Aestically this is a lovely vintage hotel with nice-sized rooms and friendly staff. However, I would be concerned about staying in the summer.. read on. After a long day at work, I chose to relax with a bath. After running the tap for 5 or 10 minutes it was still cold. When I contacted the night porter he later explained the boiler had been turned off and was now back on, however it would take 30 minutes to warm up. After waiting an hour or two, it got to midnight and by this point I was too tired. I was later explained to that you can either have the heating on and hot water or nothing at all. Hence my concern for the summer! For breakfast two metal flasks were not labeled so had to guess which one was coffee and hot water. Both of these were not hot at all and were luke warm every morning despite turning up 8am. The food was well cooked but not much variety, and the fresh juice not very pleasant. Also randomly a roll of tinfoil and cigarette materialised under my bed despite having a private sign on my door. Again overall love the aesthetic and nice staff just would not stay for work again especially as they don't have a dedicated restaurant for evening meals.

Another great meal at the stag, would highly recommend for a budget family friendly place to eat in Hartlepool, highly recommended

Had a couple of beers and cocktails before going to eat. It wasn't too busy but we enjoyed it.

Lovely breakfast today at Biancos. Both of us ordered the easy breakfast. Great customer service as always. Special mention to Claire for making the best coffee I've had all week!

We had a really tastey Sunday carvery, the beef was delicious and very tender, there was a lot of vegatables to choose from and the gravy was excellent.

I first went to Mary Rowntrees & was impressed. When I visit Hartlepool, I’ll almost always have lunch there. The standard’s remained high, the ambiance is good, nice people go there & the price is good too. It’s warm too ! Whilst the rest of the hospitality industry is struggling & cheap heat-from-frozen food becomes more common, Mary Rowntrees remains head & shoulders above other cafés & eateries.

Lovely afternoon and experience at the black olive with friends at a bottomless brunch, drinks and food where amazing and a Thankyou to Erin Jacqui and Craig where fabulous hosts and gave us a warm welcome, and would highly recommend.

Lovely pub, good atmosphere and very popular. Love the fact we can chill out as there’s NO FOOTBALL!! Which has ruined many other pub restaurants, good on the manager for removing the tvs and giving families a safe place to go.

Previously the food was really nice but since the menu change the food as definitely changed from 5 stars to 3 stars now Regular customer , staff really nice Just the food is nowhere near as nice
