3rd time we have been in whilst staying at the camp site ,each time it has had local people who are really friendly ,the two female bar staff that have been on duty were so friendly and pleasant as well as being professional .The bar and toilets are immaculate .You can go to the chipshop and bring your food in ,fantastic idea .We will be back next weekend away at Barnard Castle .

Great Bar in town, brilliant karaoke and the quiz is great. To. The owner is always getting new beers in. A really friendly atmosphere. It has a pool table and beer garden out the back !

I stayed here with my partner for a wedding. I got here around midday and fro that point onward everything was fantastic. All of the staff here were so friendly and accommodating, even arranging taxis for us and then keep an eye on them to arrive while we had a beer. We got back around midnight and had a chat with the owner, who again was really friendly. The room was super clean, fresh and cosy. The bed was big and the sheets were really crisp! If you’re ever in Barnard Castle I highly recommend you stay here, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a literal stones throw away from everything, so you can go for a mooch the next day and get a decent brew and cake before heading home! Thank you everyone at Cricketers Arms, you made a great day perfect!

Great pub in middle of barnard castle with good value rooms to stay in

A lively pub with a hardworking team behind the bar. Live music and karaoke on a couple of the nights during our stay, though it didn't intrude too much into our room. Good location in the town with easy, free parking nearby. Will certainly stay here again.

A few drinks with friends & our Parson Russell, Stanley, Very nice Bar Lady,Host,Very nice Beer, will be back when in Barnard Castle

Doesn't sell food but the drinks and the service are great. Have a cosy beer garden and dog friendly.

Great friendly pub for both young and old. Staff really friendly and helpful. One of the cheapest places in town and in a good location. Busy pub with all the sports on and karaoke every Saturday night. Live music on also, just watch for the advertising .

A quiet local pub. We called in for a pint whilst out exploring thel local area. Dogs are welcome and our two were very welcomed in. Very clean, with friendly staff. We had a pint of Wainwright and half a neck oil. Both were really good. Recommended if you're passing by . We did not get food or stay in rooms so cannot comment on those .

Rooms clean alll good No issue. Really noisy even after 10pm you can hear that people screaming on karaoke in you room when trying to fall asleep

Visited this pub for a few pints and a general relax,I found the beer very good and reasonably priced. The staff appeared to be on the ball with regards to social distancing turning groups away at the door. Its certainly a pub used by locals and in my case they made me very welcome.

We are here now and the room is beautiful lovely and clean and very comfortable bed the staff are lovely and friendly very helpful would definitely stay here again

Great pub, sky tv, if i lived in Barney this would deffo be my local. All social distancing laid out, cleaning done regular, good choice of beers. Food back on soon I believe so can't rate it for that. Great lovely pub.

Went in our first night of holiday to check out booking for Sunday lunch.unfortunately the chef had burnt his foot and they weren't do meals ended up staying for a drink great pub with friendly locals

We were a bit early at arrival and the pub door was shut. On ringing the bell the welcoming landlord soon came to the door to let us in. Our room very clean and comfortable, bit small but fine for our one night stay. Unfortunately the chef’s nights off are Monday and Tuesday so we couldn’t eat there in the evening. We did have a nice drink though talking to some of the locals. Very pleasant. It seemed a bit odd leaving in the morning before the pub opened as you leave through the back door, down the fire escape and through the garage to the street. Some people might not like it but it was not a problem to us.

Initially called in due to sun trap out the back and ended up back the next day. Friendly welcome, clean, cheap drinks and worth a visit. Will call again when staying in barnard castle

Meal here was lovely and staff very friendly prices are great as well..... Bottle of wine just over £7

We had Sunday lunch here when we were on holiday and not sure were to eat.The roast was excellent with all the trimmings and extra gravy, the desert are good also.

Superb Sunday lunch here with huge slices of the very best roast beef and all the trimmings. Excellent friendly service too.
