Filo Mediterranean Kitchen in Chiltern

I looked for this restaurant and could not find it. Looks to have closed so I wonder why it is still on TA? Shame really as it had good reviews

Wonderful service, lovely choice, lovely food. My only reservation is that, being unfamiliar with it, I ordered far too much, misconstruing the waiter's reservation about it as a comment on my choice not as a warning!

I don’t often leave reviews but I thought this deserved one. Last nights takeaway was a little lockdown treat! Food was around 40 minutes late which was a bit of a shame as by the time it arrived I was VERY hungry. However, the quality of the food was great and I’m prepared to let that go just this once! I ordered the lamb chops which were really nice...food was still hot as it was wrapped well. The chicken to share was really good. Chicken was moist and full of flavour and the breads and vegetables were lovely. The salads were also really tasty and the portion sizes good. The little sweet treats on the house were a nice little touch. I would definitely order again and give the benefit of the doubt on delivery as well as ordering a little earlier than I may usually.

The food here is always great! There is a good atmosphere in the restaurant too and the staff are very attentive. Always given complimentary starters before a main meal which is always a great addition. The food is delicious every time I have been and is exactly the same for the takeaway option too. Would highly recommend!

Lovely food and drinks! Amazing portions, full of flavour!

Popped in to Filo for some lunch and had a delicious chicken kebab and some smaller meze type dishes to share. It was all amazing and my 3 year old daughter who is a big fan of humus said 'best humus ever!". High praise indeed and she would know! Will be visiting again soon!

My new favourite local restaurant, my daughter had been to this restaurant before and suggested it as our first “post lockdown” meal. What a superb find. Spacious tables, kept apart from other diners. Covid compliant and absolutely outstanding food and great service. Our new local favourite! Goats cheese was delicious and fabulous kebabs.

I have dined in multiple times as well as had take away! Food and service is authentic, tasty and delicious! Treat your self ;)

Collected a take away Sunday and what fantastic value for money. The food was delicious. The meat was melt in the mouth tender along with very tasty rice, beautiful fresh salad, dips and bread. Have eaten in the restaurant many times, but would also recommend the take away. Lovely touch as well with the little pot of Turkish delight! Highly recommend.

Very nice friendly and attentive staff. Food is always presented very well and the taste is great too. Enjoy the mixed starter platter they serve in the beginning. Would certainly recommend to visit here. Enjoy :-)

I have just had an excellent takeaway of pan-fired salmon and mashed potato and spinach with asalad. I didn't want to go out, but feel much better after a lovely meal!

Been to Filo multiple times and always forget to put a review on. I think it’s one of the best places to eat in Chesham. Selection of food is amazing, drinks too and the staff are so friendly. They remember us and end every time we go in they ask how we are and how the boys are if they’re not with us. Atmosphere is lovely, you forget where you are whilst you’re in there. Can’t wait to go back....again.

Wide selection of dishes on the menu. Quick, efficient service. Reasonably priced, great tasting food. Highly recommended

Food was good but let down by the interior of the restaurant. Our meal came quickly but some part i.e. the falafel felt a bit dry, but on the whole was fine. The interior seems somewhat confused - part tiki bar, but with random coloured LEDs and music which doesn't fit the theme. Not bad for q quick bite, but have had better Mediterraneans.

The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient.

Best food in chesham great place to visit

Had a great evening on Thursday at Filo with my parents who were visiting us this week - lovely food in a Mediterranean setting with friendly staff - big portions too so be aware of how much you order - had a brilliant time - highly recommended .

King prawn starter was excellent! Nice place all round.

Came here on the back of good reviews. So I had high expectations Unfortunately my expectations were not met. We ordered from the Lunch time deal - two courses for £10. We both had vegetarian meals again because others had said that vegetarian meals were good. We had a lot of food but I didn't feel it was good quality. I would expect this kind of salty food at a cheap café not at a restaurant. It looked like vegi moussaka, it had everything you would expect in a vegetarian moussaka, it looked good but it was not tasty and quite salty. I left half of it and usually take a doggy bag but not today. I also didn't like the fact that the service charge was part of the bill. The service was good, quick, attentive but I left dissatisfied with my meal. I don't think I will be returning or recommending. Maybe some of the other dishes are better but I can only comment on my own experience.

This restaurant has the best Turkish food. But this time around I decided to try something veggie, and was so pleasantly surprised- this falafel was so good. Portion was massive with loads of salad, rice and hummus. Highly recommend. You can’t miss this place in Chesham.

One of us ate from the discounted menu whilst I ate a la carte. The waiters were mindful of social distancing when taking orders and serving food. There were plenty of hand gels available. Our starters were tabbouleh and beetroot with yoghourt. Both portions were generous and olives, dips and warm pitta bread accompanied the starters. The main courses were vegetable moussaka which was a served on a rectangular plate with all the various components neatly arranged on the plate. My dish was grilled sea bass with salad and chunky potato wedges. To drink, I had a very alcoholic cocktail called Long Island Iced Tea and my other half had a Campari and orange. To soften the alcohol affect, we had a small bottle of Perrier too. All the drinks were served with lemon, straws and drink stirrers. The only thing missing was the Mediterranean weather but we can only hope. It was lovely food. The bill came to £59.07 including service.

