Efes wine & tapas bar in Chiltern

Lovely place, great food, friendly staff. Had a very enjoyable evening and would definitely recommend.

This place was highly recommended by friends of mine so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Well it certainly didn’t disappoint and I have to say I couldn’t fault anything from the cleanliness of the restaurant to how friendly the staff was to the variety and great tasting food.So now I’m passing on the message to others saying that I ‘highly’ recommend Efes so book a table and you will see I wasn’t wrong!

What is not to like., first a visit to the local craft beer shop for a couple of beers then to this wine bar. After months of lockdown what a great release this was. Very efficient and friendly staff served my wife and I hot and very tasty fare. Great to revisit such a place serving great food. Independent business that deserves all the support it can get. I wish I could give more than five stars.

Went to Efes this evening for a wonderful reunion with my sister since lockdown. We were not disappointed. Great staff, great meal, excellent service. We will be back!!!!

First visit this year due to the current situation. After ordering our tapas my wife and I realised what we have missed. The place was full with every table used but we felt perfectly safe. The atmosphere was great with customers enjoying their evening. Service was excellent provided by the friendly and clearly well motivated staff. The manager/owner makes everybody feel special and highly valued. Great menu catering for all tastes, the important issue is that the food is very flavoursome and portion size is generous. Table booked for New Year’s Eve, job done !.

This was my first time visiting Efes wine and tapas bar, and it will not be my last, the food was amazing, you could. It fault it one bit! The service was great, all staff in the restaurant were adhering to the rules and made you feel very comfortable, would highly recommend!

I really enjoyed our food and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and tasty. We have multiple plates and the highlights were: Beautiful, tender lamb kebabs, moist chicken kebabs, halloumi, Mac cheese croquettes, King prawns in Chilli oil (Wow!)I will definitely return. I love visiting Efes. The tapas is always so tasty and the portions are a good size. It always makes for a great evening out with friends. The atmosphere is cosy and I’ve always found the staff friendly when I go.

Ignore the bad reviews guys! This place is a GEM. Food is incredible - far from ‘tasteless’ I don’t think I’ve even considered asking for salt! Jalapeño sticks are lush. Staff are amazing, Arif is extremely friendly and welcoming and Johnny makes the best cocktails! I highly recommend the ‘elder and wiser.’ Atmosphere is also great - always have music playing, giving the restaurant a holiday feel. Best place in bucks for couples, families and friends! Highly recommended!

The tapas here is all cooked from frozen and really really poor considering their prices! Honestly I was surprised how bad it was due to reviews it gets but I wouldn’t recommend at all. Everything is tasteless I’ve never added so much salt to dishes on my LIFE. Urgh

I was in visit to London a week ago. It was for the second time when I was at this restaurant, but like in the another visit, good service and very good food . I will definitely come back.

To celebrate some good news, and the last night of “Eat our to help out”, we booked over a week in advance for a table - but to get a table outside would have required booking much earlier. This is a very popular tapas bar, and it is no surprise to learn the food is exquisite.

Had a very nice dinner here. Food was excellent! Will definitely be coming back. Staff also great, lovely people. A local gem!

Efes is an excellent venue. Go at lunchtime during the week and you get undivided attention and a very relaxed atmosphere. Their burgers are really superb and their chips are 'to die for'. An inexpensive mid-week treat!

Lovely food, reasonably priced, good service and ambience. Free parking nearby (restricted to an hour).

I was in visit to London a week ago. I came here because a friend recommended me. I phoned before and a meal was booked. I was pleasantly impressed by the service and the food was very good. I will definitely come back.

We visited last night. We booked on Friday evening and as such weren’t guaranteed a table but there was space at the bar. A member of staff rang me on Saturday to confirm we were happy that it was a bar reservation and not a table but stressed that we would get the first available table. We arrived and sat at the bar and within 10 minutes were given a table. The tapas was delicious as were the cocktails and wine. The customer service was outstanding. We’ll definitely be back soon. A wide selection of tapas / meze in a Turkish style. Was all very nice, highlights were the squid, skewers and king prawns. Nice place.

