We have recently discovered a gem of a place, tucked out of the way in Coal Aston near Dronfield. The Magic Sunflower is a plant based eatery, fronted by Julie and Mark. They are totally focussed on providing the best food with the best service and they have created a heart-warming and welcoming space. It genuinely feels that they care about each and every meal they serve. I have had a plant-based diet for over 30 years and this is the best restaurant I have eaten in. The mains are mainly salad based and there is usually a 'special', currently mac and cheese. The salads are all great, simply zinging with health. The food feels like you are nurturing and respecting your body with beautiful flavours. My partner who is vegetarian loves the tofu scramble which could be described as a plant based all day breakfast. It includes roasted mushrooms and tomatoes, garlicky spinach and small roast potatoes as well as the scrambled tofu. There are a number of bread and toast and flatbread options. The cakes are amazing and we notice that many of their customers linger for coffee and cake or take a cake home after their meal.

Visited Coffee Central on a recommendation from a friend and we loved it. The owners were welcoming and friendly, the background music was gentle and relaxing and the food was excellent. We both had the 3 egg omelette with ham, tomato and cheese which came with salad, coleslaw and crisps. The omelette was the best I've had for a long time and the salad was not just the usual garnish you get in most places but a full salad full of fresh and varied items. Food very well presented. The 2 lattes we had with the meal were a very nice blend of coffee as well. Thoroughly recommend.

Lovely little pub in our local area. This was the first time we visited as it used to have a bad reputation but the new landlord has completely turned it around. Pool table, Clean, cheap, and dog friendly, what more could we ask for? Both our dogs got a treat to take home on their first visit too!

Cafe and small motorcycle museum in one. A bit hidden away, but if you're a motorcycling buff, it's worth hunting it out. Admission free, it's part museum and part shop as it seems everything is for sale. The bikes are in concourse condition, thanks to the enthusiastic couple who now own the place. The cafe does an excellent breakfast, along with cakes and other edible treats. There is no car park and on street parking is limited, but the street wasn't busy the day we were there. I'd certainly revisit.

I had mussels as a starter. 5 mussels in a lumpy fairly tasteless tomato sauce. Ok but nothing special. My wife’s slow cooked blade of beef was stunning but my lamb was a bit tough and tasteless. One of my friends asked for mussels as a main course and I understand she got the same as my starter but was charged twice as much as she had it as a main. Personally I wouldn’t have paid the extra. I don’t drink alcohol but enjoy Guinness Zero. The choice of alcohol free beer for me was very poor so I drank water. The staff were fine but who I assume is either the owner or manager was a bit curt. If you are over about 5’8” watch your head. Altogether a bit disappointed after having read some of the other reviews.

Friendly welcome & comfortable inside seating. We called for a nice pot of tea & not disappointed. Big tea pot, extra hot water, & only £2.20 for two people. Good menu offered. Home cooked food. Farm shop small but has a good selection of fresh veg & assorted home made pies.
