Amazing food, wonderful service, great atmosphere, a real wonderful experience. 5 tapas dishes for £30 and the portions are huge! Will definitely return and recommend a visit to anyone.

Well what can i say... this place is EPIC!! Pizzas, tapas and cocktails. Mint!! I love the Kiev pizza.loads of garlic. its my fav. we only found this place just before christmads and have been every week since. the super ladies out front make the experience so much better, thank you Lesley, Sylvia and June. 19/02/2022 - we went to La Vina in Cleadon on a really busy sat night. When I say busy, it was fully booked. The atmosphere was buzzing and the food was excellent.Yes there was a small delay, but what do you expect when the place is full. Ive seen a couple of bad reviews on here for service - grow up! We waiting about an extra 10mins to usual wait times as it was busy. Its a good sign. Busy restaurant means good food.Tapas food was immense. a real change from the normal. Some Asian food was included. And the fact you can get a garlic bread in with a tapas special deal is really good.We are a regular visitor and live in the village. We love la vina and will 100% be back. We really enjoyed our night on Saturday.Thanks to Sylvia and the girls.Charlie & Ann

Before I go any further, this is not a tapas restaurant. So if you want authentic Spanish food, don't bother. It's side plates and pizza. I was reluctant to return here after being surrounded by flies the entire time during the first time we went on a cold January evening... We booked this restaurant for a family 70th birthday meal, so it was meant to be a special evening. It was a busy Saturday night and the restaurant was full, so you'd expect to see more than three waiters working. After 35 minutes of sitting down, we STILL hadn't been asked if we wanted any drinks so we had to get their attention to ask ourselves. We then requested to order food and were told, 'no you'll have to wait for two other tables to order before you'. 90 minutes later seven of the eight pizzas arrived. I actually lost track of how long the last pizza took, but it was that long we'd all finished eating or our food was stone cold. To make matters worse, it was the birthday girls pizza that came out late. Not exactly the special atmosphere we wanted. The second round of drinks we had to BEG for took that long they came out just before the bill. The most efficient part of the entire night was getting the bill. I understand it was busy but no efforts were made by the staff to rectify the situation/offer any peace offering. If you can't handle that amount of tables, don't let them in to fill your pockets. The only reason I haven't given this a one star review is because I think the price for the average food is right. A very disappointing night and our family will not be returning.

Amazing tapas at La Vina tonight. Asian beef incredible. Pepperoni pizza was lush. New croquettes were fabulous. Salt and pepper prawns were to die for. Neeeeed to try the Katsu pizza next. Friendly staff, good vibe. Cant wait to go back Thank you la vina

Such slow, inadequate service which ruined our evening - avoid avoid avoid. Had to ask after waiting for 40m for the waitress to just take our order - and she then had to go check with the kitchen that they could take the order… Waited over 30m for drinks. When the first set of tapas dishes eventually arrived, half of them were cold and we had to send them back. Then they got the order wrong and gave us incorrect dishes and blamed it on a junior member of staff, and although they offered to correct it we were so sick of waiting by this point we just went with the dishes we were given. There was not one point the entire evening that the staff approached our table to take our order, ask how the food was etc, ask if we wanted drinks. At the end of this slow meal, we were ironically rushed out as there was no one else in the restaurant - no offer to look at the desert menu or coffees or other drinks - as the staff clearly just wanted to go home despite it being more than two hours before the restaurant was due to close. No apology or acknowledgment of the appalling service. Average food. We try to support local independent businesses but this was just disappointing.

My partner wasn't sure about Tapas he's quite a fussy eater. The staff took time to explain all the dishes and make recommendations based on his responses. We ended up over ordering just to be sure he'd find something he liked and not a single dish disappointed! We had to take food home, it was too good to waste but we were absolutely full. Couldn't recommend it more!

Came in with my girlfriend for a late Valentine’s Day meal as I was working away and we were blown away by the quality of the food and the service received. The decor is lovely and we will 100% be back again and again and again.

We ate at la vina with friends from lytham st Anne’s the food was excellent as usual, but I wanted to mention the young staff who were outstanding, they went out of there way to be helpful and it didn’t go unnoticed , as young people often get such a bad press thought I’d just let them know thanks again

The food in this restaurant is absolutely brilliant. The range and quality, coupled with the wonderful service with a smile is just outstanding. Everybody should try. You won't be disappointed. It's really brilliant. We'll be back.

