Having used The Full moon on many occasions both for drinks and meals without any complaints we decided to visit today with my son and grandkids. Having been seated outside we were quickly brought our drinks along with the menu. We then waited an age for somebody to take our order. Eventually we had to approach a member of staff and ask them to take our order. We then waited for our food. Having been at our table for an hour and a half I had to go and find out how long we were going to have to wait. The food then arrived. One member of the group had ordered Fish and Chips which was inedible, the chips tasted awful and the fish was soggy and greasy. That meal was returned and that person went without lunch. I ordered the roast beef which was just ok although the veg looked and tasted that it had been cooked earlier and kept hot. It certainly was not worth the £15 price. The other meals were fine but overall this was not a great experience and particularly as we had enjoyed eating here on previous occasions. I will not be dining at the Full moon in the very near future and it is a shame that I can no longer recommend this establishment to others.

Where do we start. Drink order was incorrect and was advised that it was bottled coke in my rum and coke wrong beer delivered. Starters were good. Then it went downhill - fish and chips delivered were very soggy and looked like they had been cooked in dirty oil, we complained and the replacement looked even worse. Along with the fish and chips we ordered some bread and butter we received artisan bread and dips again asked fir bread and butter and were delivered buttered toast Gave up on the fish and chips. The moules marinara was made with frozen mussels and consisted of uncooked garlic and a tin of chopped tomatoes and was disgusting. The ham egg and chips the ham was exceedingly saltyAll in all a very disappointing meal we were given one portion of fish and chips which was not eaten was removed from the bill and were told hope that sorts it out.We have used this place frequently and have noticed the downward slide of the service and food along with the increase in costs

We went on a Sunday evening of the bank holiday. We had a table outside. The service was good but the pub had run out of some things we wanted. The garden was full of twenty somethings who’d been there for a good few hours and were really loud. Not many people were eating. Only us and one other couple who sat inside away from the noise. I notice another review has mentioned this which means perhaps the pub is attracting a younger crowd as a result of the pandemic. I hope a range of customers returns to support what has been a thriving local pub.

Visited recently with 4 girlfriends for a first night out for a very long time, 2 being new mums. We were seated at 7pm for dinner in a marque tent surrounded by young adults smoking and at first was bearable but by about 9pm we were all feeling pretty ill from the smoke. Social distancing had also clearly gone out of the window in the tent and we were all quite uncomfortable. Food was good pub food but one meal didn’t turn up and when it did, everyone had finished. Not the best experience.

Basic food with too many chips all round. Too much reliance on an unhealthy American style menu. My grandson had a pizza which arrived - with a pile of chips. Clearly Jamie Oliver’s attempts to give children healthy meals has fallen on deaf ears. A little side salad would have been a good option for those who are trying not to bring up obese children. My club sandwich was dry and altogether uninspiring. The staff were very friendly though and plenty of hand sanitiser.

I visited here recently. Sat inside. It was dirty with dead wasps and flies on the window sills with cobwebs to add to the ambiance. Service was shocking. The female waitress was also extremely rude. One hour went by and we still hadn’t had the starters. Eventually the food arrived. £27 for a fillet steak that was below average. In fairness, one of the male waiters did apologise for the wait and gave us a bottle of wine on the house.However....I would suggest closing the doors. Clean the pub. With Covid rampant it should be spotless. Listen to feedback, you may improve. Give the waiting staff more training, especially in manners. Make a plan which is achievable and don’t overbook. Also, staff should wear masks and gloves that are not wrinkled around their wrists. Invest in a proper order pad. Having a scruffy bit of paper doesn’t cut it I’m afraid. To sum upI won’t be returning.

A very nice welcome, having previously booked a table for 2, and shown to one in the shade, thank goodness! Our drinks and food order were efficiently and nicely taken. Unfortunately, despite what the drinks menu included one of the beers that was unavailable, on a Thursday?, and when the good looking food arrived later, we were disappointed to discover that the accompany ‘chips’ were not good. They were very tough on the outside and okay inside. When asked if we were enjoying our meal, we told the young lady about the ‘chips’, she merely said she was sorry. Unfortunately, they spoilt one of our meals. My wife’s meal however, was good - lucky her!

