Last minute pop-in for a Thursday dinner with Mrs G, who is coeliac. We know the pub caters well for coeliacs and were very grateful to have all Gluten Free (gf) choices highlighted by the v helpful staff. Lots on offer but just had to plump for Fish & Chips. Crispy gf batter, proper fat chips, even well-cooked peas and all piping hot. V good, homemade tartar sauce on the side….it was all delicious and just what we needed. 3 bonuses - alcohol-free beers/cider, also got to try ‘frickles’ with spicy mayo (if you’re a pickle fan, you need these!) and saw lovely local friends and their dog. All in all a perfect early evening outing. Very clear it’s popular and we’ll be back for Le Petit Bistro in November. Well done all at The Full Moon, front and back of house. Great to have somewhere so welcome, reliable and good value locally.

On a cool October evening four of us went to the Full Moon for the first time as it's close to my wife's sister's home. It was busy (Friday busy) and was pretty crowded. But the service was first class as was the food. Two starters, four main courses and three puddings were all superb. And the bill was reasonable considering the high standards. We will be going again. Great evening.

We have been visiting this place all summer since we moved into the village. Last night was the first time we had a sit down meal. The atmosphere is really cosy with candlelight and music. The food was amazing quality and very reasonable price. I had fish and chips £17 I would highly recommend this place, it's a beautiful traditional old building in a quiet village. Big beer garden with large heated covered area for cosy winter evenings or summer days. We look forward to going back 😊

Wow! I just had to write to say about the wonderful party food provided for my friend's birthday party at this lovely old pub. The chef did an amazing job - a hot buffet for 30 or so people. The food was really tasty with so much variety and everyone went back for seconds. Some of the food provided was: giant burgers in a bun (halved as they were so big), chicken wings, breaded chicken bites, pork ribs that just fell off the bone, Calamari, cooked to perfection, gorgeous fat chips and new potatoes, salads and slaws. I am sure I have forgotten stuff. We had the tables outside, under the open marquee and were kept warm by the overhead heaters when the strength of the sun started to diminish.

Food: there was no food, on a Friday night. Incredible. Service: lovely staff, only issue they have is their reluctance to have a good sniff of the bogs. Atmosphere: the atmosphere was entirely urine gas, possible war crimes commited upon my nose. Stankest bogs I've ever smelt in my life, a literal assault on my face. Even my drink had hints of slash. Edit to respond to owner: absolutely 1000% sure I was in your pub, I left the review off the name on your sign out front. Definitely the right pub, and I think you may need to check with your staff as someone's telling porkies if you think every night has had food !

The Full Moon, what a surprise visit. Firstly big shout out to Amy and George behind the bar. Tuesday is Steak night, it's a busy one. Despite my best efforts to throw off the chef after my starter and asking for an adtional 5 minutes on a medium steak. It came out perfect. The pepper corn sauce was full of pepper corns. I want to believe it's fresh, it tasted fresh and creamy. Touch of thyme and fresh garlic on the mushroom, rocket and parmesan cheese had feel of Italian restaurant. This place is heaving, plenty of atmosphere and it's a Tuesday. I'm so impressed. Again a massive shout out to not only the chef that was banging out great food while I was sat at the bar, but to Amy and George that were spinning around doing drinks and service like a Covent Garden bar on Saturday. Book a table, take a breath and enjoy.

Judge a pub by how often you visit. After having a simple lunch in here with a friend, I have now been the last 4 weekends in a row. Great to park up, walk the dog then finish with a Sunday roast. The small plates are amazing but for me it's the staff!! You can tell this is family run, everyone cares!! The food is amazing, the choice of beers too, just brilliant. A party of 11 for lunch today. Overall a lovely family gathering. Food could have been warmer but I assume chef waited to serve all 11 dishes together. One negative was the cream on the Eton Mess was off, it smelt of cheese and tasted bad. When it was returned we heard the chef tell the waitress "it wasn't off but served with the same spoon that was used for the cheese". That was an even worse scenario. He must have read the food safety regulations.

The children had children’s meal which were plenty big enough and I love the option of having veg sticks instead of traditional hot veg. I have seen there are a few comments about service. The whole industry is suffering with not enough staff to employ. Please give the staff a break. We didn’t go when it was hugely busy, the service was great. We are lucky to have a good local pub. Independently run. Well done guys it was excellent. My only wish is if the kitchen was open a tiny bit earlier for children’s meals. However I know this isn’t as simple as it sounds. I came to Ego at Pomeroy for the first time yesterday ( Sunday 20th October) for my 35th Birthday and I had wished I hadn’t if I’m quite honest. I booked the table of 4 after a recommendation for 8pm. I first rang a head on the evening because I was worried I was going to be a tiny bit late as I am disabled and walk with a cain and my mother also walks with a cain. I was then told on the phone by a lady who spoke very fast that I couldn’t come after 8.30 as the kitchen would be closed which I thought was strange as when I booked I could have actually book past 8.30 but I assumed that the team wanted to get out early so I rushed my family to get there on time. When we arrived at 8.03 were half greeted at the bar and asked to wait at the hosting station but it was quite evident that the staff were sniggering and smirking and look like they didn’t want to greet us. The part of the restaurant that we sat in, was busy and looked like there was only the one server working the restaurant. Although we were told the kitchen was due to close at 8.30 our order was taking just before 9pm. Nearly everything was available except when my partner ordered the STONEBAKED GARLIC PIZZA BREAD with 1/2 MOZZARELLA & 1/2 TOMATO which was on the menu but he was told it couldn’t be done even though he could have had either topping by themselves, it seemed as if the chefs just couldn’t be bothered. Once the food came it, we will admit it was nice the pizza was slightly overcooked but the rest was good. The only saving grace was that our server Georgia was very nice and had to pass on the messages from either the kitchen or the manager who I never saw once on floor. Disappointing to say the least.

We had a mid-week dinner and was very impressed to see how busy it was. The food was fabulous and the service very attentive.

I looked for this restaurant and could not find it. Looks to have closed so I wonder why it is still on TA? Shame really as it had good reviews
