Turkuaz in Winchester

Delicious food and lovely service. Had to ask a few times for water - might be nice to just leave some on the table, but otherwise a lovely evening.

Such slooooowwwww service. I'm all for a leisurely dinner, but the service was so slow it took at least an hour from being seated for our main course to arrive. Rarely saw a member of staff - almost felt abandoned. Parched and ravenous the food arrived - mixed reviews.....my veg mixed platter was nice, but my friend who ordered the salad had half a bowl of parsley. Not good. The dessert menus arrived, but no-one ever arrived to take our order so we left sugar free and disappointed. The restaurant is really lovely to look at and has lots going for it (darts upstairs = fun addition) but service needs to improve, sorry!

This is a fabulous restaurant- amazing food and excellent service , really looked after well. Special mention for our waiter Joe. Looking forward to going back

Amazing food as always! Been a few times now and it never fails to impress. If you haven’t been you must! And it was my birthday they didn’t disappoint thanks guys.

Good food, service was average. Had to chase down having a drinks order taken (twice), was a Saturday night so busy but service was slow, food took a while. Gave us our bill without asking or offering desert menu. Just not very attentive serving staff.

The food was good although the service was poor. Had to track down a member of staff multiple times for drinks, table clearance and the time between courses was unreasonable x

Wonderful place. We really enjoyed our experience. Decor is lovely and staff friendly. Has a lovely vibe. Initially being a little older I was dubious thinking it was more suited to young people but we really had a lovely time. Thank you all.

What a disappointment! We called in on a Saturday lunch time and were surprised to see a practically empty restaurant (on a Saturday ?- we should have picked up on the clue). Service pleasant but slow. We opted to share Meze which was passable but nothing special except for the Tabbouleh. Our main courses were not a great success. She who should be obeyed ordered the Sea Bass fillet with sauteed vegetables. What she got was a decent piece of fish with practically cold, raw inedible (and she likes raw veg) vegetables. When she complained , and after a lot of tooing and froing between the waiting staff and kitchen and a telephone call to the manager (why no on site manager on a Saturday)? her dish was taken off the bill. I ordered the moussaka, a favourite Greek dish of mine. What I got was a plate of (to be fair, tasty) stodge that was nothing like any moussaka I have had in terms of texture etc. Being stubborn I ate as much as I could but still left about a third of the portion. The Turkish wines we tried were, however, excellent but overpriced. Staff were good but seemed to be unsupervised which left tables not being properly serviced. All in all not a great advert for what their website claimed was a taste of Turkish fine cooking. I cannot recommend this restaurant but, on the plus side, the decor is excellent.

The atmosphere was brilliant, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic. We had a lovely evening. We had two sharing plates for starters between six and then main courses. They were all delicious whether garlic prawns or lamb cutlets, or the lamb shank. I particularly loved the falafel. We didn’t go upstairs where there is a bar and you can play darts, but I will go back and do that! It really was a fantastic evening.

Lovely place - great atmosphere, friendly and helpful and superb authentic Turkish food. All ground great experience. Will def be returning.

Went with friends few days after opening, it was quite a bit since it was during weekdays ? the food was nice and service was good . Mix grill was nice and livers was too good .

Thank you for a wonderful family celebration for our table of 15 on Saturday lunchtime. Everyone enjoyed the tasty hot and cold mezzze and wonderfully cooked main courses. The kleftiko lamb shanks and bbq grilled meats were beautifully cooked and those choosing fish and mussells were equally delighted. Everyone aged 9 to 90 enjoyed the experience. Service was friendly, attentive and efficient. Hard to believe you have only been open 7 weeks congratulations to the team!

After a long awaited opening, we weren't disappointed. Fantastic cocktails, mezze sharing platers which we demolished and a nice ambience. We will be coming back again, maybe next time to try the darts!

Turkuaz, a newcomer to the dining scene, shows immense promise despite its recent opening. While there are minor areas that could benefit from refinement, the overall experience was highly enjoyable. The food, infused with authentic flavors and expertly prepared, delighted my taste buds. The ambiance, though still finding its rhythm, exuded warmth and charm, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, the attentive service added to the overall positive impression. With a touch of fine-tuning, Turkuaz has the potential to become a standout destination in the culinary landscape. I would certainly recommend giving it a try.

Absolutely beautiful meal and great service today for lunch. Myself and my friend were made to feel very welcome. It’s a stunning old venue that has been decorated tastefully and really looks something special. All the food we tried was delicious and fresh. Best dish for me was the calf’s livers which you don’t see very often on any menu and it has been cooked perfectly. We had a side of feta salad that was also huge and really good value. We had a small dog with us and she was offered water. Thanks we will be back soon!

We were taken out for dinner by some very long term friends who had been staying with us. We were keen to try this new restaurant but, for me personally, I was nervous given the "iconic" nature of the building they had taken over. Loch Fyne, the previous incumbent, was one of my favourite restaurants in Winchester!! I did not need to worry on many fronts. The refurbishment of the building was very tasteful and totally in keeping with its history. The menu was innovative and the food was of a very high quality. Finally, and often a deciding factor, the staff were so welcoming, friendly and informative. We'll definitely be back ...... oh, and by the way, the Turkish wine is excellent.

Excellent food, service, ambience at a very fair price. We all had a great evening. The staff are fantastic, we had a variety of starters and main courses which were all exceptionally good. The Turkish wine is also nice, and very good value. We especially enjoyed the white, and the red was good too

Visited for the first time, since it eventually opened, and what a fantastic experience. The staff were exceptional and, as for the word, what can I say; wonderful and we will definitely go back.

Great setting with good decor leading to a good ambience, although a little bit wannabe Sheesh'.. Service was awful, need a decent front of house, took 30 + minutes just to get seated and we had a reservation, it felt they were missing a trick with the bar right at the entrance and not inviting us in to order a drink. However, food was epic but had to chase for our main twice with over an hour wait.. appreciate it's just opened so feel it should been given a chance to improve..

This has been a long time coming and we have been looking forward to it opening. We had a great welcome, the service excellent and the food delicious The digital dartboard is nowhere in sight . It is on the floor above the ground floor and people using it will go in the front away from the normal eaters. The interior is a contrast to the barren interior we had when it as Loch Fyne which was very barren. We had the first dish on the speciality menu and thoroughly enjoyed
