The Grand Hotel in Hartlepool

I stayed at this hotel as part of a Royal Navy reunion and we could not have picked a better hotel. The rooms are clean and tidy, the food is excellent and the staff absolutely brilliant. As soon as we arrived we were made very welcome and throughout the weekend the staff went out of their way to deal with any requests. There were 33 people in our group and everyone enjoyed their stay. We'll be back.

We checked into The Grand and were pleasantly surprised by how modern and fresh it felt. We were given a second room free of charge as the three person room we had booked could not comfortably sleep three adults. The hotel is very modern and has been recently refurbished. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and have all the amenities one would expect. Only downside to the room was that our shower wasn’t the most powerful. The bar and dining area were very open and welcoming with a comfortable, trendy feel. Breakfast was a fairly basic full English buffet with a selection of cereals, tea and coffee. My scrambled eggs had been left out too long so had become rubbery and tough. The choice of music on offer wasn’t in keeping with the tone of the place or the time of day. We entered the dining room to a mixture of rap, grime and clubland classics played at an uncomfortably loud volume. The same thing went for the bar the previous evening. The young staff appeared to be too busy chatting and on their phone back of house to take much notice of the sheer volume of the ‘00’s classics’ playlist that they had on. It was so loud that it was uncomfortable and we decided against staying for a drink. These are the only downsides to the stay. Other staff couldn’t have been more friendly or accommodating.

Not been for a while as it closed in lockdown.The placehas been refurbished our room was fantastic with jacuzzi huge room and the usual tea coffee biccys etc.We ate in the restaurant underneath its perfect for shopping at middleton grange just across the road not far to walk into town.

TV doesn't work, can't reach window to open for fresh air, and in a rough area. Restaurant is Indian, which makes for little choice for those adverse to spice and heat in food, no other restaurants in walking distance, not that you'd want to walk around the area at night. The staff are lovely, and other than the faults mentioned the single room I was in suited my business travel needs almost perfectly - desk, chair, plenty of sockets, iron and ironing board, although I did have to tether my work laptop to my phone due to poor Wi-Fi signal. Great for male travellers, may be a bit unnerving for single female travellers.

Booked into this hotel with high hopes of getting a comfortable room. We were not disappointed . In room 315 on the top floor, the room was huge with a large bed, full length bath and shower over the bath. Tea,coffee and an electric kettle to make cuppas at our convenience. Bar downstairs so you don't have to leave the building. Light,bright and airy the only issue was the current building site over the road, but that will improve with time.

Tlc needed Windows require replacing or very much looked at still requiring more work doing someone really should do a better snaging list and also look up at ceilings .heating in rooms not enough and bathroom requires heated towel rail As above more needs going but looks like the hotel is trying hard to bring it back up to standard keep going it should look good when overall finished off

Hotel had to cancel our original booking due to a fire in building opposite, they rebooked for 3 weeks later and put the price off our room as a bar tab to apologise. Cannot fault this hotel, that's now under new owners, only hope the people of hartlepool embrace it and realise what an eyesore it became when empty. We will be back soon, so much better and on par in price with the budget hotels nearby.

Amazing stay at the Grand Hotel last night. Had the most amazing suite - room 104 - jacuzzi bath, two huge beds and plenty of room to just unwind and relax. The staff were absolutely amazing, check in were brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. We had planned to eat out elsewhere but the weather put a stop to that and we are glad it did! We had a lovely three course meal in the Restaurant at the hotel and nothing was too much trouble for our waiter, Jordan, who was brilliant. Very attentive and overall a good host. Already looking at our next booking!

As I’d reserved a single room I didn’t know what to expect but my rooms were first class. Very clean and well designed. The furnishings were first class and the bed was very comfortable. The only problem I had was the shower, as I have arthritis in my hands the controls were very difficult to turn and adjust. Apart from that small problem I enjoyed my stay. The seagulls wake up early but I’d brought ear plugs.