Just the best. Excellent service, and food beyond our expectations. Up from London for the weekend and it is so bloody good it would be worth commuting weekly. Superb tapas we insisted on dragging the chef out of the kitchen to thank him personally. 👍

Ordered 4 tapas each. Too much. Great food, great service. Love to go again. We all enjoyed it and applauded the chef.

Passing this establishment we saw an empty table outside in the sun. We decided to break our walk an enjoy a chilled glass of wine. First visit but definitely won’t be the last. Quickly attended to once we had sat down and ordered our drinks. We were offered a menu which displayed plenty of choices at reasonable prices. We were served by a very pleasant girl who answered all our questions about the menu. Will definitely be back to sample some of the lovely dishes soon. Asked for our bill which was quickly presented for all the tables were taken and the place was busy. Excellent service, excellent prices and an enjoyable hour was spent.

We have just visited La vina for the first time and would like to say it won't be our last we ate from the Taps menu which had lots of choice food came promptly and tasted amazing just to our taste Bar staff were very attentive and our drinks order delivered quickly This restaurant is a little gem 💎

I hope the management read this review. We are here, surrounded by people saying the same thing ….. poor service. There is slow, then there is la Vina slow.. waiting Over 40 minutes for a drink is ridiculous. Drinks ordered from next door arrived quicker. t’s not good business having serving staff ignore you rather than take your order. The staff looked and dirty tables and walked on. Your serve amazing food it really was delicious but the lack of good customer service is off putting. We saw two tables leave rather than wait. You need to invest is training your staff before you lose even more clientele,

I have visited la vita numerous times and try to support local businesses but after today we will not be going back. Today as a family we visited la vina for dinner, I ordered a meat feast pizza, what arrived was a chicken and ham. I explained the situation and after the pizza was served to me 10minutes after my family I was told due to covid they could not get certain ingredients(chorizo, chilli and meatballs) I informed them this should have been communicated so I could change my option. There was no apology and the waitress said they would take my starter off the bill not the pizza. I refused this and said the pizza should be taken off! Again no apology just a tut. Children’s menu also not suitable for children under 5 very battered/spiced chicken and the pizza source had a lot of basil. Terrible food and service all around.

Service was extremely slow and waited almost 3 hours for food to arrive and it was quite disappointing and some was under cooked.No heads up was given that the food might take a while to come out and no apologies were given after the very long wait otherwise we may have been more understanding if we had been made aware.The atmosphere was not very welcoming or friendly at all and it seemed like the woman didn't want us there at all and was annoyed by being asked when our food may arrive after we had waited hours.Would not go back or recommend.

Went for "date night"meal last night. They were extremely busy but made us aware of that and were very apologetic. We had a lovely chilled and relaxed meal with very friendly service. The food was amazing and we will definitely be back.

Visited the neighbouring bar to be explained they had alcohol but no food so La vina worked with them to provide food, which makes perfect sense, order 1 x pizza & 1 potatoe dish at 1.15 pm and it arrived at 3.10!! Waitress had a bad attitude, waiting that long is not satisfactory however hats off to the chef.. The food was absolutely gorgeous.

Visited La Vina on Saturday night having booked online. This was our first visit and we were immediately impressed with the warm reception we had. We ordered the 5 for £30 menu which was delicious and plenty for two guys we had to leave some. We were served by a young lady who was very friendly. Another lady spent time with explaining more about the restaurant and the neighbouring bar the stables to which they deliver food to customers. We have already recommended it to friends and will definitely be back.

I have been here twice recently and the service has been appallingly slow. I thought the first time may have been a one off so visited again, this time for breakfast on a quiet morning. The service was terrible. We waited and waited and waited for our drinks. The juice and water were both warm..When our food arrived, half of one of the breakfasts was missing and we had to send it back. The ‘poached eggs’ were more like boiled eggs. No members of staff asked us if our food was okay. Unfortunately the food was disappointing and the staff weren’t very welcoming. It felt like they didn’t care if we enjoyed our food/experience at all.Such a shame as it’s an excellent location but unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend it - especially if you don’t want to wait around for 2+ hours!

