Efes wine & tapas bar in Chiltern

We had a mid-week dinner and was very impressed to see how busy it was. The food was fabulous and the service very attentive.

Bit of an odd place, strange mix of Spanish and Turkish 'tapas'. Service started off well, but deteriorated when people were sitting by the bar and nobody was checking tables. Food was average, don't bother with the mixed starters. Also, when there are more than 4 it is difficult to share dishes. A bit expensive for what it was. A bit difficult to sit because where we were there were sofas, not chairs.

Food and drinks were unreal! Service was very good and the staff were amazingly friendly. Would definitely recommend Efes bar to anyone who wants to go have great food😍✌🏽 10/10

Took my partner here for some food after hearing good reviews was not let down as the food was lovely the staff were helpful and the atmosphere was good the owner even took the time to have a chat to us which made us feel more welcome would defo recommend

I’ve come here as a local multiple times with family, friends and on a date and the food and atmosphere are always superb. I came with friends for a leaving do and we ordered so many dishes which managed to come out all together and tasted incredible. I’m a vegetarian and there were sooo many options for me as the menu is big but my friends loved the kebabs. My sisters and I have said for years that Efes does the best cocktails we’ve had in and around London. The manager & waiters are super friendly and make every customer feel like a special guest. Would definitely recommend.

Sorry guys, used to be good. Waited an hour for any food to arrive, was very substandard , frozen chips , pate?🤔 nibbles came out with main course (nibbles are named for a reason to nibble while you wait for food) which given the time …. Put drinks n our bill that we didn’t have , poor service poor food!

The most incredible experience and something for everyone. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to hold our engagement party, we had 60 guests on Sunday 1st September. Arif, the owner did everything possible to make it the most special day. The staff were incredible, very attentive, always on the move asking people if they wanted more drinks. Nothing was to much and we felt so at ease. People are still messaging me saying how good the food was and can’t wait to go back for a date night. They will tailor every aspect of your special events and make sure your day is one to remember and everybody leaves happy. An amazing place and we’re so happy we chose Efes for our party, thank you Arif and team.

I came to this bar with my friends last Tuesday, we had our mini girls party there and the best cocktails we ever tasted in our lives!! I tried the grilled salmon which was super delicious, the sauce is unbelievable and the atmosphere there is so young and welcoming, not forgetting to mention the super friendly and attentive staff 😅

At little chalfont: Good service but flies everywhere (blue bottles). Trendy place and surprisingly quite full for Wednesday evening. Pricey for small portions, eg Mediterranean salad in a small bowl full of red onions and a tomato for £9. We ordered Grilled seabass and it was fried with fried baby potatoes. Service charge 12.5%

My first visit to this establishment was very impressed with every aspect and I couldn't believe how busy it was on a Thursday night. The food selection was broad from tapas bits and bobs to burgers. Staff were very attentive.

The meat sharing platter for 2 was lovely but would feed 3 hungry people, then you add your veg dishes which again were lovely but by the time you are half way through you're full, especially after the lovely starters, cheesy mushrooms were great but approx. 8 on a plate for 1 person. Would recommend but ask about the portion sizes before you order if you don't want to waste food. Would be great if you could have a half meat half fish sharing platter "surf and turf style", must admit, we didn't ask if it was possible. Overall, very nice.

we went here with two of my best mates and had an amazing time. the food was delicious (highly recommend the pork belly, mac n cheese croquettes and prawn tempura), it all looked and tasted fresh and handmade! the food paired perfectly with their cocktails, especially the grey goose. the cozy atmosphere and friendly top notch service made it a fantastic evening. highly recommend!!!

We eat out very often at many different restaurants and decided a Tapas was a good idea so having googled Tapas close to home Google came up with Efes Wine and Tapas Bar in Little Chalfont on a Sunday evening. We ordered a nice bottle of white wine, then some Halloumi and the Tapas special. We had just started to eat when the waiter asked if the food was ok, I hadn’t yet had time to try it so I just gave him an affirmative nod. We both agreed that the Halloumi was just warm and too rubbery to enjoy, The Chorizo was rough cut in pieces 3/4” thick, the King Prawns were overcooked and the Mushrooms Al Ajilo had barely any flavour of garlic. Altogether a very disappointing meal, we conveyed this to the waiter who arranged a 20% discount for which I thank him and we left. I would not recommend the food we had as in my opinion it was perhaps not freshly cooked and not of good quality.

