Been here numerous times and it was very good. This visit was awful and we’d recommended it to our friends who we were with. There were only 3 other tables occupied and there were 3 young girls waiting on. They were excellent at avoiding eye contact, we had to ask for menus and then had to ask for our orders to be taken, it was possibly the longest wait for food that we’d ever had. We came a few weeks ago and the staff were 3 ladies who were excellent, very engaging and efficient, what’s happened to them? Our food portions were far smaller than usual and there were things missing from previously eaten meals from the same menu. This place has definitely gone downhill and we would be reluctant to return.

Food nice but expensive for what you actually receive. Prawn jacket potato 9.95! With around 8 prawns. Child sandwich is 2 triangles and a bow of wotists for nearly £4! Not even drink included

Lovely staff, great variety on the menu and good with allergies. My husband and I had a wonderful lunch at this café. We both chose toasties and had a cream tea afterwards. The portions were very generous, the gluten free toastie having an extra 'half' as gf bread is tiny! The scones were fantastic, and served with Rodda's clotted cream - a Must-Visit!

Wow how expensive are they?! £13.50 for 1 large cappuccino an omelette and a piece of toast! They charged me £2.50 for 1 piece of toast and 2 tiny pats of butter! Tbf the omelette was very nice but could have done with being half the size and half the price. Won’t be going again at those prices.

Called in on way home and waited 5 mins before told to take a seat. Young lady making a coffee was oblivious to us being there and returning staff told us go take a seat.Only 2 other people in cafe. Waited a longtime to order whilst member of staff filled up coffee machine and put stock away and cleaned up. Ordered poached eggs on toast to be given 2 eggs on 1 piece of toast. Our order in total consisted of eggs on toast twice and 2 small teacups of cappuccino, which were very strong and seemed to be made with water and a milk topping, not very nice. Total bill £16.10. Couldn't believe the price which on reflection made it very clear why cafe was almost empty. Out of the other 2 customers only 1 had food and a person known to staff had only a drink. Needless to say I would not recommend this cafe at all.

Needs a good chef in cafe . I should have guessed food not good as only 4 people sitting Sunday lunchtime. Microwaved quiche not acceptable

We are breakfast lovers and analyse our breakfasts out with some nerdiness so we are chuffed to say that 7oaks on our doorstep rates highly. Proper cooking: very good quality full Welsh, lovely just-runny poached eggs with rich orange yolks, proper tea, strong flat white, immediate service, plenty of local regulars. Reasonable prices, sufficiently varied menu. Lovely all round and to be strongly appreciated.

We went late afternoon yesterday on our way home and would have totally understood if they refused us food as they were getting ready to close - but no they couldn’t do enough for us.We were presented with the most amazing salads and nothing was too much for these ladies. It is not the first time we have been here - but will be returning again - keep up the good work ladies amazing place and so clean too

A lovely visit to this cafe. Nice calm atmosphere, very much enjoyed the plant life all around and a sweet older clientele. The food was lovely, although the rarebit was perhaps a little too salty, but this is of course a question of preference. My one complaint, minor though it is, is that the initial service was slightly slow for a very quiet time of day, but once the orders were taken, the food arrived quickly.

Stayed for three nights for our 47th wedding anniversary, our room was clean and serviced daily. Nice crisp bed linen and fresh towels, a lot of money has been spent on refurbishment and there is still work to do. Lovely flowers outside and the views from our balcony were stunning, you must book a room with a balcony as the others back on to the canal. The restaurant does not serve an a,la carte menu, but the food we had was lovely and we enjoyed it. Parking was a problem, i feel that the limited parking spaces by the Hotel should be for staying guests only as the other car park is a bit of a route march and not suitable for those who have difficulty walking. All in all it was a most enjoyable stay but those of us with a more mature figure could do with a Kingsize bed.

We came to sweet daisy for ice cream after a meal at the pub. There were eight of us so a big order. The man who served us was lovely, smiley and patient. There was a long queue forming behind us but we didn’t feel rushed. The ice creams were delicious and my sister said ‘felt like they went on forever’ 😍 which is quite the compliment! I had a rocky road and it was the best most delicious ice cream I’ve had all summer. Thank you.

So lovely warm greeting I ordered two strong hot chocolates and a round of Welsh cakes which was duly served and the hot chocolate was nice a strong full of flavour. The staff were friendly chatty and took genuine interest in who you were. I would highly recommend this cafe
