Received iced latte not regular hot latte

Usually have a good experience, but this time the whipped cream wasn't correct and unfortunately as someone who suffers with IBS any plant based dairy alternatives make me extremely unwell. I had not realised this was possibly the light whip on top of my drink after having an IBS flare up triggered. Please double check orders & don't just use whatever is on hand thinking it is fine to substitute as it is not always ok (or healthy) to do that. Other than that my drink & meal was lovely

Oh my days! ❤️ That was seriously the most delicious drink I think I've ever had! (Mango bubbly thing..) My daughter loved the white hot chocolate too 🙂 I can totally warn you that we're going to be very regular customers, for sure

The drink tasted weird ( chemical taste) not like usual and the sandwich was dry and lacked in cheese and bacon! Was an emergency lunch as i couldn’t leave the house but totally not worth it- its too expensive to get away with serving such poor quality. The delivery was quick though - no problems there

Wrong items delivered so I couldn't eat or drink them. 2nd time this has happened. I'm sure the person who got my order will be very disappointed they didn't get what they ordered too

It's understandable with the weather and issue with drivers. I cannot fault the food it doesn't disappoint. Love it!! Thank you for the festive hot chocolate range After Eight is delicious!! Highly recommended.

Two items missing shop wasn’t helpful still awaiting a refund to be decided I was ordering for multiple people in our office so I’ve had to give them the money back out my own pocket untill I get a refund

Poor service, left standing waiting to order even though it wasn’t busy and was completely ignored. One staff member making drinks very slowly and the other mopping the floor. Both could see I was waiting for over 5 minutes, neither were bothered. Ended up leaving in the end.

Just had the Christmas late and mince pie. Absolutely gorgeous, will be having this again and nice and clean Costa.

Nacho chilli cheese and chicken toasties, and pizza wrap were absolutely lovely!!! Coffee delivered HOT as well!!! Would highly recommend:)

Usual great coffee from the chain outlet. Situated upstairs in Next store.

Most of the staff are pleasant, one in particular has no people skills she is very rude. Tgere is not enough staff to clear tables and serve as it is a busy cafe. I hate that some customers blame the staff when it is the company that won't employ more help.

Coffees nice as always from Costa but some of the staff are weird and it puts me off going in. Think one of them might have tourettes or something as just says random things when making your coffee.

Luckily I hadn’t gone to Costa Coffee as I wouldn’t have got served any! Instead I’d booked a ‘too good to go’ scheme which is being adopted by morrisons, greggs, Starbucks and other chains. For £3 at costa coffee basically it’s a lucky dip of close to sell buy date food and drink. You get an email and you basically pick up your bag and see what you get! My lucky dip had 3 sandwiches (value £4 each) in it. Bacon, ham and cheese, and cheese and tomato. Great value for £1 each, shame they had no coffee!!

I went with my daughter and ordered 2 hot chocolates. Mine with cream, took one sip the cream was off and it stunk. Couldn't get the taste out of my mouth.. The lady did replace but I wasn't impressed

The Staff are very welcoming and friendly service team too all the food and drinks are a very testy and the atmosphere is always very good there it is a lovely place to go for a catch up with friends and family

The staff here are amazing. Other reviews say they are rude and disinterested however I’ve found them great, very talkative and wish everyone a great day. I’ve never met staff who care about the customer enough

First visit since before lockdown. Fab service and wonderful, friendly staff.

I've only been twice to this Costa. I must give a mention to the lad running the premises. He was friendly & welcoming to every customer as they arrived. He ensured they had a cleaned table and safe area to sit. He worked tirelessly & efficiently, organising the staff whilst chatting and attending to new and seated customers. Unfortunately 2 women were displeased at being 'told' where to sit and complained. Not once did the lad lose his courteous, kind demeanour. I have worked in customer facing and sales industries. Its nice to see some places making sure customer service is their number 1 priority.

This was our first time out in 4 months. Felt very relaxed and safe. The gentleman on shift was ushering to the correct table after he cleaned and kept everyone safe and distanced In the queue. All in all made our experience an enjoyable one. 😷

An absolute ripoff . The hot chocolate was in a tiny glass and they charged us £7 for two of them. It wasnt even nice. We won't go back.