Amazing place for a baby shower!! The way the manager set out the chairs and tables and took control of the decoration for us was spot on especially where we had a-lot going on was a stress relief for sure. Got brilliant feedback from family and friends about the venue with the decor and food. Food was unspeakably beautiful. We got the cold and hot tapas with cheeses boards. Staff was there to assist as of when which was another stress off mine and my partner’s mind’s and more so there was enough parking which was nice. Really recommend…

Another great visit to Efe's. As always the food, service and ambience were excellent. Francesco and the team are always so attentive and helpful and the food is delicious. Also a belated big thank you for the superb birthday lunch for my wife and fifteen family members a few weeks ago. Everyone, of all ages 12 ~ 75, thoroughly enjoyed it and it all went like clockwork. Many thanks to everyone at Efe's and see you again soon .

Really lovely leisurely lunch. Very kind and friendly staff who served us. Chilled atmosphere. Mix between Greek and Spanish. Loved the prawns and sangria. Felt like we were on holiday. Beautiful decor.

Food was delicious and prices not extortionate considering the quality. Some really interesting tapas and excellent vegetarian options. First class tiramisu and cheesecake. Very friendly staff/owner and nice ambience.

I just want to thank you so much for the wonderful food and hospitality. First time visiting, will not be the last! The owner is a great guy, and he happily made adjustments to the set menu items for us to enjoy. Thank you again, see you very very soon.

Fantastic lunch. Hadn't been here before - will definitely return soon. Wonderful service. Very friendly without being intrusive. We had the seafood platter. Very good. Wine list reasonable - a number of ok priced bottles. Served perfectly - chilled glasses, proper ice bucket with actual ice. Premises seemed to be spotlessly clean. Couple of points - there were shell-om prawns in our dish. So a finger bowl would have been good. We didn't get a check back (is everything ok). Had we had this, I would have asked for mayo or tartar sauce. No problem but would have been nice. When the bill came, I examined it. As I always do. Waiter brought the menu so I could check the prices. I didn't need this but I thought that was a nice touch. I would recommend this lovely little restaurant with no hesitation. I am looking forward to a return visit.

Had a lovely meal here last weekend! My friend and I really enjoyed the Bellini’s and Mac & Cheese croquettes!! The place is beautifully decorated and the staff are so attentive, especially the guy with curly hair (sorry I didn’t catch your name). Thanks so much again for a lovely evening!!

Expensive place!so so food quality

I booked a private party at Efes and from start to finish everything ran so perfectly. Arif was fantastic at helping recommend menu options and suggested seating plans etc. On the day Chloe & Ricardo couldn’t have been more helpful along with ALL the staff! They really know how to cater for a party and the atmosphere was great! Had so many comments from friends & family on how amazing the staff were and nothing was too much trouble. Food & drink was incredible as always!!! If you want fab food, brilliant staff and great atmosphere this is the place to come!!!

Good service and good atmosphere with the customers but the food is poor. The main kebabs are okay, nothing amazing, the starters are quite poor quality in my honest opinion. We had jalepeno bites and garlic mushrooms which seemed just like supermarket quality stuff with a big mark up.

we have visited Efes tapas many times, staff are always friendly and we ate there 24/01/24 and the usual dish I love , was not on the menu, but they made it for me upon request. very happy with the service. food was delicious as always. will be returning. was impressed with customer service to accomodate me.

Beautiful food at a reasonable price, even that alcohol drinks are reasonably priced. Really enjoyed myself tonight. You can really see why it’s hard to get a booking here.

We organised our 14 year olds birthday lunch and have to say it was superbly delivered by Ricardo and the team. Great food, lovely service and great atmosphere!! They even did a cake presentation we had asked for and let the children stream their own music via their sound system. Thanks team Efes for a wonderful lunch!

Without doubt the worst tapas I’ve ever had. Straight from the freezer to the deep fat fryer. Nothing fresh or home made, all pre prepared and tasteless. Croquettes, the staple of any tapas restaurant were rock hard. The whole place smells of burnt deep fat fryer oil and the service is underwhelming. It’s honestly hard to believe the good reviews on here are of the same restaurant. Extremely disappointing and way overpriced for what it offers.

Great cocktails, friendly service, decent food although looked more flavourful than it tasted, busy buzzy vibe on a Saturday night which is hard to find around this area. Would return.