Upon arrival in Hartlepool we passed hotel and ended up not knowing where we were in the town. Phoned hotel who then gave directions to car park opposite hotel - £3 for 24 hrs, however, this expires at midnight and assumes you've been there from 1201 not 1700-not ideal leaving hotel at midnight in jim jams to pay for new ticket. Was told it was ok to park in council car park after 6pm as long as we were out before 0830 next morning! Room basic but you only need a bed, bedside tables & wardrobe to hang clothes. Kettle, tea & coffee, bics provided. Huge lamp shade hanging from ceiling with a 20 watt bulb in it! Even with all other lamps switched on the room was extremely dull-when you have to put your slap on girls this is not ideal! Bug issue with water supply in bathroom. Shower - scalding, unable to adjust temperature as cold water pressure non existent. Breakfast ok, however had to ask for semi skimmed milk which I got on day 2☹ staff all very nice but feel for them as they're all trying to make up for patrons disappointment.

Came here for a wedding for two friends and stayed over. For the wedding part of the day it was 5*’s amazing food and drink. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. The accommodation side was 1 star. Hence my overall rating. Having booked up a room months ago I rang up recently to confirm and they had me down as 1 person staying. This was changed on the booking. The room was shabby and small with a 3/4 size bed in it. The light didn’t work and there was wallpaper hanging off the wall. We asked to be moved but were told no other rooms were available. Mentioned the size of the bed to the receptionist on check out and was given a 25% refund however we should never of been allocated what was a single room for two guests. Breakfast was poor - was severed till 10 and we came down at 9.30 everything had obviously been sat out on the warmer. The bacon was hard and inedible and everything looked dried up.

Lovely hotel, great check in service from the lovely receptionist. Great location. General cleanliness of the hotel could be improved but wasn’t an issue as the room was clean. Shower was abit awkward to use, and our main light in the room didn’t work but that didn’t affect our stay as we used the generous amount of lamps that were around the room. Will return at a future date.

Stayed last night - first thing to notice is this is old style key entry! Our lock wasn’t quite stiff so took a few moments to get into the room. Upon entry the room was incredibly basic. Outdated brown (dirty carpets) and curtains with rips in. Old bottle of Budweiser was left on top of the wardrobe. Basic bathroom - with bath and shower - towels not large enough. Bed was ok - large king size - a good nights sleep. As this hotel is on a main road and next to the local nightlife it is quite loud with people shouting most of the night and emergency services vehicles constantly going past the hotel most of the night. £50 for our room and I would not have paid any more.

Not a good experience had no hot water on one day no water whatsoever on the next it was a joke and uncomfortable the staff just did not know what to say or do ,I felt for them.

I am not happy with this Hotel as even though I had already paid and showed them evidence, they said that it wasn't in their system so I had to pay again and was left to sort it all out when I returned home. I feel as if they do not value thier customers as they knew I had already paid but still let me return home to sort it out.

Fantastic service at The Grand Hotel Hartlepool. Is it the most modern up to date boutique hotel ? No BUT it’s spacious, nostalgic & is currently being ran by a dedicated & professional team. Highly recommended Wedding Venue they literally cannot do enough for you, & like all Grand old ladies she scrubs up well. Great Place.

Popped in here to have a lunchtime drink. Set back in a 'Grand' way up a few steps you would expect a reasonable entrance. Unfortunately this was just a standing platform for the daily smokers to cough and wretch: a typical site that some establishments have learned to manage. A disappointing lack of local beers in the large front bar. In a way this reminded me of that dreadful large hotel in Scarborough that gets some shocking reviews

Hotel itself is ok. Rooms are large and the hotel is in the centre of town. Parking is horrible. Previous stays we were given a note for to put in the car to inform the traffic officers that we were guests of the hotel however, this time round in April 2018 there was no pass given at check in as we were told it was now done electronically and was asked for our car reg number to input to their system. Duely done we were then aghast to discover a parking charge notice left on our car when we went to depart on the Sunday morning. We went back into the hotel to complain to be told that that shouldn't have happened and our car details was definitely on the system. The lady at the reception desk told us not to worry and she will email her manager to rectify the error. Fast forward to today for us to have a letter informing us the parking charge hasn't been paid the the parking company after money from us. Hotel has been contacted regarding this only for us to be told there is nothing they can do and to contact the parking charge company. Absolutely terrible customer service. Point to the story. Don't stay here if you have a car!!!

