Jacksons Wharf in Hartlepool

Just moved to the area, so thought we would try it. Really happy with everything, we had steak and ale pie and scampi, chocolate fudge cake to follow. All was excellent, service was prompt and staff attentive. Will definitely be back soon

Food took a really long time to arrive at table even though it wasnt busy. Ordered the 8oz aged sirlon steak with chips mushrooms half tomatoe and peas it arrived with no mushrooms. Also ordered the cowboy burger fries where stone cold burger was over done really not worth the money

Cheap but we found out why. My steak was overcooked, my wife's had a large piece of gristle in it. Onion rings well overcooked , rest of food was okay and reasonably sized portion. Wouldn't come back.

Excellent food and hospitality at good prices! Cook was on break, so the bartender took it upon herself to put our (delicious) steaks on the grill for us. That exceptional service alone earns 5 stars from me, but the food and drinks earned them, as well. Great weekday specials!

Friendly staff,roast was pretty good,I didn't eat all mine but that was because I'd paid for extra which I couldn't finish so generous portion. Toilets where ok. Was a lot of noise around the pool table from one group which was ok but there where people trying to eat meals and have conversation over the noise from the youths being encouraged by the adults.......I'm not against fun just be considarate to others 👍obviously not the pubs fault I must add. All in all a nicely located pub to explore and I would return if in the area.

Loved the bay window view of the tall ships next door. The food and service were perfect, which were reasonable priced. Will definitely be going back and would recommend it. 5*****

Good drink and food service, portion sizes where good value for money the fish was like a whale and was hanging over the side of the plate! All our food was piping hot and didn’t wait too long our server was more than accommodating! Thanks to Scott and Clayton for fantastic food and service! We will be back!!

Food great and amazingly friendly bar staff. The landlady and landlord were brilliant. It’s also dog friendly as well with doggos getting their own menu. Made us feel really relaxed and comfortable will definitely be back. A gem in Hartlepool and I just wish more places were like this.

Jackson’s Wharf - What an absolute gem of a pub. Having dogs is hard work and trying to get a pub that you can feel comfortable and relaxed in - well look no further than the landlady and all of the staff at Jackson’s Wharf making you feel like a home from home. We ordered food which was great and they even have a doggy menu like sausage mash and peas. My dogs wanted to move in. It really is a lovely place and I will definitely be back. Please give them a massive pat on the back and breweries take note there should be more places like this.

The server was super friendly and attentive, the pub was clean and well-lit, and obviously the food was also great. My partner had a rare steak which he said was perfectly cooked, and the other meals were hot and delicious. We will definitely come again!

Fish and chips was great fresh and crispy, along with great service would recommend. Bigs up to the chefs for the amazing food.

Cosy atmosphere; warm ambience with views over the harbour. Food took a while to arrive but worth the wait . Friendly staff and free car parking next door.

Fabulous pub, lots of room, beautiful views. We went for lunch with our two dogs. My steak was delicious. The dogs had sausage casserole which they throughly enjoyed. Highly recommended 😊

Staff very friendly, food was lovely, would definitely recommend whether for a quick drink on your own or out for a meal with the family.

Booked for 17 people as a family member had travelled up from down south for his birthday. They brought their dog with them so needed somewhere dog friendly. Highly recommend Jackson’s Wharf. Every person enjoyed their meal, no complaints and a fab, efficient service. Used to come here years ago, will start coming again more often with our children and well behaved pooch. Thank you.

Amazing place great atmosphere!

Food normally great. Tonight diabolical waitress not even bothered or apologetic couldn't care less. Which is a shame as we are regulars. Perhaps not anymore.

First visit to here with the afvbc and first meet with them! Brilliant on both sides, breakfast was lovely, service was great, company was fantastic. Will definitely be back to try out the lunch and dinner menus.