Table booked for 8pm, our starters arrive around 9pm, then our main not until about 10pm, which was more of an overcooked bbq!. terrible service and terrible food. Such a shame as we were all looking forward to it.

Genuinely one of the best restaurant's around!!! Me and my wife have always enjoyed tapas and have been on the lookout for one that had the right quality and atmosphere. We first tried efes about 18 months ago and it has never disappointed. The food is excellent, quick and attentive service with the staff always very welcoming. Portions are large and very fairly priced! It is now a favourite of ours where we have taken friends and family ever since so they can sample how amazing this restaurant is! A special mention for the owner arif. He has always looked after us when we come and takes time out of his busy service to have a chat and see how we are. We love it here and we are often there a couple of times a month its that good Cannot recommend highly enough. Look forward to coming back soon !

First time here & loved it! We went on a Friday night. It was busy but service was still quick & efficient. Great cocktail choice. The food was fresh, tasty & big portions. Lovely atmosphere. Will defiantly be returning. Special shout out to the owner who was very friendly & chatty. We had a great evening. Thank you.

We had a family lunch for my husband birthday and we loved the atmosphere, the guys were so welcoming and suggested the best plates. I mentioned that I would like to enjoy one day a Borraquito there as a dessert drink( liquor coffee usually served in Canarias)

Overpriced for what it is and confused about what it’s trying to be. American, Spanish, Greek, Turkish? My friend ordered a burger and for £13 it was underwhelming. It wasn’t served with any chips or salad, just a burger on a wooden tray. I ordered the chicken skewer for £8.95. It was 5 small cubes of chicken with two slices of grilled pepper and one slice of aubergine, not even a small salad garnish or piece of flat bread to accompany it. I would have rather paid £2 extra for some rice / bread. It feels like they are trying to upsell on sides, rather than charging a fair price for a well rounded main. The Padron peppers were good though and service was ok. Maybe we should have just gone for the Tapas.

Good food although drinks make it over priced.

This was our first visit ( group of 10) for my daughters birthday. The food was great, and really good size portions. Top service and really friendly. Food came out hot and all at the same time which is so good when there is a big group. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, Everybody loved it at Efes and we will be back and recommending to all our friends.

The staff are very friendly and professional. The ambiance is nice, modern and fresh looking. The Sauvignon Blanc we had was nice. The food was below average particularly the tasteless babaganoush (not smoked) and tasteless patatas bravas (no spice at all). I wouldn’t recommend it for food, but maybe just the vegetarian options are made bland?

Celebrated my 40th birthday at EFES and it was wonderful! Arif made sure everything ran smoothly as he promised and it was night to remember! All my guests had an amazing time and they complimented the EFES team a lot! Overall it was a great experience and definitely a place I recommend for private venue hire! Thank you EFES team for making my birthday so special!

The meat board was disgusting and the parma ham / prosciutto was old and turning yellow, the chorizo was hard and not easy to swallow as if it’s been refrigerated. They had mac and cheese croquettes were most definitely store bought. All the food wasn’t fresh, it most definitely didn’t taste fresh at-least, chicken skewers was rubbery and patatas bravas was overly large unappealing to even look at, disgusting food. If they think this is okay to be serving this type of food to their customers their manager needs help. Service was appalling, a couple sat behind us had their starters we ordered and they bring us our food and they were still sat, waiting for their main for about 40 minutes which was just a lamb skewer ??? I don’t really want to be hearing the bathroom toilet flush when I eat either, the only decent thing I put in my mouth when I came here was hummus and bread. Couldn’t even bring a good bottle of wine out. Don’t waste ur money on this overly priced food that isn’t fresh or authentic but a disgrace to the area. Save your tastebuds.

Very nice food and very good service, we mostly ate the Greek food and found it great we had a platter so lots of variety. I didn't have any alcohol but it looks like they had lots to choose from and at a good price. Only downside was it was a bit hard to park. Luckily I was able to park outside the shops as it was after 6.

Meal wasn’t too bad but the prawns taste bland and not as described, they always taste like they are going out of date, the order was brought out wrong twice and just the service all round wasn’t great tbh. It’s a shame as it was fantastic when they first opened.

Lovely little place. Nice atmosphere and lovely staff. I thought the food was very much not OK. Ordered a good variety to try and wasn’t blown away with anything. Portions are huge, but generally lack taste. Quite pricey however the portions are very generous. The avocado salad was nice. The rest of the order not so much. Probably stick to just having a drink here.

