Dronfield Hall Barn-Dine at the Barn in North East Derbyshire

Lovely No fireworks bonfire event. We were expecting a little more from the light show. It was a short film/ different lights protected onto the wall. But my daughter enjoyed doing the craft and walking around the fairy garden!

We took our grandkids to see the light show witch was poor sound poor lots of children got bored

I don't visit Dronfield Barn. So I'm not able to review it.

I went to a wedding yesterday 26/10/24 and the whole day was amazing, run smoothly, best food I’ve ever had at a wedding and the bar staff were top notch, so friendly! Loved this beautiful place!

Nice food and lovely coffee but service was a bit slow.

Having read previous reviews my wife and I called in for a coffee and scone. We had a very warm welcome from Debbie who was most helpful in getting us served as we only had a short time and a large group was being served. The whole place had a lovely feel and the quality of the food looked really good. Our fruit scone was lovely . We shall certainly return when next in Dronfield.

My wife and I had afternoon tea here last week. The setting was beautiful in this historic building and the food was lovely! We chose the savoury version which included one of the house specialities, cheese scones -,best we’ve ever tasted! Sandwiches and other savouries were all lovely, beautifully presented and with exceptional service. There is lovely atmosphere in The Barn with nearly every table occupied and friends catching up over a cuppa and cake or a full meal. Would definitely recommend and will certainly call in on a regular basis .

This is a lovely place - very welcoming, with indoor and outdoor seating - the garden is very well tended by volunteers. The food is excellent, and I c n really recommend the cherry scones amd the blondies - scones are made on the premises. You cant go wrong!

£8.50 for a coffee and a cake is ridiculous. Not overly friendly. I understand places having to charge more for bills, labour etc but that is silly!!

Family and friends of Dee and John enjoyed celebrating their 80th birthdays in the Gallery at Dronfield Hall barn. Nothing was too much trouble for Olivia, Andrea, Alison and their staff from arranging the day, deciding on and preparing the hot buffet menu and serving the guests. The celebration cake was perfect, tasteful and tasty. Everyone had a lovely afternoon. Thank you.

Lovely welcoming cafe in a beautiful and peaceful location. The food is great and the staff are friendly and helpful. The cheese scones are particularly delicious.

We married here in April 2023. The setting was perfect helped by the lovely weather. Planning a wedding can be very stressful but Olivia the wedding planner takes the stress away, she is kind helpful reliable and very good at her job. The wedding food choices are extensive, the food and service is superb. It is a wonderful location with wonderful staff who all helped to make our day perfect.

Lovely little place with beautiful surroundings . Really friendly staff and the food is top quality . Only small so it does get full inside but plenty of seating outside in the gorgeous garden area . We'll worth a visit .

The Barn never disappoints! We've enjoyed wedding receptions, musical evenings and afternoon tea events here as well as dropping by for coffee and cake! A wide range of tasty gluten free food is available and always meticulously and carefully served. This is a huge bonus for me as i'm coeliac. Our latest visit was to the superb Burns Night Bistro event. After a warm and friendly welcome we were treated to whisky punch, canapés, a delicious three course meal.. and a Scottish piper to pipe in the haggis. As always the food and friendly attentive service were first class! A huge thank you to everyone involved!

We chose this venue for our wedding in April 2023. The day was perfect from start to finish. After we booked the venue we had the support and guidance from Olivia the wedding planner who was available for all the questions we had. The weather was lovely the gardens coming into bloom was the perfect back drop for photographs. We booked canapés a meal for 50 then an evening buffet. The food was superb with many favourable comments from our guests. Without exception all staff worked extremely hard to make our day perfect and our guests happy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue for weddings or special occasions.

