Offbeet Southsea in Portsmouth

Since my first visit in March I have been several times, in fact every time I pop over to Southsea! This place surpasses labels, and is pure, unadulterated excellence. The surrroundings and the vibe exude well-being, and are the perfect accompaniment to the mind-boggling food and refreshments. If you want to feel cared-for, come here! Everything I have sampled has been a revelation in taste; perfectly-combined flavours in no way overwhelming or heavy. The subtlety of the cakes, coffees and buscuits is second-to-none and even the "pupcakes" look mouthwateringly tempting! All staff are superb; contributing calm and nurturing atmosphere which clearly must origionate from the top...

First time to this absolutely wonderful café. As vegans, it is so nice to be able to have the whole menu to choose from as opposed to 2 or 3 items! We went for the autumnal crumpets and the campfire mushrooms with added tempeh 'bacon'. And they did not disappoint. Beautifully put together and full of flavour. We were full for hours! The coffee was excellent. There are also some fabulous looking cakes, but we were far too full to have any! (Next time). The cafe is very clean and has a lovely friendly atmosphere. Staff are really lovely and welcoming. We cannot wait to return.

It was the first day of the new menu. I had gluten free sour dough bread topped with humus and mushrooms and the vegan Parmesan It was to die for. Cannot praise it enough. Then I had the gluten free blondie brownie. Again so delicious I bought a second piece to take home. We were staying in a local hotel but decided to venture out for breakfast and had no regrets.

Was recommended this place for a plant based breakfast and we were not disappointed! The staff are welcoming and the cafe has loads of seating over three floors and what looked like a garden outside when there's better weather . We had the waffles with 'cheese' and the stack of pancakes with 'chickn'. I was tempted to get the extra stack for £2.50 more, but glad I didn't as the single serving was definitely enough. The flavours were amazing and will definitely look to go back.. Next time the extra stack will be mine!!!

We were staying in Portsmouth as part of a family trip and found this place online. The reviews were good but the food was even better. Every ingredient in their dishes are home made and very fresh. We are not vegan but the experience in this cafe was eye opening. It was a testament to how tasty and wonderful vegan dishes can be.

Absolutely incredible vegan food, delicious coffee and friendly, helpful staff. What more could you want?! Definitely worth a visit.

Visited Southsea for the first time in around 10 years and found Offbeet on Instagram before I came down and knew it had to be my first stop. Even my boyfriend who is skeptical of anywhere plant based absolutely loved it and we went again the following day. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and the team are all so lovely and helpful. Each dish is so interesting but well thought out and everything I tried was incredible. The selection of freshly baked was huge and also delicious (still thinking about the blondie I had). I can’t wait to come back!

I went to meet friends for some lunch at Offbeat , Saturday afternoon. As one friend was vegan and wanted to go to a vegan based restaurant. I had the gluten free sourdough Vegan cheese melt and Lions Main chilled latte. Which was delicious. I highly recommend Offbeat as a vegan restaurant. All the food we had was on time and very tasty. Thank you for the lovely customer service. It was both my friends first time eating in Offbeat and visiting Portsmouth. Thank for making us so welcome on a busy Saturday afternoon.

Best vegan cafe/restaurant I 've been. I am not vegan, but I can totally be converted after visiting Offbeet. I had the Korean pancakes, and I was a veeeeery happy gal! I loved the quality of the food and the space. It's like a little oasis! The coffee and cakes are at a different level too! (I had to get more cake and coffee beans for the house 🤤) I wish they had more branches in London, so I can go more often!

As always amazing food and great coffee. Great vegan spot that even those pesky carnivores can enjoy! Quick service and always mindblowingly great food!

We had a lovely experience at Offbeet meeting friends for brunch. Staff were exceptionally friendly & the menu is so interesting! Most creative & delicious vegan food we’ve ever had. So many wonderful home made cakes we really enjoyed. A real gem in the neighbourhood. Thank you :-)

A calm and inviting appearance, all is bright but relaxing. Kind and welcoming staff do all they can to be helpful and explain what is on offer. Perfect coffee and cake - I will definitely be back another time - and hopefully sample something more substantial...