We have visited her 3 times each previous time we have had a lovely experience food delivered fast and very tasty,staff very friendly and welcoming however we will not be going back after today’s experience,waited over a hour for our food which we usually don’t mind as it usually means everything is made fresh but having to wait this long with a hungry autistic toddler was very gruelling ,when food did arrive I cut up my son’s chicken bites only to find one of them completely raw inside I had to had it off him as he was about to eat it,immediately took it back and they cooked it a little more ,a young waitress was sent out to ask if we wanted complementary drinks because of what happened, my partner said just knock some money off the bill as we just wanted to leave, she went back in ,to who I presume was the manager or supervisor and they knocked the kids meal off the bill, staff are amazing but for them to be as careless as to serve a kids meal raw is unforgivable in my eyes as if he had ate that without us realising that could of been extremely dangerous,so check your kids food before letting them eat it

Our first and last visit to this 'restaurant' It was a very quiet lunchtime, about six people were outside and none at all inside. The first thing we noticed was the lack of what you could call a 'lunch' two types of curry or scampi & chips. Plenty of burgers Tapas and pizzas but a very very limited of 'lunch' We waited at least 25 minutes for a simple starter Humus and bread, then another very long wait for the main course. I dread to think how long you would wait if there were more than a dozen customers, they simple wouldn't cope.

We visited last night for the first time and were delighted that this little gem is within walking distance of our house. There is a lovely arrangement with the microbrewery two doors down so that proper beer can be consumed during the meal. The food was delicious, great portion sizes, variety to suit everyone. Those who had pizzas and those who had tapas were all delighted with their choices. The paella starter is, take note, large enough to be a main meal. None was wasted though as everyone joined in to avoid any waste. Oh, and the staff at both locations were capable, friendly and efficient.

Party of six who visited for a Fathers Day treat. We were sat indoors as as all outdoor seating was taken. The place was quiet when we entered with only two other tables occupied. The restaurant has a tie in with The Stables craft beer bar next door which means you can order delicious craft beers to accompany your meal.All the food was very satisfying and all six in our party enjoyed their meals.A special mention has to go to the tapas of which you choose 5 for £30, easy enough to share between 2 or 3 depending on your appetite.Our only slight complaint was that it took over one hour for the food to arrive.The service was excellent and the staff were apologetic for the delay on our order.

My wife and I took my Mother in law here for her 80th birthday lunch.We had 5 Tapas dishes for £30 and a stone baked pizza style garlic bread with cheese.My wife and her Mam had a glass of white wine each.Everything was spot on and we'll definitely be back.La Vina also collaborate with the pub next door, which means you can order beers from the pub and also order food from La Vina whilst at the pub. This is a great idea and the pub does some fantastic craft ales.A special mention goes to Rachel who served us. She went out of her way to make the meal special for my mother in law.

Amazing selection of tapas, especially with the 5 for £30 offer, the pork belly was melt in the mouth delicious and gambas pil pil were exceptional! 5 star service to top it off

We visited La Vina for tapas and drinks last night and were warmly greeted after a short wait (they were very busy). When a member of staff came to take our order, my friend explained that she had a dairy and soy allergy and asked if she could possibly check if some of the items were okay for her to have. The lovely lady not only went to check our requests with the chef right away but actually came back with a list of what was suitable as well as suggestions the chef had made to some changes he could make to others to make those suitable too! My friend was delighted as it can be so hard to eat out whilst considering allergies. The food came out piping hot and was delicious. We would definitely return. Thank you La Vina!

We were really looking forward to going but ended up leaving after our drinks. The food did look good but after 45 mins we'd not even given our order and, when we asked if we could order, were told it would be at least another 30-40 minutes before the food would be ready. There was no way our kids could have waited - it was really disappointing.

Eating outside today was a challenge as it was very cold. Service ok but lack of banter with staff. Great venue but very expensive. Plenty of tables outside Free limited parking in the street

Just had 2 pizzas delivered from there new menu, calzone, and a meat feast, hot, fresh and very tasty, well done La Vina Delivery was on time and driver was very pleasant. Will definitely recommend trying the pizza's of the new menu.

