Jacksons Wharf in Hartlepool

I went with my daughter as a midweek treat. We both had the steak . It was cooked exactly as we asked. The deserts were a delight. The young lady that served us was a lovely lass. I will definitely go again. 2 years ago I gave a bad review for this place but now it's an absolute pleasure

Went to watch The 58 Jazz Collective play, which was fantastic. The pub is spacious, clean and bright, with attentive, helpful staff. I'll certainly be visiting again, not least of all to see the next gig on the 8th December!

Very nice views, this place stands right after Hartlepool museum and it's sunny here in the morning and afternoon. I've ordered pint Moretti, surf turf steak and tomato soup. The soup was great! served with bread and butter. When the mains come, I didn't really enjoyed the fillet. It was too dry and not good. But I really got excited from chips and onion rings. They are perfectly crispy and cooked nice! I recommend this place as a nice pub, the atmosphere is really good.

Had a Sunday dinner not happy as veg was too soft, beef was tough, stuffing was rock hard Yorkshire pudding soft and strongarm was not up to scratch

Jacksons is a great pub, with a friendly atmosphere, the staff are always pleasant and ready to help, we love this pub, the food was served, quickly and came up trumps, at a reasonable price, with the added bonus of a generous 30% off the bill which was great because we are pensioners 👍🏻👍🏻 thank you.

Food is good for what it is and is really reasonably priced when discounts on. My only suggestion would be more choice when it comes to healthier options.

Came in yesterday with my Mum to celebrate her birthday as it’s our favourite place got food and atmosphere and once again the Jackson’s team did not disappoint they had just put up all their decorations for Halloween and the place looks great their team are an asset and should all be really proud of what they’re doing. Keep it up will definitely be back.

We have visited this pub on several locations we only live 10 mins away but the hospitality and warm welcome you get is fab. We come as a couple and it's a lovely chilled out vibe on the terrace in the shadow of the Trimcomalee and overlooking the marina. Even better when the sun is shining. When we come with our daughter the staff are fab on one occasion they even provided non alcoholic shots for our daughter (to make her feel included) when we had one in celebration of our friends birthday. We love it and can only hope we come to the Halloween and Xmas parties we missed out on last year. Our favourite go to pub 😀

My local. Me, my Son and Daughter come here regularly. Pool on Mondays, food throughout the week or weekend it’s always a decent time. A quieter pub with a canny menu and amazing staff!

I come here quite regularly for drinks and food, today we both had the Sunday roast and it did not disappoint. Beautiful fresh vegetables and perfectly cooked beef. The staff here are amazing and nothing is ever too much trouble. Cannot recommend this place enough

Love this place, fabulous customer service, really filling Food, dog friendly snacks and water, beautiful situation by the water, pool table and jukebox are lovely additions without being overwhelming.

Very tired looking now and dirty considering the pub had just opened. Not very happy staff when they did appear. Window sill rotten with cobwebs and dead flies. Expensive compared to restaurant next door that serves freshly cooked food daily.

Lovely venue, usually quiet, so the staff must be conditioned to only work at a leisurely pace. There must be other duties to be fulfilled as service at the bar doesn't seem to be the highest priority, having recently stood at the bar 5 minutes before seeking out staff and that was when the place was quiet. Unfortunately the staff can't Manage when an event draws in more than their regular low numbers. Having to queue behind a dozen people just to order a drink may be understandable once, until extra staff can be mustered behind the bar but watching staff restocking fridges and shelves as the queue continues to grow seemingly suggested it was our own fault for being there and was difficult to sympathise with. Good beer, when you eventually get your hands on it! Haven't tried the pub grub recently.

We came in for something to eat in the late afternoon. I wanted a sandwich or similar, but all those options were not served after 3pm. We ordered off the main menu, although I was put off by so many dishes being with chips according to the menu. Actually when I spoke to the server, alternatives were available. We wanted regular hand-pulled beer. There wasn't any. They'd run out. Bottled beer was available. I chose 2 pints of what I guessed would be expensive draught continental beer. I don't know how much it cost, but we had pie and mash, a chicken curry and 2 pints and it cost £34.48. It seemed expensive for a very average meal.

We had Sunday lunch here after doing Race for Life, lovely sitting in the sun looking out over the marina wasn't busy, sprouts a bit hard and they didn't do cauliflower cheese :(

What an absolute shame. This place used to be a lovely little pub with but over the years its just gone down hill. This review is sadly an accumulation of several visits over the past few months. From walking in the door, there is a distinct lack of atmosphere. Its been exceptionally quiet each time with only a hand full of people in the whole building and this doesn't help... but in general its doesnt feel like a welcome environment. Each time Ive stood at the bar and waited for quite some time while waiting to even be acknowledged. Service is slow and painfully lacking in personal interaction. The menu is enormously overpriced for average quality pub food and you can eat for the same price or cheaper in Portofinos Restaurant which is literally next door and over looks the Historic Quay. In my opinion this needs significant investment in staffing/staff training to create a more welcoming and engaging environment. The menu requires a deeper look at its price points based on the service and general atmosphere. With the right management and team it could be a fabulous little pub again in a lovely location.