Living in Little Chalfont my wife and I went out for my birthday on foot to the craft beer shop then onto Efes wine and Tapas bar for a spot of dinner. We have been before and as usual food and service was spot on. Great welcoming manager and very efficient staff. Food arrived hot and very tasty, we started with the meat platter then various cheeses, salad and a potato dish. Last time we went to Spain we had vastly inferior food that the locally laughingly called authentic Tapas. We walked home very happy and satisfied with our evening out.

5 of us visited on a Friday night. The welcome was friendly, the table was comfortable, service was efficient, drinks were nicely made, or just nicely cold, food, from a quite eclectic menu, was really good. Was busy (full) - will definitely try again

Great place not well known in the Rickmansworth area but attentive and friendly staff offering great service, lovely wine, delicious food and just overall an excellent dining venue!

Had a table booked for 19.30hrs on a Saturday. Place was packed which is a good sign. My wife and I have been here before so we know what to expect. Serving staff and manager extremely good, very friendly and efficient. We had a variety of tapas all of which were flavoursome and well presented. Having been to Spain earlier this year and tried tapas twice this was far superior. Food was complemented with a tasty white wine. All round a most enjoyable evening was had. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

A visit to efes is always enjoyable. The menu is full of good choices and the food is fresh. The atmosphere and lighting are spot on.

Have been going to efes for a while now, they never fail to deliver, even at short notice. The manager Arif is always professional and welcoming. We had the platter with a few added dishes and once again first class food.

My partner and I had dinner here recently on a Monday night. Despite only 1 staff doing the bar and taking orders, it was mostly efficient. We had several dishes, all quite nice and I especially love the feta triangles that they do - delicious. We will return....

We have been here for pre-dinner drinks before but decided to try the food tonight . The menu is a mixture of Spanish and east Mediterranean, with a focus on sharing dishes. There are good old tapas standards like patatas bravas, prawns, calamari and meatballs and they were all of good quality. We didn’t try the east Med food but on the basis of the tapas we would happily try it next time. Service was prompt and friendly and there was a good choice of drinks. It is not a large place and by 1800 on a Thursday it was getting full. Definitely a place to try again.

That little place seems interesting because looks new, modern and clean, and specially because have tapas offer, so we decide to try it, and was a perfect choice.

Myself and partner love Efes!! We have told friends and family to visit the restaurant, and the outcome is always positive. We normally order the meat platter to share and some other tapas dishes, with drinks included and the price is always reasonable.. The staff are welcoming and the restaurant has a nice and chilled atmosphere. I highly recommend!

Visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday and we all loved the tapas and the cocktails. The staff were really friendly and helpful (we had a gluten free diner with us). The chorizo reminded me of being in Madrid and the potato bravas were as good as any we have eaten in Spain.

We have been with friends to this Tapas restaurant on several occasions it it always busy and has a buzzy atmosphere.

3 girlfriends visited Efes on Tuesday evening and it was buzzing despite it being early week in February, lots of groups eating or just enjoying a beer or a glass of wine. We shared a gorgeous bottle of Rioja, 6 tapas small plates and the bill was just over £20 a head - a bargain. We especially enjoyed the patata bravas, Avo salad and squid. Great service albeit quite laid back. Definitively worth a visit.

I really enjoyed our food and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and tasty. We are the avocado salad, perfectly cooked lamb kebabs, fresh calamari and various other side dishes. I will definitely return.

Booked at short notice for a belated family Christmas meal for 12. As usual the staff were excellent, very accomodating and attentive. The food was excellent and our guests loved the meal. The halloumi was great ( my favourite). Having tried most of the restaurants in the area...this is deffo my go to place for a relaxed, tasty meal oh!..... and a few cocktails. They do a wicked porn star martini!!!!

We spotted this restaurant while on our way to Little Istanbul and thought we would give it a go. The co owner greeted us at the door and even helped me push our 1 year old into the restaurant. The atmosphere was perfect not to over the top but enough to give the impression you are fine dinning.