Glad I didn't order anything larger as it had so many ingredients on I struggled with the 10", the ingredients didn't seem cheap multi franchised products either.

1st time ordering a roast from la vina, I've always fancy a little trip inside when driving past looks like a lovely little place. Today I ordered 1 beef and 1 chicken dinner and omg well worth every penny. Presentation was spot on came with a large tub of gravy too which were both warm ready to tuck into .All cooked to perfection me and my daughter really enjoyed every bit and will definitely order again.

I absolutely love coming here! Staff are lovely and food is amazing. Me and my little one often go and get the rancheros, 100% recommend them! Oh and they do the best coffee I’ve ever had!

I called in for a coffee and scone late in the day - both were lovely - as always there was a warm welcome and fab service. Covid measures are in place and plain to see. Definitely worth visiting.

Just visited La Vina for tapas, everything was hot, tasty and well presented. The staff were very friendly and most helpful.Anyone who's not sure about tapas, I would say give La Vina a try, you won't be disappointed.Well done to the La Vina team.

Myself and 2 friends visited for breakfast, we had booked a table and when we arrived we waited at the door to be seated. We were shouted over by the older lady near the counter, she didn’t provide a very warm welcome but raised her eyebrows and asked “have you booked?” I explained that I had and she pointed to my table.After waiting around 10 mins for a menu we all ended up going for poached eggs. I asked if it would be possible for a side of avocado, to which the young waitress replied “well I don’t know because the chef is prepping for the Sunday lunches”. I understand I was requesting a side which wasn’t included on my meal but it was a huge inconvenience for them. Our breakfasts arrived quite a while later and all poached eggs were overcooked and my avocado was brown. We were not offered any more drinks or the bill when we were finished our food we were just left to sit there. We then wanted to split the bill so the girl asked us to come to the counter to pay (we were told at the beginning not to come to the counter due to Covid) we each separately went to the counter and the older lady seemed very frustrated we had came over. She snapped at my friend because she forgot to pop her face mask on, my friend apologised and offered to go and grab it. She replied “well you’re here now aren’t you”.I would not return or recommend. I also wish they had closed the front door, it was wide open the entire time we were there. Didn’t enjoy shivering while eating my overcooked breakfast.

Visited for the first time and will be back again soon, food was fantastic and you could tell it was all fresh, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful when we asked for the meal to be adapted due to preference. Clean environment and following all the guidance for covid which was reassuring. Will recommend to all my friends. Can’t wait to try the Tapas menu next :)

The customer service was terrible. The staff wasn't friendly and my friends and I felt discriminated against just because we were foreigners. Hospitality was crap!!!

Here we were again! Tapas on a Friday night.Restaurant full which was nice to see. Lovely food, as always.I still have an issue with the door being wedged open every time mind!! I havent been midday for ages, and i can see the bad reviews are still there, so i can only say go for evening tapas and you wont be disappointed.

I wasnt going to write this.. but it totally upset our day and my mams tum and its very concerning. First time having food out together since march. Brunch.. eggs benedict and mams simple good old tuna jacket potatoe.. cant go wrong.. (had already been the week before which I wont talk about as we let that go, but thought we will give it a second chance being in such a pretty village..) our food came out very quick this time round.. mams tuna was inedible to the point she actually gagged, something was off.. really off and after the waitress took it back to the chef, the chef and she agreed and apologised, it tasted not only so old and but so sour and so wrong words cant explain, the jacket was hard and cold. (Obviously didnt taste fresh). Mine also didnt taste right.. normally i would eat and shut up but i couldnt.. the hollandaise sauce was hurrificly sour.. she admitted it was out of the jar but ive had jar ones and they dont taste like that.. anyways so mam had a bite of hers.. worrying she would be food poisoned.. she would have been if she ate it. We kept smiling and asked for a toastie.. and mine without the sauce on... waited another half an hour.. but then our teas (we asked to be with food was obviously freezingby that point) without asking.. she said she would come back to us to get us more drinks.. which was nice..obviously expecting on the house.. well food came out 10mins later by another waitress and never got those hot teas.. we just wanted to eat fast and get out of there as my car parking was going to run out. So so dissappointed and asked for the bill, the lovely young girl went in and we eventually got the bill.. we got charged in full including the awful "fresh" tuna jacket it said on the bill that my mam couldnt eat obviously. No discount which to be honest i would 100percent thought we should have gotten after that awful experience. The tuna was old.. inedible to the point if someone felt bad would have ate it and been ill. So mam mam went to talk to the other waitress the young girl and she didnt know what we had recieved or lack of service, after mam explained, she took the incorrect more expensive dish off the bill that mam didnt eat and mine. It was our second experience and sadly we wont be back. It actually worries us if they can get tuna wrong that badly.. what else isnt being cooked well or not being cooked,or maybe stored away way too long. Gordon Ramsey needs to have a visit i think. Lovely young waitress without hesitation helped us in the end. But what an experience..