Very efficient and friendly service

My wife is totally allergic to all dairy such as milk, cream, cheese, butter ,yoghurt, gee, etc. and also all Sea food and Fish. Before ordering, I explained this to the barmaid who was extremely helpful. She informed her manager and the Chef. The Manager helped us through our order selection, checking with the Chef as we went along. The waiter cleaned our table with disinfectant and hand washed our cutlery to prevent any cross contamination. The Chef also took steps to ensure no cross contamination. The food was excellent, along with the wine. The service was amazing. The location is wonderful, overlooking the Marina. Easy parking and entry for disabled people. All staff, the Manager, Chef, Barmaid and Waiter were highly professional, polite and very helpful . My wife and I will certainly be frequenting this establishment again. Absolutely delightful, I have no hesitation in recommending Jacksons Wharf to all.

Very dissapointed. The food was little better than a works canteen food. We thought we'd give it a try as we received a 30% off mains voucher thro the post and really wish we hadn't bothered as what we got was not worth it. Why places insist on serving anemic frozen chips is beyond me but as a rule it always reflects the quality of their meals in general. Needless to say ,we won't be going back.

great place, nice service, very interesting architecture and decor

Booked for food at 7 30. Wasn't aware there was a singer on. She was very good but had to move seats as my grandson doesn't like loud noise. The staff were lovely. The food was really nice. We sat near the windows with a lovely view over the marina. In all it was a lovely night.

It's okay nothing special. Food was surprisingly nice I have to say. Pub was empty but service was slow waited close to a good 40 minutes after ordering for food. Price not too bad but nothing special. Would I go again probably yes

Me and my boyfriend went Tuesday evening for a meal and we are both still really ill from it. I ordered the chicken New Yorker and boyfriend had the mixed grill. I am literally in pain and still needing the toilet every 30 minutes. I hope health and safety do a surprise inspection very soon as they clearly aren't safe.

We were really pleased with this pub. We brought our dog and staff was very friendly and welcoming. Had the burger and sweet potato fries, both outstanding,!!

Xmas Dinner !!! No ambiance, food was not very nice in fact it was disgusting. The staff didn’t seem to know what was happening with the service . Because the food was running so late you’d have thought I’t would’ve been worth it but alas no. Would’ve been nice if the manager or a staff member came and told us what was going on but we had to go and ask only to be given a none answer of 5mins , we’d already sat over half an hour waiting for starters then sat with the dirty plates for another half hour or more then once the Xmas dinner was served it was such a disappointment. I would never recommend this place to anyone it’s a joke ! !

Food was outstanding service and prices great value

Popped in for a light lunch whilst Christmas shopping. Ended up smashing the ultimate burger. Fantastic food! I recommend paying for the extra fries tho, don't get many with the meal.

Nice pub for a meal or a drink. Excellent view of the Marina from the back if it's sunny and a nice building with lots of character in the winter. Couple of cask ales on as well as Neck Oil. Not been in for a while because it's a little of the track for a beer pub crawl. But worth going for a meal or before the match or something like that ... Maybe even while the misses is at Asda 😁.

Food was good but had a but of a wait after ordering it. It was a quite day though so maybe they were unprepared for a table of 5.

Went for Sunday lunch never been before and didn't know what to expect. Ordered the Beef and it was very nice a decent plate full mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli, red cabbage, turnip, Yorkshire pudding with stuffing 2 huge slices of beef with plenty of rich beef gravy. And it tasted lovely.

Waited to the point the grandchildren wanted to go to bed, I got the fish and chips absolutely horrendous and cold , pre cooked it was like what you would get from Iceland frozen rubbish my son got mixed grill that was good and he enjoyed it. Please don't buy the fish and chips, they also ran out of chips and gave fries 😢

Love it here for a definite safe and accepting space to come at any time of day, any day of the week with my dog. Traditional pub food, never had a bad meal yet, huge menu and good prices. Dog menu is lovely and plenty room between tables to get a sage space to sit. Staff have all been lovely and helpful whenever I've been.

Only went in for a beer or two and the wainwright was terrible

As admin for Hartlepool Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club, Jacksons Wharf have hosted us for the last two years. It’s a great venue, with fantastic staff. They go out of their way to help us make our club as good as it can be with great food and drinks. Their support is amazing! I’d recommend anyone to check it out for a great place to relax with friends and receive a warm welcome.

