The best restaurants serving Mediterranean food in South East

We’ve just eaten an absolutely delicious meal from the Greek Arch. Amazing gigantes, brilliant chicken and pork kebabs with all the trimmings followed by yummy baklava. Wish we had such a great Greek restaurant in our neighbourhood!

Large comfy restaurant. The food is good and well cooked Turkish. Not sure why they also do pasta but we stuck with Turkish. 4 stars because yes it’s a bit overpriced for what you get, but the prices are back in line if you go on a Monday or Tuesday for the 20% off. In all, good meal.

I didn't feel welcome and the staff were rude, they totally ignored me on arrival and when I thanked them as I was leaving. Hopefully it's just me they weren't pleasant to. The tomatoes are served raw and it is very expensive. I expected more than one sausage and left hungry. I am not sure why it is so expensive. It is very busy. I won't be going back but others might enjoy that type of environment.

Outside is nice but most tables uncomfortable in cafe bit. Service off hand and be careful as in small print in menu they mention 20% VAT applied to dine in and 10% discretionary service. So on looking at the menu you need to add 30% if eating in.. thought it was not good value for money

I was really excited to try this after seeing all the stuff on social media.. however, really disappointed food was average - we ordered started and it come out with our tapas - we had asked separately, took about 20 mins to get drinks , service was slow and not the most friendliest. Another friend had a similar experience here. Looks lovely with the decor but overrated.

I'm really surprised by some of the previous reviews but looking at the dates, they were some time ago. I went for lunch with a friend in July 2024 and was so impressed with the food and very friendly service, I returned with my husband for lunch. We really enjoyed it and would return again.

Wow. Where to start with this place. We visited on Saturday after looking at the positive reviews. It was a complete disaster. We were shown to our table downstairs by the pass and the restaurant was c.half full. We were given menus and the first thing I noticed was all ar two wine options had tape stuck over them. OK - they are short of wine. We order drinks and start to notice drama in the kitchen. Lots of shouting and swearing but try not to pay attention. Drinks take an age to come. We order but some of the options are unavailable. We work around it but, just after, the people on the table next to us tell us their prawns were tasteless and a number of items they ordered never showed up. I ask to change the prawns we had ordered and speak to the couple who are clearly in a hurry to get out of there. Things get more lively in the kitchen - one guy on the phone ‘you are incompetent’, ‘I quit - this is my two weeks notice’ and ‘this place should not be open - we have no food to serve’. Then encourages his colleagues to leave too and says the owner is a ‘complete c*nt’. Some good arrives - all of it very mediocre at best. The place is clearly in meltdown with some orders coming twice and others not at all. We are literally waiting for Gordon Ramsay to storm in 😂. We then speak to the couple behind us who, again, are itching to leave. At this point one of the chefs packs his bag and leaves. He is soon followed by the other. So now no kitchen staff - just 2 waiters - one of who tells me his 16. We asked for the bill having done a solid 45 minutes. No bill arrives. I go to see if I can rustle up a bill. In fairness we could have just walked but that would sit on my conscience. The bill is £113 plus service. I tell them, very politely, that I won’t be paying that. There is no dispute. I offer £65 which they happily accept. Reading between the lines based on what I heard from the kitchen, the owner is not ordering stock and may not be honouring payment of the wages. I felt extremely sorry for the two waiting staff - the one who was not 16 can not have been more than 20. I wished her all the best in finding a new job. So, unless you want the entertainment factor (and I don’t recommend) do not go near this place with a barge pole.

This place never disappoints. Great food, excellent service and nothing too much effort. We were served by Marius. He was very funny, cheeky and excellent company. My friend was partially sighted and he made sure we picked a table in the light as it helps her see more. Fantastic on the spur of the moment visit.

Fantastic coffee and cake in a relaxed setting. Best coffee we have had in a long time. We had a warm welcome on arrival by the assistant manager “Steph” who was amazing and went through the menu and answered all of our questions. She really is a credit to the business. If you need a rest after a busy day shopping I highly recommend this great caffe.

Kay was great! Came for a bottomless brunch. Quick with drinks and food was tasty! Would come okay!

Had breakfast. Cheap food price but the quality of food was poor. Toast soggy 45p type loaf.. Bacon cheapest you can get. Saving grace was egg was done well. Total rip off for drinks. Caramel Latte charged 70 p more making it a whopping £4.50 as they had a “mistake” price on their menu.1) why have they not corrected it 2) why don’t they point it out when ordering. Milk shake was like £1 milkshake from Morrisons across the road, but obviously marked up in price.
