At a wedding at the greyhound was very good

Was there for a christening, great service, efficient friendly staff, really couldn't fault it.

New to area this Ower new local and love it only been few times but love the atmosphere and the rest of the locals fantastic beer Garden and decking for sitting out in the sun

So I’ve recently had my 40th birthday in the greyhound inn function room and wow! What an amazing room! All of my guests absolutely loved it, the room is absolutely stunning and I would highly recommend it. It would be perfect for any occasion and even weddings. The staff here are brilliant, great communication and very friendly and understanding. I would definitely have another function here. Thank you to all the staff for making my birthday perfect. Absolute great price too.

Lovely venue. I was there for a baby shower so we were in a private part of the bar. The setup was lovely, the space was great and the area was well sectioned off but with easy access to the toilets and the food they provided was great. The toilets do need some TLC but so do most bars toilets. Shame it's not in my area

Quiz night - recently just changed venue. Great atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming pub. Staff very helpful. Great to see a pub full. Definitely recommend

Went to the Tuesday quiz and had a great night. They had a free buffet on which was very tasty. The bar staff are very friendly. It will be a regular night every eeek from now o n.

Great looking bar and function room, we booked it for a funeral. Nothing was an issue for Tony and the team !! we definitely recommend.

Attended a friends 70th birthday party here. Good hot and cold buffet. Great red wine by the bottle (Jack Rabbit Merlot). Staff friendly and helpful. Great celebration.

Attended the function room for a party. Great space for a party. Bar in the function room wasn't on but the main bar was just in an adjoining room. Lovely bar staff.

Had our Wedding Party at the Greyhound. A lovely venue. Katie the manager saved the day on numerous occasions...Perfect evening had by all.

Lovely place only thing they definitely need New chairs that go round the tables very wobbly but apart from that very nice pub

Just been in to the Greyhound and could not believe the difference in a pub. It used to be a clean and welcoming pub… now it is scruffy and smells of vomit. It seems overrun with young kids so much so they have 2 bouncers on the door … WHAT… ridiculous. Going downhill rapidly such a shame.

I visited this pub last night with my friends as wanted a local drink before we went home. The shelves were empty behind the bar and when my friend asked what red wine they had, the reply was ‘chardeney’ Then they rang the bell for last orders so we went for another quick drink to be told that they weren’t serving as it had been announced twice it was last orders, which it definitely was not! So after sitting just chatting we noticed a man being served at the bar ( a regular I assume) we went over and questioned this, to be told he’d pre ordered his drink!! What absolute rubbish!! The ladies toilets were disgusting! Only 1 out of the 3 toilet’s were in working order, the 1 working toilet had no toilet paper! The sink area was disgusting, mess and food everywhere ( from the party that was on ) I used to really like this pub but, not sure what’s happened to it, but went terribly down hill.

Having spent a few hours in Newcastle, on our way home, we stopped off at our local, The Greyhound, asked for a whisky and a red wine, to which the barman replied, we have neither, a bacardi? Again, none, nor do we have white wine, he says. Far too many times over recent months, has this pub allegedly ran out of stock, come on, your a pub. I love to support my local, but its like Russian roulette walking in, what do they have in stock this week. The pub up the road, The Prince, I have never had this issue. Do I change my watering hole or stick, I am seriously considering this. A disgruntled local.

Well priced Sunday lunch with plenty of choice on the meats and vegetables. Easy to get a seat, friendly service and tasty food.

Looked good, but didn't open until 12

Meat was nice, veg was good, gravy wasn’t thick enough for me, Yorkshire puddings were just ok. Was a little put off by the guy serving who kept wiping his nose on his sleeve. Table was lopsided which wasn’t ideal to eat on. It was ok and I’d give it another try.

We’ve just had my fathers wake at the greyhound pub. The manageress was really lovely and met all our needs whilst there. The staff were really helpful and the food provided was really nice. The place itself was lovely, lots of outdoor space and something for everyone. Great value for money and well worth a visit. I wouldn’t hesitate returning.

