Great looking venue. Great staff, especially Julia. Good music. Even the security are friendly and polite.

Took my wife on a date there, I had table booked indoors. We had our dinner and decided to move in terrace for some shisha and coctails, so spoke with our waiter about it, he said yeah absolutely fine, go there find a table someone will come to serve you. We paid for dinner and vine and moved to terrace, we still had some vine so took it with us in terrace. My wife and I had good chats and laughs, we sat there for an hour or so and then realised no one came to serve us or ask us do we want anything, even though 2 waiters were walking around and serving other tables😅🤦🏻 we finished vine and left as by then mood for coctails or shisa was gone lol Overall conclusion: Staff needs training. Food overpriced by 30% for what you get, tastes average and presentation is below average. They run out of oysters, had only 1 bottle of vine we wanted and had no gas for heater in terrace 😅🤦🏻 Restaurant have a great name and looks cool inside but that's abou it, we didn't get the vibe we wanted nor the wow factor. It's very unlikely we go back there.

A Birthday Dinner to Remember! I celebrated my birthday with my boyfriend at this lovely restaurant, and everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. I had the duck and he had the steak — both dishes were cooked to perfection, beautifully presented, and incredibly tasty! The flavors were rich and comforting, just what you’d hope for in a special meal. Our waiter, Mihai, was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcomed. His service added a really personal touch to the evening. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday treat. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We came here on a Sunday evening for a family meal and I'm not sure this was the right setting in hindsight. This is definitely more of a place to go with your girlfriends or guys before a night out. Felt a bit style over substance. The starters were nice - I had the aranchini balls with my husband, my mum had the garlic prawns and my brother had the chicken wings. My dad ordered the hummus which was ok but overpowered with cumin. The food was ok, my brother and I had the lobster linguine and it was a bit bland but fine. My husband ordered the lamb shank which was actually tasty. My dad was happy with his tuna steak. My mum ordered the sea bass and it was undercooked and translucent and we had to send it back to the kitchen to be cooked further. Considering this I think it would have been appropriate for the restaurant to have deduced this from the bill considering they nearly gave my mum food poisoning from undercooked fish. It was a shame to see that they did not do this. We all ordered the apple tart for dessert which was disappointing to say the least. It was watery and the pastry was chewy as it was not cooked properly and the entire dish was flavourless. Our waitress was very nice and attentive as was the front of house. The staff are nice here but the restaurant's food is disappointing. The prices are actually shocking - some steak prices were more expensive than Hawksmoor in London so I'm baffled that a restaurant in MK are charging these prices.

Really great food from starter to main and pudding all really good. Decor is so nice too. Only let down was the music was on repeat and the same song kept skipping back to the beginning half way and this went un noticed by all staff until I asked for it to be stopped. Would return as was lovely lunch.

Terrible service. After 40 minutes with no food, we asked a waitress and were told this is “normal” as they were busy… After another 10 minutes and still no food, we walked out. A waste of time.

The food was okay but overpriced, I felt. I should not have to pay extra to swap potato (sautéed) for potato (mash). Why am I paying the same price for a fillet of sea bass as for a whole sea bass? Side of veg was cold. Lovely people but will not be returning.

Food was great, as was atmosphere and service. My main critique would be the wine, paying £34 for a bottle of rose and being served a £6.50 bottle of Barefoot is an absolute mockery. Also, none of the beer taps were working. Other than this, I would recommend but avoid the wine menu

We were sat outside and it was very cold. The service was mid, we all had lamb chops and steak and we were not given steak knives but regular knives. The staff were a bit dismissive as well. Wouldn’t go there again.

Oligarch never disappoints! From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and welcoming. Our waiter was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. As always, I had my go-to cocktail, an Old Fashioned and it was expertly made, perfectly balanced, and smooth. The atmosphere was great, and the food was just as impressive, trying a rare sirloin steak for the first time, I normally go for medium rare. A fantastic experience all around, highly recommended!

During my recent visit to Oligarch, I had the pleasure of being served by Maria and George. Both friendly demeanor made the dining experience truly enjoyable. Maria's and georges knowledge of the menu and her recommendations were spot-on, enhancing our meal significantly. Their professionalism and warm hospitality are commendable. I highly recommend requesting Maria as your server for an outstanding dining experience.

Olly and Kay were phenomenal. Olly’s knowledge of the menu and recommendations were spot on. (I had scallops, and carbonara) Kay delivered some fantastic cocktails. What a venue. Highly recommend.

Great experience and very tasty food. I don't think there are many places in Milton Keynes with such a diverse menu, from seafood to perfect steaks. Oyesters are a must to try! Perfect venu for evening dinner.

