Ego at The Pomeroy, Amersham in Chiltern

Quick stop between son's Hockey games, I had a tomato soup and a vegetarian meal which was delicious, my son was quite happy with his stone baked pizza

Amazing night out, food was outstanding, superb value for money and a table magician wowed us too. All the staff were fabulous (special mention to Roberto) you Sir are a star and made our night extra special. If you try this place once you will definitely come back. 5 stars not enough :) Thank you

This was our first visit to the restaurant and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The decor was lovely and very clean. The food was tasty, good sized portions and very reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Large car park. Would definitely like to return.

We went to Ego at the pomeroy for lunch today,we had a fantastic experience!The staff were all so friendly,including our waitress Susie.The service was also so quick too.The gluten free menu is fantastic you have so much choice of what to have,there is something for everyone including steak,paella,pasta,kebabs and meats.I went for the prix fixe menu as it and as Saturday and it’s a lot cheaper.It’s great value as 2 courses is £18.95 and 3 courses is £22.95.We went for the 3 course prix fixe menu,it was cheaper to have 3 courses on the prix fixe menu than it is for some mains.For starters I had the chicken liver and rosemary pate,it was so delicious and the bread was tasty and had a nice soft texture.Also I added olives to the side and they were delicious,I especially liked the ones where there were no stone.For mains I had the steak too,Got it medium.The steak was so tasty,juicy and tender.Probably one of the best steaks.The chips were also tasty and well cooked.For dessert I went for the strawberry and passion fruit Eton mess which was delicious ,it was so tasty,the crushed meringue,whipped cream and the sauce made the perfect Combo.I was eating my dessert and then noticed a huge scoop of passion fruit ice cream.I have never ever had passion fruit ice cream before,I liked it had an interesting flavour to it.The decor in here is so beautiful and the grounds are also lovely too,would love to come back in the summer.The restaurant and toilets were really clean as well.It was such a lovely restaurant and would definitely come back again,hopefully in the summer or for a roast.What’s even better is when you join the ego club you can get 20% off your next visit if terms and conditions apply.I would recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment

This restaurant has been one of my favourites for years. We always went there for special occasions. I went there today with my son who’s just turned 18. I did inform them it was his 18th birthday we were celebrating, but they didn’t even say happy birthday to him or anything, which was disappointing. I have coeliac disease and I'm so glad Ego have great starter and main course options, but it would seem they’ve updated their gluten free dessert menu and my favourites, the lemon tart and cheesecake, are no longer gluten free. I’m absolutely devastated. There are now only a few options and they’re not great. The dessert is the most important part of a meal to me. I’m sick of restaurants only offering brownies, fruit or ice cream. I’m now not sure I’ll be coming back to Ego because of this. We’ll need to find a new restaurant to visit for our anniversary as the dessert options, for me, just aren’t cutting it anymore. Today we were seated by the bar and next to the coffee machine, where there was a flickering light. Unfortunately because of my anxiety, I was too scared to say anything, so we endured it. The service was ok, but we had to wait almost half an hour to pay our bill. I was in a rush, so I did get a bit frustrated. It was very busy and there didn’t seem to be quite enough staff. I would look past this however, as normally the service is brilliant. It’s a lovely looking place and the food tastes amazing and well-seasoned. Although, as I said, we won’t be coming back for now until more dessert options are hopefully added to the gluten free dessert menu.

Wonderful service staff, very friendly, attentive, and extremely diligent on timing of service. They are clearly a team that work well together, and have strong management support. Service goes above and beyond to ensure that the dining experience is exceptional. That said, we ordered steak and it was under cooked based on our preference (rare and medium rare). The manager checked in on food quality, immediately noticed something wasn't right and offered to have them recooked. I (requested rare, received blue) chose to keep mine, however my partner had hers rewarmed this time it came back medium well but she was happy with that. The service team chose to make one of the steak meals complementary, without any request which was extremely generous given the way they handled the situation. 100% will return at some point in the future, just might avoid the steak.

Great food and lovely atmosphere

I didn't come. Security is wrong, and I pleased only one beer ( no more). The waitress didn't sell me! I don't know why!

Very good food. Lovely coffee. And a family get together to commemorate Dads/Grandads birthday. A little pricey, but not excessively. Hope to return some day.

Food was mediocre, but a great atmosphere. Enjoyed the magician they had going around the tables. He was both unexpected and unobtrusive.

The fillet steak my wife had was not up to standard, no one asked how our main courses were. Otherwise food and service was very good.

I ordered a goats cheese and caramelised onion pizza. What I received was a basic vegetable pizza with very small chunks of goats cheese which I could barely taste and a few small chunks of red onion - definitely not caramelised. Seriously disappointing.

There is a fabulous menu, plenty of variety and nicely presented. The service is excellent, always accommodating, kind and helpful.

Been here a few times and once for my son's birthday dinner. Never been disappointed. The food is great and so is the service. Gets pretty crowded over the weekends and reservation is suggested. Ample parking in the front and the sides.

Went for lunch, had garlic mushrooms as a starter, very nice, then the pork to follow, a little over cooked with a nice sauce. Coffee to follow probably needs an extra shot in it.

We did not book a table but we're no made to feel a problem. The restaurant was busy. Good freshly cooked. We both had the lemon chicken with a lovely sun blush tomato salad. Friendly and helpful staff. A relaxed, no rushed atmosphere.

The menu was extremely inflexible. I requested a salad without onion and was told they were made up first thing that morning, so this was not possible. I would have liked plain chicken with the salad but as an extra on one menu, again this was not possible. Very unimpressed!