Booked a night here in May via Trivago for £60. The stay was fine as it is a nice hotel but 3 weeks later The Grand Hotel took £75 from my account without my consent or any communication whatsoever. When I queried this with the hotel they said there had been a problem with the booking on Trivago and that they had the right to dip into my account for the full amount (the room was reduced to £60 when we booked). This is nothing short of theft as we provided proof of payment when we checked into the hotel and this was accepted as per normal check-in procedure. This is now in dispute as my bank have agreed that The Grand Hotel have acted unlawfully but it may take some time to be refunded.

Visiting friend and family in the north east it’s been ten years since my last stay and thing are defiantly better than the other places I’ve visited nice restaurant onsite and friendly staff

First room checked into was well below par bed was awful the decor was horrible and the room felt like we had been put in maintenence cupboard when brought my concerns to manger they just made excuses and they where quite blunt thinking of staying in Hartlepool don't stay at the grand you can get better room for your money at any other hotel / travel lodge bath filthy

Been here loads the rooms are great big and well done out. The bars are nice there is a good sports bar and the Christmas nights are good.

Yo era parte de un grupo de 27 que hizo aquí para una comida. El servicio era excelente y la comida de Navidad que tuve fue la mejor que he comido este año. El tamaño de la porción era adecuada porque no tienes tureens. Más salsa estaba disponible bajo petición.

En su día (unos 100 años), estoy seguro de que era el gran. Es un poco cansado. Parece las habitaciones eran última pasaron en el 1990. Lámpara retro super tonos si te gusta. El desayuno es muy bueno y el personal es servicial y acogedor. Limpio y básico. Buena ubicación céntrica.

Este hotel era precioso y la habitación en la que me alojé era grande y espaciosa. La decoración era moderna, ordenado, limpio y ordenado. We stayed at this hotel came all the way from Essex, paid £70 a night to have a toilet that didn't flush, hair from previous people in the bath, when we told reception she simply said OK I'll get someone to look at it, not move us or apologise, then in the morning we went for breakfast to watch the waitress lay tables whilst having all her knives and forks on the floor talk about health and hygiene , I would not recommend this hotel to any one

Teníamos una encantadora habitación grande, que tenía un enorme cama, que era muy cómoda, la habitación tenía todas las comodidades que puedas necesitar, té, café, chocolate caliente, galletas, secador de pelo, plancha, tabla de planchar, incluso un ventilador calentador si hacía demasiado frío. La habitación era muy amplia, y tenía una decoración moderna. El desayuno era genial, con desayuno caliente completo a la orden, fruta fresca, cereales y mucho más, era muy sabroso. También hay un bar con muy razonable hotel pricesthe es central y está a sólo 5 minutos del puerto deportivo. La ducha no muy caliente, pero en general, una estancia excelente.

Booked for an overnight for a funeral. Despite three attempts to get breahfast, the staff failed to deliver before we had to leave. When complaining we god a shrug of shoulders from reception. A letter to the manager did not get a response!

Me sentí como si estuviera en un ganado Mart. Esperando en el personal sólo parecía confundido , desorganizado. cola de bar donde se sirven bebidas enormes cálido tuvimos que tomar su copa volver cada vez que queríamos beber. De ahí a decir que me fui a casa a las 9.30 . Bien de comida para ser justos que he tenido peores y con la cantidad de gente que hay en con tapiales masificada producidos. Por £45.00 por una comida de tres platos y un bar gratuito que no estaba (bebida cubiertas ) no ver entretenimiento ya que a través de la toalla y fui a casa . Creo que si vas a hacer esas noches que necesitas tener mejores habilidades organizativas . Menos es más. , he dicho suficiente calidad por sobre la cantidad.

Bien. Fue el 1940, se espera que este era un gran hotel. Por desgracia se ve no decorar, reformas o mejoras desde entonces. Las habitaciones estaban viejas y gastadas, tablas del suelo chirriaba y las habitaciones estaban muy, muy caliente. Cama era cómoda y el desayuno estaba bien, pero sin duda será para evitar en el futuro.