Took my husband here for his birthday. Excited that there was finally a place back on the MK map that served oysters and lobster as well as a range of seafood. The staff were very friendly and accommodating whilst they traversed this gaudy den of the usual cliched decor of the modern trendy restaurant trying to appeal to wannabe oligarchs. Tell you what though, I can’t imagine an oligarch putting up with the state of the wine list. No country to choose from, just a list of grape types. Turns out our pot luck was a bottle of Villa Maria. Villa Maria?!?!? Now, you can’t go that wrong with a Sauvignon blanc and I’ve nothing against an affordable supermarket wine but being charged £37 for a £10 bottle of supermarket wine was really insulting. At least put the effort in the get some off the lesser known shelf wine no one recognises it and we can play pretend that it really is worth that much. That is some very poor restaurant manners. I actually still haven’t gotten over the shock of that d*#k move. They’d run out of Oysters :/ which surprising annoyed me less than the winegate situation. The starters and mains were nice but eye wateringly expensive for what they were. I was intrigued by a pudding with pumpkin dressed with tahini and maple only to be served a gratuitous, awfully presented pile of roasted pumpkin and little else. It made little sense as a dish, tasted like it was missing its roast chicken and the presentation was out of this world bad. I usually lie to staff and say everything tastes okay, but I couldn’t do it..it crossed a line. The waiter was lovely and they gave me a refund. I felt a little rude for getting a refund but after paying £200, nearly £22 was a forced tip and nearly £40 was supermarket wine that is literally the last time I fall for this faux good restaurant malarkey.

The waiter George was very kind and made our time in this restaurant unforgettable. The atmosphere is very nice and not noisy. This is the best place in this city, I recommend 👍💞

Sooooo booked to go here 23rd February - yesterday. Booked on line for the Sunday Dinner for 4 people. We even ticked the correct option for the Sunday Roast. So we turned up, sat down and when we were ready to order - at 330 p.m - we were told that they had no Sunday Roasts left. We were so looking forward to our meal in there. When we asked why did they not contact us beforehand that they could not meet our booking we were told by the Manager, that she had not even looked at any of the bookings. So if we had been advised before going there we could of booked somewhere else. To be honest it was embarrassing as friends had come up from London for the meal. So we went elsewhere . Very very disappointing to say the least !!!!! It's so lovely in there too so one upset family !!!!

It was our first time here but Alessandro made it feel like we were nothing short of regulars. We ordered the serloin steak, creme a la chicken, garlic prawns and brie wedges. All items were sensational and of decent portion sizings. He made sure to check up on us, recommend items he thought would pair well and loved our choice in Whiskey drinks. We had a few issues regarding our table light yet Alessandro made it a light hearted situation and found us another. His personality really made our experience feel like we were eating at an old friends establishment and for that we cannot recommend this place enough. We will be recommending to friends and revisiting soon.

I can't help but give 5* all round here, I found this place when I was researching where to take the girlfriend for her birthday/valentine meal. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a kind gent (I do not remember the name unfortunately, but I do know he was Turkish (teşekkürler kardeşim!), we were seated and then greeted by out waiter, wonderful Alessandro, who I must say is a great asset to this restaurant, vibrant, funny and enthusiastic with his guests. Me and my partner were genuinely taken aback by him, it is rare (even in the hospitality industry) to meet someone quite so authentic and lovely as Alex, selfishly we almost didn't want him to leave the table! So a huge thanks to you mate, and hopefully we manage to catch you in the future. The food did not disappoint whatsoever. Huge well done to the kitchen staff. Starters, mains, dessert, cold and hot drinks, all spot on and great presentation, you pay good money for good food, and a phenomenal service. Love lobster and that was one of the best I've had. Husband had rib eye steak no need for a steak knife. Spoilt for choice on the menu. Cocktail were really tasty and not just the usual ones. Highly recommend and definitely go again.

Restaurant Review: Amazing Service, But the Food (and Prices) Disappointed I recently dined at The Oligarch, and while the service was outstanding, the food and pricing left a lot to be desired. Let’s start with the positives—the staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. They made sure we felt welcome, checked in regularly, and genuinely seemed to care about our experience. Their service was the highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, that’s where the good part ends. The food was completely bland—lacking seasoning, condiments, or any real flavor. Every dish felt underwhelming, as if no effort was put into making it taste good. For a place that presents itself as high-end, the lack of basic seasoning was shocking. To make matters worse, the bill for two people came to nearly £200, which is absolutely outrageous considering the quality of the food. At that price, I expect a memorable meal, not something that tastes like an afterthought. Charging that much for such uninspired dishes feels like nothing short of daylight robbery. Unless they drastically improve the food or lower their prices to match what they actually serve, I won’t be coming back. Great service can’t make up for a disappointing and overpriced meal.
