This is a very personal and biased review because my memories were shattered when I visited Ye Crake this Wednesday 6th November. During 1971 and 1972 I visited here at weekends with 6th form school friends and GREAT times were had. On Wednesday and admittedly it was around 10pm in the middle of the week the other 8 people in the place didn't create the same atmosphere I remembered from back in the day. It looked as though it hadn't been decorated since then. Ok the barman was pleasant and seemed happy to see new customers but... It's said...NEVER GO BACK...and for this venue I should have followed that advice.

Awful landlady working behind the bar. I came in with a few friends talking and she shouted at us to shut up, asking us if we're children. Of course we replied no, as were all mid 20's. With that reply, she told us to all leave, telling us she refused to serve us. We we're respectful and weren't talking at an inexcusable volume. We were simply carrying on our conversation from the last place we came from. Would absolutely not recommend this pub, as per our experience, you simply cannot have a conversation without being penalised for it. Awful service, awful atmosphere and awful staff.

Proper old school Liverpool boozer, used to visit all the time as a fresh faced 18 year old, finally able to enjoy a pint and used to love the place. Visited again recently as the Mrs works in the area and felt like surprising her but the lure of ye cracke proved stronger than I had anticipated and it has lost nothing of what used to make it such a great place to be... Sound staff, good atmosphere. Would recommend for a pint or two to anyone.

This is a pub I've always wanted to visit after reading an article about it in a magazine. Great atmosphere. It's the perfect way to reminisce about the past. However, what I felt when I actually visited was that even without John, this is an active pub that is loved by the locals. Under the big tree in the garden, red-faced people were enjoying conversation with drinks in hand...I really thought it was a nice place.

That was even better than I imagined. The staff were so welcoming and showed me all the different Beatles/John Lennon momentos. Then the bartender gave me recs in the city and told me all about the history of the bar. Living in Philly, where we don't exactly love tourists, I was expecting that sort of experience. But it wasn't at all. Everyone was so lovely. And I got chills sitting at John's favorite bar underneath his portrait. You simply have to go if you're visiting. It's so worth it. What a special place. And a fitting name. Seems to be a neighborhood institution that nearly blends in like any house save the fact that there are a few beer signs out front. Seemingly appears out of nowhere and is quite a change from the busy shops and pubs near the Philharmonic. Place looked empty but the front door was unlocked and a few others came in not long after. Some unique ales being served and meant to be enjoyed in this unique pub.

My girlfriend asked for a medium strawberry acai with lemonade but no ice and the drink cost £5.60 already for this price you could expect them to fill the cup, instead served a small cup half full, i asked if they could fill it up with lemonade as every other starbucks has done. I had to ask for a refund as i wasnt paying £5.60 for a half drink, we sat down to enjoy some time together and we overheard us them attempt to whisper about me asking for a refund by one staff member to the other and i found this to rude, when all i asked was a simple request. Any other starbucks or even staff have been much more accommodating. Wont be returning and ask people to go to the other starbucks in town centre.

We ordered a giant cookie on the second of feb to be collected on the 17th feb giving plenty time for it to be made. The day before pick up I ran the branch and asked about the cookie to which the lady rudely replied she hadn’t got an order and that there was lots of staff so it had gone missing, she didn’t even think to ask what was my order and instead told me to ring back at 4:30pm as she was extremely busy. As this cookie was for an event I didn’t want to risk not getting it and with the employee not really listening and being rude on the phone I went down to speak to her to my Surprise (not) she was not busy instead on her phone with her headphones in I spoke about the issue with the missing order and showed her my receipt to which she replied (I believe you) well I’m glad she did as she took my order on the 2nd. She never apologised or even acknowledges her mistake instead was extremely rude. I’m sure this isn’t the time of person Millie’s wants as the front for there business because I will not be going back and I’m sure others will feel the same if they have to deal with the same rudeness and inconvenience.
