A wonderful cafe set in the bustling heart of Old Amersham. This cafe is the perfect escape for a lovely coffee and cake with company or with family and friends.

Very popular eatery in this most attractive old town. Somewhat small and cramped and often almost full, this venue is successful due to the high quality of food ( much of which is of a healthy nature0 and the friendly and helpful staff. Parking easy just outside or in car park very near by. Recommended.

Really, really surprised by the bad attitude from I assume what was the manageress. The other staff were good. I asked the lady a genuine question about vacant tables and the fact they’d turned so many people away. Her response was unpleasant, rude and not what you’d expect from a manager. She went as far as saying they don’t need the money….in my mind this means we don’t care about customers as we have enough repeat business already. I will not be going there again and I feel a few other people who heard/saw the way she responded will also not return. It’s a shame because the food was tasty.

Always a great ambience inside to accompany the yummy ozone coffee. I love my coffee and this is definitely the best in the area. Always consistent, and staff that seem to really enjoy what they do which makes this place so lovely. It IS card only, but they DO have that plastered everywhere. I have no issue with that though, as many places nowadays have gone down that route.

I think the last two reviews must've had a terrible day, as this is one of our favourite places to go for great coffee and great food. We've NEVER had an issue with the staff, the venue is quaint, cosy and the vibes are very welcoming. Can't say more other than it'd be lovely if they had more room to seat people as it does get busy on a weekend... but its always worth the wait. Ignore the Karen's, guys... love your work! We keep coming back for good reason!!

Popped in with my son for a quick lunch at 2pm- no room at the inn as the small table in front of the kitchen prep area was being held for 'walk ins' - the atmosphere has so changed lately here- what a shame. Snotty and patronising manager who wasn't budging. Oh well. As always a warm reception at Seasons and a lovely late lunch.

The prices were astronomically high and the cake portions tiny. The coffee was bitter and the worst I’ve ever experienced and the window area was full of flies, as none of the front bay windows appeared to open to ventilate the place. Opposite where I was sat there were splashes of coffee on the wall that were dry and clearly been there for some time. To top it off I witnessed, what I assumed to be, the manager arguing aggressively with an old chap who wanted to pay in cash. Clearly the chap was bewildered and couldn’t understand why his money was no good, but the manager insisted on a card payment even though he was told the chap didn’t have a card. I’ve no idea how this ended as we were leaving as it happened. Overall our visit was an awful experience and we will not be returning, there are plenty of other coffee shops in Old Amersham. Avoid.

Simply average is all I can say about this establishment. We entered, yes, the cakes all looked great, but staff did not look happy and the music was so loud it was actually irritating and not calming to match the vibe I think they wish for . When it came to asking for a third chair, instead of a small stool at a table, you would have thought we asked for the Earth. The staff member was so dismissive and said she would have to speak to a manager. Yet the place was empty and had 30 minutes until closing. Looking back, we should’ve just got up and gone. It would’ve been simpler. The cake we had was fine, but considering we had three cakes and 2 cups of tea, the bill came to £25 and what was even more annoying is that there is a service charge added to the bill. They did not say it was optional. They just put it on. So you would not know it’s there unless you ask for a receipt because they presume you don’t want one. Then when I requested a receipt I was issued with the wrong one, which I only noticed when I got home. Now let’s talk about the bathrooms-I don’t think I’ve been anywhere so disgusting water all over the floor. Questionable as to whether it was from the sink or someone made a mess in there, but either way a small cupboard toilet needs regular attending to. So much so that my friend wouldn’t even go inside and we had to go to a pub, not far from the place. Absolutely I could not go back out of principle on cost cleanliness and the staff attitude. Sorry guys - your cake might be okay, but that was all and it was not worth the entire experience.

One of several small intimate eateries in Amersham. As dinner was already scheduled for the evening, only a light lunch was required so the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels ticked the boxes perfectly. The menu is realistic for the size of the establishment where Chloe and her colleagues provide excellent service. Pricing is sensible throughout Two notes of caution - cards only, no cash and watch your head on the low beams

It was late afternoon so not that busy yet the toasted sandwiches were so overcooked as to be inedible. Neither were the correct ingredients in them. The kitchen assistant who made them was talking and laughing to himself and I wondered if he was ok? We felt the cost did not match the poor quality of the food. The cake I had was flavourless and dry. The only decent thing was the coffee. Where are the wonderful staff theybused to have? People will not pay a premium for this appallingly poor quality.

