Only popped in for a drink but glad we stayed for food they asked us about Sunday dinner but we opted for 2 smash burgers, jalapeño cream cheese and chicken wings, all food was very very tasty especially the smash burgers, the lady serving was lovely and friendly I definitely recommend a meal hear!

Went for a coffee late morning Sunday 29th September. £2.49 to park, not the bars fault. Ordered 2 coffees which were brought to the table fairly quickly by a friendly enough lad. Unfortunately they weren't very hot. The manager or owner then turned up (white Cayenne) and she stood in the entrance shouting across the room for someone to try switches for a light over the entrance. This went on a few minutes. We drained our cups of the cold coffee and had to squeeze past 3 of them to get out, no-one managed a thank you or goodbye. Poor experience from an unprofessional outfit, we won't be back.

Me and my friends and my little dog have visited The Black Olive for over a year on a Sunday for lunch. My dog Bella is always very behaved apart from when we are going to leave she barks but I always quickly leave the pub. Today when we arrived for dinner the staff member on duty asked us to leave and said Bella was no longer welcome in due to a customer complaining last week about her barking. The bar states it’s a dog friendly bar. To be honest the place is never full and I thought the bar would welcome our custom because they are often 4 or 5 of us all getting lunch. I felt embarrassed today being asked to leave but that’s ok because we went to another bar which welcomed our custom. I’ve always been a customer who’s recommended The Black Olive but that won’t be the case anymore

Plenty parking, paid by an irritating app.(not Black Olives fault). Doesn't look much from outside but has oudoor seating. Once Inside it's quite large and beautifully done out. Even the gents toilets are something special. Breakfast was until 1pm and we arrived at 4 minutes to 1. We had 3 full English and 1 had vegetarian breakfast which were hot tasty and beautifully cooked. The vegetarial one had veggy sausages (the one with a line of mayo on it) and at a very good price. Fast friendly service. It has a very good menu selection including a childrens menu section. all at reasonable prices and is worth a visit See pictures

Decided to go here instead of usual Cafe Rapport and glad we did the Food was lovely, hot and good portion size. The staff very helpful, professional and nice manner. This place doesn't get enough praise its really worth a visit. Make sure you don't forget to pay online for parking though!

Called in today and lovely food and service defo coming back and the best parmo I’ve ever had easy 5 stars 🌟

Gorgeous food, fab service, good vibe about the place staff were all super friendly & happy to help would defo recommend if your down the marina next time we visit I'll be leaving the car at home as the cocktails looked unreal

Excellent breakfast at lunch time lol. Bacon a little hard but otherwise an excellent meal and coffee for £6.50. Friendly staff and nice and quiet which I prefer. A+++

Great place to enjoy a pint or grab some food. I live really close by, so it is a convenient spot to come to. Staff are always friendly, too.

Had a lovely bank holiday Monday drink here today. Was served by Jack who made THE BEST frozen tequila rose cocktail and was super helpful! Would definitely recommend visiting and sitting outside to enjoy some sunshine.

£31 for something we could have made at home for half the price :( fajita chicken was very under seasoned as were the chips, dips were cheap stuff from a bottle (garlic mayo and sweet chilli) and there was missing items, also there was no toilet roll in 3 of the stalls. Good portions but average food, however the server was lovely and the pints and cocktails were nice, overall I'd say it's good for drinks but a bit overpriced for what you get

Came in for the first time and was greeted with a friendly member of staff, we then ordered the parmo and the fajita parmo and all I can say is wow! We loved every bit even the salad ( which I normally wouldn't touch the salad) it was very well presented and tasted even better , I could only eat half but I was given a box so I can enjoy it all over again tomorrow. We have eaten at alot of other place's and had parmo but this was by far the best yet?

The food here is amazing and fantastic value for money. The staff are all very friendly and always on hand to help. Will definitely be visiting again on my next trip to Hartlepool

Went in Wednesday night for drinks & Thursday morning for breakfast special £6.50 in the week for a full breakfast hot & freshly cooked tea /coffee included. Excellent breakfast , very friendly staff , clean toilets , Thanks we will call again :-)

Nice place, great food and lovely staff who were very helpful and accommodating. Would certainly recommend whether it's for an afternoon or evening meal or a place to sample some cocktails - their cocktail menu was quite extensive. There is plenty of parking spaces nearby although we did have to pay for the parking... It was roughly £4 for four hours.

We went for a walk along the marina and found the black olive we had seen that they had a new menu and decided we would give it a try had the parmo platter and it was massive well worth the money had a choice of 5 parmo toppings we couldn’t finish it so we were offered to take it home boxed up the service was amazing and we will definitely return

Excellent service and staff were very welcoming to my family. The food was spot on we had a sharing platter and it was lovely a bit of everything. Child friendly and a warm atmosphere. We will definitely be returning soon!! The manager even came over to check everything was good!

We visited the black olive today to try out the new menu, we certainly didn’t come away disappointed, my partner who can only be described as a fussy eater ordered the salt and pepper chicken. She described it as being the best food she has eaten in a long time. The curry sauce accompanying this dish is made in house and is absolutely amazing.the staff are brilliant and we will always be returning here

Absolutely one of the best if not the best places to eat in Hartlepool,we dine regularly in the black olive and can't rate this place highly enough,the food is delicious and freshly cooked to order using first class ingredients,it boasts an extensive menu catering for all dietary requirements and the chefs are always happy to tweak dishes to your liking. The black olive has a warm and welcoming interior that offers a great experience for either dining with families or a group of friends, the manager and staff are super friendly and go that extra mile to make sure you have the best experience.