This was our second meal out since lockdown, and after the first which was an absolute disaster, i was hoping this would be amazing and it was!!We had stopped coming to La Vina a while ago because their tapas menu changed, going from tapas to ‘fusion’, which had nothing on we would fancy. We felt they had missed a trick as the only tapas place in the immediate area at that time.I decided to look at their menu again this week, as so many restaurants have been changing their menus anyway. I was over the moon to see the classic tapas back, with a special deal (5 selected tapas for £22 or any 5 tapas for £30). Booked straightaway.We went on a lovely sunny, warm summer evening. Lovely decor and had a nice welcome.Excellent choice on menu, we ordered 8 between the 3 of us.Food was amazing, thank GOD they brought back the honey and sesame chicken!!! We wolfed everything down!! Couple of slight issues sorted straightaway without fuss. Customer feedback forms on table which we filled on. The only criticism i have, which comes over from my previous reviews and i wrote on the feedback form, is that it is far too cold with the door open all the time. While it was a nice warm evening, in the shade it is not and certainly not when there is a draft coming through the door. We cant get away with leaving the restaurant door open in the Northeast!!! For old customers who stopped going because of the menu change, its changed back, so go. And for new customers, go! We will return ASAP (will most likely return in august with voucher for eat out to help out scheme).

I visited last night and both the service and food were amazing. It was a surprise for my 30th birthday, and the staff couldn't do anything wrong. Super helpful, and super patient with 14 of us ordering.The tapas was delicious and with such a wide selection available even for the 1 vegetarian we had, it suited all members of our party. The decor is very subtle but fits with the whole style of the restaurant. I would 100% go back again in a heartbeat. Nice to see little family businesses like this operating and the standard of everything is top class.Overall a lovely birthday surprise at a lovely venue. Can not thank the staff enough for a great evening.

We had brunch here once before and although salty, we called in for lunch last week.We sat at a table which hadn’t been cleared from previous customers to be ignored. We weren’t even acknowledged.After 10 minutes we left and took our custom to Blacks Corner. We enjoyed amazing food and even better customer service.

Myself and my friend popped in for Sunday lunch the staff were lovely and very attentive and the food was amazing we will definitely be back!!

I’d heard some good reviews but as it’s a bit out of my way I hadn’t tried it myself.. What a mistake that was. The decor is lovely, the food was out of this world and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful with our choices. Absolutely gorgeous, and like my title says... I’ll be back.

Three of us called in for lunch. We got the last table, they were very busy.We were greeted instantly and our drinks order taken while we looked at the menu.The food arrived quickly and was beautifully presented. My mum actually asked for something not on the menu, and that wasn't a problem to them. My son had a warm salad and said it was delicious. And my sandwich was lovely. We visit now & again and should more often, we are never disappointed. The staff were friendly as always and very attentive, even though they were so busy.

11 January 2020 decided to call in for breakfast at 10.00 a.m. There were two front of house staff. There was a table of 3 young men to the left of us, a couple at the table next to us and a man opposite.The young lad who is regularly in when I go was working his socks off but the waitress was there for decoration as far as we could see.After 17 minutes of waiting to place our order my husband decided he had had enough. It was then the young lad spotted us and came over to apologise as he thought we had given our order.We left and ate elsewhere.Such a shame

I visited this restaurant with husband and 3 friends. Only one of us in the group would return. The decor and surroundings were good. We all ordered Tapas special each. The tapas were disappointing the hummus was watery and tasteless. 3 of our party each ordered pork meatballs they were colourless which was off putting they were also tasteless and nobody ate them. Pollo Teriyaki came with peanut butter sauce. Overall a disappointing meal which did not appear to of been freshly prepared. The waitress was friendly and helpful when she saw that we had not eaten most of the dishes she asked would we return 4 of us said no.