Recently went to Filo twice, once to get a take-away and once to sit down (21:30). The first time, I was told take away is cash only - I didn’t have my bank card. The second time, we arrived to be told ‘no more tables today’, despite having a half empty restaurant. Really disappointed by the grumpy nature of the staff and lack of flexibility.

Well priced almost authentic, traditional Anatolian fayre. Friendly and most definitely value for money.

The food was amazing, big portions and very authentic flavours. The service was very friendly and efficient as well. Will be returning 100%.

Took my children for a meal at this restaurant - waited apprx 10-15 minutes & had to call the waiter to take our order - asked for water that didn't come until 30 mins later Food was OK - nothing special - over priced - plate of sliced tomatoes apprx £6 - £7 ??? had to ask for the bill on 3 occasions - very bad service on top of that they charged apprx £12 service charges ?? - don't mind service charge as long as the service is top job

Delicious food, friendly service!

UNSAFE practice by STAFF. Blatant disregard for social distance by the waiters here, leaning over customers during service. He thought it funny when I raised my concerns, other waiter seemed oblivious to poor practices too. I left upset. Also too many tables too close together.... food is nice but I will not come here again, I did not feel safe or respected. Not funny during a pandemic

Food was great but a bit too hot upstairs

Had a takeway for 15 people yesterday and every one of them said what great tasting food it was. AND we got a discount for collecting it! There was ony one thing that would have made it better and that was if the dishes had been marked with the number off the menu as it did take quite a while to sort out who's was which just by looking at it! Great food though

Gorgeous food freshly made. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back. Not very busy on the Sunday afternoon we were there which is sign of the times. I hope business picks up again soon as it would be a real shame to lose a such wonderful restaurant.

Dined here last night and was able to have as normal a meal as Covid allows. Food was as good as I remembered and the service was as safe and attentive as you would wish for.

My family and I visited Filo last evening and enjoyed a delicious meal. Social distancing was observed at all times and the waiting staff wore masks. Shall be returning very soon!

My family and I absolutely love Filo's. The staff are very helpful and friendly without being overbearing, nothing is too much trouble. The food is divine, always fresh and flavoursome. My 12 year old daughter is a very picky eater but will order almost anything from the menu as she also loves it, so much so that we held her birthday there two years running. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. If you have a chance to eat there, do so. Otherwise you will be missing out.

Beautiful restaurant with good choice of food.

We had a lockdown takeaway which we collected and it was delicious, just as good as eating in. Mixed kebab is huge and tasty and the cold mezze was fantastic.

The food here is so delicious. Some of the best chicken I've ever tasted. I'd highly recommend the mixed starter and grill

Good value Mediterranean food in the center of Chesham

Had a great meal last night with friends & family. Not been here before but will be returning as food ambiance and service was superb. Highly recommended.

We have had quite a few meals there. Adults only, and two with little people needing high chairs.. the staff are amazing, very helpful, even when we had the baby with us. food is great and not too pricey.

I have been going to Filo's since it first opened and can quite honestly say that the service and the quality of the food is superb. If you love Greek cuisine I would whole heartedly recommend giving Filo's a try

I always enjoy my meals at Filo, the staff are pleasant and polite, the food is really delicious and there is a good selection of beer and wine. I particularly enjoy the Turkish wine, would definitely recommend.

Been here a couple of times now. Some times are cheaper than others due to the midweek offers available but the prices are reasonable anyway. I had mixed kebab with rice and salad. A decent helping and the complimentary bread and dips really goes towards filling you up. Lovely staff too.

Dealt really well with a large birthday group, managed complicated orders and bought starters and then mains so everyone was eating at the same time. Everything was well cooked and good portions, service was responsive but not obtrusive. Happy to split bill between cards and cash.

My son( who lives in Amersham) took us to this restaurant for my birthday meal.We are vegetarians and my daughter is vegan, so were pleased we had enough choice.Started with complimentary warm Turkish bread,olives and chilly dip.We had a selection of starters and mains - Halloumi,falafel,filo pastry,aubergine stuffed,lentil soup,veg. mousakka,rice,bulger wheat etc.Very good tasty food served hot by very helpful,attentive waiters.good seating with high chair for grand-daughter.Will go again.

It was our first visit to Filo and we were pleasantly surprised. Last Saturday evening it was very busy but service was brisk and friendly. We only ordered mains but were provided with lovely bread, olives and a dip as a free starter. A glass of organic Merlot was a delicious accompaniment to my main of Halumi cheese in a cream and mushroom sauce. Coffee and small Turkish delight finished it well.