Excellent service by Dan and the team today for the bottomless brunch. Tasted black pudding for the first time and it was amazing. Food was more than nice and much more than enough. Cocktails were Amazing. Service quick and super friendly. Love the North! Will be back for a DJ’d bottomless lunch /afternoon tea in march/April (if they are lucky 😉) Thanks again, as we are about to stumble out of the door back to the hotel! DJ E-KLARE DJ BUBBLEY

I Have been in to Black Olive a few times for Sunday Dinner since they started doing them, and I have to say they are the best I have had for a long time and I will defiantly be back again soon! If you haven't tried them yourself yet, I would highly recommend you do.

Nice breakfast. We visited again on an early evening , it was very quiet but there drinks and service was nice. This should be a thriving area of Hartlepool, but the council has decided to make it expensive to park there.

Wanted some lunch while at the Marina so thought we’d try here. Interiors lovely, friendly service. Food was delicious, loaded fries were great, chicken sandwich was full of thick chicken, onion rings were huge with lovely batter. Deffo a lovely surprise!

First time visit and excellent choice. Great all round and a great parmo at a great price, will definitely be back.

What a fantastic find, came here with my partner the parmo’s where stunning. Cocktails where amazing too! The manager Dan was so welcoming, he was telling us he is new to the bar, he made so much effort with everyone who walked in. We will 100% be coming back.

We went to the black olive today to try one of there famous breakfasts and we weren’t disappointed I can honestly say it was one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time the sausages and bacon were so tasty and the eggs were cooked perfectly service was 10/10 and the staff and new management were so friendly and knowledgeable would highly recommend this place 12/10 review from me

Had the hot shot parmo, was delicious, homemade chunky chips with skin on. The parmesan had a nice warming glow, with a nice cheese that came through so you could taste it all. To date, I would rate it one of the best I have had. Staff are friendly and considerate, and I will definitely be coming back to try something else. Atmosphere, it wasn't busy but had nice music playing.

The food and service was excellent. The prices are really good for the menu items and the food was delicious and well presented. The Interior is always a delight to see and the venue is very clean and inviting. 10/10... well done

Perfect adapted full English breakfast

First visit. Friendly staff, food didn't take long and was nice. Toilets clean. Queuing at bar was a challenge as no system & some people (men) pushed in front, squeezing through and getting served before others who waiting longer (including me). Cocktails also nice.

Lovely welcome for my first time here. Prices not bad, service great, food as close to perfect as you can get. It really is the same in real life as it is in the fab photos. I will deffo come here again.

Gorgeous decor, beautiful crockery, lovely friendly staff and nice food too. We took the kids and they were made to feel very welcome too.

The staff were amazing and really friendly and welcoming as always, food was delicious all freshly cooked and the chef even came out to check we were happy with everything and talk through the produce with us which was a really nice personal touch ! Everything is fairly priced and too too it off to our surprise it was 50% off when we attended! We will definitely be back all round 5 star service. Even boxed the meat up for us to take home for the dog so wagging tails all round ! :’)

Returned to my hometown of Hartlepool with my husband and adult kids and their partners. Organized a family and friends get together with the help of Jacqui Hart at the Black Olive. Had the VIP room which is lovely and private and perfect for a large group. We had about 23 people but there was lots of room for more. We had ordered the cold buffet which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. They also have a great range of cocktails along with the regular bar drinks. Dealt with Jacqui mostly by email from Canada but she was there during our event and couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Her staff were all lovely too. Highly recommend The Black Olive !!

We ordered a sharing board with chunky chips, garlic bread chicken bits and onion rings. The chunky chips were lovely but everything else was disappointing reminded me of a fast food restaurant. The service was also good.

The Family visited a few days ago and the staff were amazing!! We came for food and a few drinks and staff were happy to help, sadly didn’t catch their names but the young girl with glasses was super helpful and made sure to warn us about plates being hot and used a towel to bring the food over to make sure that she never touched anything (I find this to be a great way) food was amazing 100% will visit again when we are in hartlepool next!

We went to Black Olive because we fancied a pub grub breakfast but it was sooooo much better than a Spoons. The sausages are fantastic quality, not like the ones you get on most pub breakfasts. Not normally bothered about mushrooms but they were gorgeous...

Really good homemade chips. I have tryed hotshot parmo and normal parmo, today the burger all been really good. I have tryed breakfast full English wasn't worth it for me as I halfed the breakfast size. sausage, black pudding wasn't the best quality hash browns needed longer. bacon was lovely very good quality. eggs over cooked should offer a small breakfast 1 bacon, hash brown, 1 egg, half tomatoes, bean, toast, good sausage for £7 I would go back for breakfast . Eggs Benedict taste great cooked well better the the lock gates but eggs let it down not perfect in between just over cooked one ran one hard. It's a nice little place. I can never eat it all its massive so I am looking forward to trying the kids meal.