Attended late on an afternoon with friends . Staff were excellent as normal and couldnt be more helpful even catered for my current dietary needs. Food was excellent. Would highly recommend for both food and service of staff who couldn't be nicer.

This was my wife’s and my first visit but our friends had been here before and throughly enjoyed their visit. From entering the restaurant the waitress was very friendly and accommodating. We were ordering off the Tapas Menu. She answered any queries we had when making our choices. The food was delicious and the selections were served in acceptable time spans. There was a wide selection of wines and beers. We had a great night and will definitely return. We recommend this restaurant highly.

We've been here a few times since it opened, and it's always been really good. We came here on Saturday night to try the Tapas menu as we hadn't been in a while. A table was booked for 8pm and when we arrived there were only two other tables occupied, which isn't a great sign. It was a rotten night and a bad time of year I suppose.Anyway, we ordered three plates each and decided to have a starter as well. A while later 2 plates came out. Then 10 minutes later another two came out, when the waitress then explained they didn't have the starter we ordered. Might have been an idea to clarify that before the mains started coming out I'd have thought? Anyway we scrapped the starter idea - seeing as we were already half way through what had already arrived - then the final couple of plates arrived another 10 minutes later. Now, I'm no fine dining connoisseur, but surely a starter should arrive before the mains? And Tapas should all arrive at once, or at least within a decent time frame?? The food was nice, but I suspect the portion sizes have decreased, and it's not what I would call cheap. The waitress came and had a chat at the end and she even said it was a tad expensive. She also asked if we liked the new menu - which has apparently been changed twice since we were last here. "Not really" was our reply.If it ain't broke, don't fix it... Knocking on 50 quid for not a lot of food and two TINY glasses of pop isn't great value in my eyes.We shall of course give it another chance, as I said it's always been spot on, and the day time menus are decent value and really nice.I really hope this was a blip or teething issues with the new menu, but I'd humbly suggest a rethink of the pricing and menus.

First sunday lunch visit which we booked prior for 2:50pm for a table of 4..

Well it was the first lunchtime visit today and must say it was disappointing only had a couple of sandwiches really ,to try first off , but I had the cheese and pickle on artisan bread , when it came it was the cheapest cheese with gerkins on sliced white bread very disappointing at nearly £6 ,my daughter's sandwich was a bit better goats cheese and red onion but again it wasn't exactly artisan bread . The only thing that was in the cafes favour was the kids meals were ok but again a bit pricey.

Well, I have had 1 lunchtime experience here previously and been for 4 tapas nights.

Went as a party of four, sat inside on a very warm day although they do have a few tables outside. Three of our party had the Miners Breakfast, poached eggs, muffin, bacon, black pudding and hollandaise sauce, the other had a cooked breakfast. Every item was cooked to perfection including the poached eggs. The bill came to £30 with drinks. My only small gripe would be that it was very warm inside the restaurant.

over an hour wait for a chicken burger which was extremely oily, not worth the wait, meatball panini was cold despite also being burnt! the horrendously long waiting time paired with quite a cold and sour faced middle aged blonde server means i definitely wont return. my partners pork belly sandwich was lovely however didnt make up for the hour wait