Good food at a reasonable price

Went here for a family dinner. Nice large restaurant with lots of seating. Very friendly and efficient service. Good food and decent sized portions. Would definitely recommend it and go back there soon.

This was our first visit to the restaurant and my family and I had a really lovey evening. It is a very authentic restaurant, good food, relaxed atmosphere and good service. Some dishes a little over priced but would definitely go back.

Prime spot in downtown Chesham, well executed levantine food, only downer was being sat next to the toilet in an half empty restaurant (after booking) – that said this was rectified after requesting so.

With a friendly welcome great service all evening. The food was superb very well cooked and presented and plenty of it. it was also very reasonably priced we will be going again.

Good food and excellent ambience

Service was great and food was good. On a table next to the ladies toilets which wasn't perfect and the place was full and very noisy [hardly surprising] but overall an enjoyable night.

Nice layout of the restaurant, the waitress was very friendly and helpful, the food was good but my halloumi starter was overpriced for what I received. The other starters looked good ( I made the wrong choice)

This was my first visit to the restaurant and it felt really relaxed. The service from the staff was very welcoming. There was a great selection of food with a few new dishes I hadn't had before. All in all, it was a great place to visit and I will be returning there soon.

Tasty Turkish cuisine. Big, delicious portions.

Have eaten here a few times and always felt the same, good basic cuisine with no frills. Always surprised how expensive the main courses are given they usually consist of meat, rice, salad and bread.

The staff are very polite and the service is quick. The food is nicely presented and delicious. I ordered Lamb Moussaka, it came with rice and salad. You get a complimentary basket of bread and three dips. There is Turkish music playing. It's a quiet place, where you can have a conversation without shouting above the music, it's not too loud. Great!

Fantastic and tasty food, I like the ambience this place has, and the staff members were very nice. Will surely eat here again.

Second time we have eaten here before the theatre. Food good, prices good, service not bad at all. The girl serving must've been on training as she got drinks order a bit wonky but it was soon rectified by a colleague without a fuss. We will be back deffo.

Generally uninterested staff, but nice food

Great restaurant and the service was really attentive. the food and wine were delicious, and the portion sizes were more than adequate. I can't fault this restaurant and would heartily recommend it.

Visited last week and had very enjoyable meal good range of dishes well cooked and served we just had main dishes chicken and prawn casseroles

Excellent choice of food on menu!

We’ve been a few times to this restaurant because the food is clearly freshly prepared and is authentically Mediterranean in the cooking. The service is attentive, efficient, friendly and kind and the prices are reasonable for the quality. It is a warm and comfortable restaurant playing rather good Middle Eastern music. I can’t fault the food or the people there.

One of our favourite restaurants! The staff are always so welcoming and the food is delicious! Usually too much to eat so boxes available to take leftovers home for later!

Very yummy food and great service.

It was our first visit and the service was excellent, very welcoming. The food was delicious, from the first bite to the last bite. Thank you for a lovely meal, we are very impressed.

Evening meal with the wife, wasn't too busy when we turned up and you couldn't really tell when we left. Staff were on hand immediately for any questions and drinks arrived within two minutes.

Hot plates and hot food. Very busy but have attentive staff that care about you. Vert reasonably priced for the area and we both left satisfied. It is a healthy option when you want to dine out, lean meats & salads.

My friend and I went for Sunday lunch as a treat before she went home the following day. We both love Mediterranean food and we were certainly not disappointed! It could have been a mistake to have a starter, because neither of us could then do justice to the delicious main course. All the food was beautifully cooked and presented, and we shall definitely go to Filo again when my friend comes to stay.

We visited your place yesterday with a huge table for a family meal, on arrival it was very busy, staff extremely polite and seated very quickly, it was quite warm and we couldn't see any fans, the more the restaurant filled with customers the more unbearable it got, the whole table was using drink menus as fans to try to keep cool, the seats were not nice to sit on as the material is not good for warm weather let alone extreme heat.

Welcoming and attentive staff, casual atmosphere, good food freshly cooked and efficient service. Will definitely be back. Keep in mind Cash Only if you choose the very reasonable set menu.

The Filo Mediterranean Kitchen compares favourable with the best of them. The service is courteous and friendly without being intrusive; the waiters are knowledgeable; the food is excellent and perfectly cooked and presented. To date, every dish ordered has been competitively priced and of very high standard. Indeed, the lunch time menu is the best value in Chesham: £9.90 for a starter and a main. The servings are very generous and extra flat breads are included at no additional price.

Great service, friendly staff & delicious food!

They don't get a five because there was a problem of some kind and we had to wait ages for our food, I love taramasalata but I didn't like theirs and they give you TOO MUCH food.

They catered to a large group of us and some that were quite late. Very friendly, accommodating, don't forget great food!!!

Had a meal here with my son at lunch time, unfortunately what was printed on the menu and what arrived on the plate for him did not match, very disappointing. Informed the staff of the error and it is still the some months later.