We popped in yesterday evening without booking. The restaurant was pretty busy, but we were seated quickly and without a fuss. After drinks, we opted for a table of mixed tapas to share that included warm flatbreads & olive oil, chorizo, garlic mushrooms, calamares, chicken/lamb skewers, patatas bravas & more. All were hot, tasty and very well cooked and we sat and chatted and ate at a leisurely pace until we were full & happy. Service was attentive, but not too much, polite, and very good and we then had a good chat with Arif, the young co-owner, who is an absolutely lovely chap. My two sons finished if their meal with desserts and when asked how many profiter rolls comprised a portion by my older son, received the answer “how many would you like?”! I won’t tell you the answer my son gave, except to say that it was larger than a usual portion. However, when the portion arrived, to my son’s delight, it contained that number, plus one! Truly great service, that for the price of a couple of profiter rolls, will ensure we return regularly! Well done Arif! That’s how to run a business!! See you again soon!

Warm and welcoming - Efes serves a pleasing variety of rustic tapas with a difference - all very tasty!

We were on our way home when we decided to stop for a drink The place was buzzing like always and the waiters looked more than happy to serve us even if we did not have food. great place to pop in for meals or just to grab some drinks at the bar. Sure coming back

The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed King Prawns and Efes Special with bottle of Spanish Rioja. Service was quick,very friendly and efficient,Christmas Trees have been put up,lovely place to come and celebrate Festive time,highly recommended.

Beautiful decor, but the staff give this place it's ambience. They are friendly and attentive the wine menu is very comprehensive.

Food was absolutely delicious. Manager “gurkan” was awesome as he made sure all staff attended regularly and don’t think there was any unhappy customers. It was my first visit but sure won’t be my last. Well done guys 👍

If you’re looking for a traditional Spanish tapas restaurant, prepare to have your boundaries stretched at Efes. The menu is a mix of Spanish, Turkish and Greek dishes. The food is tasty and well cooked, the portions are generous, so it’s easy to over order. This is a good suburban restaurant, providing sensibly priced meals. One small issue: we struggled initially to get the attention of the staff, in fact one of us had to get up, go to the bar and politely point out that we were in danger of dying of thirst before we were able to place either drink or food orders. After that things were better. I know it was a quiet Tuesday lunchtime, but ignoring customers doesn’t encourage them to come back. The food here is ok, but there are plenty of other eating options in Little Chalfont.

Have eaten at Efes on two occasions. Food is superb and service good. Drinks are quite pricey so it does make for an expensive evening. I would highly recommend it. A website with prices on it would be very helpful.

Horrible experience, the food tastes like it's all from frozen packets and not freshly prepared. The service seems rushed and is very rude if you haven't booked a table. I thought tapas was meant to be Spanish? but the croquettes have pasta in them? very strange. Do not call yourself a Spanish tapas if you can't even get the basic dishes right. Overall the decor is nice so it is a real shame as the staff and food are not great.

Popped in last minute and was fortunate enough to get a table thanks to the wonderful service, especially from Johnny. The food and atmosphere is ideal for the location, and would highly recommend to friends and family, for either a drink or for a meal. A 5* recommendation.

Went on a very warm summers evening so my wife and I sat outside. Had a variety of lovely dishes including the meat platter, hummus and the salad dish. The flavours and freshness of the food made a pleasant change from our usual diet when visiting restaurants. The Mediterranean flavours combined well with the evening weather. A very enjoyable evening was had by us both. The staff were friendly and attentive and of course we ordered too much.

This is our go to place when we haven't the energy to cook at home! Pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff and above all a huge variety of generously portioned tapas in a mix of Mediterranean styles, particularly Spanish and Turkish influences. This place is a mile from our home and we're not bored with it yet! Great value too.

My second visit to Efes last night and as good, if not better, than the first time.

Had a relaxing, delicious lunch here today with my family of 12 - bifold doors open onto sunny terrace with friendly, helpful staff and really really interesting and good but healthy options from start to finish. Great bottles of rose or whit with it and the guys v happy with their beer.

This tapas bar was recommended to us & it was lovely. It gets very busy as it’s only small so I would suggest you book. We went on a Saturday evening & the only available space was eating at the bar, which I really don’t like to do but that was our fault for not booking ahead. Food was lovely, can’t say it was the best tapas I’ve had but it was nice. Staff were very friendly & it wasn’t overly expensive. Has a nice atmosphere & the service was good.

I have been a regular customer at EFES for a few months now and am highly satisfied. The team are always helpful, friendly and approachable. There is a great selection of wines and tapas, which make this an unique place in the area. It is a great place to sit back, relax and enjoy some great food/ wine and music.

