Lovely setting to relax and enjoy the views having lunch or just a drink. A few had lunch said was nice. Me personally thought expensive for soup but enjoyed my coffee. Worth it for the views.

Fish finger sandwich and chips. £13 Ciabatta bread sandwich of mostly batter and perhaps 2 oz of dry fish with a soggy lettuce leaf. No other salad or greens. Have previously had an early coffee and bacon roll - that was OK.

Bright and airy with a good selection of drinks and food. We had a couple of coffees before we went in the museum and lunch afterwards. We had smoked haddock chowder and it was delicious.

A lovely surprise stop off when we were debating a stop in windermere but it was pouring with rain on arrival. You get free parking which was a bonus and the food was delicious. Very helpful, polite staff and beautiful views.

Wonderful gem of a cafe slightly hidden away from the main tourist areas. Service (order at the counter, food brought out to your table) is friendly, attentive and prompt. Food is delicious! And the views from the outdoor tables are just breathtaking.

The cafe is perfectly positioned overlooking Lake Windermere. We felt away from a lot of the crowded venues in the centre. The food was delicious. Small menu but executed well. Lovely warm cafe while watching very brave open water swimmers.

This cafe has 1st class cakes. Baked by the cafe: Bara Brith and Rum butter - exceptional, tasty and an adorable feast. Damson Bakewell tart crispy almonds, tasty sponge and crisp pastry. Yummy Comes to mind, so glad we sampled these delights. Make sure you give this place a try. The best cakes we have tasted on our visit to the Lakes. Very friendly and welcoming staff

This is worth visiting even if you’re not interested in the museum or been before (like us!). The food is top notch and relatively inexpensive compared to lots of other places in the area. Recommend the soups, try whatever is on offer and it’s going to be good!

We went here a few months ago and had a really enjoyable lunch so last weekend we decided to make a return trip,I really wished we hadn't,the menu was very limited, all sandwiches were served without butter on insipid looking Ciabatta, they looked like they'd just been dragged out of the freezer & filling bunged in.we actually picked our filling from the kids menu as none of the fillings on the main menu where suitable.Unfortunately we will not be returning & it seems like others had also decided the same as there were only about a dozen other customers!

Get away from the crowds at this perfectly situated lakeside cafe. We stopped for coffee and cake before visiting the adjacent museum. What a great spot! We could have sat for hours gazing up the lake to the hills beyond. Staff were friendly and there was a good selection of sweet treats. Parking is close (~50m) and is free when you buy food.

Beautiful spot for a Cafe. There is a car park which is free for Cafe customers. Just collect a code from the staff to put into the car park pay point when exiting. Drinks and cakes were lovely with a fantastic view of the lake.

I come to the lakes frequently and love it here. I was recently up with some friends for a long weekend and went here more than once to eat. The whole place is stunning. We went for breakfast/brunch vibes and it was so nice- the food was all so good and we all thought it was good value. We also had lunch another day which was really nice too. I will definitely go again- such a nice place. Boat trip was great too!

We were walking past the jetty and popped in for a drink. The café looked new, it’s small but has full length windows to show off the fabulous view of Lake Windermere. There’s the usual array of café style food and drinks, very akin to a National Trust eatery. Prices are expensive, but the views are unsurpassed.

Visited the cafe after the museum (which was great). Food generally very disappointing. Fries were fine, cakes looked good (though we didn’t have any), but ‘ciabatta’ (definitely not ciabatta) sandwiches and breakfast bap were pretty awful. The filling of the cheese sandwich was particularly terrible - the ingredients listed on the menu had been chopped up small and combined into a kind of sandwich-filling slaw that should have been left behind a good few decades ago. The ‘Jetty slaw’ on the side was very strange. If the cafe wasn’t attached to such a beautiful attraction I think it wouldn’t last long at all.

Fantastic pub. Me my husband and our 2 springer spaniels visited at the beginning on November. The food was outstanding proper home made traditional pub food. The staff were friendly and brilliant with our dogs which is a bonus. The pub made us feel very welcome and we visited everyday while we was there. Thank you

We only wanted a coffee and a cake as it was only 11.15 AM but had to queue for 20 minutes behind people ordering hot food and spending ages deciding what they wanted at the last minute Nice stuff but it needs organising a lot better Guess as its volunteer run it depends very much on what the staffing is on the day They need a separate area for those just having coffee etc rather than a meal

“Let’s stop for ice cream” we said. “It’ll be a treat for the kids” we said. It wasn’t. Honestly we nearly lost the will to live. Not the fault of the people serving but the convoluted menu of ice cream sundaes and milkshakes which each took about a week to make. We only wanted ice cream and were waiting around 45 minutes which honestly just wasn’t worth it. It wasn’t just us as several groups abandoned the queue while we were waiting. Need a fast-track queue for customers wanting ice cream only. Won’t be returning.

Great hotel room a bit rustic and stuffy but what do you expect from a 400 year old house. Room location was still clean. The beer selection was very large and tasty, just like the breakfast..
