Clover & Wolf in South Tyneside

The place itself was a bit rundown upstairs, toilets were awful, slippy and hand drier didn't work. Could do with a bit money spent. We were here with our cheese cart as it was a present for my sisters wedding. Pity the bailiff came the same night and locked the gates. Had a nightmare getting our stuff out. Shame really as we had a great time up and downstairs

I drove from Gateshead to watch the breakfast club. The bar was packed and a great atmosphere, the place was jumping but in a safe way. Despite being really busy managed to get served OK. If I lived in south shields this would be one of favourite bars

Visited venue to see the cabeytu brothers. Atmosphere was electric service at bar was good and quite quick. Room large and plenty comfortable seating. The only negative the room was very cold

Very friendly staff and patrons, I had John Smiths pints, excellent quality and very reasonably priced, not sure if they serve food, a good place to visit for a drink would recommend anyone to give it a try.

Always served promptly. We love this place during the day, it has a nice relaxing atmosphere. At weekends it gets louder with the bands on, but atmosphere is still great👍

Just a canny pub with nice staff. Regulars are very friendly as well.

I went in to book the function room for a small mendi party as this place was recommended. The lady at the bar was very lovely and gave all the information needed and was ready to take the booking. However, a man heard about the small medni party and said straight no they don't take any booking of such sort. He didn't give any reason just said no. I also enquired on their FB page and was ignored. Overall from this experience I felt discriminated due to being from an Asian background. As he could have responded to the fb enquiry but chose to ignore and he could have given a reason instead of just saying no. Defo would see this place to be racist maybe. If they're not then applause but defo gave an impression.

Great bands great night out helpfully staff

Went for my partners birthday on 28 December 22. Three people in = rubbish atmosphere; but that's fair enough, you cant expect everywhere to be busy (even though other bars were rocking that night). And apparently they don't do cocktails (?), when all I was asking for was tequila and lemonade. The barman's attitude made me feel like I was an irritation when I was just trying to have a nice evening.

No this is a little hidden gem reasonably priced good selection of bottled and draught alcoholic beverages,very clean excellent music,frequented by very entertaining locals,but the best attribute was the excellent friendliness the staff showed especially as we arrived with a very tired grumpy dachshund. It is in between two other public houses so may get overlooked but trust us you won’t be disappointed a credit to the owner/managers🍻🍻🍻🍻

First time in here for a good while and it's a really nice place, the function room is a great place for a party spacious with a large dance floor. The Manager Steph and Tim are lovely and the staff looked after me, thank you. Prices are reasonable, well worth a visit, or a booking for a party. Central location next to South Shields Metro and bus links.

We have been going to the Clover and Wolf for a few months now and found everything outstanding from the friendliness of the staff, especially the lovely Vicky, and Ian the chef, not to mention the fantastic food. However for whatever reason they decided to change the way of getting served. You now have to go the bar, order and pay for your drink and meal, the take your drinks back to the table and join the queue for food. This would be fine if it didn't result in waiting in two queues and then hoping the people before you in the queue, don't take too long getting their pots and veg, while your meat is getting cold. It also puts pressure on the two young girls serving the vegetables. I mentioned to the one of the bar staff that I didn't like the new system, and she quite bluntly told me, well it's a better system. To which I replied that it might be for the staff but not the customers, at which she got herself in a bit of a mood. I also later heard her swearing in the kitchen (not necessary). I hope the Clover and go back to the way they were doing things before or sadly we will have to go elsewhere.

Had a lovely Sunday dinner here, food was lovely and hot,with loads of lovely meat accompanied with homemade gravey and Yorkshire puddings. Will definitely be back to sample more of their gorgeous food.

Wine to watch a band. Sound was good, beer was nice and the bar is new and the staff were nice. If you visit South Shields, I recommend a visit.

Not sure why but this bar struggles to get customers unless it's sunny and warm for people to sit in the beer garden. This venue has a great function room upstairs and with the addition of a lift it gives access to those that have walking difficulties. The bar area is really nice too and they now have early hours drink promotions.