Upon visiting one early evening, met friends inside at the bar, ordered drink, then told, after staying at the bar area, that we couldn’t stand there as it was reserved.... BAR RESERVED !! Wasn’t that busy, and never experienced that kind of comment. So, went to sit on a bench/table, to again be told this was reserved.... upon asking ‘where should we sit ?’

Good food, and polite staff... meatballs and calamares were lovely..... however the skewers which were very tasty were very much overpriced for 1 skewers... other than that a good night out...

Booking a table for 4 (the online booking service 3 days before the visit was really easy to use) for 1930hrs was a pain free process and while it was likely to be a busy evening a table for 4 was provided.

We have only recently moved to this area, and have already been to the restaurant a few times. It's great for just a drink, a coffee, a meal with a friend and if you have a group of people together. You have a great choice of tapas, burgers, salads, meats and cheese selections...perfect to snack on as you chat. Great choice of wines and spirits too, you can't go wrong!

Came here with a group of friends last thursday and we had a great time with outstanding cocktails and brilliant tapas food ! will be returning very soon as the service was very friendly and the atmosphere was perfect!

I went as part of a group of friends based on one of their recommendations having been there before. We were all somewhat disappointed with the experience, the food was okay… Some dishes were much better than others , The cold meze option stands out as being awful value for money and lacklustre. The skewers were lovely however.

We were out in Little Chalfont and in need of a quick lunch. We stopped here for a quick bite to eat. Being a week day lunchtime it was empty when we arrived so had our choice of tables. We sat by the window and enjoyed everything that came out of the kitchen. I can highly recommend the calamari. We all enjoyed what we ordered and polished off with a perfect coffee.

I arrived as a walk-up with my two teenage kids on a friday night, and was warmly welcomed and given 3 seats at the bar. We enjoyed a great meal which was really good value. Lots of choice and large portions. By 7.30pm the place was full of groups and couples enjoying a really nice lively and casual atmosphere. A great place to have as a local.

We have been here once before for lunch but this time we went on a Sat night. The service was attentive and the food was brilliant. Great tapas. The price was really reasonable as well. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Visited this Tapas Bar last Friday for the first time. When we arrived it was very quiet and we could easily talk to each other but as the evening went by, the noise level got higher and higher and eventually we had to leave because we just couldn't have any conversation at all. There were several large groups of women who were obviously having a good time. The food was very good and the staff were pleasant and efficient.

I started eating here when they first opened and almost wanted to keep this place a secret as it's so good. The food is great - especially the tapas. Favourites of ours are the liver, squid, prawns and the salads are delicious. The staff are very friendly and attentive. My whole family go here now - including my 85 year old parents who are always remembered and given that extra special service by the staff which they really appreciate at that age.

Just went to a birthday party here - perfect size venue and great evening.

Visited twice in one week, with family and friends. Nice atmosphere, food is obviously made to order, hot and not greasy. Makes a change from a curry! Bit of a mix up with the order so check the bill! Nice staff, deffinatley worth a try.

We have visited twice in the last month with different friends and on both occasions we’ve had a very enjoyable evening. The staff and helpful and attentive. There is a variety of food to suit most palates and you can pick, choose and mix dishes. Their breads, charcuterie board and skewers are extremely good. During two visits and numerous dishes the only weak one was the meatballs.

Been here a few times with friends and have always enjoyed it. Friendly service and good value food. Sometimes confusion with orders but always rectified quickly. The house white (Spanish) is delicious!!!

Having moved locally six months ago I have regularly visited Efes. The service is excellent.... the food is very good and the drinks menu is broad and priced fairly generously. Always seems to be busy - especially Weds- Sat when you'll likely need to book.

I've been here couple of times with my friends and we really enjoy our time with great wine and food for a resonable price.. lamb skewer is amazing. Last time when i was there they've got a party but wasn't so noisy.. staff very welcome .. we will definitely come again !

We visited on 16/09/17, 4 Adults and 2 kids. The welcome was disappointing, the food was awful, the lamb chops that I ordered medium to well done, were almost raw, the avocado salad was awful. A tapas restaurant is Spanish isn't it, (there wasn't any Spanish beer. The waiting staff were very standoffish almost like they were doing us a favour by serving us. We won't be going back in a hurry.