Great location, great service and great food.

A lovely seating area outside and a vibrant atmosphere sure to make you feel welcome. Food wise I’d recommend the Sunday roast and brownies. It’s fun for kids too with colouring sheets provided and a lovely kids menu. Would certainly recommend.

First visit. Lovely establishment. Food excellent, very busy, friendly service. Prices on the high side, especially the beer, but still value for money for the whole experience. I will go again but on a Monday lunch session when there is a lunch time deal.

Lovely place, efficient staff, but food was a let-down - my husband had fish and chips, where was served with seven chips on the plate, one of which wasn’t fully cooked and he had to hunt for the fish in the batter. Sorry, nice place and friendly staff, but not good value.

Ladies lunch very good All around we chose from pre fix lunch menu lovely food all around just the vegs need cooking a little longer it was the same for Sunday lunch I know trend is was Al dented veg but sometimes its practically raw veg and you can't cut it shame for a minute Or two more ...but would definitely go back and I do And to be sure book

The service here is good, the waiters and waitresses are friendly and offer good service. However , the food is boring. I come here probably once a month due to my family liking it, each time i’m faced with the same disappointment, the sunday roast is the worst. The potatoes are hard n dry , the Yorkshire pudding was flat and dry, the pork again was dry. everything was DRY, even with the gravy. For someone who often eats a sunday roast, this has to be the worst and does not reach the right expectations. The only thing this place is good for is the drinks, unless you enjoy dry food.

Just received a phone call as I was getting ready to leave, (some of my party were already in the car from reading) to be told that I wasn’t welcome as I have a double buggy (twins), which I did mention when booking my table a week in advance. No solution, interrupted as I was trying to explain my situation, and ended up arguing with me, and then cancelling. This has never happened before. Do not go here if you have any additional needs… they will not accommodate you!

We had a lovely meal here- food was delicious, waiter was very friendly and service was good apart from at the end. We had signed up to receive a 20% voucher from the website which clearly states it will be sent within 24 hours. We signed up more than 24 hours before but did not receive the voucher. We explained to the waiter, who asked the manager if there’s anything he can do. The manager advised there’s nothing he can do, as the voucher will be sent within 72 hours (not 24 - despite it clearly Stating this on the website). The manager did not exercise his discretion and apply the voucher. Please update your website if this is the case and do not mislead people. The fact that the manager didn't even bother coming over and informing us in person and made the poor waiter shuffle between us and he manager on 3 occasions shows very poor management.

Went here on the 30th June to celebrate my Mum and Husband’s birthdays. We had Roberto as our waiter. He’ll make you smile and is very, very pleasant. Food was fantastic. Lovely place and lovely food. Great gluten free menu! Service was excellent. When we finished our main course a large table sat behind us. They were exceptionally loud, noisy and shouting. We rushed our dessert to get out of there.

Nice place, yet to try the food but it did look nice. Garden was in a bit of a state with rubbish but otherwise was a nice stop off for a pint. When back in the area we'll try the food.

Lovely quiet garden for a get-together with friends and colleagues

Decorated nicely and lovely atmosphere but massively overpriced - £23.95 for a hanging mixed kebab with small side salad. Terrible value for money, kebab was massively underwhelming and was mostly vegetables instead of meat!

Fantastic food and service they really look after you food very good very good menu a lot of choices too choose from. The only bad thing is the disabled parking only two spaces also there is no space too load and unload disabled passengers you have to unload and load disabled passengers in the live lane of the car park before you park in the disabled bay therefore holding up the traffic beside this the restaurant and staff are Fantastic 30/4/23 Update just had Sunday lunch at ego Little chalfont very disponted we had roast beef? Which was very tuff you could use it too put on the soles of your shoes also roast potatoes were none existence terrible also no parking for disabled people there is only parking 🅿️ for two cars also the inside of the restaurant is in Dyer need of an upgrade as the cladding is coming in stuck and the kitchen cabinets under the serving hatch are turning black because of water 💦 damage from mopping the floor . All in All it was a very bad experience

Food was nice but the nut part of the nut roast was a bit too small, a bigger potion would have been nice other than that food was great. We sat in the conservatory kind of section and found it to be a bit too loud with the music and everyone in there, felt like every tables voices were bouncing off all the walls and combined with the music it was just a little too loud. However, overall experience was good and we would go back

Booked for a late lunch for my wife’s birthday on Tuesday afternoon, after spending the day in Amersham. Warm and inviting decor, with comfy surroundings. We were promptly welcomed and sat at our seats. A mixed menu of Mediterranean and Pub classics. Recommend the Ego Sharing Board. Caelan served us and they offered us a very good dining service. The Cocktail deal of 2 for £12 is great value. Espresso Martinis were great. They brought out a birthday dessert plate and sang for us too. Nothing short of a 5* experience. Love to come back again and try more.

Love the atmosphere here. Enjoyed a delicious meal with a friend. A varied and extensive menu, so plenty of choice. Customer service was excellent too. Ego also has many offers so well worth signing up to their Ego Club! I enjoyed a free 3 course as a Birthday Treat - I don't know of any where else who is as generous to their regular customers. Well worth a visit!

Absolutely brilliant food and service

The place was packed, so it was a buzzy atmosphere but private enough due to the spacing of the tables. All age ranges so that was nice. I would prefer a few more plainer dishes on offer as an option. That's just me though.

The staff couldn't be more efficient and the beef roast was perfectly cooked and full of taste. Have been to the Pomeroy many times before and since Ego have taken over, the staff and food is flawless. Thank you for today and to the incredible team. Will be coming every Sunday at this rate