What was supposed to be a family meal out of 4 adults and a toddler we were left very disappointed with the speed of service. We waited an hour for our food to arrive!! We had to ask the waitress twice how much longer we would have to wait, and got the same answer of “just a few more minutes”. I have been into the pub many times for meals and had no issues prior to this, so felt massively disappointed when the service was so slow and the food was below par. The toddler was fed up and hungry and the pregnant lady was starting to feel nauseous. The staff offered no apology until we left with out ordering desserts or coffee which we would normally have ordered, but could not face a possible hour wait for that either. So disappointing!

The childrens play area was a hit as was the children's menu. Mains were beef all round and just when we thought service was a little slow [ busy service day ] the roast beef and all the trimmings arrived. We visited on a warm evening for "burger night" and it was very busy. We waited over an hour for two burgers by which time we were totally fed up and past the point of being hungry. The food, when it came was OK but they'd forgotten one of the sides, but by then we just wanted to eat something and go. The problem with the service seemed to be that as well as having the burger menu, the pub was also selling the full main menu, and a lot of items would have taken a long time to prepare. On a busy night, this is far too much choice and the kitchen just couldn't cope. I would suggest that burger night is just that, with maybe just a couple of extra meals for those who don't want burgers. We may visit again but would choose our time carefully - i.e. not when it might be busy!

We ate lunch 4 May. I sent them an e-mail afterwards with feedback. I've had no reply. The e-mail was:"We ate with you at lunchtime yesterday and wanted to give a little bit of feedback. Please take it in the spirit intended - it's meant to be helpful.Staff were *lovely* - friendly, helpful, really good.We had a Meze, which was fine (and the hummus is excellent). Sadly, the halloumi burger was not good. I think battering the cheese is a bad idea (it grills perfectly well)... but battering it and then frying in oil that has been used to deep fry fish is a *terrible* one. - it makes the burger taste of fish which is basically unpleasant and spoiled the rather nice roasted pepper and pesto.I'd urge you grill the cheese, but if you must fry it, do it in separate oil to stop the fish taste carrying.I'm writing rather than raising at the time because I don't want it to be seen as a complaint; just feedback. Sometimes if it's done at the time, people can be a bit defensive.Anyway, thought you should know and it wouldn't put us off coming back.Kind regards"The lack of acknowledgement *will* put us off going back.

We live down the road and decided to try Sunday lunch at The Full Moon today. We both ordered roast beef which appeared almost immediately. Although we sat near the kitchen door there was no appetising Sunday lunch smell and we didn’t get that with the food under our noses either as it was devoid of any flavour. The plates were swimming in a watery gravy and the beef (which we were told was ribeye) was a gristly mess which neither of us ate more than a few scraps of. We did bring some home for the dog who ate it but he’s not fussy.I had a few carrots which were fine but the roast potatoes were undercooked and the Yorkshire pudding was a nasty dry mass produced thing that wasn’t worth the calories. So we told the waitress who disappeared and nothing happened until we found the manager ourselves. He wasn’t much use and said that he didn’t know what we were expecting. Oddly enough, an enjoyable and tasty Sunday lunch! We have just come home for a Thai ready meal ....

We have used the Full Moon for many years, and sadly it appears to be on a downward slope in terms of food.Have had lots of good meals in the past, but over the last year or so we have had a couple of very average visits, and one whereby it was well below respectable, so much so that I emailed the manager with our feedback. Unfortunately all I received back was an argumentative bordering on belligerent response. I had vowed to never eat there again, but, in the name of supporting local businesses we decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and have another try. Unfortunately it was a wasted leap of faith. We dined last night. My wife and I both ordered ribeye steak (£23 on the menu). I can’t recall if it was advertised as an 8 or 10 oz steak, but what we got appeared to be neither. It was hardly worth asking for rare/medium or well done as it was so thin that 30 seconds on a hot grill would have destroyed it. It was served with “hand cut” chips that were no exaggeration, inedible. More useful for banging nails in walls as opposed to eating. After we’d eaten the bits worth eating (which wasn’t much) one of the staff members collected the dishes. He didn’t seem remotely concerned or even question why we hadn’t touched the chips. We’d also ordered a £28 bottle of red. This was placed on the table with two glasses and the barmaid promptly walked off. No chance of trying it, didn’t even pour it. At £28 for an £8 bottle of wine you’d at least expect your glass to be poured.Overall a real shame as it’s a delightful little country pub with a nice garden which is great place for a few drinks on a sunny day. Unfortunately if you want a dining experience you’re out of luck. Our last 3 visits have been woeful, and last night was our last.I’m not sure where the photos of the food come from, because nothing we’ve been served looks remotely close to those.