Ludicrously overpriced, not matched by the range or quality of food. Charging nearly £4 for a pastry and a similar price for a tiny latte. Calling it artisan doesn’t justify it either. DO NOT EAT HERE!! The visit started well with a nice coffee then quickly started to decline when I ordered food. I ordered a bacon sandwich and asked for it well done. When I received my sandwich the bacon had barely seen any heat so I politely asked the waitress if they would mind cooking my bacon some more. After waiting 15 minutes when my sandwich was delivered, the bacon was beyond well done, literally like leather. but I didn't want to cause a scene so I started eatting the bread and chutney, when I opened the second half of the sandwich to take the cremated bacon out there was what looked like a couple of public hairs. I've never been so disgusted, I left the place and was sick outside. I cant beleive I had eaten nearly half of that sandwich. I hate to think about what the 'chef' done to my sandwich. The waitress refused to touch the hair without a napkin. Honestly gross - AVOID!

Just had the most ridiculous experience at this cafe. Met two friends, all three of us heavily pregnant. We all bought a hot drink and cake (separately) and when I ordered mine and paid the young girl said she would bring it over (as they did with my two friends). As we all sat at our table chatting the items arrived one by one very slowly, apart from my carrot cake. After a good 10 minutes and watching the staff keep serving other customers we reminded them we were waiting for one carrot cake. They seemed to acknowledge this yet we watched them ignore us for another ten minutes to continue to serve other customers. Meanwhile my friends had almost finished their cakes! After another reminder and another 5 min wait they finally brought the cake over. Hurrah! Or so we thought. Then 20 mins later a young chap came onto shift to join the two girls and was sent over to our table to ask me to pay for my cake?! I politely informed him that the cake was paid for and to check my receipt from the till. He proceeded to print off my receipt which clearly shows that I had paid for a decaf tea and carrot cake. That was the end of it no? As we were packing up to leave he came over to our table once more asking me to pay for my second piece of cake!!!!??!! Obviously this had become quite annoying and I explained I only ever had one piece of cake and that the cake we kept requesting was in fact the one and only piece of cake I had paid for that took 20 minutes to arrive! He went back to confer with the two young girls working there who all proceeded to look over in disbelief (like I was some kind of cake thief!?), no apologies, no explanation just moodiness and stroppy unfriendly glances. I strongly suggest the staff here learn to remember the orders properly or work to some kind of system so that they avoid this unnecessary nonsense in the future, and also some manners wouldn’t go amiss! The young chap was polite and we felt bad for him being caught in the middle - the girls serving us should have sorted it out. Terrible service which tainted an otherwise nice coffee and cake date with friends!

My girlfriend and I popped to Grocer for lunch, as we don't live too far away, and fancied somewhere not too expensive with good food. My dad recommended Grocer to us, and he always eats at good places, so we knew that at least the food would be good. It was busy, but on a cold day, you know the ones with the low golden sun, it was great to slide in and grab a table almost instantly. A nice tea helped us to warm up, and the friendly staff made us feel welcome. The food was delightful, my girlfriend had the chorizo and avocado thing, which I think she loved. It was everywhere so she must have. I had a chicken and cheese toastie (I think hers was a toastie too) which was rammed with so much food, it was wonderful - rare you get such good portion sizes, but Grocer didn't skimp at all. Today (Sunday the 11th of November) I had visited the Grocer at 15 and left quite unimpressed. The only staff member that seemed to know what they were doing was a young gentleman doing coffees. The other staff members looked frazzled, clueless and had a lack of care of what they were doing overall. The lady on till somewhat seemed to know what she was doing but looked anxious, stressed and on edge the whole time my order was being taken (obviously visibly showing stress over the hectic nature of the shop). I even saw the man doing coffees having to pause on his long line of orders to tell the other staff members what to and how to do basic tasks around the shop which shows a lack of training that the owners of the establishment have provided. The only saving grace to this review is the fantastic coffee and great food (although quite overpriced). I can only suggest to train your staff members better from what I had saw as my items came at quite an unreasonable time. I understand it was a busy day but SOME staff members were clueless, emphasis on the some as the girl on till and man doing coffees that seem to know what they were doing, and I feel like that needs to change as it left me with the impression of a lack of care (from staff members and the owners).

Terrific food, helpful and friendly staff and a great atmosphere. A very popular place. There are also other 'Grocers' cafes in the area including Gerard Cross.

We stopped at The Grocer for lunch one Sunday in June. There were no tables for four and we had to share a large table with other people and sit on stools. We were told that they had run out of white bread and only had seeded bread left which our son is allergic too. After much debate they agreed to do a toasted bagel instead. The food was OK but nothing special. My wife and I had what was described as an open tuna and avocado toasted sandwich which turned out to be a slide of toasted bread with avocado and about a whole tin of tuna piled up on it. It was quite tasty but not quite what was expected. Having said all of this, the staff were very friendly and tried to be helpful within the constraints of their limited men and there particular way of doing things.

Just love love love selection of cakes on sale here, and quality of their coffee. Specialises in gluten free too. I had an orange gluten free slice (I'm not gluten intolerant, but I just loved the look of it!) It was incredibly moist and delicious. My husband had caramel cake and my granddaughter had a Portuguese tart. The food was so srummy, we decided to stay for lunch!