Good choice of food including some very filling dishes like Mince and Dumplings (recommended by the way), reasonable prices and a better than reasonable service.

Me alojé aquí durante un viaje de negocios en la zona y me sorprendió gratamente después de mi última estancia aquí (ver reseña). Sin embargo, en la primera habitación que me dieron, fi a la conexión no funcionaba. Informé el problema y se trasladó a una habitación donde Internet wi estaba bien. La habitación era agradable y espaciosa; la cama era cómoda y la ducha era sin duda una mejora en la última vez aunque todavía no muy potente.

Asistimos a una noche tributo, este es nuestro segundo de ellos como muchos meses, en general, una buena noche la cantante hizo un buen trabajo las comidas era encantador. Las habitaciones están impecables y cómodas, el personal es muy amable y servicial no me puedo quejar en absoluto. Muy buena relación calidad-precio

Fuimos para una comida con los niños tras esposa terminado el trabajo.

Fuimos un grupo de amigos. Reservamos la comida para las 18:00 y me dijeron que habíamos reservado para 8 pm cuando llegamos. Nos equivocábamos . Finalmente se sienten en 6,30 por indiferente camarera. Esperamos durante media hora para empezar que en la justicia eran muy agradables y sabroso. Esperamos hasta las 8.30 para platos principales. Ninguna señal de cualquier - del personal que me tenía que ir a buscar a alguien que una jarra de agua. La comida era deliciosa y buen tamaño aparte de un amigo que tenía el bistec - ella lo describió como mmm duro y cartílago ... bonito. Ella no quería quejarse y nadie del personal pidió de todos modos. La camarera parecía que les molestaba que algunos del grupo quería postres y pedimos café ... no es ofrecido por el personal. En resumen, buena comida, una larga espera entre platos.

We went in for a meal there was four of us. Our main courses were terrible and tasted burnt. Very disappointed I know the resturaunt closes on sunday but this is no excuse for such a bad service

Estaba buscando un restaurante por un tiempo de té comida con la familia para mis hijos 30 así que queríamos un lugar familiar y un sitio también selecta a un precio razonable donde mi madre me gusta como ella simplemente le gusta la comida inglesa. Había 11 de nosotros y no reservar hasta el día antes, me aconsejaron cuando llamé a Ring volver con las órdenes, así que no tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para nuestra comida pero no tienen tiempo para organizarlo. La comida era excelente, el servicio era genial, el camarero y camarera era muy profesional, amable y agradable. Mi sobrino me dieron un sombrero de chefs y hizo su propia pizza que disfrutó. Mi madre tenía coujons de pescado y no podía comer todos ellos pero ella disfrutamos mucho que les pidió una caja para llevarlas a casa. Además, mi sobrino me dieron una caja para tomar su casa de pizza en ya no podía comer todo. Todos disfrutamos nuestras comidas y volvería otra vez y lo recomendaría a mis amigos.

Stayed at the hotel for a wedding in April. Room was absolutely gorgeous. Food was amazing and really good value for money. Staff could not do enough for us. Would definitely recommend this hotel and restaurant :-)

Reservamos una mesa en la noche del sábado después de recibir una oferta de texto como plato principal bogof. El restaurante estaba bastante concurrido, todo el personal era muy amable, especialmente el gerente que nos enseñó mi hijo de 7 años un par de "linternas mágicas" trucos.

It was more conducive to families with children which was what we were looking for. However we returned on our own and were still impressed.

El servicio es fantástico y Turgut y el personal son más que serviciales y te hace tiempo allí especial. Un lugar estupendo para comer con un fantástico ambiente y buena comida y precios baratos, he estado en otros restaurantes en Hartlepool sirve cocina similar, pero la Grand Central tiene un mejor ambiente y una sensación agradable y mejor calidad.

Recientemente me vinieron a este restaurante después de que nos dijeron sobre la magnífica comida y el precio. no me decepcionó con la comida, ya que era precioso y todos disfrutamos. El restaurante nefasto y evitaría como de la peste.