My wife's duck was dry and overcooked. Looking for a positive .... Others guests said they had enjoyed the Roast meats. I've been here a dozen over the past year or so as it is local to a number of friends. Each time, my food has been nothing special, but theirs has been nicer, so I figured I just chose badly. Todays visit will sadly be the last - overcooked (and small) fishcake could have been redeemed by a nicely poached egg, and plentiful spinach (as per the menu description), instead the egg was almost hard boiled and the spinach was barely there. When we queried the egg, we were told they were "not allowed" to serve them runny ?! No apology, no offer to change, so I'm afraid Full Moon I won't be back.Shame as it is a lovely old pub in a good location with a lovely garden for the summer.

I agree with many reviewers who mentioned the open front and back doors blowing a gale (we requested the back door be closed!) and that it should be a lovely traditional pub as it's in a good position with lots of parking. However the food for two of my friends today (Goulash) was served with totally inedible 'dumplings' which looked and tasted terrible and represented half the plates' contents. We told the waitress and then had to wait a long long time for ice cream desserts. Our other two meals, Haddock and Sea Bream, were fine. Cappuccinos were served luke warm but by this time we were losing the will to live to complain further. We actually wanted to order another portion to share as we enjoyed the food so much! Both our children thoroughly enjoyed the play area, which consits of two slides, a climbing frame with climbing wall and a little tikes house. Even better was that we could sit in the sunny pub garden, with the shade of an umbrella for our one year old, and still see our four year old enjoying playing with all the other children. Something you cannot do very easily in most pubs.I would definitely reccomend the Full Moon pub, even if just stopping for a drink, the atmosphere is so friendly. As a frequent visitor to the Full Moon, I don't really understand the recent reviews. The Full Moon is an excellent pub with great food and friendly bar staff. Of course, during events and when it's extremely busy it can take a bit of time to get a drink, but that's to be expected as the bar isn't a Weatherspoons sized establishment. Always had a friendly welcome by all of the bar staff (and owners) and the food is top quality. Lovely pub in Little Kingsmill that has fooled me many times over 25 years. You just want to love it. Beautiful age-old bar area, open log fire, beamed ceiling, flagstone floors, enthusiastic locals, well-kept real ales, excellent staff, dog friendly and serving a comprehensive range of food. Sounds great. If everything ticks, you will have had a wonderful English pub experience.Next time round it's December. The pub is too cold for comfort. The 2 inch gap under the door into the age-old bar welcomes the 15 mile an hour Arctic wind, the beer of your choice is off after your first pint and your shared seafood meal is a real disappointment.Nothing outwardly has changed. The punters still flock in, the locals still crowd the barstools, and the diners pull their padded jackets even tighter around them. My quest for a comfortable local pub continues.

The staff didn't really seem iterested she just said that she would tell the kitchen, The bun which came with his burger was burnt and my garlic bread was rock hard but we didn't see the point in complaining as we felt we would have probably have got the same response. Such a shame as we used to love going there.

We LOVE this pub, the beer's great, staff and regulars are very friendly and sitting outside on a sunny day is just lovely. There are plenty of children and dogs enjoying themselves. in our experience they've always been well behaved and mostly under control, and that goes for the dogs too. The only variable is the food, and it's interesting to note from other reviews, it can be hit and miss. The prices also seem to be creeping up each time the menu gets reprinted. As a local I'd welcome cheaper, simpler food from local suppliers done really well. I still love this pub though.