Service always fantastic. Massive problem is most of the seating area means you're sat with the sun shining directly in your face.

Mam loves a latte n cake today she had the chocolate cake with squirty cream and she loves it. I had sweetmince pie (warmed up ) with tea. Staff really friendly and helpful

Having placed my order and been told to sit down and it’ll be brought over By the most disinterested staff two lady’s who must have had minds elsewhere. I had to remind them after ten minutes of my coffee. When it was made and bought over 5 minutes later. Don’t mind a mistake or forgetfulness we all are human. But not a sorry , thank you. Nothing staff absolutely disgraceful. So rude

Noticing coffee is not as nice as it used to be, it was from good to not bad to not nice at all.

Shopping at Next, we called to Costa. I used the loo which was nice and clean. We chatted to Kirsty, your Barista, who was lovely. She described in detail, exactly what goes into a flat white coffee. I'm a 62yr old dinosaur so only drink Americano's. As promised, I enjoyed it. I'm now a convert! Kirsty was a great ambassador for your company. She's pleasant and knowledgeable and makes a damn nice cup of coffee!

We fancied a coffee from Costas after shopping so decided to use Costa coffee upstairs in NEXT. We both wanted cappuccinos and mine was ideal but my friend would have liked it a bit stronger. Unfortunately the person that served us was perhaps the most miserable person I’ve had the misfortune of being served by for a long time. Yes, anyhow can have a bad day but in a service industry, surely you should at least try. Won’t go back due to the service alone.

Stood in a queue of 3 people for 10 minutes. Drink was far too hot.

Fab little Costa upstairs in Next, South Shields. Wide selection of food and drinks, perfect for a sit down after treating yourself or a loved one in Next. Lovely, friendly staff. Always clean, chairs tucked away, tables tidied. Toilets are available too. Perfect cafe also if you want to study or read your book in. One of my favourite haunts in South Shields.

Great place to have a coffee and a chat

I had a latte which was lovely but my tart was dry and expensive for what it was. My daughter had a slice of sponge cake which she said was lovely so I think it was a poor choice from me. Good location when shopping.

Great place for good coffee. The usual Costa deals but the staff are always friendly and cheerful. Children are welcome and there is disabled access via the store lift.

Absolutely gorgeous coffee and hotchocolate. The best hotchocolate is round about Christmas time when they bring out the mint hotchocolate with a little candy cane

Apart from the ‘no cream’ I can’t fault Costa coffee which is on the first floor including the Next store that I love too. The attention and service was great as were the coffees, cappuccino, latte, and 2 carrot cakes (I was with a friend). Despite the awful weather it was quite full as it always seems to be, a good sign. It was warm and comfortable and we spent a good time chatting. There is parking outside and over the road but on weekends this gets very busy and buy a ticket as the over zealous car parking attendants love to swoop if you forget. There is a lift at the back of the store as the stairs are fairly steep for less ambled people.

I enjoy coming here for a Cortardo and a browse around the Next store. The Costa is upstairs in the Next store so you just have to have a walk around. The usual Costa goodies are on sale and the staff are pleasant.

Called in mid-afternoon for a coffee. The server was ridiculously stressed, there were trays and cups piled up on all of the tables, nothing had been wiped, the place looked filthy. Normally it's not like this but I was disgusted.

Great coffee shop on that side of town. Loads of parking spaces and upstairs to Next. couldn't want for more

I love costa and i'm so happy to finally have one in shields making it a lot easier to get my winter hotchocolate fix! I have visited here quite a few times now and despite the teething issues when it first opened, staff are now well trained and on the ball making fast work of all the orders in this bust little café. Get the mozzarella pest and tomato Panini, its the best.

I Visit this Costa at least once a week. A few months ago I was on crutches for a while & not able to get far, but this wasn't far from bus stop. so I was there most day's. The staff are all friendly & would carry my tray over to the table. The coffee shop is upstairs in the Next Store, which has a lift, so no worries about stairs. Its a nice place to meet your family & friends. Its always busy, but there's plenty seating. wheelchair & buggy friendly.