Reading the reviews I'm not sure what happened here ? called in for eggs benedict but was told the menu had changes so eggs were only available up to 1130. tried ordering the meatball panini, but told it was off, due to waiting for supplies.A tad disappointed now I ordered the loaded fires. The food arrived and was nowt to shout about. A jacket potato with prawns and salad, and a burger with fries accompanied my loaded fries. They turned out to be luke-warm at best, The cheese had been grated whcih looked like Cheddar, I think that it was supposed that the heat of the fries would melt the cheese. But it failed miserably! And the pieces of crispy bacon weren't ? The fries with the burger were also cold. This was pointed out to the waitress who said she would remove the fries from the bill. On checking the bill the fires had been removed but we had been charged for another jacket potato, with chicken and bacon. Again this was pointed out to the Staff and the £5.50 was refunded. All in all a memorable dining experience for the wrong reasons, I can only assume the evening tapas are exceptional. The whole purpose of dining out is to be served good food that you wouldn't expect at home. Unfortunately I could have cooked the whole lot better myself - not what I would have expected. Other then that the Staff were friendly enough. As for the Eggs Benedict it's the 2nd time that I have struck out here so I'll be making my own from now on. After all its' only a couple of poached eggs with Hollandaise sauce on a toasted muffin. I can't see what the big deal was by just asking the cook to knock couple up, it wasn't that busy ??

Stopped off initially for a few drinks and decided to eat. This was no problem and we went indoors to take our seats. Ordered 7 tapas dishes from squid in tempura batter, prawns in garlic, prawn pil pil to deep fried black pudding. However, the star of the show was belly pork in a sweet sticky sauce that I could only describe as heavenly. Service was friendly and atmosphere relaxed. Will most definitely be returning after the place closes for a week for a refurb (wouldn't have said it was needed but will be nice to see). As long as the belly pork stays on the menu.

Popped out for dinner and heard this restaurant was nice but wasn’t expecting anything special. Hugely surprised by quality and standard of the delicious food. Plenty of choice, good sized portions and Some of the best tapas I’ve ever had! Definitely worth a visit.

Visited La Vina for the first time for lunch and it exceeded my expectations greatly. We were greeted by polite and professional staff who took our order promptly, I ordered the sausage melt with chunky chips. The food didn’t take too long to come and when it did I was very surprised at how flavoursome it was, I would definitely recommend trying this for a lunch time meal. My other half got the tuna melt, also with chunky chips, and this too was very nice. Fairly priced and great quality, will return.

Lovely little coffee shop with great food. Had Eggs Royale last week and it was cooked perfect and so tasty. As a result, we decided to go back this week for Sunday lunch and it was fantastic. All I can see is this is a great place to eat and drink and I will certainly go back soon.

Good choice menu of Tapas however not generous portions! With a table of five people all the portion dishes contained three pieces - how strange! Most Tapas consumers like to share. Only one waitress trying to serve all of ten tables which was impossible for her and it highlighted comments made in previous reviews.

Visited La Vina this morning with my mum and 2 kind (9&3).

We booked a table for 9, for Sunday lunch, and it was a fantastic experience. The service was great, there was a good choice on the menu and the food was amazing.

What can I say everything about this restaurant from walking through the door and being greeted by the staff to the food and the service from the staff was exemplary my family and i couldn't have been looked after any more. The food was amazing deffinatley be going again a lot

Tried La Vina for the first time . Shared six tapas and a bottle of wine. Everything we ate was amazing particularly the mussels and the bellypork! We will be back this weekend for sure Great service and relaxing atmosphere

The Sunday Lunch is new to the menu and did not disappoint. There is a good selection of meat and vegetarian options, served with perfectly cooked vegetables and plenty of them. The food was hot and extremely enjoyable. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Would definitely recommend a visit here for either cakes/scones (superb); tapas (fantastic); breakfasts are fab……………and now Sunday lunches.

The food here is INCREDIBLE! We had a selection of tapas ranging from traditional Spanish cuisine to Chinese inspired belly pork. Don't let your eye get bigger than your belly though as the portions are very generous! Very reasonable prices and super quick service. Will definitely be returning

Visited here for a family members birthday, it was New Year’s Eve and we were a party of 14 so a deposit was paid in advance for each person therefor the staff knew it was a larger booking. I have eaten here before on a few occasions and food and service have always been lovely, on this occasion the service wasn’t. We were there over 30 mins before orders were taken, there were other tables so we understood this, food seemed to take ages to come, then when it did our meals were brought out over about 30 mins! So people had finished eating before others even had theirs, bad planning, one of our party had a burger and found part of the plastic wrapper still attached, this was brought to the waitress’ attention but nothing more was said on it! Not once did anyone apologise for the slow service or plastic in the food. An apology goes a long way. All in all the food was delicious but bad service and planning spoiled the occasion.