Celebration Sunday Lunch for 6 people including elderly & disabled, was ruined at the start by the shock of finding that the advertised menus on the website for Sunday Lunch and the actual menus issued, were very different prices i.e. 8.95 on website and £13.50 on the day which is a considerable difference. - When questioned the wait staff - the answer was " Oh our website is out of date"Should have left then.We decided to stay and were disappointed even further. The food was very average and would not especially recommend the dessert - the bannofi pie was particularly ordinary ( think even Aldi could do better)We were seated in the bar area (for disabled access) which was full of very loud regulars and so cannot even say the ambience was enjoyable either.Would not recommend to anyone.

When you have such a welcoming landlord it's such a pity to have to say how dreadful the meals and service have been on our last four visits.Last visit four of us came and each ordered a different meal. We each of us left our food after a few mouthfuls. One sent hers back and asked for a sandwich which was still unpalatable. Some other friends tell me that they have stopped going. It seems very welcoming for the local drinkers and still does have a friendly atmosphere but would never recommend eating there.

No sabe qué decir.

We run (hash) ever Tuesday evening come rain or shine from a pubs within a 10-mile radius of High Wycombe, then all meet back at the pub we set off from for drinks, chips, and chat. All the pubs are assessed on 4 categories, (each marked out of 10 points), which we then rank during the year on our website. SummaryA right nice traditional hostelry plying it's trade tucked away down Hare lane, probably missed by many punters but well-enjoyed by locals who are in the know about this little cracker.Beer 8/10[Mick] Now there's a thing, a Rebellion beer worth drinking!! Yup, the Roasted Nuts was very decent as was the Pride. These two manly ales backed up by a couple of "boys" brews - Adnams flat basic and ANO, both at 3.7%. All ales a reasonable £3.70 a jug [Matt] Rather warm inside with the hashers apparently re-enacting the old telephone box game, albeit in a low-beamed pub with a raging log fire….so ‘Roasted Nuts’ was rather appropriate! Aside from Mick’s bar-top wanderings, there was also ‘Gravity’ on, Rebellion’s Winter Beer…..I’d better talk in a whisper now lest Mick overhears me….which was chalked on the bottom of the list and, in the words of Audrey, was ‘bluddi lovely’Non-beer 8/10[Mick] With the L & Soda at 80p for a half or a pint (there's novel) and the coke/pepsi or whatever at £2.20 a pint, there were no sad faces amonst the soft quaffers. [Matt] Well….maybe just Jo, who was looking relatively smug with herself at having paid just 80p for a half, before I shouted over to the barman and asked whether a pint was double that = £1.60? “No guv, we charge the same for a pint or a half - don’t ask me why”Food 10/10[Mick] "Don't worry, I'll do you loads" said the governor, and true to his word, there were heaps. Only the concerted efforts of Kev, who managed six, yes SIX, bowls and Mike the Chomper, who when I told him he was lagging behind went into top gear to outdo even Kev, ensured HWH3 left b.all. [Matt] When the gaffer lights two large bunsen burners and sets a separate table aside, you know it’s professional spud territory….and so it proved, with the first few waves of hashers crashing pathetically against the tidal flow of chips coming the other way. It wasn’t until General Mike positioned himself on top of the enemy enclave and starting picking them off with his usual metronome efficiency, ably assisted by Corporal Kev (Kerry had apparently neglected to cook him his dinner) that the spud invaders were defeated and the hashers good name prevailed. But it was a bit tight for a while eh…..?Hashmosphere 8/10[Mick] As Hashalator Chairman Matt said "a proper pub". Log fire, legendary quantities of chips, good ale, beams, tile flooring and welcoming staff meant a good finish to the evening all round. This on the night when in the good ole U.S. of A. the Dodgy One was beating the Iffy One! [Matt] Let’s be ‘aving you…..this is what winter pubs should be like - warm, cosy, good beer, big portions, and great banter (I’m not including Roger’s Tosca monologue in the latter category though). The main downsides would be the dodgy road outside (locals seem to use it as a hill climb speed test) and the rather squidgy bar area, with most of the rest of the pub being taken over by dining. In the summer these is extensive outside seating, but it definitely wasn’t summer though - still, warmed up by a few pints by the fire with half a tonne of chips and most of us could have sat outside quite happily with our ‘Ready Brek’ glows.