Would be a nice public house to have a drink ideal location BUT sorry the drug dealing and idiots that locate back room totally spoil the place. Management and bar staff know what is going on but choose to ignore it. Get it sorted or it will go down hill rapidly.

This Sunday 10/02/19 my wife and I tried the The Greyhound for the first time, the food was first class, the staff were very polite and professional, sadly the house and dance music was very loud, great for a night out but not on a Sunday lunch time, might try the Lakeside next Sunday

Walk in was greeted ask if i had a table book said no. Got told to sit anywhere found a table no sign saying reserved or anything then got told to move no excuse me just move how rude so I stood up and said well I did get told to sit anywhere so I moved. By this point my partner show up and I just didn't feel comfortable with how I was spoke too. First every visit we actually came as it our anniversary and got told it was lovely here and were considering talking to someone about there room for a wedding. But after the service I got today my partner suggested leaving and going to Mambo wine and dine which service was great and food lovely. Could learn something as first impression our important.

Tried the greyhound after a family reccomendation, meals and drinks are reasonable . Food is tasty and you get a choice of meats we had a slice of each , also includes pigs in blankets ( usually at a extra cost elsewhere we have been) .Yorkshire puddings and veg all nicely cooked. The staff are great and a nice atmosphere . Verry nice inside worth a visit if you are nearby.

I visit this place most weekends due to the great atmosphere and cheap drinks. There’s a big selection of drinks to choose from and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. They have recently started doing food which has been a welcome addition and I’ve always been very happy with what I’ve been served. Could not recommend enough!

I visit the greyhound on a regular basis and it is absolutely brilliant. The staff are brilliant and they never put a foot wrong. Great place. Would definitely recommend

Visit here regularly with friends and is a good place to go with them as the drinks are sold at a good price and only that is good drink too. Food is nice tried the pizzas a few times and never had anything bad to say about them. all the staff are friendly and easy to talk to a staff as well.

Popped in for a quick carvery and pint and lawdy am I glad I did. Fresh food with a wide selection of meats and veg everyday and no frozen scheisse! The staff are all very helpful and polite. Shed a tear when I was finished eating it was so nice.

Me and my wife called in for a carvery the other night and wised we just got a take away it was just awful. The meat was so dry and tough I thought if I put gravy on it would taste better, no. The Yorkshire pudding was hard as nails and the peas were bland and shrivelled and full of water, and the plates were cold that the food was put on. It was the worst meal I’ve EVER had and after the waitress came over and asked if everything was ok, I did complain but she didn’t seem to worry and I did get a refund but that doesn’t take away the fact we were still hungry. And I was sitting finishing my drink I watched another couple getting the same carvery of food after what I had complained about.

I visit the greyhound on a regular basis as it’s so close to where I live.

Come in here with wife and granddaughter for a carvery, the food was all fresh no frozen stuff like most places and very tasty would definitely recommend this place and would certainly go again.

Never had a bad night in the greyhound until last night !

we were in the beer garden all day couldnt get a baby seat for our 9month old as there were only 2 and the christening or wedding do needed 1 nd someone else using the other one ,had to queue for ages as not enough staff when we were sitting outside alot of kids and 4 adults from the do were playing football with the ball just missing everyones tables so we moved next to the bouncy castle so then they made goals right next to us between castle nd fence next to car park the next thing i knew the ball got kicked into my face smashing my glasses off my face so me nd my partner told them to move near where their familys are as it could have been our 9month old or our 7 year old that was hit so they moved back away but still kicked ball all over. i think the staff should at least supervise the rear garden as its a beer garden not a football pitch to think im actually thinking of having 2 christening and a engagement partys there in the next few months might reconsider if the staff nd supervising doesnt improve didnt even know where they got the hard football from

I’ve just visited here today with my girlfriend and even though it’s just around the corner it’s the first time we have been in.

My wife and I visited this venue for the first time for Sunday lunch, it is obviously a popular place as although it was quiet when we arrived at about 12.30 it very soon became very busy.
