Lovely staff and banging food. Had fish and chips - very delicious and value for money. The wife had a very generous serving of salmon. Not many better places to get scran in South Tyneside. I just wish we lived closer.

A pesar de lo ocupados que estaban no tuvimos que esperar mucho para pedir (se pide en el bar) y la comida se entregó bastante rápido. Disfrutamos del filete de gammon, hamburguesa wagyu y ternera cocinada lentamente. Todo bien presentado y sabroso. Muy razonable precio también. Esperamos volver cuando llegue la próxima vez en la zona.

Fantastic pub . For Saturday night out have great bands on can get busy good atmosphere my go to place on Saturday night. Spirit drinks little pricey but then it is in town center area

Disappointing visit for lunch, used ro go here alot a few years ago and always thought it was nice, something a little more special than your average coffee shop. Gone down in my estimations. Luke warm cappuccino, the free water in the dispenser looked as though it had been there for a few weeks with very little left in (clearly hadn't been cleaned and topped up with fresh water this morning) we opted for toasties, tuna was very 'fishy' bread quality poor and a sad little side salad. At the price of nearly a tenner for 1 toastie, I expected better. Overall quite grubby, dusty and lacked a good clean.

Amazing food, wonderful service, great atmosphere, a real wonderful experience. 5 tapas dishes for £30 and the portions are huge! Will definitely return and recommend a visit to anyone.

New owners have changed this pub for the better! No longer dead on weekends. Class vibe, let’s bring shields back the way it used to be

Then check out this amazing place for a private party for Christmas with a twist. Booked for 15 for a family Christmas get together, what can I say .. fabulous night, food was exceptional, drinks were something else.. (got to give the gin and vodka teapots a go), also the cocktails and mocktails for the kids.…fabulous. Staff had permanent smiles and nothing was too much trouble for them. Beautiful surroundings. Would not hesitate to recommend this little gem 100% Thank you Jane and the girls for a truly wonderful night.

Amazing food. I had the Chinese Chicken and my partner had the Lasagne. £17 was great value..Large portions, lovely Chunky chips...piping hot. Well recommended!!

Staff are lovely and helpful Food is wonderful. If the lentil soup hasn’t won an award it should have and the dumplings in it were so light they almost floated out of the bowl Cannot recommend the place highly enough

Used to be such a nice place now full of underage drinkers who sneak in, however still can be a decent place for food and the atmosphere.

Ordered my regular that I order in every cafe Nero the (pistachio & Carmel syrup bottle was nearly finished the girl) the girls tried to put ghost syrup in tasted it and said to her have u pumped any syrup because can’t taste anything she got very defensive and was like if you want more syrup you’re going to have to pay for it (which I did) the point was it’s my regular order and everytime I can taste the syrup this time coz she pumped from a bottle which has hardly anything in it she was very rude about it

Excellent food. Get there early to be seated when open. Truly great all around! Came back again this year. Kudos to the chef and pur waiter. The food was amazing and our waiter was just awesome. We will be back next year for sure. Save us our table!
