A friend and I were recently visiting this venue regularly weekly. On the last occasion we had ordered and had eaten but were finishing our drinks. We had been there about 45 minutes and whilst the place was busy there were 2 empty tables. One of the assistants approached us and asked if we were going to order anything else or were leaving as she had people waiting - there were 2 people together looking for a table and as I said there were 2 empty tables. We were horrified and said that we presumed we had no choice but to leave - the woman just cleared the table not even giving my friend time to finish her drink. My friend rang the head office and a lady said she would look into this and ring back later that day - my friend is still waiting for the call several weeks later. We will never go here again so they have not only lost 2 regular customers but also some of our other friends who won't go there either. I think this is disgusting treatment given we were hoping for a relaxaming coffee and snack and this business certainly doesn't know how to treat their customers.

I would give no stars if I could, please don’t go to rays bakery or put any art in here. Day light robbery! My dad put art in here some costing £80 and one in particular (peel castle) costing £140, they sold peel castle for £80 claiming they had gotten confused which painting they had sold. When my dad asked for the rest of his money for the painting back, which I would like to state here, he put a lot of time, money and hard work into. They refused claiming it was not their fault and that there was no price tag on the painting, which there was. They could not give us any contact details what so ever for the person who bought the painting. We strongly believe some form of a scam has happened here! PLEASE SHARE.

This cosy little tearoom offer traditional cakes, sandwiches and drinks at reasonable prices. The menu is simple and reflects the offerings of the cake shop below. There is a pretty steep flight of stairs, so not ideal for those with mobility issues. Spotlessly clean and staff are friendly and helpful.

This is mine and my boyfriend favourite place to go for breakfast or lunch. We only live down the road so we visit quite often to sit in the cafe and try out their daily specials or classics from the menu. The staff are wonderful and friendly and the food always always tastes brilliant. I couldn't reccomend Ray's enough.

My husband thoroughly enjoyed our festive afternoon tea. The non alcoholic wine my husband was delighted with. The finger sandwiches had a variety the bread is beautiful then all the varieties of cakes just made it. We would certainly recommend this Festive Afternoon Tea when it comes around again.

First ever visit to Ray's, and I enjoyed it. The coffee was very good, as was the hot beef barm. If you just want a snack or a drink, this place is perfect. So much better than Starbucks. I would go again, and would recommend you give it a try.

Called in for a late breakfast, had not been for a while, we both had the full English. it was tasty and I enjoyed the mushrooms for once. Could have done with another round of toast, can never understand why cafes are not more generous with toast it it so cheap to provide more and would be very well received.

Ray's is one of only a handful of traditional coffee shops on Allerton Road and therefore could really be THE place to go. Whilst it is clean and comfy it lacks any real charm and is a bit sterile. You pay when you order- not really very welcoming, and at 1 pm on a Saturday afternoon the cake selection was already very sparse- when there's a fully stocked bakery shop just downstairs this is NOT good. The staff are pleasant enough but the service was painfully slow for two toasted sandwiches, a cake, and drinks. The tea tends to be luke warm after the food arrives 35 minutes later, when it's not even busy. It's not cheap either; the food was lovely , good quality ingredients and nicely presented, but the overall experience is not one to repeat.

friends and I have been going to Rays every week for the last year or so. The food is lovely with different specials on the board each week. The staff are fantastic. Michael, Becky, Sue and Sarah are so good to us. The fact that Rays is full all the time shows they are doing a great job. Thanks to you all.

Another favourite haunt of my mother and sister. This time was Mum and me having lunch. Rays is a small cafe above a cake and bread shop. It is very friendly and has a bright atmosphere. On the day we visited the cafe was very busy with people queuing after we had sat down. Mum opted for a big bowl of soup as usual whilst I had cheese (unusually Lancashire) which was a pleasant change from cheddar. Good service, friendly staff, nice place. Worth a visit.

Visité un brunch el domingo por la mañana, tomé el muffin de desayuno y el inglés completo. Ambos eran realmente sabrosos y el camarero era amable. El zumo de naranja recién exprimido en la botella de cristal era encantador y el café era agradable.

We ordered a giant cookie on the second of feb to be collected on the 17th feb giving plenty time for it to be made. The day before pick up I ran the branch and asked about the cookie to which the lady rudely replied she hadn’t got an order and that there was lots of staff so it had gone missing, she didn’t even think to ask what was my order and instead told me to ring back at 4:30pm as she was extremely busy. As this cookie was for an event I didn’t want to risk not getting it and with the employee not really listening and being rude on the phone I went down to speak to her to my Surprise (not) she was not busy instead on her phone with her headphones in I spoke about the issue with the missing order and showed her my receipt to which she replied (I believe you) well I’m glad she did as she took my order on the 2nd. She never apologised or even acknowledges her mistake instead was extremely rude. I’m sure this isn’t the time of person Millie’s wants as the front for there business because I will not be going back and I’m sure others will feel the same if they have to deal with the same rudeness and inconvenience.

My girlfriend asked for a medium strawberry acai with lemonade but no ice and the drink cost £5.60 already for this price you could expect them to fill the cup, instead served a small cup half full, i asked if they could fill it up with lemonade as every other starbucks has done. I had to ask for a refund as i wasnt paying £5.60 for a half drink, we sat down to enjoy some time together and we overheard us them attempt to whisper about me asking for a refund by one staff member to the other and i found this to rude, when all i asked was a simple request. Any other starbucks or even staff have been much more accommodating. Wont be returning and ask people to go to the other starbucks in town centre.
