Tucked away in the rolling downs of rural west Berkshire this gem of a village is sustained by a delightful friendly shop and cafe which sells a range of gorgeous hot and cold food. The soup of the day was leek and potato which was tasty. The breakfast nap loaded with savoury sausage egg and bacon. Service was excellent too. This is also a fave haunt of mamil cyclists stopping for cafe . Wine was quite pricey but I liked the way they were so organised with a leaflet advertising their Christmas activities. Walls were festooned with all the many well deserved awards earned for top quality service. No sensodyne toothpaste was a serious (not) omission! Iâll be back on. My bike soon.

Waited absolutely ages for mediocre food to arrive. The owner must hold the record for the most miserable business owner in town. I noted my disappointment at the food and service and they couldnât have cared less.

This was a brilliant traditional cafe supplying a good selection of reasonably priced English style breakfast and lunches, I was a regular punter. They closed a couple of months ago for a refurb and are now about to re open so I stopped by to check out the new menu. Oh dear, oh dear, it seems they have all gone a bit "Champagne Socialist" while they have been closed. The prices make no sense, instead of, say, ÂŁ7.20 the menu says it as "7.2" Why? It's hard to find a breakfast without flippin Haloumi included! Why do I want squeaky rubber with my fried egg?? When you find a decent breakfast on the menu it's ÂŁ11.90!!! (11.9 in their money) and that includes 1 slice of "sourdough toast", no drinks though. So by the time I add a coffee I'm going to be paying upwards of 16 quid for a fried breakfast (16.0 apparently), and I'll still only get one slice of poxy "sourdough" (yuk) I'm sure some of the Wickham Bishops Massiv will pop in from time to time but at these prices you've probably lost your core customers, the oldies, families and workers. And as for Halloumi on a fried breakfast, what's all that about eh?

Went here for one of their weekend evenings where they do pasta and pizza. We started with focaccia followed by pizza and gnocchi and then cheese. All were delicious and plentiful. We completed with a bottle of their Polish red wine which was light, easy drinking and went well with the food. Service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive and friendly. All this in the usual Oâkende relaxed style.

This was a great place for our Fordingbridge Cycling Softies Christmas lunch. There were nine of us and the excellent food all arrived at the same time. The staff were friendly, the place was warm and comfortable and the food and drinks were perfect for our group. Well done!

Extremely poor service, woman with dyed pink hair is very rude, no manners at all and not as a one off, itâs all the time. I always at any costa ask for extra chocolate in my hot chocolate and at every other outlet itâs done without question but she always says itâs not possible, husband had new hazelnut hot chocolate, she didnât put sprinkles on top and when I asked her for some she just snapped and said they donât have them. Try and use this costa as little as possible because of staff.

Mmm well, this is the #1 rated service station in the uk, deserved? Absolutely not!!! Sure there's nothing wrong with it, some decent shops nice and friendly environment and clean toilets, however it had no McDonald's so how can it be justified that we give it the title of #1 in the country. Anyway let's talk about my experience here, I was on my way to Wembley to watch the reds play Newcastle, UP THE REDS and I needed a poo and a little stretch on my way. Firstly I would like to mention the vast amount of parking availability and the plethora (means lots of) charging points for you people who think ur saving the planet by having an electric car. As I walked into the station I noticed some nice seating with plenty of availability for those sitting in and eating, these seats were all clean with cleaning staff ready to pounce on any mess lurking. I devoured a boneless banquet from KFC ( Kentucky Fried Chicken) while there was a Greggs, Burger King, Prett and a Costa on offer as well, plenty of solid options for those travelling especially those with a variety of age groups. Cousin Carla speaking - they had M and s cookies available Cousin Owen speaking - hello I had a box meal containing mini fillet burger and popcorn chicken and chips may I say wonderful perfect amount delicious taste and not to greasy . I had a milky bar crushen flip me that was delightful all round a wonderful trip clean toilets and not overcrowded comfortable seats Back to lewis - thankyou for reading my review đЧđ§ââïžđ„șđđ©đđŠđŠđŠđŠđ§đżââïž

I enjoy going to Rhode Island Coffee Chorley. The staff are very welcoming and the atmosphere is relaxing.

Being local this is one of favourite places to go, we are aware they are "dog friendly". What was so disappointing yesterday is that for a small place there were THREE dogs in it and not under the table (which is meant to the rule)... One retriever was really large and would never have been anywhere near to fitting under the table. As I'm extremely allergic we left. I was ill after what should have been a pleasant start to the day. As our nieces are scared stiff of dogs it's also off our places to go list when we have them visit. Aside from the unhygienic matter of dogs around food, there's the fear factor for some and allergy factor for others. I know people with dogs think they are owed a living and treat them like humans.... But they're not human , they still lick their asses, they smell and their hair does shed..... All in places people are paying to eat!!! We won't be back.

A well-made menu, particularly the excellent Cullen Skink, rather let down by three disappointing childrenâs meals. Pizzas the size of small saucers. Poor quality meat in the sausages. Not a green vegetable in sight, and everything laden with salt. Perhaps at ÂŁ7 a (child) dish thereâs not enough margin for better quality. In which case charge more - or better still, do kids-sized portions of the main menu. Itâs always crushing to walk away from lunch out with three children still hungry. More so when youâve had to give away half your own Cullen Skink in the process.