We decided to come to La Vina for my dads birthday. The setting is lovely sat down but took 20 minutes to actually serve us. Maybe that should of set the alarm bells ringing but after hearing amazing reviews you think maybe it’s a one off. It is busy.

La Vina is a little gem of a cafe located in Cleadon Village. If you are looking for hot or cold drinks, cakes, sandwiches and savouries or a light lunch then this is the place for you. Their menu is large, and varied for a cafe, and the Chefs are willing to mix and match for complete customer satisfaction. Their breakfasts are amazing and very generous.

Had been looking forward to trying this newish restaurant/cafe, having read the positive reviews and these are my views:

We joined friends who'd eaten at the restaurant before, following their recommendation, and we weren't disappointed. We weren't sure why there was a wide screen TV on one wall and chose to sit on the other side of the restaurant rather than below the screen ( I think this should be switched off or even removed!) Service was quick, almost too quick, but we were all really pleased with the sharing tapas we chose. The food was tasty and plentiful and we felt it was great value for money. We will return and look forward to bringing our son who lives in Spain for his take on our local tapas, which we thought were great!

Our first night and it won’t be our last. Great tapas with excellent service. Good atmosphere and excellent service.

My wife and I visited La Vina in Cleadon Village, it’s been quite some time since we have been back in the area and what a great treat was in store for us. We arrived mid morning and eventually decided to have some from their ample breakfast menu, my wife went for the Eggs benedict and I eventually decided on the full English. Food and service were first rate and considering the place was virtually full the service was very slick. We even managed to share one of their homemade scones which was delicious. Coffee is best I’ve tasted in quite some time. I take my hat off to the new owners you are doing a great job certainly an asset to the village.

Beautiful setting. Amazing tapas. belly pork and honey chicken are to die for & sangria was delicious. Great service with excellent prices and good portion sizes. Definitely missing out if you don't try here!

Went last night for an anniversary meal. Food was delicious (especially the belly pork!). Staff were attentive and gave advice on the food, how many to have etc. After the meal we had some gins and our server (Claire) helped us to choose from an extensive range.

I called in here with my husband and 3 year old. The decor is beautiful lovely fresh and modern. The place felt really welcoming. I chose the posh scampi from the specials which are displayed on a TV screen with other adverts for different drinks they offer and noticed an advert for Christmas and new year nights. The food we all had was lovely, fresh and hot. We waited a little but not too long considering the food was clearly freshly cooked for us. The meal my little girl had which was the fish goujons were fabulous lovely fresh white pieces of fish, which you could tell weren't just from a packet. We will definitely be back. After reading there reviews we are going to give the tapas a try too. Thanks la vina see you soon

Sorry but was very disappointed. Food was tasteless and the salad was days old. Chips tasted like they'd been reheated. Didn't say anything at the time as was with family!

We came for lunch and were looking forward to a glass of wine and some nice lunch. The menu was toasties, panini, or burgers with no side options or starters. A very, very basic café menu to say the least. Two toasties ordered and a side of nachos which were so dry we couldn’t separate them at all. Not a nice lunch you can enjoy a glass of wine with at all. So disappointing, we were really hoping this place would be our new favourite. I wouldn’t return unless they change their day time menu and employ a chef during day time service ( presuming with such a basic menu of toasties there’s only a chef during tapas on an evening) such a shame.

I enjoyed my experience at La Vina so much it’s prompted me to write my first review. The decor in the restaurant is beautiful you can tell the owners have really paid attention to detail and the overall atmosphere in the bistro made eating here a great night! Would definitely recommend this venue for a date or any other occasion.The food is the best tapas I’ve ate in the north, fresh food and great chefs. Better than El Torero and El Coto hands down.

Unreal food. The wife and I love Tapas, we go out pretty regularly in Newcastle for it and this restaurant is right up there with the best. Very impressed and will return.

Heard a lot about La Vina so decided to go tonight and I wasn't disappointed at all. The food was amazing and the staff were really helpful. Spoke to a lady called Clare (think she was the manager) and she was fantastic she couldn't do enough to help. If you want a great night out in a friendly atmosphere then get yourself along
