. All served with a good side salad dressed with balsamic glaze.

Been wanting to visit for a long time but was worth the wait. Decent variety of pancakes, waffles and fillings. Ideal for an early morning kick start, still suffering with a sugar rush.

Beautiful pancakes ! Lovely dog friendly place. Only small gripe is their large coffees are like a small. Other than that highly recommended!

Great place for a coffee after a walk along the beach

Had a muffin and a coffee here recently and found it really canny. Will be back sometime soon and will try one of the signature pancakes next time, they look really nice. It is a small premises though and can't be anything else, so awkward with buggies etc but can't be helped. There's seating outside so good for summer visits.

As usual, the food and service were excellent. Nice place, lovely food (the All day breakfast was gorgeous), do I need to say more.

We sat outside the front of the cafe eating our pancakes and sharing them with Millie our dog, very sunny day and was great looking out into the harbour on such a beutiful day the pancakes were great and the staff were very friendly to our dog with water and treats.

Called in while on a day out on the coast. We noticed a small flier by the beach so gave it a try. Not the easiest place to find, need to read the small print on the harbour notice board.

Pancakes don’t float my boat but my son thoroughly enjoyed the gluten free bannoffee pancakes. It’s always good to support somewhere that considers those of us with special dietary requirements! And the marina is a nice spot to sit as you tuck in!

We came here on a recommendation. I must say how impressed we were with the greeting and friendliness of the establishment. "Customer first" is obviously the doctrine here. OK so you are paying over the odds for a bit of batter, ice-cream and sauce but the sun was shining and the surroundings perfect. Seating areas are inside and outside so take your pick. Dog friendly and demonstrated this by handing out treats to each dog who wanted one (none declined). Well done to TPK, you made our visit perfect. Good luck in your venture.

Great little place down by the marina. I was here with my husband for lunch yesterday. The service was warm and very friendly and the food is freshly prepared to order. I ordered the waffles because I love them and I was not disappointed. They were crisp and fluffy and the scrambled eggs I had with them were perfect. I honestly can't wait to come back.

We go to Seaham on a Wednesday after being to Durham (From Consett) and wouldn't miss having lunch at the Pancake Kitchen, excellent food, very friendly staff and soft me a big big plus they are dog friendly. Keep up the good service you deserve to do well. Thankyou

A treat we try to give ourselves a couple of times a month. Well worth a visit.

Nice little eatery specialising in pancakes and belgian waffles. Sweet and savoury on offer. The waffles are enormous. I had Dutch apple which was delicious. My only quibble would be the squirty cream which makes it very sweet - either just more of the lovely vanilla ice cream or fresh cream would have been better. But it was still delicious. The coffee was excellent, creamy and no bitterness.

Went here with my siblings for breakfast which is served with a pancake and then Nutella pancake for afters... absolutely beautiful food and dog friendly will definitely go back

Light lunch today, very tasty omelettes , decent sized pot of tea, the blankets on the seats are a great touch, as although it was very sunny today there was a fresh onshore breeze.

Visited this little cafe on the marina just before the snow came. Very friendly staff serve a great range of pancakes, scones, breakfasts and coffees. Although quite small inside their is further seating outside with views of the boats in the marina. Dogs are welcome, so it's a great location if your exercising on the beach or visiting "Tommy".

Lovely place with nice food. Small place; only about 10 tables inside so during the summer I can imagine people cannot get seated but food is served quickly so turnover should be high. Staff very friendly. Have seen well behaved dogs allowed in.

Enjoyed our visit here on a blustery Sunday morning . There are a lot of regular places we visit but our two 8 year olds wanted to visit here .

Called in on a cold December Sunday morning. It is quite a small seating area, and it was busy, but we managed to get a table as someone was just leaving. I enjoyed my Dutch Apple Pancake, nice chunks of apple, lovely taste. They had a special on that morning, for an extra £1.00, you could have a slice of chocolate cake. Additional seating outside, which on a warmer day would have been lovely to sit out, although blankets are provided. As other reviews have said, The Pancake Kitchen is child and dog friendly.

I've been here a few times now, It is only a small cafe on the edge of Seaham Dock, but each time the service has been good and the Pancakes or Waffles have been excellent. This morning it was the "New Yorker" (Big bits of Bacon, loads of cheese in a pancake smothered with Maple Syrup), absolutely gorgeous.