We went for Sunday lunch my friend had beef and I had half roast chicken. There was a good range of vegetables, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and plenty of gravy all tasted very nice but when it was served it was not very hot. So before you finished your meal it was cold so the enjoyment had gone. Told the waitress about it and she did apologise and said sorry about that. And I think we had the same problem last time we had the Sunday lunch but I don't think I mentioned it. Because we did enjoy it the same as last time.

Was workmen all over outside and was very noisy was hard to get served had to search for staff and food was alright

Absolutely lovely pub with a charming group of hard working, friendly staff that make every visit I've had a cosy experience. Food is great, classic pub plates with a lot of interesting and enjoyable side dishes available. Kebab served here too which is a real treat for anyone coming for food later in the evening :) Highly recommend!

Lovely little pub right on the water front of the marina. Staff are very friendly and the food is delicious! We've never had to wait too long for our food and it's always arrived hot. Friendly atmosphere with music playing and a pool table available. This is our go to pub grub establishment

We travelled up from Hull to meet our children who are currently at Hartlepool University. It was a birthday celebration and we were not disappointed! The food was tasty and fresh! The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely return again!

I haven’t been to this pub for a lot of years on entering the pub I was welcomed with a smile and amazing service ! I ordered a vegetarian stone bake pizza today and chips with garlic and I must say was the best stone baked pizza I have had in Hartlepool 10/10 Highly recommend

Just moved to the area, so thought we would try it. Really happy with everything, we had steak and ale pie and scampi, chocolate fudge cake to follow. All was excellent, service was prompt and staff attentive. Will definitely be back soon

Food took a really long time to arrive at table even though it wasnt busy. Ordered the 8oz aged sirlon steak with chips mushrooms half tomatoe and peas it arrived with no mushrooms. Also ordered the cowboy burger fries where stone cold burger was over done really not worth the money

Cheap but we found out why. My steak was overcooked, my wife's had a large piece of gristle in it. Onion rings well overcooked , rest of food was okay and reasonably sized portion. Wouldn't come back.

Excellent food and hospitality at good prices! Cook was on break, so the bartender took it upon herself to put our (delicious) steaks on the grill for us. That exceptional service alone earns 5 stars from me, but the food and drinks earned them, as well. Great weekday specials!

Friendly staff,roast was pretty good,I didn't eat all mine but that was because I'd paid for extra which I couldn't finish so generous portion. Toilets where ok. Was a lot of noise around the pool table from one group which was ok but there where people trying to eat meals and have conversation over the noise from the youths being encouraged by the adults.......I'm not against fun just be considarate to others 👍obviously not the pubs fault I must add. All in all a nicely located pub to explore and I would return if in the area.

Good drink and food service, portion sizes where good value for money the fish was like a whale and was hanging over the side of the plate! All our food was piping hot and didn’t wait too long our server was more than accommodating! Thanks to Scott and Clayton for fantastic food and service! We will be back!!

Food great and amazingly friendly bar staff. The landlady and landlord were brilliant. It’s also dog friendly as well with doggos getting their own menu. Made us feel really relaxed and comfortable will definitely be back. A gem in Hartlepool and I just wish more places were like this.

Jackson’s Wharf - What an absolute gem of a pub. Having dogs is hard work and trying to get a pub that you can feel comfortable and relaxed in - well look no further than the landlady and all of the staff at Jackson’s Wharf making you feel like a home from home. We ordered food which was great and they even have a doggy menu like sausage mash and peas. My dogs wanted to move in. It really is a lovely place and I will definitely be back. Please give them a massive pat on the back and breweries take note there should be more places like this.

The server was super friendly and attentive, the pub was clean and well-lit, and obviously the food was also great. My partner had a rare steak which he said was perfectly cooked, and the other meals were hot and delicious. We will definitely come again!

Fabulous pub, lots of room, beautiful views. We went for lunch with our two dogs. My steak was delicious. The dogs had sausage casserole which they throughly enjoyed. Highly recommended 😊

Booked for 17 people as a family member had travelled up from down south for his birthday. They brought their dog with them so needed somewhere dog friendly. Highly recommend Jackson’s Wharf. Every person enjoyed their meal, no complaints and a fab, efficient service. Used to come here years ago, will start coming again more often with our children and well behaved pooch. Thank you.

Food normally great. Tonight diabolical waitress not even bothered or apologetic couldn't care less. Which is a shame as we are regulars. Perhaps not anymore.