We regularly visit here for lunch. The food is excellent the staff are lovely. Just after Christmas we went to one of their tasting events and last night we went to another. I would say it was even better than the first. It is very expensive but the food is excellent. There were ten courses and I think the portion sizes could be smaller! As a special treat it's great as the food is so imaginatively prepared and presented.

I love this place. Really tasty well thought through dishes. Modern, lovely ambience, light, warmth and a cool but friendly vibe. All the little touches are so well done. And the staff are so nice. My favourite dish is the ‘poached egg’ with sourdough toast, the chickpeas are so flavourful. But the others are all so good too., it’s difficult to choose what to have. The dishes are so beautifully presented. Plus there’s always a really good selection of beautiful looking, delicious cakes in the cabinet. The tea and coffee choices are good too. Well worth a visit.

The food was fantastic and it’s always so great to see people being creative with vegan cuisine, with inspiration from South America and the Mediterranean. The cake was delicious too! The staff were friendly, and warmly welcomed us to their café! It was all outstanding value for money.

Very welcoming friendly staff, the food was delicious, and the Dog Menu equally tasty my Cavapoo tells me. Will most definitely visit again and only with it was nearer me. We need more places like this 🙏

Fantastic place! The food was delicious! We’re not vegan and my boyfriend was sceptical but I’d heard such good things about Offbeet and it did not disappoint, we all loved our food. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and the decor is lovely. We will be back to try the delicious looking cakes.

Perfect place! Everything is Vegan and tastes absolutely amazing! I had an espresso alongside the most amazing apple blondie! They also have a dog menu and my pup loves the pupcakes 😍

Me and the wife came in for coffee and cake . I'm dairy free so having the choice of all cakes due to them being vegan was a great feeling. The Eton mess cake was so good I had to take a second slice home for later. The wife had the tumric latte and a brownie and said it was amazing. Highly recommended this place, even if you are not vegan/ dairy free etc, it's still fantastic quality and great food!

Our go to breakfast spot. The mushroom French toast is phenomenal. Sad to see it disappear for now, but very excited to try the new menu! Lovely atmosphere, and delicious food.

They have the best coffee in Portsmouth and offer comfortable seating areas for individuals who just want to chill out alone. The only problem is that they don't open on Mondays and Tuesdays...

Offbeet is a fabulous cafe with friendly and helpful staff. A lovely calm atmosphere in a light airy space and the food is AMAZING! It is now one of our regular places for coffee, cake or breakfast. My partner is dairy intolerant so to go somewhere and be able to have anything on the menu is a blessing. Looking forward to see what's to come. You're off to a great start 😊

We traveled in from outside of Portsmouth especially to go to this Cafe as I had seen a lot of exciting stuff on social media when it opened. My sister is vegan so I was really excited to take her somewhere with an amazing selection of delicious savoury food and scrumptious cakes and it didn’t disappoint. The food was wonderful, good portion sizes and the attention to details on flavours and presentation was spot on. The service was wonderful and we will definitely be back again. A little gem!

What a wonderful, calm oasis in the hustle and bustle of Southsea! The restaurant has several floors and, I believe, an outside dining area, so it is very spacious and breezy. Lovely decor, very friendly staff, and a chilled vibe. The food is outstanding! All plant-based with gluten-free options. It's also dog-friendly which adds to the relaxed atmosphere. I went there with my sister-in-law for a post-birthday brunch and we were absolutely thrilled with every detail - I *highly* recommend the yummy cakes for afters!

Tasty brunch, lots of choice. The food was fresh and way beyond what I’d be able to achieve at home. The venue decor is lovely and clean. The staff were also great. Not all healthy, some very tempting cakes which we took home to have with a cuppa. And don’t forget to grab some cheesy kale crisps too!
