A local place that I enjoy for an occasional treat. They do the nicest cooked breakfast I think I have ever had. And that's the Gluten Free option... certainly recommend and they sometimes have GF cake too. The place has a nice feel too - you never feel unwelcome so well done a nice place

Lovely coffee shop , which offers a great mix of food and various coffee choices. Positioned in a beautiful village. Very friendly staff , and it’s good to see a small independent cafe taking the COVID 19 precautions very seriously.

We came into Stamp for a coffee and snack before checking into our nearby accommodation for a few days away. It was lovely. The lemon drizzle cake I had was delicious! I really liked the decor and can see it’s a really popular location for the locals and visitors. Slight shame that when we came there wasn’t much left in terms of food and cakes (scone chef was away!) but what we did have was lovely. I think it would be nice if they had the radio or music playing gently in the background.

We booked a table for two after a ramble around Ashover with our dog. We arrived 10 minutes before our booking and sat at our reserved table after around 5 minutes our order of 2 full english breakfasts & coffees was taken. Our order took 35 minutes to arrive, and then the young waiter only brought my wifes, it was a further 5 full minutes before I received my meal. In my view you should not serve one meal whilst making the other person wait for theirs, it's just poor etiquette. Also the price of the breakfasts has increased and you now only receive 1 slice of toast whereas the 2 previous times we have been we had 2 slices?

We walked down from Alton Hill and stopped here for breakfast. A lovely little cafe and very accommodating! The Post Office/cafe really works! We both had the full english which was excellent and finished with pancakes (it was a long walk!). Friendly staff gave our 17 month old a pot of blueberries free of charge which was very kind. This place seems to be a hit with the locals and we thoroughly recommend. Dog friendly and even our golden retriever got a biscuit!

We live near the village and regularly pop into stamp to have breakfast, lunch or a coffee and cakeThe food quality is excellent, cakes are delicious and the brownies are the best I’ve ever had. There’s also an extensive tea menu We are always made to feel very welcome with our two young children and it’s great being able to pop in to post things or pick up a parcel or a newspaper and enjoy a cuppa

This is a very small place so booking ahead is recommended if going at lunchtime: outside of these hours it quietens down so not such a problem. Small menu but reasonable variety. All food well presented, and very tasty. This is a working post office so frequented by locals using this service, but this adds to its charm.

We stayed nearby in The Old Church on Alton Hill and made the Stamp our morning meal. Ashover is a beautiful village of friendly people and less friendly horses we understood from some locals! They operate their espresso machine well; a daily latte and a flat white were both perfect. A local bakery provided fresh scones, including my favorite, cheese. There are also cooked meals available. The Stamp started out as a post office and still operates as one as well as being a news agent. Lots of friendly activity every morning. And a beautiful area of England with excellent sights: Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Hardwick, just to mention a few.

We called in, along with several other members of our walking club, at The Stamp. We are so glad we did. Although the place was packed, the service was cheerful & quite quick & the food very good. I had the pictured chicken & spinach pancake with salad. It was absolutely delicious & filling. More a full meal than a lunchtime filler: far more chicken than I expected. It came in what was actually more like lasagne than anything else: though I’d never had anything quite like it. It was piping hot. The salad had slices of orange, apple & strawberries in it. Brilliant for £7.95. The others appeared quite satisfied with their salads & other things. The teas & coffees were fine too.

We have been here a number of times as its convenient, and always friendly. Needed a small bite to eat as we were going out for the day and had planned a meal for the evening. I had a sausage and bacon sandwich which was brilliant, with local sausages, crispy bacon and wholemeal bread, not quite a doorstep but leaned that way! The coffee was great, sometimes in cafe's the coffee is not so good but in the stamp it's spot on. I would recommend others trying this, or other combinations.

This is a lovely little cafe which has been recently set up in the village post office. Nicely decorated and light and airy. We have had lunch here a couple of times and have been delighted with our food. Dogs are made welcome here, which is great when walking in the area. Unfortunately there isn’t outside seating. The cafe is small and the menu limited but that isn’t an issue for us, as long as the quality is good, and it is. Staff are friendly and chatty, but not in your face. We had the meat platter on our last visit £6.95. - great value.

We have recently discovered a gem of a place, tucked out of the way in Coal Aston near Dronfield. The Magic Sunflower is a plant based eatery, fronted by Julie and Mark. They are totally focussed on providing the best food with the best service and they have created a heart-warming and welcoming space. It genuinely feels that they care about each and every meal they serve. I have had a plant-based diet for over 30 years and this is the best restaurant I have eaten in. The mains are mainly salad based and there is usually a 'special', currently mac and cheese. The salads are all great, simply zinging with health. The food feels like you are nurturing and respecting your body with beautiful flavours. My partner who is vegetarian loves the tofu scramble which could be described as a plant based all day breakfast. It includes roasted mushrooms and tomatoes, garlicky spinach and small roast potatoes as well as the scrambled tofu. There are a number of bread and toast and flatbread options. The cakes are amazing and we notice that many of their customers linger for coffee and cake or take a cake home after their meal.

Cafe and small motorcycle museum in one. A bit hidden away, but if you're a motorcycling buff, it's worth hunting it out. Admission free, it's part museum and part shop as it seems everything is for sale. The bikes are in concourse condition, thanks to the enthusiastic couple who now own the place. The cafe does an excellent breakfast, along with cakes and other edible treats. There is no car park and on street parking is limited, but the street wasn't busy the day we were there. I'd certainly revisit.