Had curry and a drink lunch deal, they serve Inch's cider 👍, had the red pepper and spinach curry with half chips/half rice. We really enjoyed the curry, the service was great even though the woman behind the bar looked like she was doing everything barring the cooking. We always enjoy the atmosphere in this pub, their staff are always pleasant and this visit was no different, even though it was quiet.

The food was lovely, a generous portion and the table service was spot on. Would definitely come back again.

Food was great for the price. Had the mac'n'cheese with the vegan chicken stores and I was impressed. Great views from the beer garden of the old tall ship in the Dock too.

We visited for a family get together. Staff were attentive, friendly and super helpful. The food was tasty, and reasonably priced we'll definitely be back soon.

Sorry to say we noticed a severe downturn in the quality of service at this location, one person to cover the bar and food service, and the quality of the food ordered and served was of a poor standard , tough steak , overcooked fish ( very overcooked), all in all not a pleasant experience which we as a group will not be repeating next year.

This place is easy to get to easy access if you are in a wheelchair. I have an allergy to everything in the allium family, garlic and celery the staff could not be more helpful. I was offered a choice of at least 6 different dishes to choose from. This made my day as usually I don't get this in a lot of places, so thank you so much. In fact this is my second time back in 2 weeks. I had macaroni cheese and my husband had fish and chips.

Beautiful views..Unfortunately terrible service. The food was delicious but totally spoiled by red lipstick on glass and sharing meal with 6 flies. We also felt like we were an inconvenience because we asked for deserts.Dont think we will visit again which is a shame. Chef should go elsewhere

the land lord is despicable. while having dinner on site we witnessed only 1 bar maid and 2 kitchen staff while the pub was heaving. as a customer i offered my help and collected glasses and pots for the staff as they were under the cosh amd this is unacceptable

Came to the pub just before 12 noon toilets were filthy and doors did not lock. Ordered food and we were waiting for around 40 minutes for the food to arrive - we were informed that it was taking so long because 2 large parties...

Cod with chips was awesome! It is worth to say that garlic bread there is really another level - a phillar of civilization!

Just had the worst Sunday dinner ever , the beef was total fat , I was so disappointed in what was served to me and my wife. A group of four people came in and asked what the meal was like , I told them to save their money and go elsewhere, they thanked me and left . I would normally take what meat is left over from my wife’s plate home for the dog but I didn’t bother as it was so bad .This is not like me to do a review but I was so disappointed I had too

Filthy. Restaurant had just opened....but toilets blocked, finger prints all over glass on doors. General disarray. Ordered a latte....was not hot and cup half full. Fish and chips was drenched in fat. Staff looked inexperienced. Never again.

We went for the tall ships. The pub was really busy and very well organised for such a massive event. Food was lovely staff worked really well under pressure and very pleasent. Great day out.

Bartender tried a 1 pour Guinness had to stop him. He has no clue how to pour this. My wife asked for a bottle of Bud with a glass bit couldn't find a suitable clean one.

Went at a really busy time. We didn't eat but the service was fantastic.

I booked a table for four. Upon arrival bar was very busy. Completely understandable. I was told that no bookings were taken that day. Very sorry but website should have notified me. That was that. Very disappointing.

As a local I don’t often venture to this pub, but as the tall ships was on I had a pint sat outside, give them there due they had a great idea of putting a few beer taps outside to cater for the crowds. It’s not a pub to expect a gourmet meal, typical chain fodder.

Wife asked for a rosé and was told 2 where available zinfandel and shiraz. So I got her the shiraz. On the second visit to the bar, I ordered my drink and another glass of shiraz. The barmaid brought over a glass of red wine. I explained the last barman said the shiraz was a rosé. She told me he was new and it wasn't. So I had to order a rosé as well no offer to exchange or anything.

Good pub food done well and not overpriced. I came on the Friday of the tall ships festival so maybe not the best time to arrive as I hate plastic glasses but decent service, nice selection and a great view