A quaint little cafe tucked away on the High St

A lunch get together with friends. Fish dish and quiche were really enjoyable. The tuna sandwiches were not the easiest to eat and maybe I should have asked not to have red onion, there was a lot!! Service great

We booked Dronfield Hall Barn to celebrate my wife's 80th birthday with family, friends and neighbours. Although we have visited for coffee on several occasions and knew the Barn and gardens well this was our first booking but will not be our last. The evening and arrangements were superb thanks to the planning with Olivia and service from the excellent staff. Everyone had a great evening and commented favourably about the Barn and buffet. We run a ladies networking group and hold our meetings at the Dronfield Hall Barn monthly. The customer service is excellent. Today they hosted our Christmas Lunch. The food was delicious and the service excellent as usual. They decorated the tables and room beautifully which was a lovely touch. Definitely a place to visit.

After opening 10 min late and having us with 2 babies waiting outside under the rain not even an apology. We left not to come back

We had our wedding in October 2023 and it was fabulous. Olivia is amazing and made sure the day ran as it should. Olivia also helped us with any problems that arose and was very accommodating. We had a fantastic experience and will be coming back to the cafe as customers to reminisce.

We visit every week for lunch with a great variety of freshly made food, especially the soups and salads. The cakes are so tempting though! The outside area is perfect in the nicer weather, or the inside is lovely and cosy!

We were very fortunate to get tickets for the recent collaboration between the Barn and The Cricket Inn in Totley. Wow, the beautiful venue complimented the incredible food! I'm not sure that I have enough adjectives to describe the 8 taster courses that we were treated to. It was some of the best food I have ever eaten and better than some taster menus that are three times the price. From the warm welcome as we arrived, to the delicious coffee at the end of the meal the staff could not have been more attentive. We felt really looked after and the introduction to each course got our mouths watering before we even had a taste. Outstanding!! I could not recommend this fantastic experience enough, it is a dream team!!

Had a lovely cuppa at the Barn this morning and treated myself to a sausage sandwich which was delicious! Such a welcoming team in the coffee shop and really nice to chat to the gardeners who make the grounds look beautiful! Nice to see an exhibition of local artists on too. Will definitely be back! We attended The Barns first Supper Club in collaboration with the chefs at The Cricket Inn and it was such a lovely evening. All 8 courses were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The flow of the evening could not have gone more smoothly, the food, company, service and atmosphere were just lovely. We would definitely go to another event here.

We love the barn as there is always so much on offer, and we weren't disappointed when we recently saw a performance by the Rhubarb Theatre, of Finding Chester. Not only did the show have a lovely message, it was fun, energetic, and full of laughter and songs! The actors and puppets were amazing! The barn provided the perfect cosy atmosphere for the show, and being able to buy drinks and snacks was fab (the chocolate brownie was yummy)! We hope there are lots more events like this at the barn in future, thank you x

I recently had a fantastic evening at a tasting event in the barn. Eight courses of delicious food! The barn's rustic vibe was perfect, and the staff were amazing and attentive. Excellent for coeliacs if you notify the team in advance. They were very clued up and ensured all dishes were adapted to suit and kept separate. Count me in for the next one!

Attended the tasting evening event In conjunction with the Cricket Inn. We were greeted with Prosecco and the tasting was seated upstairs. The food was absolutely amazing, every dish was explained on the menu and was fantastic. All the staff were knowledgeable about what was being served and as always were friendly and attentive. Had a fantastic night and will definitely be booking to go again

I attended a family Wedding at the Barn last Saturday, and I was so impressed from start to finish. The venue is stunning, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Andrea was great, not only on the day, but also extremely helpful whilst we were setting the room up on the Friday. I can't praise every part of the experience enough. Thank you

We had the most amazing wedding day . ! The venue is a perfect place for any special occasion, our friends and family have raved about it ever since, Olivia events organiser was amazing and was there for us wenever we needed her and she really made the day so special for us as she had everything under control, every little detail was covered, the whole barn experience was all we could have asked for, FABULOUS