Fab night celebrating a birthday. As usual the Efes team were attentive, nothing was to much trouble…. It was a packed evening and not once did they drop the ball! Food - delicious, atmosphere - fab. All round great night. Try this little gem - we love it!

Service was good. Some of the food could have been better and some was really good. The patatas bravas was good, however the potatoes were too big, the grapes with the cheese were quite soft and I wasn’t expecting the berenjenas fritas to be flat like that I expected them to be in stick form, these weren’t crunchy at all, so the texture was quite off-putting. However I highly recommend the Cinderella cocktail and the salads and padrón peppers were nice and crunchy unlike most places make it too soft.

We had a great afternoon at Efes celebrating my dads 70th birthday. Arif was so helpful leading up to the event and gave us ideas and suggestions to help us plan out all the food and drink options for our 30+ guests. The venue is spotless and the staff (Arif and the team) are so welcoming and friendly... even helping us fill helium balloons. Of course, the food is too notch too... wonderfully fresh, tasty and there was plenty of it too... none of our guests went hungry! If you've not visited Efes yet, I recommend you do it soon!

GEM OF AMERSHAM! Lovely little restaurant/bar with outside seating area. Very attentive and friendly staff who actually stop to see how you are engage in conversation rather than running round like headless chickens. Waiter was so accommodating to dietary requirements and I'm not the easiest person to deal with. Food tasted fantastic and the presentation was amazing. Hope they expand and open more. Would recommend without a doubt!

Great atmosphere and good food .

The staff are great and the service is brilliant. The wine we had was gorgeous and we enjoyed a couple of cocktails also. The food wasn't the best for me. We ordered a meat plattter, and it was quite dry. However the lamb cutlets were really tasty. We also had an avocado salad which was beautiful and fresh. The flatbread was also really nice. I'd go again and try another dish as the service and drinks were excellent

Birthday dinner last night, great food and service. Chicken liver dish was amazing, really nice Rioja and even a bottle of St Austell Pale Ale. First time visit, definitely going back.

"WHEN FAT PEOPLE LEAVE YOUR FOOD" I am past fifty...have been to Spain dozens of times... and adore tapas. If you are looking for authentic Spanish food, this ain't it. I really didn't want to make a scene as I am huge and people get worried if I am even a bit stroppy... so we politely waited a half hour after we ordered and ate it. We ordered Pyrenean Pate, Tortilla, Bravas potatoes and meatballs and chicken skewer. The pate came on a wooden board that could no way have been as clean as a plate, EIGHT SLICES...of rubbery meatloaf that just tasted of the fatty lumps...and count it ONE piece of toast, four inches oval. The tortilla was so low in egg, I have no clue how it held together and basically was nothing but potato. No eggy binding, no perceptible pieces..just slab of fried potato, with almost none of the peppers mentioned on the menu description. The Bravas potatoes were not cut like every other portion I ever had anywhere. They were huge and had a "can you spare it" minor splidge of their excuse for a Brava tomato sauce, instead of dollops of it as it aughta. The difference between different kitchens' sauce Bravas was irrelevant. Again, it was just a pile of cooked potato, with low surface to insides. It was all as if they couldn't be bothered. It gets worse...the four medium sized meatballs were obviously left on the side whilst they burned the chicken on a skewer. I could see the kitchen fill with smoke as they overcooked it. MeJulie said it tasted only of "burned". And so said meatballs arrived all but cold. Trouble is, we were ravening...so we tried. The meatballs were tasty, if we had gone to a Turkish restaurant (we have an award winning one near us that we adore) as they were reeking of cumin spice! As 'Spanish' as a pork pie. And last of all... the eight quid's worth glass of Sangria was half filled, mostly ice and even a strawberry on the edge of the glass (as pretentious as that damn hang-it-in-the-air skewer or that insanitary wooden board) couldn't make the plain mean measure of actual red wine in the mix, any more than parsimonious. I left lumps of that rubber pork loaf..and MeJulie left the tortilla. I am not a bloke who doesn't normally finish his dinner but this just ground to a halt. The decor was a weird try at "wine bar" but just seemed dull and dark...and the service was glacial. Unless you were ordering cocktails. I feel embarrassed and ashamed. I read the menu, looked and then got it so wrong. The reviews are fabulous. But yes...if you care about authentic. This is not it.