Uno de los mejores cena es que he tenido en mucho tiempo, el personal era genial (gerente nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos a la llegada) nos dio la madre es un vaso de vino, que era un buen toque. de 6 personas todos tuvimos cosas diferentes del menú y no tenemos ninguna queja. periodo de tiempo entre los campos era perfecto, no como algunos lugares a los que ir que no puede ir a la puerta lo suficientemente rápido.

Hemos estado en el restaurante para el día de la Madre. La comida era deliciosa e incluso un plato para nuestro hijo, que no estaba en la lista del menú. El servicio era genial, los niños fueron atendidas y la comida se servía el personal muy agradable. Volveremos sin duda volveremos. Gracias por una gran comida!

Went for mothers day lunch. Three course for £15, well worth the money. Staff were very friendly and helpful and great atmosphere, would definitely recommend and will visit again

I work just down the road from this restaurant and we occasionally have a little staff get-together after work - five or six people usually, sometimes we pre-book, other times not, but we've always had a table big enough for our party (you would need to book a table at busy times of year for sure).

Great quantity and quality of food not so great service. Had to ask for sauce twice as they failed to bring it. Ordered chicken as an extra on the pasta and it came without.

Visitamos la Grand Central para una cena de cumpleaños con la familia. Cuando llegamos, nos sentamos cerca de la puerta y cuando le preguntamos si podíamos cambiar asientos el camarero se disculpó y rápidamente nos organizó y otra mesa para nosotros. restaurante estaba lleno, ya que fue un fin de semana, pero esta no parar el excepcional servicio al cliente ofrecido por el personal. La comida era precioso, dieron la noche fijo y valió la pena cada céntimo. También tenía un cantante en directo ya que comimos lo que fue un detalle encantador a la atmósfera. Nunca he tenido una mala experiencia en este restaurante. Un favorito para toda la familia y una visita obligada si no ha estado antes.

Mi esposa y yo tuvimos una comida de 3 platos aquí en 2014 FEB. La comida era excelente y volveremos sin duda. Nos alojamos en el hotel por la noche y cena se incluyó como parte del paquete for an additional £10 - £5 por cada 3 platos. Absolutamente excelente relación calidad-precio, y no me puedo quejar del servicio.

Conocimos a amigos en vez de té y nos las arreglamos para conseguir la mesa libre pasada, tuvimos suerte ya que era un viernes por la noche y la habitación pronto llenos.

Éramos un grupo de 8 y nos alojamos en el hotel. Teníamos el desayuno y el almuerzo en el restaurante y las dos veces que hemos estado era realmente genial. Tanto los camareros y los chefs de la cocina deben ser felicitados. Incluso nos acomodaron nuestra solicitud de gluten comida gratis. Siempre me voy a este restaurante de ahora en adelante y lo recomendaré a todos mis amigos y familia

Fuimos al gran restaurante central como el menú tenía buena pinta. Una vez dentro nos recibió un espeluznante camarero que parecen haber poca idea sobre lo que estaba ocurriendo. Pedimos una mesa para dos en el restaurante vacío. Nos dirigimos a sentarse en una mesa con 8 o 9 damas para un cumpleaños, en la zona de bar.él tomó nuestra orden de bebidas y lugar de poner en la pestaña como pedimos intentó hacernos pagar. Así que nuevamente le explicamos que pagar por todo una vez que habíamos comido. 20 minutos, chicas dieron más animadillo y ninguna señal de cualquiera que vaya a tomar nuestra orden. Fui al bar para pedir mi comida sólo para ser informado que no pude pedir allí y que sólo podía pedir a la mesa que estaría lista en 15 minutos. Seguro que decir que no variaba esperar, nuestras bebidas consumidos y la izquierda.

Este es el restaurante del Grand Hotel, anteriormente conocido como Tavistock Italia, luego como Parmos. ahora ha sido dado una renovación de estilo de Frankie y Benny, y ofrece carnes, hamburguesas, pollo, fajitas, pizzas, etc. hemos estado dos veces en semanas recientes para aprovechar las ofertas especiales por reserva anticipada muy competitivos precios razonables de aves - 2 platos por alrededor de £8.