Well where to begin.... It's over a week now since our wedding and we write to you and all your staff, in particular Olivia, whilst sat on a beach near Alicante after a fabulous 1500m road trip to reach here. May we therefore take this special moment on our honeymoon to personally thank Olivia and all her team for the most wonderful day that excelled our expectations in every single aspect. We truly expected a great day and everything to run to perfection of course, but it was so much more as well! The planning and organising was perfect, communicating as and when and allowing us both to feel assured that we were in good hands with Olivia at the helm. The Barn is a regular place we visit, so to see the transformation on the day itself was something which you should all be very proud of. The attention to detail is simply incredible and a credit to all involved in giving the venue its 'wow factor!' It was evident from the arrival of our guests who commented on the venue alone, that we were in for a truly unforgettable day. Then came the food!! Having worked for over 30 years in Catering myself, with functions of this type and more, I can honestly say that the canapés and the food throughoit was exceptionally good. So many positive comments were heard and we were delighted with the choices we made. The mini Yorkshire Puds and Lemon Meringues were to die for!! I personally went through to speak with the Chefs and thanked them for their efforts, but please ensure they read this email also, for our gratitude to them in making our day so special, food being a huge part of its success, is beyond words. Simply outstanding!!! It's a long day, buy the hard work and constant attentiveness to all that is happening makes it perfect. That is exactly what Olivia provided us with and we cannot even begin to thank her and the team for all they did to make our day so relaxed and enjoyable. We even got the weather! Every recommendation was great also, the Bar and Staff, the DJ and the Casino. So thank you, thank you, thank you, for all your efforts and hard work in making our special day even more special.

The cost of post pandemic baked (?) potatoes appears to have sky rocketed so had a panini with grilled (just) Halloumi served with the usual bits and bobs. Couldn't eat it all so asked for it to be wrapped. A staff member brought me some tin foil so I guess it was d.i.y. Perhaps should not have eaten the custard slice first. It's a lovely old barn but the conversion is a bit utility and lacking ambiance; the court yard is a much pleasanter space.

We attended a wedding here and the location, facilities and service were absolutely amazing. The food was fantastic and the staff were very attentive It was the perfect event in the perfect place!

Whilst visiting my granddaughter and great grandchildren We called in to Dronfield Hall Barn on the way to the library Food is amazing slightly expensive but still good food is That said For £2.50 my great granddaughter got to do some painting, made a bird feeder,, coloured and made a jigsaw and the the nice ladies took her on a scavenger hunt to find pictures of birds Amazing day and only £2.50 Pirates here next week

The barn hosted my daughters wedding at the weekend. It was a great choice. The upstairs room provided a very intimate and romantic setting for the ceremony and wedding breakfast. Food was superb and the canapes were a real hit. All staff were very pleasant and helpful and wedding planner, Olivia, helped run the event very smoothly. Highly recommended as a wedding venue.

Always a good visit to The Barn, the food is great especially the homemade soups and cakes! There is always something interesting going on, the Arts Festival was good fun, the kids enjoyed the circus in particular.

Lovely place but the burgers were a big no no. They tasted raw and were not cooked properly and tasted very disgusting 😕 Very disappointing. Cheap tasting burger.

Another amazing Arts Festival held/organised by the Barn. Great entertainment and the food and drinks were excellent as usual. Especially enjoyed the bar in the library 👍🏽

The good weather made the day but it was a perfect setting for a family member's wedding. The staff were excellent and chef provided an excellent array of food. The building itself was interesting, simply decorated but at the same time impressive.

We held our wedding here last weekend (13/05) and we couldn’t have found anywhere to better it. The venue and grounds were fantastic, but what really stood out was Olivia, the wedding coordinator, and the staff at the venue. In terms of attentiveness, levels of service and friendliness, they are first class, A special shout out to the caterers as well, as the food was superb. We received so many positive comments about the staff and the food,, from a huge number of guests on the day. I attended my brother's wedding here on 6th May, as best man. The barn in stunning and the staff are amazing. So attentive, polite and friendly. They approached my friends and family and chatted to us all. The food and presentation was beautiful. I would recommended visiting here, even if it's for tea and cake in the day time

An excellent café and local resource. Good food, well presented by pleasant staff. The hall's fascinating history is displayed in an attractive, easy to digest manner around the café.
