This is a lovely place with great food! We were made to feel so welcome the minute we walked in the door. One of us was a coeliac and required a gluten free diet. They took the time to go through the menu with us and how it was prepared so we could find something suitable. The homemade gluten free scone was a great surprise! We had a great lunch and will definitely return!

So having had one review removed because our guest wrote it, I feel I should review our experience, or lack of it, at this restaurant. Firstly, I suspect the food is good, but I can’t comment because we had our booking cancelled. A table at the restaurant had been booked for our 30th wedding anniversary for ourselves and two of our friends for a lovely celebration. At 4:30 on the day of the booking we were getting ready, champagne on ice, when we received a phone call from the restaurant stating our booking was cancelled due to ongoing building works. WHAT! so late on in the day? It was too late to book anything (we tried) so ended up in a pub, nothing like the celebration we had been planning for months. Surely the owners should have been keeping track of the work enabling them to cancel table bookings much earlier and offer some alternatives. Is this too much to ask for an important celebration? What followed over the next couple of weeks was the most atrocious customer care I have experienced in the last 20 years. Initially offering no recompense (blaming contractors and landlords), with emails taking too long to answer, claims of offers for recompense being been made when they hadn’t, and comments about the removed review, I eventually gave up seeking any compensation: I felt that I was communicating with someone who had no care or consideration regarding the significance of a 30th wedding anniversary (it only happens once!), or experience in providing good customer care. I’m sure the food is good. Unfortunately, the ability to care for their customers in unforeseen circumstances and deal with the fall-out following their domestic problems was at best pitiful.

Recommended by the Bedford Hotel where we always stay when visiting Regency Sidmouth for "the best Devonshire cream tea." Quality jam and cream is presented in proper dishes, not prepacked in hideous plastic containers. A generous supply although we have had better scones but still worth a visit. "A destination in itself."🇬🇧🇳🇿

We went there for a roast dinner for 7 people and all the food was delicious and the staff were lovely. We all ordered starter mains and puddings and there where options for all dietary requirements

What a surprise to find Magee Street Bakery. Recommended by the folk at Crockett & Jones shoes (just down the street) I have returned each time I go to Northampton. Good coffee and a great sandwich. I wish we had a place like this near us (in South East London). Really, really, good and a total surprise to find tucked away in a back street of Northampton.

Heard great things about this hidden gem and it didn’t disappoint at all. Great setting. Great food. My only (petty) negatives would be food could be warmer and front of house a little less nervous. As I say, petty. All great and helpful IF spoken to first. Can’t wait to attend again next week for their themed evening.

I’d come to Arran solely so I could eat at Mara. Kirsty and Gordon ( and Flora) run a fantastic little restaurant. The food has not been less than excellent and the service is friendly and welcoming. As they warn on their website the seating inside is limited but there are benches right outside or even on the beach side of the road. We ate here 5 times in 7 days this visit (brunch and late lunch on Sunday!) Already planning to get back here next year.