I often work in or near the beautiful village of Old Amersham in Buckinghamshire and have eaten in most of the restaurants and pubs in the high street but thought to try the Grocer recently.

Have made many visits to the shop and decided to try out ordering from the catering menu for a family event - food prepared by the chef Zuzana and manager Alessandro was delicious! Great customer service, would definitely order catering again!

A spur of the moment decision made today to eat at The Grocer at No 15 is probably one of the best decisions I have made recently! Amazing choice of salads (not the boring lettuce, cucumber etc sort), different types all on one plate. My choices were so tasty, full of flavour and the portion sizes were good. The salads can have beef or chicken added, but sticking to my veggie choice was more than enough My husband had toasted focaccia cheese and chicken sandwich with a delicious chutney - incredibly tasty, made with lovely lean chicken and sustantial in size. Too full for cake unfortunately, all of which looked gorgeous. I can't wait to go back to No 15.

Everything in Grocer is good quality provided with good service, however the prices are exceptionally high and the Coffee in-particular way above market rate.

Saturday lunch with family and we opted for The Grocer at 15. It’s a small place, with old beams and an open kitchen. The menu consists of brunch, sandwiches, salads and toasties with a choice of different breads. The cakes look amazing but my toasted focaccia with goats cheese and roasted red pepper had filled me up, a reason to go back for cake. The apple and lime juice was amazing, really zingy and refreshing although a bit pricy. 4 sandwiches, 1 juice and 3 tap waters was over £32 so a little steep in my view but it was tasty.

One of the few times I actually remarked how nice the coffee was and my wife agreed. She loved her almond croissant and I had ginger and lime cake... Good, but a little dense and could have used more ginger. In the little tin we were brought with our food, the cutlery was dirty and the napkins were damp. Service was excellent and the place itself very nice. Not cheap but probably worth it. Would probably visit again.

My husband and I popped in here for a light lunch. We weren't disappointed. The tables are just about big enough if you are eating. The food was tasty and the sandwiches well filled. I wished the floor had been swept. Dropped food under tables is a little off putting. .

Great food in this intimate gastro coffee shop with a fresh selection of homemade salads and cakes. Their toasted sandwiches are the best ever. Eat in (can be very noisy at times) or takeaway. Always worth waiting to be served.

There are two Grocers in the high street so not sure which one I went into but it was excellent. All food made to order and well presented. I chose the tuna and avocado open sandwich and the filling was very generous. There is a good selection of what looked like home made cakes too. I opted for a brownie which was very moorish . A modern buzzy atmosphere and good service from attentive staff. I shall return !

Last minute pop-in for a Thursday dinner with Mrs G, who is coeliac. We know the pub caters well for coeliacs and were very grateful to have all Gluten Free (gf) choices highlighted by the v helpful staff. Lots on offer but just had to plump for Fish & Chips. Crispy gf batter, proper fat chips, even well-cooked peas and all piping hot. V good, homemade tartar sauce on the side….it was all delicious and just what we needed. 3 bonuses - alcohol-free beers/cider, also got to try ‘frickles’ with spicy mayo (if you’re a pickle fan, you need these!) and saw lovely local friends and their dog. All in all a perfect early evening outing. Very clear it’s popular and we’ll be back for Le Petit Bistro in November. Well done all at The Full Moon, front and back of house. Great to have somewhere so welcome, reliable and good value locally.

I came to Ego at Pomeroy for the first time yesterday ( Sunday 20th October) for my 35th Birthday and I had wished I hadn’t if I’m quite honest. I booked the table of 4 after a recommendation for 8pm. I first rang a head on the evening because I was worried I was going to be a tiny bit late as I am disabled and walk with a cain and my mother also walks with a cain. I was then told on the phone by a lady who spoke very fast that I couldn’t come after 8.30 as the kitchen would be closed which I thought was strange as when I booked I could have actually book past 8.30 but I assumed that the team wanted to get out early so I rushed my family to get there on time. When we arrived at 8.03 were half greeted at the bar and asked to wait at the hosting station but it was quite evident that the staff were sniggering and smirking and look like they didn’t want to greet us. The part of the restaurant that we sat in, was busy and looked like there was only the one server working the restaurant. Although we were told the kitchen was due to close at 8.30 our order was taking just before 9pm. Nearly everything was available except when my partner ordered the STONEBAKED GARLIC PIZZA BREAD with 1/2 MOZZARELLA & 1/2 TOMATO which was on the menu but he was told it couldn’t be done even though he could have had either topping by themselves, it seemed as if the chefs just couldn’t be bothered. Once the food came it, we will admit it was nice the pizza was slightly overcooked but the rest was good. The only saving grace was that our server Georgia was very nice and had to pass on the messages from either the kitchen or the manager who I never saw once on floor. Disappointing to say the least.
